How does the tent work?

1. Every day there's a new grand prize you can purchase. The grand prize is random. All known drops are outlined below & in the Inventory Guide (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?76375).
2. Every day you get 3 free cabbages only. If you buy cabbages, remaining ones (above 3) are carried over to the next day but you do not get an additional 3 free ones.
3. In order to get the Grand Prize, you'll need to purchase some cabbages as you need all 6 prizes to get the grand prize and you're only given 3 free cabbages.
4. Even if you do not want to purchase cabbages, throw your three free ones per day (unless you have the Cabbage Hut). You will still get those prizes (the ones behind the Baron's face).
5. Purchases you can make inside the Baron's Tent:
* 1 rotten cabbage = 10 gems
* 4 rotten cabbages = 40 gems
* 10 rotten cabbages = 90 gems
* 22 rotten cabbages = 180 gems

6. In Oct '15, the Cabbage Hut was released in the market for 450 gems (Limit of 1). It drops 1 rotten cabbage on each collection and has a 22-hour timer. The rotten cabbages are "stored" inside the Baron's Tent (not in the player's storage cellar inventory). No reported limit for the number of rotten cabbages that can accrue and be stored in the Baron's Tent.

You can accumulate the cabbages you collect everyday if you don't use the 3 free on the first day.

Start with your 3 free. Don't use them.

Now collect from your cabbage hut. You should have 4 now. Don't use them.

The next day collect from the cabbage hut again. You should now have 5. Don't use them.

Continue each day collecting from the cabbage hut without using any until you have the amount you want or need to hit all 25 spots.
There is also a pending game goal to acquire &/or build the Cabbage Hut.

This has been fixed, the thumbnail in the inventory now matches what is placed on the board. :cool:
You will have to reinstall to see the updated thumbnail.

Unfortunately the rotation for this item, will remain backwards.

I can see why tent-players like this update, but personally I'm one of the players who don't like the tent: how it works and what it gives, namely more more more deco. It seems to me last year was mainly having tedious events (on top: the long and winding road to get the cooking camp). Nostalgic: I remember getting excited when an event started, working hard, curious, anxious: that went downhill last year, and the last event, mwah... it made me numb...

And lately.... That will be 5 weeks for me (and many others) without getting an update (that is IF we get an update next week). Nothing else to do but collecting and getting maxed.

I'm not the only one feeling this way. And I really really dislike it, cause this is my nr.1 game. But the way it's going, if this will not alter soon I m afraid I may give up. I want my joy back, my passion, my curiosity...!

Agreed! It seems like it would be bad for the games economy to keep putting those repeats. I know I won't buy extra cabbages for them. I kept getting that ugly hairless cat when all I really wanted was the skunku-elf. He finally showed up, after about two weeks. And the clock tower from a few months back NEVER showed up once.
I feel like I jinxed my tent by posting how badly I wanted them here in the forums. So, this time I'm just gonna say....bring on that ugly cat! (That way maybe he won't show up. :rolleyes:)

To me, he is using an umbrella not shown in the picture to fight off an army of rats! Glad I finally got to witness one in action! He is not welcome in my place. He might hit Ivy and cause her potions to fail, creating a one-eyed one-horned flying purple people eater. No one needs that!

the horse's glasses say COOL when you buy him. It's DIFFERENT than the picture that says 2016.27811
Once placed, the tail is also multi-colored like the mane (unlike the tent pic) ... I like the "COOL" version better, at least it's not 10 years off-time like the one pictured (which actually says 2006, not 2016), lol
...but I wish the glitter stayed on his body like in the original pic.

The duplicates gives us less chance to get more new prizes - thats my only concern.
For example, before, without rereleases , i ve got 5 fairy horses! and i love them
BUT , with rereleases past month, i only got got ONE xmas horse and One manticore, they only showed up ONCE in my time!
i kept getting the cats n dogs from previous months and i dont want them. :(

The duplicates gives us less chance to get more new prizes - thats my only concern.
For example, before, without rereleases , i ve got 5 fairy horses! and i love them
BUT , with rereleases past month, i only got got ONE xmas horse and One manticore, they only showed up ONCE in my time!

so, if prizes change on feb 7, than we have Less than 3 weeks to get the prizes we want, i mean the new stuff like horse, sheep, and dragon of course.

