Changes in the TV Icon

My game used to offer 1 gold for watching an ad. Now it's only offering 100 food for watching the ad (as my other minor game has done since showing up). My clearing of a moldy Boulder is 36 hours... So I used my ads to shave time.

Any other changes in the game that anyone's noticed today? I'm paranoid now.

Most of us never had ads at all. You were test subjects. So anything you got was better than what the rest of us got! LOL

Although to be honest, I prefer no ads.

I had the 1 hour off feature and now my icon is gone.

edit- I contacted support and now my icon is back. ( but I am still getting the 1 hour off... Kooky needs more food!!)

I've never had the opportunity to get gold or food from ads, but 100 food isn't worth watching ads IMO I have other things to do.

Sorry for any confusion! The feature is still in development, so changes will still likely happen. Some people will now be getting 100 Food now for this. No one should have lost the ability to access this feature unless they recently switched devices.

Since it's still under development, I'll throw in my 2 cents. We have several games in our family, some offer reducing time and others offered gold. Our gold bonuses have switched to 100 food as well. While I appreciate all bonuses, I have to say I can't see being eager to forego doing something else for 100 food. Gold, absolutely. I made sure I got on my iPad as soon as it was time. So, if all of neighbors were visited, emails responded to, etc., maybe I'd watch a couple...otherwise, nope. Those 3 gold were awesome!

My main concern is the suitability of the ads. Can't stand the gambling ads or the bloodthirsty ones.

Ads are not on my DS, but saw them on other Storm 8 games when earning rewards. Some were OK, but If I had kids, I'd be concerned. There needs to be a way for parents to switch off the feature, I think. Or even adults to be able to opt out. One of the slots ads is almost pornographic.

Ditto this. I rather liked getting up to 3 gold for watching ads. Mine switched to food the other day when I was REALLY depending on that extra 3 gold to purchase something I needed. Oh well. I hope they decide to keep the option to watch ads for gold & switch it back to what the players actually need. I can't see many of us watching ads for 300 food. It's like you said...maybe if I have nothing better to do.

This being said - it's much better than pop-up ads. I do hope they never go to this. It's one of the things I love about TL games. Other game companies have pop-up ads and they are so annoying.

I may not have paid for this game, but I have spent lots of money ON this game, so I hope to never see pop-up advertisements.

To me the 1 hour off is way better. 100 food is peanuts compared to what that Beast ate, but you can use your 1 hour when behind in the tales, to speed healing in a tourney, or to get instant rushrooms - 300 food! Of course, I would choose gold if I had a choice but I've never been given it.

I can only say the TV icon has a mind of its own. I get the food offer most of the time, then for a few hours a day I get 1 hour off as an option, on some accounts only. And very often the ad doesn't load?

Hmm... now that my free gift has changed to 100 food, my videos don't load anymore. That kinda sucks. Oh well. :/

Strange, I sent a dispariging email to support about getting glib scripted replies about concerns regarding this game, now my TV icon for food has disappeared.

Constructive criticism should always be welcomed.

I was never offered gold, but used it to shave time off. Then, abut three months ago, it stopped working- I'd watch the ad, the hour would get chaved off then the game would glitch and the hour would come back on. Repeated emails to tech support never got responded to, so... <shrug>

If you are having issues with this feature, please send an email to support@storm8.com so your game can be checked. If you have have already sent in an email and it has been over 10 days with no response, please send me a private message with your support ticket number.

Also please note, that storm 8 does not remove features from individual games just because you email or post negative feedback about the games.

Mine has gone too. But I used to get six adverts per day? Lucky me I guess!
It was very useful during the events where you collect pillows because you can speed up the farms and gain food as well as an extra pillow!

Yes I have also lost this. I had the speed up one hour and actually thought this was really useful. Finding out what other variations have been with other players I reckon I would have picked this option over most except the gold.

I don't have my tv ads anymore either. A week or 2 since I've had one. Mine would give you an hour off of certain action. It as a nice addition to the game. Hope it's coming back.

Mine are gone as well. But with them removing the ability to watch ads in RS I fear they may be scrapping the feature in all of their games, eventually. I hope I am wrong.

I always thought it was strange they were offering ads for their competition, especially when many were in direct competition with their own games.

The Video watch is a great thing but it is lost since weeks,I thought TL could fix it until March but nothing is going on.
Is it only me that the video add is gone?The support only said we are working on it but I cant believe that it take so long.How much got this too?I want them back!:rolleyes:
