Syncing issues

I'm on level 26, just about to go to Level 27...

I have an issue with cooking things overnight, and when I collect in the morning it doesn't register that I've cooked those items.
Usually the game will "jump" about 5mins into the game where all the people suddenly disappear, all the coins are collected and the shop will be empty. However, if I have collected completed recipes during that time, none of those are registered as being made.

other than waiting 5 mins for the game to sync, is there another solution?

Please close out the game when you are not playing, especially overnight. Start the game afresh to avoid sync issues. If you start the game afresh, you wont need to wait 5 mins to sync. Thanks.
