I avoid using epics against babies because quite often our babies win against the high levels in the later stages of the tournament. I figure if our babies can win, so can the opponent babies beat our epics. I also don't like bashing babies with big battlers, but that is just me! :)

Agreed, I generally have my younger ones gain some experience. However, this tournament I figure I will be pressed for time later on, with three days of potential battling evaporating in festivities and work getting in the way on the previous two.

As I said earlier, Stefen, I avoid using epics against babies because quite often our babies win against the high level opponents in the later stages of the tournament therefore I figure if our babies can win against the epics, so can the opponent babies beat our epics. Whatever lets our babies win, it is reasonable to think it applies both ways.

I've been speeding through battles but no ultimates and I just came across Lvl 20 Luck @ Round 12

Yes, it seems we are getting higher level opponents in earlier rounds this tournament. Can't say I am surprised, I always wondered why we started with so many rounds of level 1, 2 and 3 dragons. Last tournament it was Round 9 before we faced a level 6 - this tournament a level 6 appeared in Round 5.

Gorgeous dragon glad to have something to do over a boring holiday! a tad slow due to some painful shots that put me down for a bit but I think I'm back up again.

When battling Luck, my first choice was Divine 10, who theoretically was a perfect match being Super Rare with three strong colours for and no weaknesses. When Divine failed I chose Noveau who had the blue weakness and yet It was the Magic that took him out in a KO which is Rainbow. many people believe the Ultra Dragons aphave no extra strength but it's this result and many others that make me believe they are completely wrong. To me, I believe the Ultra is the strongest dragon you can own followed by the unbreedable super rare and rare followed next by the breed able super rare. Most people believe nonbreedables are stronger only than rares but results appear to prove otherwise. I will start keeping logs.

13. Night Elf 16 < Noveau 10 bM Bonsai 10 lost
14. Plasma 18 < Warrior Princess 11 bmB what a night lost four times with Jade 10, three with Gilded Knight once with Black Pearl 10 and even threw in Noveau 10. could not believe how tough this dragon was. these usually go down fairly easily to Jade. I sure hope this isn't a sign for the rest if the tournament. Burned a couple of speed ups asI hate crashing on a losing note and not even sure why I tried the princess but glad I did. Might be time to give off to bed till noon anyhow, my schedule is a bit tipsy turkey due to yesterday's shots. . Will see how we fare later!


Day 3

15. Winter Soltice 20 < Twilight 10 bmM. Day started better than the last one finished.
16. Manticore 20 < Portal B K/O, Divine 10 lost once again proving my theory that unbreedable so will be stronger even with a bad point against them vs a supposedy stronger Super Rare breedable with no bad points. blue was weak against this dragon whereas green was strong and yet the Portal Won as did Noveau earlier.
17. Smoke 20 < Noveau 10 B K/O, Noveau is being a real warrior this tourney!
18. Starry Night 20 < Lightning 10 bM
19. Chameleons 12 < Helios 9 M k/o

Day 4 - Merry Xmas Everyone!

29. Black Cat 20 < Spirit Queen 10 bM this looked all wrong but it worked for Steven so I gave it a whirl and bam!
30. Black Ice 20 < Noveau 10 Mm what a warrior!

As I said earlier, Stefen, I avoid using epics against babies because quite often our babies win against the high level opponents in the later stages of the tournament therefore I figure if our babies can win against the epics, so can the opponent babies beat our epics. Whatever lets our babies win, it is reasonable to think it applies both ways.

I think they accidentally used the pattern of leveling up the opponents from a flash tournament on this regular 6 day tourney... That means that from round 15-30 all we get are level 20 opponents :confused::confused:

Merlin/Kooky, I've also had reports of different players having different level opponents - that is also unusual, isn't it? E.g. a Shadow 9, another faced a Shadow 10, Gingerbread I've had reported levels 3, 4, and 6. Of course, I didn't see the actual screens, but it seems odd.

I dont know of it is only a bug or bad programming but why are the dragons getting too fast so strong?New players dont have chance to win without having 250 gold or more...but there are two other things which are changed from elder tournaments which is unfair:

- Normally you get 5* Gold for defeating a 15,20,25 round dragon.Newely you get only 3.... sorry this must change back!
-Why are the 15,20,25 now more stronger than in the elder tournaments ??In old ones you had to defeat a lv10 Champion on stage 15 or a lv.9 better champion.Now you have to defeat a lv14. champion or whatever dragon which is stupid.Most players dont have all their best dragons on lv 15 or 11,also the time to manage enough food for one lv 15 only works when it was an event mission dragon which must be on lv13 to gain the DT dragon.... TL really believes we have 20 food farms or 1Million Gold to buy so much food.I hope a better crop is coming.

