I finally managed to get Rainbow sentinel down with Diamond on the 6th try, I used my leftover apples from Tales to push it to level 15 as only Diamond was coming close.

Have decided not to push too hard on this tournament even tho I normally have no trouble winning them and have not lost a tournament in months. But because of tales going on and the fact I'm not super enamoured of this prize I am going to be cautious and only battle as necessary until I have the queen. You are right. I just beat round 15, Clown dragon, and only got 3 golds as the prize. Yea, round 20 and 25 suppose to be 3 golds as prize, I believe. Well, they have changed it to 5 golds in previous tournament for those critical rounds (rd. 15, 20, and 25), but how come they reduced the golds into 3 golds again this time? Weird...

In my opinion, they changed it to 5 golds in the previous tournament because it was a very tough one with 3 Champion Dragons on Level 20 and many high level oppoments in general.
Now that they changed back the pattern of the opponents' levelling to the clasic one, they brought back the reduced gold earnings!

Although there is no official announcement till now for all these changes during the last period of time, they have explained them by replying to some of the players' tickets.

This time is hapenning again with the clown dragon, I lost like 7 times against him today, it doesn't matter which dragon I use. I know we have 6 days but if I'm making the effort to play the game each hour I would like to see results. Sorry but I'm so annoyed, I've lost the last tournaments because of this :( If tomorrow I don't advance, I would stop playing the tournaments until there's a dragon I really love as a reward (so if the same keeps hapenning I'll be doubled annoyed ha! XD).

I was stuck with clown for few hours. On my 2nd or 3rd tourney, i was stuck on champ for few days.... heal the one lost and try again. I learned that it works much better than trying all different dragons.. Good luck! Sending positive thoughts on your way!

Please don't feel stupid @Monichiwa. This is a common occurrence and happens to many. This is the best place to be to vent your frustrations and receive support. Don't give up, you'll get it. Try clearing your cache, turn device off and back on and see if that helps. If not, try a baby or recently hatched dragon. Also, look to the different members here to see what they've used. Good luck. :)

I'm so sorry! Yes, most people have had those crazy awful rounds. My record is 25 ish losses, one dang dragon. That earthquake tourney I lost about 20 to the prize dragon. It's no fun when you are in the depths of it. I think there should be a loss limit per round, I keep throwing that out there, hoping someone important sees it!
You are not stupid nor alone! Sometimes throwing a baby in there helps shake it up. Not sure you've tried that yet. Chin up, good luck and keep me posted WHEN you beat that clown!

Thanks! I wouldn't have guessed that those posts had that kind lv info in it. I would love an announcement type area in the forum where these kinda things can officially be explained but that's just my wishful desires. Halfway done with this beast! If I was you, I am gonna try with Fairytale. Cause the combo of the components are champion and rainbow...rainbow is weak against fairytale. And if that is not working, I will try a combo of Purple, Blue And Yellow. I know that I met this dragon in the past days, cause I love battling, it doesn`t matter is there a tournament event or not..I just keep do it...And I am pretty sure that this combo of colors or fairytale ( i can`t say which one i used on 100%) will works. According to me You can use and some dragon with combo of red/green...red/yellow ...Cause this dragon looks like silver metal dragon...and the silver is melted by Fire

In theory, Mythic, Gold, Fairytale type have the best chance or even Champion type itself, but Fairytale species didn't work well for me this time. In earthquake's tourney, Time Travel did the great job, but not this time. Yea, we never know which is the best choice against Champion type. I believe randomness play role here. Just beat Rainbow Sentinel this time with my lvl. 4 Metal, bbB. Wish you best of luck. :)

I'm getting sooooo fed up! I'm stuck on the 3rd battle, a measly level 1 pumpkin! I've looked at what you guys have been posting, and tried to use the same dragons, but so far the little fella has defeated my level 11 forest, level 10 air, level 11 banshee, my level 11 jack dragon and a level 7 super rare clockwork dragon (I threw him in for good measure, as he is both super rare AND the same colour combo as the pumpkin). I'm thoroughly disheartened now.

