There is a new grandpa timed goal

Prize: Animated Owl

http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/y416/kookypanda99/648d6dbe-aef7-486b-86e2-d841de7316a7_zpstsbiwy1p.png (http://s1273.photobucket.com/user/kookypanda99/media/648d6dbe-aef7-486b-86e2-d841de7316a7_zpstsbiwy1p.png.html)

When you finish goals, Gramps still drops by and gives you 9 marshmallows each time!

Not only will you still get marshmallows, Gramps will now always drop 9! So yes, finish the goals! :)

edit(KP)

Minimum level for this goal is 12.
Grandpa drops by every 4 hours.

Grandpa can drop 2 or 3 Marshmallows, but it will depend on your level.

There's also a VERY small chance that he will drop a large amount of marshmallows for players of all levels.

It deals with the marshmallows and walnuts. You got to collect things from grandpa

In some of the other stories, we have the coins goals as main goals which I am very glad. The side goals are optional and usually require gems. So we can choose to skip if we want.

P.S. Please let me know if you need help to add these pic to your post on page 1.

I would love to add all my pictures, but that is a lot of work so if you could add even just the main goal line pictures that I or anyone else posts I would really appreciate it but you do not need to do so unless you want to. Thank you so much :)

You're right, the goals are just side quests. I am still optimistic about this goal. Strawberry Mallow cake is already 5 coin recipe, hopefully the rest will be even more :)

In my case he came back after 5 hours with two marshmallows... It's very strange that he appears to show up at a different time for everyone... Why put in a random factor when the drop rate is already random

Definitely not gonna count on old gramps for marshmallows, considering he is probably a relative of yeti's. I'm gonna try and keep a stockpile of marshmallows, and not go below a certain number. It seems like the shorter amount of time given to complete, the harder the quest is.

Waited over two hours for him last night, no show and had to go to bed. This morning he only dropped 2 again. I'm not loving or even liking this one. Mostly likely will only casually play. At the rate marshmallows in the shop and gramps drops, I will mostly likely only be able to make 2 items a day.

Just started on this event, I don't visit the game so often and was surprised to see something new. Happy to see all the new decorations, but I am not happy by the amount of new recipes that we are going to need to master. This time we only have 13 days to complete this, and just as many recipes as the last event. After the failure from the previous event and flashbacks from the stingy Yeti from RS2 I don't have good feelings about this, but I am going to do my best! :)

Gramps is pretty bad. I think after these goals, I am not gonna want to see another marshmallow again. I think the only way to do this is to keep a good amount of marshmallows. I try to make other things in between the marshmallow recipes so I don't run out too fast.

Don't give up yet! You never know, S8 might change the drop rate. By the time that happens, it might be too late to catch up.

I hope that S8 DO change the restock of the marshmallows to a 1hr restock. I'd also like to see Gramps drop into the bakery more often. Every 4hrs is way to long. How on earth are we going to complete all the goals in 13 days with a drop/restock rate like it is. Last goal (gingerbread house) I was 2 gingerbread houses off completing the goal but ran out of that winter spice and ginger, so I never completed it. These goals turn me off playing the game. They are very time consuming and for some of us, including myself, work, families and life comes first. I'll still do the goals just not with the enthusiasm and hopes in completing all the steps to get to the final prize. Good luck to all.

I would have waited had I know. It is early enough into this quest that I wasn't stressing whether I got them or not right away. Just wish I would have known.....hoping now that someone will read this and know before doing the goal.

Anyone else complete the first side goal to get the marshmallows by placing Cooper's sled and such and just buying them and now realizing that as you start mastering recipes they give you those items to place? I am annoyed now I bought them, not that they were expensive but with everything costing so many coins that is coins to go towards something else.

At least they only cost a few coins but I understand your disappointment

Storm 8 - can you PLEASE lower the times of the drop rates for marshmallows (either have Grampa come in more often or - even better - refill them every hour instead of every two hours at Jenny's... We need so many toasted MM that we can only bake one Mallow cake and then we have to wait two hours to make a S'more... That's ridiculous!

