I'm hoping for goals but yes I think current goal timer ends on Thursday, so most likely a winter update or crate

They have done back to back to back crates before. It's a new year full of story two games, so who knows what will happen in here now.

it's early for blog posting anyway, if they do it. i'm guessing there will be a preview--it might be wishful thinking, but a lot of workers are now back from holiday vacations & such, so maybe the un-teased weeks were just a question of short staffing at storm8.

How about a stately home.. Downtown Abbey type goal. A oven doing cucumber sandwiches , toasted muffins , crumpets. A oven for pheasant, grouse , partridge. Beautiful tables and chairs and sofas coffee tables etc

Well said. This is my third restaurant that I am posting from, so I know that they already did a Chinese New Year themed update a couple years ago. I am so sick of Chinese themed updates. I have to agree with whoever said not to bring out anymore Chinese themes. I want a world theme from any country other than China.

I was about to second this statement but then remembered that, while we don't have the gawd awful oven elements, we do Have parts that they keep rolling out for us to need. The wheel, golden spike, and two other parts I can't remember.

All of these old parts we have and they insist on having us use the same ones for every single appliance. It's what made me quit for a while because I couldn't get anything built. I'm now cooking on old stuff to replenish food on my counters, but do not look forward to waiting days for parts.

I know! I waste so much money because they're always going bad. And don't get me started on these quantiles. I'll build five for the gems but will worry about mastering them later. Curse all the players who ever complained about too much food!!!

LOL I was thinking the same! Can't use it yet because my restaurant is still sporting Xmas but bought it right away just in case that 10-gem price tag is a mistake and I don't wanna regret not buying it immediately!

OMG...

A teeny-tiny part of me is hoping this may have been at least partially inspired by a suggestion I made back on the Bakery suggestions forum (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?55345-Bakery-Story-Theme-Suggestions/page43#post1068969) for a juice bar theme a while ago. :eek: :eek: :eek:

Regardless of whether or not it was, I'm really pleased with this update! It would go really well with the Harvest box and Farmer's Market stuff to make a really substantial marketplace setting, and the prices are amazing. I love that the appliance is only 2,000 coins because the profits from the recipes can easily make up the cost, unlike the previous 120,000 coin appliance :p And of course, the 4x4 Juice Bar display is so well-detailed and colorful! I'm amazed it only costs 10 gems!

I think this update was a great way to start the New Year in RS :) Thank you S8!

i think it's a great update. it's timeless (cause you can eat healthy anytime, even if some of us only really try in january), which is good, although as always, quantities aren't great. it goes well with one of my favorite themes ever, farmers' markets, but also has some breakfast stuff, which i love. i do wish we'd gotten some new juice recipes to go with the juice bar decoration, but it's still a winning update! yay!

The dishes are so pretty. And it's current because all I see on Instagram are things like this and smoothie bowls. Making me hungry! But I'm gonna have pizza instead of this. Tomatoes are healthy though...and even though it'll be sauced on bread and pepperon, it's the thought that counts.

I agree with twospoons..when I saw it I immediately thought of the farmers market, which I adore and how the new display and that old one would look great during the spring together. And also with the box display for sale always. The picnic.

You don't need to update anything :). The game itself is updated weekly, adding new items to the market every Wednesday at around 10:30 AM PST. This past week, the items added were the ones in this post (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?87927-Restaurant-Update-January-6th/page4#post1231878). They unlock for newer players at Level 10, so you may not be seeing them if you're not at that level yet.

Since you're on Android: some weeks, you may not see an update, in which case, there will be a new version of Restaurant Story on the Play Store. It's sometimes announced on Storm8's blog, but players on the forums will let you know much faster when a new version hits the Play Store. Sometimes, you'll receive a notification in-game to download the new version for a gem reward, but that's been happening less and less frequently. The new version will only contain items added for that week; you'll still receive future updates on your version of Restaurant Story.