Hey, Cesar, don't give up. Retry ur Air, sometimes it worked. You can also try Blue-Yellow/Yellow-Black/Yellow-Pink dragon. Good luck.

In theory, Mythic, Gold, Fairytale type have the best chance or even Champion type itself, but Fairytale species didn't work well for me this time. In earthquake's tourney, Time Travel did the great job, but not this time. Yea, we never know which is the best choice against Champion type. I believe randomness play role here. Just beat Rainbow Sentinel this time with my lvl. 4 Metal, bbB. Wish you best of luck. :)

Nclarec, I don't what the official reasoning is, but in my view it sort of makes sense, because if it wasn't possible, then only high level players with a stack of level 15 dragons would ever win, which would mean fewer would bother playing. So there has to be some game strategy/functionality that allows lower level players to be able to compete as well.

The downside seems to be that although players like to beat champs with babies, they don't like it when the reverse happens and the baby opponents beat their champs! LOL

Hello, laurelsail. In Earthquake's tourney, I won against Battlesteed with Quetzal. This time I decided not to use Quetzal as my first line fighter and choose other dragon that have green element in it, if it lost then I use Quetzal as my other alternative. That's my reasoning. Then it worked perfectly just like what I planned. I just beat Battlesteed with my lvl. 7 Fairy (Green-Yellow elements), bB. Hope it works for you too. Good luck! :)

It wasn't too bad a tournament until I hit Battlesteed when all hell broke loose. As I have real life things to juggle around I weighed up the pros and cons and deemed an Ultimate to be in my best interests, so Ultimate I did. First time since the Skeletal Knight tournament, so I don't feel too bad about it!

Frostbite went down mB to the lovely Starlight, level 9.

I feel your pain, same happened to me. I finally took it down with Banshee (white/blue) on my main account. I also used that color combo for my other 2 accounts. Do you have any black-red/red-black/gemstone-yellow/gemstone-pink/gemstone-black hybrids? Such as Amphora (I won with this guy), Goblin, Abyss, Astro, Cursed Rose, Topaz, Onyx or Quartz. If you have any of those, try it.

Well, as you can see, Loch Ness comprised of yellow-green element. Yellow element is weak against black and pink, on the other hand, green is weak against gemstone and red. The used of yellow (such as Topaz) is just neutral against Loch Ness' yellow, but the gemstone element in it have an advantage against Loch Ness' green colour. That's the reasoning.
In my experiences, level didn't matter, it didn't play much role in battle arena because even level 1 dragon with right colour also can beat high level dragons and even level 20 dragons, such as my level 1 Night Imp who beat level. 20 Frostbite with just one big bash. Yea, of course we can't avoid those randomness factor that also play role in here too. Hope that make sense. Good luck.

I won with Lollipop but I see from your later post that you don't have it. From my notes:

BLUE YELLOW - AVOID red blue white USE pink black yellow purple rainbow gemstone = Lollipop lacewing shadow venomous black cat.

Also, do you have Topaz or tigers eye?

You seem to be stuck on a losing streak though which is seemingly a random block which many of us have had unfortunately. Perhaps time to through a baby in too, if you haven't tried already?

Any tips for Clown? I've lost more than a day on that jerk! I've tried every color combo possible according to the chart. i.e. Lightening, Origami, Rapunzel, Music, Venomous, Black Cat, Prime Chroma, Magic. I won with Lollipop but I see from your later post that you don't have it. From my notes:

BLUE YELLOW - AVOID red blue white USE pink black yellow purple rainbow gemstone = Lollipop lacewing shadow venomous black cat.

Also, do you have Topaz or tigers eye?

You seem to be stuck on a losing streak though which is seemingly a random block which many of us have had unfortunately. Perhaps time to through a baby in too, if you haven't tried already?

I know what you mean! I usually do all the math in my head of the ways that a tournament could interrupt the tales but I never counted on a 6 day starting on a Friday! I honestly don't ever remember that happening before but I really don't have a good memory so you know lol. I have finally gotten the King on 2 islands now but still stuck on Astromancer on 2 but 1 of them doesn't matter for tales so I could choose to end my misery now lol on that one but the other one I still need to win 2 before I can even get King so I don't know how that one is going to work out