Oh, and since when do you make crakers in a mixer... The ovens are being idle in this event (due to the above mentioned problem) while we need the mixer for everything!... It would be great if we could bake the crackers like every other cookie

If we're being logical, why would we need to toast marshmallows before we put them into the cake recipe when they're going to cook there anyway. It's the toasting that's eating up all the marshmallows. Three make one - I only get 4 and the cake needs 2 toasted, i.e. 6. It becomes tedious when it could be fun.

Why are three marshmallows needed to make one toasted marshmallow?

I get the long wait times - okay, a bit of an added challenge. Nice.
But when a recipe unnecessarily hogs all the ingredients we wait hours for, it becomes a little unfair for people who have a life outside the game.

Most new games start off easier to get us warmed up and whatever. This game just threw us right in the deep end.:(

At least the mastery amounts have been lowered to something reasonable. You can reach them quite easily (so far anyways) in the course of just doing the goals. Those extra marshmallows you are getting from grandpa will probably be the difference between you finishing and many of us failing. I'm always short 1 marshmallow to roast a second one which means I will have to wait another two hours for the next collection. Since it takes two roasted marshmallows to make the cake I will end up being able to make at least 1/3 less than you a day. These luck based drops are unfair.

No, I can't upgrade or I already would have, event or no event :-) I've waited months and never get enough upgrade items for any of the stores. I do every to go order that pops up (except the one for the peanut butter jelly cake, when I didn't have the appliance and it wouldn't let me refresh for a week). And still not enough parts. I have a feeling that the marshmallow pie recipe might require 4 toasted marshmallows... the recipe for the S'mores bar is 3. I am just finding it hard to get into these goals because toasting the marshmallows is making it extremely tedious. If I finish early I don't even know if I'll want to make more of these recipes... I think if this kind of double preparation is implemented in another goal the toasting/cooking time should be lowered to 1 min max so that one only has to wait 30 seconds instead of waiting around 5 mins for the marshmallows, 3 for cocoa, and 10 for graham crackers. It just makes the goals more enjoyable.

I think you have a good chance of finishing with 3 marshmallows per drop but that requires diligent collections. What I like to do, and it's helped me so far is focus on one recipe at a time and finish that part of the step before moving onto the next part. I also go with the one that uses the least amount of marshmallows first and working my way up. I also try not to go below a certain number of marshmallows and then stock up by end of day. I understand this might hurt me in the end, but I will go all the way till the end if I need too and hope I can make it

Last quest, many of us complained about the fact that we had to master all of the recipes. Now the creators have just changed the names to "Make S'mores 5 times" so we think that will be easy and fast. But it is literally the same thing..

Sabriiinax4

You need :

3 toasted for Smores bar so (3x3) x5 = 45 marshmallows
1 toasted for Smores so (1x3) x 5 = 15 marshmallows
2 toasted for Strawberry mallowcake so (2x3) x 5 = 30 marshmallows

45 + 15 + 30 = 90 marshmallows for goal 7/9.

I get 4 every 2 hours with Jenny and 2 with Louie every 4 hours ..

If I play 10 hours per day, I could only get ..

20 from Jenny's shop and 4 from Louie.

Will take me 4 days of ''hardcore'' playing to get to next goal.

I'm level 15 with 3 slots in Jenny's store. I get 3 marshmallows every two hours from that store and 2/3 from gramps apparently every four hours. Unfortunately most of us also have real lives and can't be checking our games every two hours in hopes of getting three marshmallows to pop in a toaster and get only one toasted marshallow. It is entirely unrealistic and I wish players the best in completing without using gems.

You need :

3 toasted for Smores bar so (3x3) x5 = 45 marshmallows

Agree..... I'm fine with goals being challenging, but they should not be IMPOSSIBLE. I buy gems occasionally, but the prizes on this event are not worth it. If their unstated goal is really to get us to purchase gems with these crazy tasks, then the prizes need to be more desirable.

I wouldn't do the last ambrosia one as it only gives graham crackers and takes away two marshmallows... but the first one is good because it awards 3 and takes away 1 I believe.

