I think you get the sparkles from the elf that comes into the bakery but I don't know how often he comes.

I got a deal for gems come up on the side of my game $1.99 for 60 gems, 2 counters (which are the goal counters) and 20 floor tiles. I bought the gems but have no intention of using them for goals especially if it started off needing 48 who know how many you would have to spend to complete them!!

I have no issue with buying gems. I just bought some on the deal they are offering but I don't think we should be forced to buy items we may not want with them in order to complete a goal. I think goals should be open for all to do and have fun with. This game is loaded with enough gem items!!

Now back to my game to see if the elf turns up....lol!

My problem is that my iPad physically won't allow me to purchase gems. I've spent forever working with TL, S8, iTunes, Apple support and no one can get my iPad to process the charges. So I literally can not get any more gems. Sucks to be me

In RS2 we have events similar to this one, with a recurring character who drops items we need to make a recipe. The elf will be back, though I am up to 1hrs and 45 minutes. Sure do wish she'd hurry up, already!! Tempted to buy the $2.29 deal, just to get on with things!

Me either :( S8 were pretty brave with this decision. I'm not sure they'll get much out of these high prices this early in the game. Nevertheless, I will try my very hardest to complete the main goal :) (has anyone noticed that the level cap has been raised? It seems to be around 35 now)

I'd love to help out with a guide but VanaCatu is away and she knows how to do all the awesome stuff!

I was very surprised all of this holiday content showed up, but seeing how most of the items are gem base in a heavy way, it wasn't worth it in the end. I only liked the snowman (had 40 gems anyways) so I bought him. I personally think the tree that cost coins was a lot cuter then the one that cost gems (looked like a shape of champagne bottle to me).

A little note to the devs... If you lower gem prices, more of us would buy into the game more. It's a win-win.

Got very excited when I woke up and saw the Christmas event... only to be disappointed to find out that two out of three events require lots of gems to do them (don't even know if they are one step only or if more gems have to be spent later)... With no way to get gems except for buying them I refuse to spend real money on decorations and such... there is no room for them anyway (expansions being so expensive)

So I guess I just focus on the one quest chain that seems not to require any gems so far... too bad, I was looking forward to do sthg new since collecting enough coins to do the quests on Lv 22 and above becomes somewhat tedious

I had this problem when the goal first appeared. When I clicked she didn't drop anything and left but came right back. Again dropped nothing and left. Since then she's been dropping spice so hopefully just a weird little glitch.

Im annoyed with myself for buying that stupid snowman by accident. I like the decor and still have 100 gems left, but im not about to waste them on something that will need to be replaced in two weeks.

I wish the game was more like RS2, in that we spend one price on decor for tables/chairs and counters and it covers everything. But then again, they'd probably charge 50 gems for the chairs!

Im still playing, but the cost of everything is off putting. 150.000 coins for my next expansion. Huge prices to learn recipes and only a few recipes that gives us any real decent money.

Its definitely taking after its predecessor for sure. Double prices on everything!

I guess Jenny is the girl from the first shop (Sugar, flour, etc.) and that when she comes to the bakery, she will drop the little thing you need for the goal

Jenny will come into your bakery and give you the gingerbread cutters. She comes the same time as the elf every two hours.

i don't know why u guys complain that the goals are gem heavy :)

as we can see, different steps and mastery levels give us various rewards like gingerbread table, gingerbread man, etc...
and the goals don't say "buy the stuff", they say "PLACE the stuff".
i can suppose that further steps of "holiday spirit" will give us more stuff, and we can place it to complete "family" and "taste of holiday" storylines...

i don't know why u guys complain that the goals are gem heavy :)

as we can see, different steps and mastery levels give us various rewards like gingerbread table, gingerbread man, etc...
and the goals don't say "buy the stuff", they say "PLACE the stuff".
i can suppose that further steps of "holiday spirit" will give us more stuff, and we can place it to complete "family" and "taste of holiday" storylines...

... means, these two goals are not first, but LAST. we can complete them while we go through really FIRST one, "holiday spirit".

it wd be logic, coz we didn't have yet the ways to get gems from game progress.