Ya know I really don't get why S8 hasn't taken some of them out just to increase the chance of getting something else so players will spend gems on what they want. I thought that was the tent concept to begin with - spend money for gems to get the item you want. Maybe someone at S8 has a cat fetish or something. It just makes no sense.

Totally agree with you, Lorrainne; I don't quite get it either. The only thing I can think of is: maybe S8 also thinks it's not good for the game's economy in the long run if some players have a lot of one thing or too many resources for the same materials? Hmm, but still, that really makes no sense either because longtime players ALREADY have a lot of everything for the simple fact that we've been playing long enough to GET them, lol. I dunno & really not sure why 2 months' running now, we've gotten 4 new things in the tent alongside *SIX* repeats which have been cats & dogs BOTH times (& which show up in the tent more often than the new stuff!) that NOBODY WANTS, lol. If anything, you'd think S8 would rerun the things that some players have mentioned as FAVORITES in that polling thread or missed out on getting the first time around, like the clock tower, dragon bones, character gnomes, etc.

I agree 1000%! Based on the forum posts, there's NO WAY all the cat (and dog) repeats are good for the game economy. But there must be someone out there in CS land buying them, because they are relentless. Someone at S8 definitely has a thing for cats. And fountains!


And ditto NWK.....if we must have repeats, bring back the things we loved or missed out on the first time. I NEVER got a shot at the clock tower even once.

Hi all, the white alicorn is on sale. Or I could spend my gems on this attractive purple dragon that showed up in my tent today!! Can anyone help me with a comparison of the two? I don't yet have the white alicorn, just the wedding and pink alicorns. They each drop about 4-6 energy, sometimes more or less. Thank you. Edit: followed the helpful link above and learned it drops. 1XP, coins or 1-3 dragon scales or 1 longsword or 1 light armor or 1 Earth wisp or 2 jewels or 2 coal or 2 gems or 5 energy (*Everything a regular orange dragon drops). Seriously, finally some truly interesting prizes available after a long time and it seems like the timer is running out far too quickly. How about recycling the popular ones from January into the tent for February? The only kitty I want to see is the new Valentine's one.

I got the darn "New Year's Horse" for 3 days in a row and then 3 times the "Cozy Holiday Sheep" and a bunch of those ugly dogs. I want the "Fireworks Dragon" and I think it is unfair that we can't get a chance to get all the items. All I get is the same ones over and over again! I never saw the following:

Same here! He has been my best purchase from the tent. Not the most attractive, to me he looks like he stepped in an ant pile and is trying to shake them off :D, but definitely the most useful. I've been doing the trade too, especially with the monster hunt, teeth and bones added up fast, and he provided the horns!

Fireworks Dragon finally appeared for me. 'Sparkles' now stays proudly with my or their dragons :)

I never got the troll either... The one thing I wanted. I saw the sheep 3 times too and the horse twice, dragon once. Stupid Cats and dogs zillions of times.

Really lucky I saw (and bought) one dragon. Did see the sheep three times, but Santa last month looked so much better in the tent than he does in my kingdom that I passed sweater by.

So out of the January items I saw the new ones for only four days! (One dragon, three sheep, no troll, no horse! I kept a list this time)

We are not buying stuff if we are never given the chance! Lost opportunity, lost revenue guys.

I did get the dragon ,but it took many cats to get there,,lol !!!!!!no troll no horse no sheep .Saw lots of cats and dogs that's for sure

I also had a few cats and dogs, along with the "Gentleman" troll, who I got. If he's a "gentleman", what is he beating? I don't get that! But I'm maxed on troll horns! :D
