Disappointed that the reward for the rounds are Bob-Bons again. Whatever happened to tokens in addition to the normal reward for winning a round. It still cost me 2,500 coins to fight each time.

Round 8: Had to lose sometime. I wanted a strong Earth to battle Cosmic. Tried Electric/Earth first and lost. Switched to Halloween/Earth and won.
Round 12: Treent has never been a good fighter for me but I thought I would give him a try. Won on the second try.
Round 13: Decided to attack Earth rather than Valentine and went with my Crystal Unicorn. Took two tries to win.
Round 17: I expected better out of the doubly strong Saintly Bernard. It loses the first two times but wins on the third try. First round with multiple loses.
Round 18: Zapre takes out the Gem hybrid on the 3rd try.
Round 25: A disappointing round. The Crystal Unicorn is a perfect match against Earth/Nature and an Ultra Rare to boot. Usually get stuck somewhere, but it surprises me that its this round, with 4 losses.
Round 27: This calls for a Water/Earth combination. Water is strong to both Halloween and Fire and Earth is strong against Fire. Glacial Griffin loses 4 times. Second 4 loss round, I wonder if that is the magic number. It's annoying to lose multiple times when you have a perfect match other than level.
Round 28: I decided to go with a strong Nature combination rather than use Santa Claws like I normally do. Not bad, won on the second try. Starting with round 20 when I no longer have a level advantage, I am trying to use only animals that are currently breedable to see if there is a difference between animals bred and animals won or limited.
Round 29: Same as round 25. Crystal Unicorn is perfect match but loses first time. Fortunately, it wins the second time leaving one more round to go.

Conclusion: A good finish allowed me to tie the best record I have had in a 30 round tournament at 30-19.

Notes on specific rounds:

#18: I was very surprised to pass the Pearl Peryton on the very first attempt already!

#20: In round 20 something very strange happened. First I lost once with the Blizard and won it on the next attempt. Then an hour later I went in for round 21, it first showed the Terradactyl as an opponent but when I fought the round I was on the Rampage again! I had chosen the QQ as a fighter then (not the ideal choice for fighting earth-fire), which scored a critical hit and I passed the round. Then, one hour after that AGAIN I was on the Rampage! Fortunately I passed it in one go then and this time it did properly move me to round 21 one hour later. So, effectively I won round 20 3 times. The strange thing is that the game didn't roll back directly, but it happened (both times) after the 1 hour waiting period was over. Very odd.

Wasn't actually expecting a new tournament, but it's actually kind of nice! This means we won't have one during Thanksgiving for those who celebrate, which is actually pretty thoughtful! ^_^ Also glad it's not a flash tournament as I don't always do well with those and I really like this creature. So far the tournament went pretty smooth. Even though I had a slow start as I couldn't play regularly the first 2 days. But now round 27 is proving to be difficult. Hope I can get around it soon . Have had 4 losses in it so far.

Do you have a Deadwing (Skull)? I think that's what I beat level 18 with. Sometimes an animal that is common, with only one element will take down the ultra rares. i.e., if Chippychan's chart suggests you use dark with nature or fire, you may want to try Skyger. Good luck!

RD 21 Terradactyl advice will my lvl 15 Planthers work with earth? I could just go 1 element my RockRino lvl 15. I'm still a newbie so not many EPIC extra special creatures in my forest yet. :) I did however win Wyburn battleground yesterday :)

Then an hour later I went in for round 21, it first showed the Terradactyl as an opponent but when I fought the round I was on the Rampage again! I had chosen the QQ as a fighter then (not the ideal choice for fighting earth-fire), which scored a critical hit and I passed the round. Then, one hour after that AGAIN I was on the Rampage! Fortunately I passed it in one go then and this time it did properly move me to round 21 one hour later. So, effectively I won round 20 3 times. The strange thing is that the game didn't roll back directly, but it happened (both times) after the 1 hour waiting period was over. Very odd.

It took me 7 tries to beat the Rainguin, on 15, and it only worked after I tried all my most powerful animals, and decided to give Pandaffodil a trie. It knock out the Rainguin on the first hit, lol. Go figure...