This is not the case. Gems must be spent to complete the goals involving the gem items. A moderator here said as much yesterday in a thread that they have since deleted. The wording used was along the lines of "these goals are not required and will be deleted if you don't complete them in 20 days". Suggesting that first, we should feel okay about the fact they're forcing gems to be spent because this is a non-mandatory part of their game and second, yes gems are required to complete these goals.

No, you need to get Candy Canes to Mastery level 2 (Artisan), and peppermint mocha to Mastery level 1 (Novice). Far more time consuming.

Indeed. I think the gingerbread/cookie cutter situation is gonna be the hardest part (or at least it better be!). Needing 3 cookie cutters from someone who only visits every 3 hours (& might only drop 1!!!) Am I the only one who finds it really outlandish that we have to cook gingerbread cookies TEN times to get to novice level? ((I hope we don't need ginger/gingerbread/cookie cutters for anything else!))

I'm having issue with steps not staying registered either. Part 4 should've been done when I just finished the last mocha and then it reset the candy cane part. So I forced closed and now neither show anything.


I deleted the app and reset iPad and now it seems to be working ok. It went to step 5 where it's supposed to be.

To the post above me-try deleting again. I deleted on Tuesday and was still stuck. Tried again yesterday and the game finally moved me to 5. My only problem is sometimes the elf glitches when she drops. I check my stock before I click on her just for that reason.

I have an iphone 6s.
Level 7 of goal was not registering progress in my game either.
I "force close" my games each time I'm done with them as I dont want to risk using too much wifi with programs open &
running in background.
Before deleting & reinstalling the game , I tried turning my phone off then back on and that worked to get step 7 to register
game progress.

I think it's rediculous that as a player, I had no idea my game wasn't progressing until I read about the problem on this thread then took a
look at my game - and it was the candy cane recipe that i had mastered but wasn't registering that I could tell there was a problem.

There appeared to be a couple of fixes: Ability to DELETE all of Liam's note's from pantry and then suddenly Liam started occasionally dropping coins instead of constant unneeded notes. Fine, I can handle that.

But now it seems, Noelle the Elf is displaying the same troublesome issues Liam initially presented: She is cramming my pantry with 17 "fairy dust bottles" I do not want or need. I cannot figure out how to delete them. The same "delete" from pantry feature I used with Liam's notes is not present. But NOELEE is taking up valuable pantry real estate and it is frustrating. I do not see any ability to DELETE any or ALL of Noelle's droppings.

Can anyone offer some advice? Thanks.

oh yeah - to get rid of the jars of sprinkles just take a few minutes to make the frosting - its fast, easy.

You can cook candy canes to use up your current stock of winter spices quickly and not tap on the Elf as Beecause suggested until you need more.

I am the complete opposite - I ran out of winter spices and wish I have as many as you. The new recipes ask for more winter spices as you advance through the goals so it's good that you have a healthy stock. :)

I was/am a bit grumpy about having to make 10 Gingerbread men for two goals (they take ages, even with good luck) but that fruitcake recipe is aweeeeeeeeesome. 8 coins per serving and super easy-to-get ingredients. I, too, have a huge pile of Winter Spices.

Opened up my game, served all the food, started cooking, gathered ingredients, including ginger. Went to cook ginger bread and there was no ginger. Went back to re get and the clock says I have to wait hours until the next collection. Sucks.the gingerbread cookies are hard enough to make without sync issues.

Use up the ingredients then don't tap on the elf.

I don't want the drop rates changed for two reasons. 1. Most of us don't have enough of the ingredients and 2. The last time Liam's rate was adjusted, it was adjusted too low and now most of us are struggling to get enough notes to upgrade in a timely manner before out inventory fills up. In a timed event we can't have less drops.

I agree. I honestly don't know how some players have too many winter spices if they are participating in the event. I'm struggling to get enough personally. I even have 2 timers set on my phone: a 2 hour one (for winter spices) and a 3 hour one (for cookie cutters).

The ginger bread men are definitely a challenge, but at least we still have about 18 days to finish. I'm hoping the later goals can be done a little more quickly.

