I'm completely in agreement with the theory that this tournament is more like a short tournament, based on those difficult level 20 dragons in the middle rounds. It is not like any 30 round tournament I have ever experienced. I'm usually nearing the last couple of opponents by now, but actually I just hit Black Knight, and I know he will take some beating. And as for having a tournament right across Christmas; hardly festive spirit. Fortunately for me I've had a few relatives borrowing the iPad for various reasons, and I enlist them to battle a round for me while they have it!

I got it with skeletal knight after skeletal knight and warrior princess both lost. I also lost lots of other that worked for others... Tried champ if you have. It may take more than one try by the same champ.. Good luck!

Black Ice is captured! Quetzal level 10 won with 3 magic attacks. I used magic because bmm from Diamond 15 wasn't enough, but the magic strikes had been strong.

Very happy! Now if I could just breed Future..... *sigh*

Black cat was difficult but eventually won with repeated attacks with RS ..... My special fighter along with my highlander made life easier

I eliminated DARK ANGEL, using HERMES DRAGON lvl 10 ( it is combination of olympus and purple). Good luck!

I got Luck with Cursed Rose 10 with one bash. Try a high level black 3 element dragon like Flametail, Cursed Rose, etc but make sure it's a super rare dragon.

I beat lvl20 using METAL MB. I have also beat alot of lvls and Battles using SCORPION lvl 9. SCORPION has worked wonders for me on a lot. If he don't work, MISTMOTH lvl 8 usually works.

Just completed the tournament and black ice is now in storage till a nest frees up. Have a bunch of waters clogging me right now! By far Noveau was my warrior this time winning at least five rounds. Spirit queen also took a couple and Diamond and Angel also did there cleanup work. So I guess it was an Ultra tournament for me. I only used a champ in one round and that was because I was lazy. Even tho a couple rounds gave me a bit of grief, namely plasma and shell I thoroughly enjoyed this tournament. Both of the toughies went down once I took a break and came back. Tournaments are finally getting easier for me although I certainly have to think and take my time! Full results on page 3 if anyone is interested.

Tournament finished(1st time I finished this early). This tourney gave me more trouble.. But I made it. If interested my battle wins are on my wall. But they are listed one by one. I only use Bashes. If a dragon is used several times, the level of the dragon is just written the first time used. So if having a difficult time with those stubborn dragons this tourney, come on by and visit.

Black Ice looks really cool. At first I actually thought it's a new Diamond Dragon. And I love that it has the animation of Goldleaf! (though Goldleaf breathes golden leaves and Black Ice simply sighs :D)

This tournament was definitely tougher than the last one, but still easier than other tournaments. Maybe because I have better dragons now? But I don't think I would've made it without using any gold if we didn't have holidays.

Maple and Banshee basically carried it all on their own again.
Dueler surprised me a lot, though! My Champions usually suck, but Dueler won six times without losing once. That's pretty amazing! Maybe I should give him a new chance to prove himself :)

Keep healing and trying rainbow against shell. It took me a couple tries with rainbow and lollipop, but I won with rainbow.

It's truly ridiculous. I'm not going to rant and rave, simple stating I just can't believe I can be a long long time player with 35 plus champs, every diamond/diamond hybrid but one..several of many, not to mention special event and prize dragons and I can't get past any round without losing 8-10 dragons. Oh round 14 took 28 hrs and an ultimate. I say it a lot but I don't know how much longer I'm going to invest in this game. Money or time.

Warning: This is a bit of a rant.
This tournament is a joke - simply a money-grab disguised as a tournament. I finished rounds 1-24 with only 2 casualties and thought this might be my first tournament ever finished on a Friday. By early Thursday afternoon I had reached round 25, something unheard of for me. Fast-forward to Sunday afternoon, and I am still on round 25. Yes, I could use ultimate, but since I have used gold over the holidays to purchase dragons and habitats, I only have enough left for one ultimate. I don't want to spend that gold, only to find myself stuck again and "invested" in a lost cause. Tournaments shouldn't be easy, but they should be winnable. Here is a partial list of the dragons I have lost in round 25:

My only level 3 is Griffin, and it lost. Also lost level 4 Sweet Tooth. I really think this is one of those rounds where the only way I can win is with an ultimate. Very frustrating.

Yea I don't think advice was what you were looking for. Sometimes venting feels better then doing nothing. I knew I was in for it when it took 9 tries to best round 2. It's not been much better since. I'm on 20. I'm gonna have to spend gold now. Not sure I'm gonna do that.

Very happy to have Black Ice on the nest! Now I can go to sleep. Had to use 9 gold to speed and finally ultimated Black Ice because it's very late here. So it cost me 39 gold altogether because I didn't battle almost at all for 2 days because of Christmas. But since we got 5 gold from 3 rounds, the actual cost was only 24 gold. Not bad!

I can't believe it, but I finally beat Black Knight with my level 13 Maple. Over 45 attempts!

I had tried uninstalling/reinstalling, but to no avail. Then I let my son play on his island on my phone. When I logged back in, I won the round with 2 hits.

Playing non stop when I woke up, I love using only commons dragons but due to time constrain I have to pull out the big ***s... I only use my Favourite 4 dragons for this fight...

I am really sorry to know you are facing such problem . First of all , please check up your storage and see whether Black Ice Dragon is already there . If Yes , you need not worry , since such thing has happened for other players also in past . What is showing in Battle Arena ? Does it say , round 31 or some thing Odd ? Then take Snap Shot n mail immediately to Storm 8 . They must give you the dragon . In any case , write immediately to Storm 8 . Also if there is no Dragon in storage , please check up again at Reset time . Mostly , you might find in Storage ! Best of Luck

The tournament ended some days ago, but we are still waiting for an official reply about the strange pattern of the opponents' levelling.

@kooky - don't know if you saw my earlier post ... being in a different time zone from me.... still believe that there is a huge bug... the pattern of opponents level matches exactly the one used for flash tournaments ... and then we have another 12 battles of Lv 20 opponents to beat until round 30

Could you please check with the developers if this is a mistake or if the set up is intentional ... Thank you
