Is your farm ready for an event?

Is your farm ready for an event?... An event is like a marathon, you need to train for it way way ahead. You don't start training for a marathon a few days or a week before it starts, so neither do you for events. Therefore start your event preparation today or as soon as you can.

Every event is time critical and has challenges like goals, luck element or drop rates etc. While we cannot control these factors, we can certainly put ourselves in better ("fitter") position by building up our farm resources. Farms lacking resources have higher odds in finishing the event.

earn coins (events always use up coins).
stock up gems by sending trains or buy while on offer.
stock up mining tools.
stock up difficult to find craft items.

Time is also a resource - members who don't have much play time can make up for it using coins and gems.

1. Coins
Coins give you the luxury to purchase crafts for deliveries instead of having to craft. The more deliveries you sent, the better your chances of getting drops. You can buy more trees (in this instance) to get more presents to make up for the shortfall from your collection.

2. Gems
Gems give you the luxury to gem an upgrade part, through a goal or advance goal days etc. When the grand prize is pet, I think it's worth using some gems to get it than not at all. After all, a gem pet in the Market or tree house easily costs minimum of 180 gems, what more is a limited event pet? Ok, some members may not be able to afford to buy gems, send your trains instead to earn gems.

From my past experiences, having these resources does put my farm in a better and fitter position to compete in an event. If you don't, you will need to put in more effort or be realistic of your odds. I hope sharing this will help those struggling farmers to be better prepared for future events. Thanks for reading.

Not sure what type of event will the next event be but no harm preparing for it in the mean time..

stock up difficult to find craft items

THANKS rynetory2 for the tips!
Also,
*1). Can you help us know what you mean by 'difficult to find craft items'? Can you give us some examples?
*2). Should we continue to craft snowmen, peppermint bark, etc... ? Will they continue to show up in the deliveries?

There is no definite answer to this question as difficult to find crafts depends on..
(1) your current farm level and what you can craft
(2) what you cant find in your neighbours' shops and newspaper

However I will try to give you some suggestions which I have highlighted in blue. You can adjust to your situation accordingly. Fellow members feel free to add your suggestions too. :)

I will use the train list to save myself retyping the crafts items, just ignore the numbers next to the item as that number is for the train list.

Thanks. I see some things in that list that I can definitely begin stocking. I almost forgot about mining!

Hello everyone,

With a new event coming up in a few days, I decided to compile a list of commonly used items that are helpful to stock up on for making crafts for deliveries. It may just be me, but when making items like Cotton Candy for deliveries, it is a pain in the neck when I need to do multiple steps to make a single item, then I forget often as well:

(If I have time later I will add the number of crafts that use each item as well)

Bait Shop: Any type of bait
Bakery: Bread
Candy Maker: Simple Syrup
Chocolatier: Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate
Diary: Cheese, Cream, Butter
Dehydrator: Raisins
Floral Shop: Red vase
Kitchen: Corn syrup
Sauce Maker: Carmel Sauce
Studio: Buttons
Sugar Spinner: Chocolate Cotton Candy, Maple Cotton Candy
Windmill: Flour, White Sugar, Powdered Sugar, Brown Sugar, Corn Starch

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know! :)

Good post Paul!

My adds would be feed and collect from your pets, as well as make deliveries to build up an arsenal of pick axes, shovels, and saws. Also plant trees to be ready to chop down and pick fruit, especially long-time growers like oranges.
Also remember items like coffee and tea since there’s no boost flag for the cafe and many of the drinks take a long time to make.