I don't understand why you have extra winter spices.. we need them for all the recipes.. and we need to master all the recipes.. just use them to master recipes beforehand.. the peppermint mocha frappe has to be cooked a total of 35 (10+10+15) times.. and same with all other recipes.. the fruitcake needs 2 at a time if I am not mistaken..

I was just on the Rs2 forum because many of us are in the same boat over there too. Not enough snowflakes to make holiday cheer to get the goals done and someone posted a picture of hundreds upon hundreds of the snowflakes I can barely get a few each day. This inequity in the games across the board is unfair. It needs to be more balanced. Drop rates need to be even across the board and only dependent on the s**** and/or time/amount of collecting the player does

I agree. What is the point of making it a chance of a 2/3/4 cookie cutter drop instead of just making it 3 everytime? Unlucky people may never even finish while others get 3/4 everytime. But what's truly unfair is this bug...people are stuck on the 4th/7th goal and most likely won't be able to finish the goals at all.

Perhaps! But I just got 15 gems for installing Hungry Babies! I'm sure I'll lose them in a gem trap lol! This is why I won't buy! For people who buy I would be annoyed though!

This is the worst part! After you cook 10 times you have to do another 10 times to get to artisan level! Geez! I only have one mixer that needs to make all the ingredients and ginger is so scarce!

Yes, S8 said they fixed the issue, but some are still not able to pass mastering goals (4 & 7). I solved it by deleting and reinstalling the game. I hope something works for you soon :)

Due to the rate these cookie cutters drop it is not likely I will finish these goals. If they want to do a timed drop they could at least drop the amount required. I seem to get 2 each time. I've only been able to make 3 gingerbread recipes per day and now I have to master up to 15. I do not have the time to keep visiting the game every 2-3 hours!! Please review this when doing goals again. We have a life outside of gaming!

I'm currently on goal 11/16 and I've mastered all the available holiday recipes except the gingerbread cookies. I'm only 4 away from mastering that one though, so I should be done it by tomorrow... possibly tonight if I'm lucky with cookie cutter drops. I'll be happy to finally be done with the gingerbread cookies, but I have a feeling the final recipe for the gingerbread house will be just as difficult. I'll see soon enough.

I used to only keep 3+ coin dishes but now due to the holiday recipies I keep only 5+ coin plates. My earnings have jumped considerably up to almost over 100k a day. Of course, if you do not like the thought of simply deleting food, then this solution may not work for you.

I mastered those recipe a ''long'' time ago, I just make them for goals or to go order now and only make high value recipe but still, those counters are way too full to be cleared in a few days.

I was almost positive the Gingerbread house would require cutters since you need to master the cookies to unlock it and once you've mastered the cookies there really isn't any point to making more of them. Why waste your precious gingerbread and winter spices on a recipe that no longer gives a reward?

Since the Gingerbread house appears to be the last holiday recipe the cookie cutters seem to be useless now. I've collected a few extras, but I think I'll end up deleting them from my inventory eventually.

I am using the first oven (clear blue top) only for the Christmas recipe, all other recipe in it are mastered. For the oven with the dark blue top, I only have cookie left to mastered (90/100) so I keep on baking cookie.

It takes an hour and twenty eight minutes to make the ingredients for one house, up to 6 hours to get the Winter Spices if your luck is poor, and then 8 hours to bake it. Best case scenario you're making 2 houses every 9.5 hours, worst case you could be looking at 14 hours for a single house. And you have to make, I assume, 15 minimum to complete goal 16, right?

With the best possible luck AND waking up at night to keep cooking ingredients and goal items, that's 6 straight days of baking for just Gingerbread houses. With bad luck you're looking at about 9 days of just waiting and baking gingerbread houses. And then there are the people who haven't even made it to goals 12-16 yet because of bad luck on cookie cutters.

Who came up with this? It's not well designed and it's incredibly imbalanced. I feel like the goals were just thought up and then thrown in without actually doing the math on just how long these would take with various RNG outcomes. And again, I say this as someone who actually has the capacity to finish even with bad luck at this point. Next time maybe make a spreadsheet to make sure the goals are actually possible to achieve without good luck on one of the parts and waking up in the middle of the night to cook more items.