I mostly pop into game just to make a quick collect and exit. But I do agree, even doing this does take effort especially with a busy schedule. I am not giving up yet, just waiting to see the later goals. Hopefully they are doable. Good luck with yours.

Ok, just finished up level 7 and unlocked Rocky Road Pie. Cooks in 4 hours, serves 750, earns 6000, 150 XP, 8 coins per plate.

To make Rocky Road Pie you need 4 toasted marshmallows, 2 graham crackers, 3 cocoa powders, and 2 nuts.

GOAL Line 8 - Serve 5 Rocky Road Pies, 5 Fluff Cookie Sandwiches, and 5 Hot Cocoas. Prize is a Smores Counter.

Side Goal - Serve 2 Ambrosia, 1 Strawberry Cake, and 1 Frosted Chocolate Brownie. Prize is 5 Marshmallows.

Other Side Goal - Deliver 5 to go orders. Prize is a cocoa powder.

So I can get 48 marshmallows from Jenny and 12 from Louie daily. That's 60 marshmallows a day, if I play constantly. Let's say I'm available for 12 hours a day. That's 30 marshmallows a day. 4 days to complete goal 8/9 :(

The last step can't be too difficult or a lot of us won't make it :(

Agreed. The thing is, it's just so tedious! I don't care if goals are hard to complete, but these are not only hard, they're extremely boring and tiring to complete. I just want them to be over already and can't imagining myself making any dishes for fun.

I don't know if I'd even want the recipes to be permanent, I'm sick of marshmallows! lol! But I do believe they take away the recipes because if you think about it, they'd have to keep all the ingredients too and in just one or two more goals would have filled up all the shops. Then we'd probably have to buy some fourth shop that costs 2 million coins or something. In addition, the recipes have not been balanced for long term gameplay (I think).

It's going to depend on how many ingredients you can collect from that store. For example if you are able to collect 4 marshmallows before re needing to restock, you can collect a total of 10 marshmallows in a 4hr time( 8 from jenny 2 from gramps). She would need to collect from jenny 6 times to get 48, that is if she playing around the clock.

I was also thinking of maybe even taking one day to collect marshmallows, just don't know if that will hurt me in the end.

My general store restocks 4 each time and the marshmallows have a 2hr refresh time. So if I played 24 hours a day, I can make 12 collections of 4 marshmallows, making 48 a day from Jenny alone. :)

I'm considering upgrading Jenny's store to 5, so it'd be possible to get 60 marshmallows a day from her shop.

yppahc
01-18-16, 02:27 AM
I have upgraded the store to 5 and collect 9 times per day. So that is an extra 3 toasted marshmallows each day.

This task still seems slow tho! I am still quite a way from completing stage 7 and imagine 8 & 9 will be even harder.

yelobrikroad
01-18-16, 03:11 AM
Has anyone noticed with the side quest to earn a second marshmallow toaster that you would have to spend 12 gems for the 4 snowman chairs, 16 gems for the 4 tables, and 40 gems for the 4 counters for a total of 68 gems, but you can skip all of that and just buy the second marshmallow toaster for 30 gems? I can't imagine anyone wanting to spend that many gems on snowman furniture!

I probably won't finish this one, either. 2 hours for 4 marshmallows?! I find myself playing the game less than usual when these quests come along. I play only as often as I can collect whatever the limiting ingredient is, whereas I play probably 2-3 times more often when I am making things that do not have a ridiculous wait time for collecting the ingredients. You would think the game designers would want people to play more often rather than less often, wouldn't you? It seems like at least a couple of other people feel the same way.

I think I am regretting asking for more marshmallows as I missed the end of the last event when I was in the hospital. I am still resting and just cannot keep up with this and I'm someone who is home all day right now (granted half that time is spent sleeping). I'm on the early stages of step 6 so we will see but either way I am not going crazy over this and will just enjoy it when I can. Good luck to those really pushing to finish!