Sorry why is nobody noticing this small change.The prime dragon upcoming destroyed a lot of fun on tournaments when everything gets harder for non 24h DS players.:/

I saw that I'm way behind but the dragons lvl is higher than the round I'm on! A lvl 9 Shadow on round 6 or 7? This is not a good sign of things to come and with Christmas in the middle!! This is a way for us to give TL a huge Christmas present and pay their salaries for the next year. I really like this dragon and I say this now but I refuse to spend a single bit of gold on this tournament (I say this now but I hate not finishing what I start and I don't want to have to admire him on others islands lol) I saw this coming because this will be a landmine for them but really TL?? At Christmas?? SMH

The enemy type of Round 14 is Plasma lvl 18. The components of plasma are pink and purple. So I`ve beat it using Dragon Night lvl 6 and it was very easy. Because Pink is weak of black, and purple is one of the components of Black. Good Luck! :)

One of my sons has an issue with his foot and has been on crutches for 3weeks. MRI's and X-rays shows a possible tumor. Bone scan is set for the 26th. Trying to take care of him alone is crazy. I Was gone all day yesterday getting things done & ready and when I finally got to start the tourney I've shockingly stuck on round 2. I'm almost laughing. Will do my best to get through both the things going on in dragon land but my holidays and mental health are trumping it. God bless you all! A Level 20 dragon made an appearance at level 12 with a Level 20 Luck and now it seems that starting at round 15 the rest will be level 20s as
rounds 15-17 are at level 20. At least they are beatable dragons so far.

Sorry why is nobody noticing this small change.The prime dragon upcoming destroyed a lot of fun on tournaments when everything gets harder for non 24h DS players.:/

It was intentional. If you look at the description in the App Store for the most recent update, S8 said that the tournament would have the most difficult dragons yet. It's a underhanded way to force players to use more gold to complete the tournament. I guess when they added level 15 dragons, players were completing the tournaments too fast and without using gold. First the devs made Dragon Summoning is now impossible to finish without using hundreds of gold. Now tournaments being made harder so it forces players to use gold. If this is the direction the game is going, I doubt I'll be playing this and other S8 games much longer.

Hey, guys, good news to all of us!!! I just beat round 15 with my lvl. 8 Sunrise, bM, a few minutes ago and got 5 golds as the prize. We get 5 golds now in this tourney instead of 3 in round 15. I am not sure how much gold will we get in round 20 and 25, but since I got 5 golds here in round 15 then I assumed that we'll get the same prize (5 golds) in those critical rounds (20 & 25), glad they changed back the prize from 3 golds to 5 golds again, what a surprise for Christmas gift (instead of level 20 opponent start from round 12 which also a surprise for me), lol... :D and I hope the opponents in round 20 & 25 are not a Champion - type and let's hope there's no Diamond hybrids as opponent in latter rounds, good luck all!!! :)

ON the 18th round u r gonna expect a dragon, who is again 20 level..forgot the name, but the components were Water and Air..so u can easy show him the door, just using the Hermes dragon...which elements are magic and olympus :) R20 Chameleon dragon lvl 12...Yes, I was surprised level 12...OMG, Finally! So i used twice magic of my Firestorm lvl 10 dragon and win.
Don`t give up, If I can do it, everyone does.

I win it using Lovebird. My advise is - Try with some Light dragons, if u have a combo of Light and Green it will be perfect! :) Diamond can`t garantee succesful, cause they are a combination of 4 elements, some of them can be weak.

I think they accidentally used the pattern of leveling up the opponents from a flash tournament on this regular 6 day tourney... That means that from round 15-30 all we get are level 20 opponents :confused::confused:

I think you are correct. The opponent level for the first 18 rounds seems to be from an 18 round tournament. Now that I have reached round 19 it looks like it is returning to normal. Round 19 is a level 12 Chameleon.

Not doing well with this tournament as defeated dragons are reappearing. This has happened twice so I'm only on round 7 still. I know this has happened to others in the past and is so annoying. Are others players experiencing this problem?

You can avoid this by doing a couple things, first as soon as you defeat a dragon, visit a neighbor. Then come back and collect any coins plant crops etc but do not mine. Then do a force close. I used to have lots of the same issues but since doing this its disappeared and has never happened since. It's nothing but a comm sync error and not a bug.