As a lesser criticism, it's really, really boring that almost all of the ingredients come from a single appliance.

I agree with you, and I also want to add that with the multiple issues that occurs with these goals (the achievement of different cooking level AND recipe locking for no reason even if you are already baking them), it makes those goals not fun to succeed.

I have been working my baking fingers off but can only get 1 maybe 2 if lucky, holiday spice so can't make more than one or two ginger bread to make the cookies OR make one or two eggnogs a day. No way can do more with my current drop rates

Thanks for your input. I always cook the most coins dishes. I only cook the others if I need them. It just feel that with this even the MIXER is just non stop.

Did anyone else have this happen. It says I have to learn it. All the other Christmas recipes have automatically unlocked with each goal completed. Maybe they've realized the goals cannot be completed in time? Even with it unlocked it doesn't change the fact of not enough winter spice for all these recipes!!

It doesn't fix the problem without the drop rate changing and then there's getting enough ginger. 4 ginger every two hours is not going to get the job done!!

When I hit learn it instantly made a gingerbread house. But now I'm out of ginger and winter spice! So can't make anymore of either for many hours. 4 ginger every two hours means I can only make 2 bread every 4 Hours. So it will take 6 hours of waiting for ginger to make one gingerbread house and that doesn't help with the fact I still have 5 gingerbread men to make!

Wow, your drop rate must be amazing! I've no cutters and 0 winter spice as I just used them on the gingerbread house. I've also no ginger so can't make anything for many hours.

Ok, I don't know what they are doing but since the change my 20k+ servings of peanut butter balls have all gone!! :mad:
I went to serve some and it told me there weren't enough counters. I shouldn't have needed a new counter because I already had a counter with loads on. Then I looked there was one empty counter and no peanut butter balls. 20k+ took a lot of time not to mention all that profit lost!!

Hi everyone! We are aware of two issues which are preventing players from progressing properly on the Holiday Spirit quest line.

If you are experiencing an issue with your mastery level of a recipe not updating for one of the following quests, please see below:

Holiday Spirit 4/16
Holiday Spirit 7/16
Holiday Spirit 9/16
Holiday Spirit 11/16
You will need to complete any other tasks within the quest, then force close and restart the app. As long as all other tasks are completed, this should auto-complete the quest for you and allow you to proceed in the quest line.

If you are experiencing an issue with one of the following recipes being locked in your game, please see below:

Egg Nog
Fruitcake
Lil Gingerbread House
Gingerbread
These recipes have now been unlocked. You may need to force close and restart your game to see the update. In order to learn the recipe, you will need to gather the ingredients. There is no coin cost and the learning process is instantaneous. There will still be a cooking time for further orders of these recipes.

They are fixing the bugs that are preventing some players from completing the goals altogether.

OH everyone is gonna hate me now....all I can say is that I made a point of collecting for the 2 days I was stuck on step 4 with the first (of many!!) glitches in this event. She always drops 2-3 for me.

Wow. This is the first time-limited quest in this game, but this is also the hardest (compared with RS2). I hate making the frostings and gingerbread because my mixer is always busy. Also I never have enough of the winter spices, which makes it impossible to bake anything. I'm still at step 9 and I don't see myself completing this, it's impossible. I'm not giving up, but I think that Storm8 staff need to make the next events easier and more enjoyable. Otherwise I will delete this game soon.

Steps:
- Serve Candy Canes x 3
- Reach Artisan Level of Lil Gingerbread House
- Reach Master Level of Eggnog
Reward: Frosty Counter x 1

Candy Canes Recipe:
2 peppermint, 1 winter spice, 5 sugar (2 minutes 15 seconds)

Lil Gingerbread House Recipe:
3 winter spice, 3 gingerbreads, 4 peppermint frostings, 2 sugar frostings (8 hours)
Lil Gingerbread House mastery: 5 / 5 / ?

Eggnog Recipe:
2 winter spices, 3 milk, 5 eggs, 1 peppermint frosting (1 hour)
Eggnog mastery: 5 / 8 / 12