I agree with others this is asking too much from us. If if were not timed I could see it but as a timed event it becomes too stressful to get soooooo many marshmellows

The only thing I have going for me is with my sleeping so much I am also waking a lot at night to quickly collect marshmellows, my game addict tendencies are still there haha

Feedback: been playing since the beginning. Now on step 8/9 in this event and am bored beyond concept. This is now the second event I probably won't finish to the end due to boredom. I would like to suggest that future events involve doing more and less waiting on activities. I would rather make a dozen sugar cookies than wait for four hours to collect enough marshmallows in my store and through random drops to possibly make 1 item for the entire day. Now that I'm on a step that requires 4 toasted marshmallow each at three marshmallows to make one toasted, is beyond boring. This event has pretty much lost me

Thank you for your consideration.

Simple. TeamLava/ Storm 8 always has had wonky math. If you played Farm Story (original) you'd know all about how 1 day in TL land equals 22 hours and 20 hours and 24 hours too...

It all depends on how much sleep you want ;)

I'd say you'd have to really really push it and collect every two hours and possibly wake up at night...actually how much does your general store stock? If you only get 2-3 it is probably not enough time. I wouldn't stress about it because we never seem to have enough time to complete goals, so don't worry if you don't make it, and it's not worth losing sleep in real life for a game.

I agree with the other feedback. It is not so much waiting on the recipes that bore me but waiting for ingredients and not being able to do anything. I am cutting it close, not sure if I will finish and I have been playing many hours a day so if someone like me does not finish I can only imagine someone who does not have the time during the day to check in. S8 as a general rule with all your games lately it seems they are becoming more of a chore and "task" driven then fun

Also I notice in the beginning I find the events fun and half way through the get boring, this has been across events and games and I see The same in other players so maybe developers should see why we tire out before it ends as a suggestion.

[] I hope this changes soon as for over a year back when it was teamlava I had so much fun. Maybe it's time to bring some of those people who developed back.

Thanks Cammo! Haha I figured I was kinda on the edge as they say. I'll just go with the flow, play normally and take whatever I get. This is my first set of time goals and this is a new game so I'll get more (and with more time to complete!) goals

I'm bored with the event too:< in the beginning I thought I would try my best to finish it coz I actually like the main prize. However, it's just too boring to wait on marshmallows to restock, then check game every 5 min or stare at the screen to collect roasted marshmallows. Then waiting on other ingridients etc... It just takes too much time. I don't mind collecting marshmallows during the day and then making recipes at night. But even doing this it would take so much efforts just to make one recipe. In the end the owl only costs 100gems and I feel like it would be so much easier just to buy it, because it would save so much time and frustration. Events should be fun but so far they ve been nothing but boring, hard and frustrating lol
I was complaining about Christmas event, but at least we were able to make good money on the recipes. This time there is not much money involved :/ so I don't even know if i want to continue

I agree on the boredom. I don't care about the grand prize but I was hoping to be able to make some decent coins to speed things up. Once you get to the point where everything costs more than a million to buy/unlock/learn and you only get a handful of goals when you level up, there's way too much monotony. At least with the first event even though the gingerbread houses took forever, they gave you 12 coins per plate. I feel like these rocky road pies take just as long to put together but only give 8 coins per plate. The payoff doesn't justify the effort. I think I've actually checked the game less often during this event too because I know I can't do anything for two hours at a time :/

Add me to the list of bored players. It's no fun just waiting hours and hours for an ingredient needed for all the special goal recipes. It's not like there are a couple of chase items needed for different things to make some interest strategizing what to cook when, it's just : wait 2-4 hours, cook one thing, wait 2-4 hours, cook one thing, repeat 20 times.

It's tedious.

And I agree, the Christmas recipes were better because at least you could really earn some coins from them.

I've tried to keep things interesting by redecorating, but the game messes up my floor tiles almost every time I come back in. And then even steals back tiles I've already bought, so I have to pay again if I want to put things back (not cool, s8, not cool). :(
And before anyone asks, yes I shut down the game when I'm not playing.

BS2 is my first S8 game, and between the tedious gameplay and wonky SW/syncing it's not really making me want to try any others. I thought it would be better as I went along, but it's gotten worse.

Sorry that you are having these issues. Can you try to reinstall your game and see if that works? If it doesnt, please report this on the bug & issues thread so we can assist you further without derailing from this goal topic. Thanks.