That is something that happened to me a lot, I even fought 5 times on a specific round, in FFS and DS, more than once on a turnament, I would had to repeat 1 to 3 times the same round and this would happened in 2 to 5 rounds in only one tournament!

Hopefully that has not been happening since Tsunami on DS, and FFS I don't remember. Unfortunately, TL games still have a lot of problems, and that is one of the most horrible to still have, you just wasted 3 hours to defeat a animal that you already defeated, the game counted, memorized that you have done the battle, waited 1 hour, but still shows you the opponent and round that you already won, that is just to lose more time and help us to lose this tournaments that already are difficult enough.

This happened to me a few tournaments back, one of the flash ones too, if I recall. I was halfway through a battle with one animal when it turned into one from a previous round! Just when you think you've covered yourself for rollbacks...Glad you got through OK

My trusty Crystal Unicorn took down the Thankfowl on the first try to win the tournament. A good finish allowed me to tie the best record I have had in a 30 round tournament at 30-19. See Post #3 for details.

My worst rounds were rounds 25 (Ghostrich) and 27 (Eerie Owl) with 4 losses despite having excellent match-ups to fight on my side. Rounds 17 and 18 with 2 losses were the only other rounds with more than 1 loss. Overall, this was an excellent performance by my troops.

Despite no gems for hatching the Thankfowl, I will deviate from my trend of keeping prizes in storage since I really enjoy the look of the Thankfowl. Just need to find an opening and a space to put it.

Thyna - ME TOO!!!! A 10 level common Ranguin gave me fits for a day. I had 10-11 battles with all my strong epic level animals. I even tried my Pandoffil. I finally nailed that darn thing with Electic level 10 eagle beagle. Go figure. Makes me think that wherever you are in the tournament there's a pre set formula for all of us and you and I were like whatever spot every so often. Best of luck. I'm ready for #23 Rubble Rooster.

it is funny :mad: how attacks are different from player to player...... round 22, monsoon marmot : i spent the whole day and lost the whole night to beat this animal, using the Treasure Poney level 15.... finally beat it with valentiger.... but it was hard !! the 20 rounds were done within 2 days, but loosing an entire day on a "easy" opponent makes my angry !...... good luck to you all, and congratulations to you who finished !

Completely agree. I'm tired of looking at all the newly won animals sitting in storage:(.
I'm pondering selling some commons or rares to make space...and I'm still trying to bred a unicorn, so ending up with additional new animals here & there. Hoping we get some expansion relief soon. Maybe Black Friday???

Space is not (yet!) an issue for me, there are still plenty of plots to expand to, but at the cost of 70 runes each it takes so long before I can expand. Currently at best I can make 1 expansion every 10 days or so. It would be really nice if the expansion cost rune-wise could be cut in half, or if we would have a permanent alternative way of gaining additional runes, e.g. from selling duplicate animals, or simply from hatching animals or so.
I really like FFS but these slow expansions are becoming a major bottleneck. Not nice. My forest currently looks like an ant hill as every square millimeter has been filled with habitats that are maxed out with animals. No room for decoration. No chance to set up everything more spaciously. No chance at all to hatch all the cool animals that are in storage... :S

Sorry to tell you that your Rune cost will go up again as you expand. It currently cost me 74 Runes to expand to my next plot. I can still expand to 10 more plots.

This has happened to me before, it's just sometimes a delay in the timer going on. I just come away from the nest, do a few bits and pieces then check the nest again. If it's not fixed I turn it off, wait a few mins then try again. Sometimes after this the timer is up or those 2 animals have been removed from the nest. Oh and the fire, water combo will give u a dark result, depending on your level.

Use your highest level (!) and 'rarest' water-earth animal for fighting the Eerie Owl. I took it out with my level 15 Blizard. A Glacial Grifin of level 15 should have the same stats. If you don't have either of these, or if they're of lower level, try to pick a different water-earth animal that's as high level and rare as possible. And... hurry up, as the round after the Eerie Owl is the Treasure Toucan, which is a notorious opponent!