I'm not sure I will get this one. An event and a tournament the week of Christmas....I hardly have time to get my family stuff pulled together for Christmas. One of my sons has an issue with his foot and has been on crutches for 3weeks. MRI's and X-rays shows a possible tumor. Bone scan is set for the 26th. Trying to take care of him alone is crazy. I Was gone all day yesterday getting things done & ready and when I finally got to start the tourney I've shockingly stuck on round 2. I'm almost laughing. Will do my best to get through both the things going on in dragon land but my holidays and mental health are trumping it. God bless you all! The dragon looks cool but not as cool as your son or sanity lol I (And this is just my opinion) think that this is just pure greed from TL and shows once again what they really think of their players. Now I do realize that this is a business and that they need to make money for the upgrades they don't do and all but to release a tournament at all 2 1/2 days before Christmas is horrible but then to add insult to injury make the opponent levels rise so quickly and be at level 20 from round what did I hear? 14 on? That's just pure greed. So I know I may have gotten a bit off track but I mean to basically say it's not even worth worrying about with what you have going on in real life. As someone else has responded and how crazy it may sound it works!! Lvl 1 or baby fire as I call it is what I always use against any diamond or champion also level 1 fruitful or firestorm even level 3 fruitful and firestorm are good. I have heard of many people who only use common dragons in tournaments. I waited forever to do my first tournament because I thought that I didn't have the dragons for it but it's amazing what will work. Don't give up there are 6 days left and you have come so far. You can do it!!!

I agree with you. Certainly seems there's a lot going on in the game. Requires a lot of time that I just don't have to give at the moment. I can't see myself surrounded by family and checking in on my game every hour. My husband wouldn't be thrilled. Plus we try and make holidays a "electronics away" time. My my kids will be confused if I try to play all day, kinda makes me sad that it's acceptable to put on events Christmas week. If there were no time limits that would be different. Imo anyway!

Usually you don't need to do so much. It should be enough to simply visit one neighbour or mine with one bomb/dynamite. That aways saves my progress (though I recommend to visit a neighbour because my game likes to crash in the mine).

Ughh, this is kind of difficult. When there aren't any Tournaments I usually pick the right dragons to fight with by pure instinct and I nearly always win. But during the Tournaments it's so much more difficult and I even try to go with the type advantages, but they don't seem to matter at all. It's a bit frustrating. It's mostly just trial and error.

Have you tried Fire or Forestfire, these have been used by 2 others and they seem to have had outstanding results with them. I have used Fire before and it has won with high level champions. Hope this may help and good luck!:)

I can imagine it definitely would be! I have a young son with mental illnesses and thank goodness for my older step son otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do any shopping at all! He has embarrassed me in a store more times than I care to count. Anyway I agree with you I can't even imagine checking my tablet every hour tomorrow and right now I'm only on round 11 and can't beat it!! Good luck if you try before and after but yeah I agree tomorrow should be about family. We lost my aunt at the end of August so I also now have the care of her mentally disabled daughter and just the fact that she isn't here and my only other family, my mom,daughter and granddaughter, live 2,200 miles away from us. So I kinda feel like just grabbing everyone and not letting go as my aunt was not sick it was sudden. It's just a dragon in a game not worth losing time with our family!! Anyway I hope that didn't sound preachy lol Have a Merry Christmas and Good things in the new year to come

I'm only on round 8? Fighting familiar 9 times didn't help. Round 2! I'm having stupid losses and I just don't get it.
And....I hear ya! I lost my mom a few years back, have had illness in my kids that was pretty serious & 2 Christmas's ago I was using a walker and not doing anything for Christmas because I had kidney cancer and I had just had my kidney removed a few weeks prior. Battling cancer and having the loss I've had it just puts things in a different light. I'm blessed to have this time with my kids, it easily could have gone the other way. All my family time is precious. I also try not to sweat the small stuff, and remind myself often that it's all small stuff!
Bless you for being a mom to a special needs kiddo and for being the angel for your aunts daughter. You deserve the highest kudos I can give. My oldest is adhd and Tourette's and I know that pales in comparison and I know how hard my small stuff is! You have a lot! God bless you and yours! Xoxo

So just some jokers from me:
Round 29 Black Cat Dragon lvl 20 < Rainbow lvl 10 - i used just once magic and fall the kitty down.
Round 30 Black Ice Dragon lvl 20 < Rainbow lvl 10 - it was the same, just using once the magic
I finished this tournament just with one fail on Round 3....and 29 wins from first attempt. I am really proud of my Rainbow dragon.