This is ridiculous!!!! I have been on top of this tourney since it started. I have strong animals and should have no problem with the tourney. Yet ever time we have one I'm always struggling to finish. I am done with them!! It's nothing but a gem trap.. In fact I'm close to dropping this app altogether. It's a shame to cause I have about 2 years or more into this game. I used to buy gems till recently when I began to see how much of a gem trap it is and how little storm8 cares for its customers. I'm sure this post won't last long in this forum.
Just had to vent. I have put way to much time in this tourney not to make it. Just heart breaking.

Such has indeed been the case for this tournament and for the previous one, and also for the last trio. I'm really disappointed too, especially with that of the trio: previously the trio goals were always 10 gems per trio animal, which would then mean 30 gems maximally (i.e. for a complete trio). The last time around I finally managed to breed a complete trio and those 30 gems would have been very welcome... Maybe the trio breeding odds were improved though. This time I had no trouble breeding all three of the animals, whereas previous trios were always hellish. If such is the case I'll take those better breeding odds anytime over the 30 gems. :P

BTW: Previously there would (almost?) always be a 1-week or 2-week goal of 5 gems for breeding newly released animals too. Nowadays, if any goal, the gem reward is reduced to only 2 gems too...

Had a dream come true kind of tourney . 9 losses against 26 wins . Until I hit round 27 . The stubborn Eerie Owl just wouldn't go down . In all 10 losses. Finally got it with Glacial Griffin ( 4 losses)

I have noticed the reduction as well. Recently, I even had an icon rather than a goal to install a game and received no reward. I was happy to see gems for winning two of the rounds in the Nocturtle 18 round tournament at the beginning of October and hoped that would be a new trend but it turned out to be a 1-off. Maybe they are trying to make a Black Friday Gem sale look more enticing and the Gems for reaching certain goals will return.

Funny thing is that I liked the look of the Thankfowl so much it is the first tournament prize I have hatched in months and it is now in the Evolution Flower.

Things are looking up! Finally got past Treasure Toucan with Sapybara (held me up for more than a day!), and took out Unicornucopia on the second try with Scaredy Cat! Only have Thankfowl to go! ^_^ Glad this was a longer tournement, my luck has not been the best for it. Looks like I may make after all though!

Real shame we only get apples for completing the quest, even if I won't have time to do it anyway. We gain gems pretty slowly as it is anyway (especially if you don't have treasure animals), so I don't think the occasional reward of 5 or less for completing a goal is too much. Guess we'll have to see what the next one brings.

Update: And done! :D Happy to have this little guy! I'm actually probably going to hatch him pretty soon to put with some of my other bird critters!

Hey Doompicnic I had trouble with TT too. I finally through many fails tried a nature shot from a level 10 Aurora Pegasus (I was looking for another super rare leaf) and it finally worked. Got unicornicopia on third try with a gem and Thankfowl on 2nd try w/gem also. This was a difficult tournament. I was on it from the get go, set timers to play every hour and really stay on top of it. But it was a lot of work. Best of luck.

Got unicornicopia on third try with a gem and Thankfowl on 2nd try w/gem also. This was a difficult tournament. Thanks! I have not tried my aurora pegasus. I will try that next. I had a pretty smooth tournament until treasure toucan. I don't think I'll make it this time.

Edit: Well I did not complete this tournament. I was stuck on Treasure toucan for days...ridiculous.

Sigh, I had been doing so well! Really thought I could make this one. I got stuck on pearl peryton for a while then got passed it. My next problem was the terradactyl which I was stuck on for over a day! Got passed that and now the cold turkey is giving me grief 😟

I'm out. After a horrendous last 3 days where I won only 9 battles total I have given up. Losing record of 27-41. :(

I finished with a an hour to spare... Glad I got it but it's ridiculous how much I struggled with it. I could have been done at least 2 days ago. But for some reason I always have a hard time with the last 10 animals. It's disheartening how much I play this game and how much it's changed. It used to be fun... Even though I'm collecting animals that serve no purpose I used to have a good time with it. Now the only reason I put up with it, is because I have years (over 2 years) invested in the game. I used even buy gems. Which I don't mind doing cause it supports the devolpers. But since the game has turned into nothing but a game trap and no longer geared for fun. I refuse to purchase anymore. I only hope that all the complaints don't fall on deaf ears and that storm8 does something to make this fun again...