I'm only on round 8? Fighting familiar 9 times didn't help. Round 2! I'm having stupid losses and I just don't get it.
And....I hear ya! I lost my mom a few years back, have had illness in my kids that was pretty serious & 2 Christmas's ago I was using a walker and not doing anything for Christmas because I had kidney cancer and I had just had my kidney removed a few weeks prior. Battling cancer and having the loss I've had it just puts things in a different light. I'm blessed to have this time with my kids, it easily could have gone the other way. All my family time is precious. I also try not to sweat the small stuff, and remind myself often that it's all small stuff!
Bless you for being a mom to a special needs kiddo and for being the angel for your aunts daughter. You deserve the highest kudos I can give. My oldest is adhd and Tourette's and I know that pales in comparison and I know how hard my small stuff is! You have a lot! God bless you and yours! Xoxo

Awe you are making me blush here :) You just do what you have to do it's family never thought twice about it but now I feel very ashamed even whining about that with all that you have gone through!! My aunt was an amazing woman who was always very good to me my whole life and helped me with my son when nobody else wanted anything to do with him so she deserves to rest in peace with no worries about her daughter and I plan to do just that! As for my son I have been to Dr after Dr for the whole 9 years of his life. He didn't sleep through the night until he was 3 1/2 and that's because the Drs had some compassion for me and put him on melatonin and he has been on it ever since. Before they were legally allowed to diagnose add they diagnosed odd then at 6 when allowed to be treated add and it's weird that you said Tourette's because at 7 I think he was diagnosed with that but I am not noticing any ticks now but his behavior is so horrific that we are at what they call bipolar in kids it's disruptive mood disregulation disorder just because of the stigma of bipolar they don't want that label to follow them their whole lives if somehow they are wrong or whatever and my cousin has schizoaffective disorder. She is 22 but she is basically on the same level as my son. Look at me just going on and on lol I'm sorry I know that this isn't what this thread is about and I apologize to all others seeking help with their battles. You should add me though maybe we could help each other get through all of this.

I do need help with Night Elf though all! I really did come here for advice lol. I have lost to him numerous times on all 3 of my islands

The Battle Tournament is finished for me. I have got a BLACK ICE DRAGON. No I can enjoy of the christmas eve. The BLACK ICE DRAGON is in my storage, cause I should wait 15 hours to hatch my Sunrise Dragon, because it is placed in the nest now. NOw i should keep forward for the Festive Light Dragon, I have got 97 pieces at that moment and need of 2 more. Do u know when it will be finished this prize? I hope that i will have it this night.

So just some jokers from me:
Round 29 Black Cat Dragon lvl 20 < Rainbow lvl 10 - i used just once magic and fall the kitty down.
Round 30 Black Ice Dragon lvl 20 < Rainbow lvl 10 - it was the same, just using once the magic
I finished this tournament just with one fail on Round 3....and 29 wins from first attempt. I am really proud of my Rainbow dragon.
If someone needs help , I am glad to give an advise.

The components of champion dragons are BLACK + RED...and in the color chart is written , that the black type dragons hates WHITE, GREEN and RAINBOW....The other component of Champion dragons is red, as I said, so again when you look the color chart...u can see that red is weak when red i s battleing against STONE - stone is a combination of green and white elements. @kooky - don't know if you saw my earlier post ... being in a different time zone from me.... still believe that there is a huge bug... the pattern of opponents level matches exactly the one used for flash tournaments ... and then we have another 12 battles of Lv 20 opponents to beat until round 30

Could you please check with the developers if this is a mistake or if the set up is intentional ... Thank you
It's pretty obvious that we have a flash and a regular tournament at the same time.
The first 18 rounds are exactly as in a flash tournament and the rest 12 rounds are exaclty as the last 12 rounds of a regular tournament!
But, unfortunately, with this pattern the tournament is way too difficult to be finished...
I hope it's only a mistake and not intentional too!

My dueler is currently evolving to level 10 & I have no other champions and no diamonds. I've tried all types that I have that the chart says to use for pink & purple. Still hasn't worked. Oh no. I spent a day on round 2. Can you even wrap your mind around that?!? So sorry you are dealing with this and to all of you I'm reading about who have/are stuck on a dragon forever! I stand behind my feelings about a loss limit. We don't deserve this silliness.
