The new habitat is on sale but the dragon isn't. 1600 gold. Ouch.

Cartographer dragon is on sale for 480 though. Might bite the bullet and get that one.

Edit(KP) Dragon is now on sale in market 480 gold.

Make sure you are on the most current version of the regular game to see this Dragon.

600 food per day, lah-dee-dah. That's less than one crop of Scalypears, which cost 13000 coins to plant. This is supposed to be worth 1600 gold?

Well we have been screaming for more food or farms from TL and we have something ....... Thanks TL
It's in my market, but it's very expensive guess I need more info on feeding it to epic and getting the food from it etc before deciding what to do ......... The habitat is there too price reduced at moment

So it gives 600 food regardless of the level? Well, that does sound nice. At least it's some way to gain a bit more food.
edit: Wait. But you need to feed it to get it to level 10, right?

Expensive dragon for not much food, it would take about 200 days of collecting 600 food a day to come out even.
I'd rather plant Rushrooms :(

He may not give a lot of food per day but (a) TL listened to our suggestions & gave us what we asked for and (b) maybe they plan to make more than one of this type (like the gold producing dragons). I'm totally buying this one as soon as I have a free nest :)

and the habitat hold only 200 apples ! full before 10h !

At level 10 the dragon gives 21 food per hour! I bet it needs to be level 15 to give 25 food per hour. Food for level 11 is 15000 x 5 = 75000! You are limited to only one dragon. (2 per habitat).
P.S. thanks for the habitat increase

Actually they didn't give us what we asked for...we asked for a new crop(s) that yields more food...that don't cost an arm & a leg, and that don't take 20+ hrs to grow! Instead they feed their greed once again by giving us an outrageously priced dragon along with an expensive habitat that yields very little food. And before anyone jumps on the 'they're a business' bandwagon remember that they ALREADY have way too many ways in which they make money off of us with speeding up breeding/hatching, speeding up battles, dragons that cost a ridiculous amount of gold, etc., etc., not to mention all the 'gold traps'!!! Now let's add up how much money they get from a significant amount of the 10 million people who have downloaded this game minus the people who stopped playing either because they didn't like the game...found that it's too expensive to play...or became frustrated with the unfixed glitches & the lack of taking into account their players suggestions & complaints (plus the disparity that STILL exists for Android, Kindle & non iOS platform players!)! Leaving probably at least a million or two still playing. And of those, a guesstimate that at least a 100,000 or two that spend real world money on a regular basis. Now let's say they each bought just the minimum amount of gold @$4.99...that is $499,000 alone...and that doesn't take into account all the people who buy bigger packages of gold! Nor all the other games that TL has that ALSO makes them money! I mean 'Come on man!' I would hate to even add up the amount of money I've spent not only on this game but on FS, RS and now FF! I don't play FS or RS anymore but feel free to check out my absolutely gorgeous FS store (really, it IS awesome!). I'd say I've easily spent $1000+ myself! And yes, I'm aware that it was my choice to spend money & I don't regret having done so...my issue is with the outrageous cost of items, TL's greed, the unfixed glitches, and the lack of listening to their customers suggestions/complaints!! They are making money hand over fist with all their games...so they really need to back off their extreme greed!!

Having said that, I still love playing DS, and I like FF (food, habitats, characters, etc., are even more expensive than DS's!). Although I'm not sure if I'll keep up with FF due to the fact that I already spend enough money on DS! jmho

And with all due respect, they could have made it actually more affordable instead of yet again feeding their greed. The costs for the new 'food' dragon & habitat is not worth the price...as someone earlier pointed out that the small amount of food you'd get from this dragon doesn't come in-line with the cost. And I believe you missed the whole point of my post. Again jmho

I wanted a dragon like this when people were still suggesting it but S8's implementation made everything go downhill. Such a crazy expensive price tag for something that only gives 600 food per day. And since the habitat can only hold 200 food, this dragon on epic means you need to collect every 9.5 hours. Even if they add more food-producing dragons to the list in the future, just imagine two epic dragons per habitat means collecting 4.7 times per day. Everyday. On a schedule - or you lose food. No thanks. A buy-only dragon and you'd think they'll make it easier for us to collect at least.

Oh and not to mention it'll need 886,450 food in total to get to level 15 and reach 600 food/day. Yay.

I have also bought this dragon. I was one of the ones who supported the food producing dragon concept. This is a first draft if you like. I agree the pricing and food production seem somewhat mis-aligned, BUT I will review after I see it in action.

I do think a different, more productive farm crop would be a good idea with the food habits of the newer dragons, but one step at a time.

As with any product in life, if the price is not acceptable to your personal circumstances, don't buy it. Are Ferarri a greedy company? Very expensive cars that I don't even give a thought to. If I don't see the value in a dress, I don't buy it. I don't tell the manufacturer they are greedy, for that achieves little and would surely make them less inclined to adjust the price. None of us react well to attacks, I suggest.

At a rate of 600/day, it'll take over 4 years for that dragon to recoup the food cost of getting it to level 15. Definitely not worth it. I wouldn't bother to level it up even if it were free.

I think I'm going to pass on this one. At epic(level 15), it still makes less food a day than ANY crop we already have. And the food cost to get it to 15, is too high. I still haven't managed to get 1 there yet. I bought the map dragon because it was on sale and didn't want to miss out, plus I was afraid that they would take the quest away like they did for gold. Still saving my gold hoping for something awesome for Black Friday....

Really, how hard could it have been to code this for Android as well as iOS? We have gold giving dragons on Android, so I am sure they know how (that has been an excuse in the past). They just... don't. I honestly don't really get the "why" of that. Don't they get money from Android users too? Why shut them out of something like this?

Not worth it. I'm years ahead by just not feeding this one. I can't fit all the dragons I already have. Nope, I'm good. Wish it produced lots of food & that the habitat actually allowed the full amount of food to be accumulated. kinda bummed but I hope people who get it enjoy it.

11-11-15, 07:45 PM
Seriously? An extra farm that costs coins to buy would have been more worth it than this! 800 diamondates in 5 hrs and I wouldn't need to feed the farm! Lol

Kevin0908
11-11-15, 07:58 PM
Four years of constant consistent collection, just to break even with what it costs in food to level it to the point where it wud take only four years to collect. But then again, it wud probably take less time to pay off if you left the dragon at level 14. But in either case, how does that make any sense?!?!? Wouldn't a more realistic choice be the amount of food you're able to collect from the dragon be more in line with thd time it would take to pay it off in gold. And furthermore, if dragons that you collect coins from need food to level, shouldn't dragons that you collect food from take coins to level. It would give some parity to the now near useless coin system... & in a lot of ways its just common sense

Kevin0908

As it is, this dragon is absolutely useless...

Xyn25
11-11-15, 09:14 PM
This is a nice idea, but seriously, 25 food per hour at level 15? That's less than a fireapple crop! Even if it was available on Android, totally not worth paying so much gold.

zaccy678
11-11-15, 10:53 PM
I think whoever did the calculations for this dragon was having a bad day ;)

Add a zero at the end of the collection rates and you'd have something worth considering (i.e. up to 250/hr / 6000/day).

Maybe it was a typo??

The food needed to lvl this dragon was unavailable at the time I first saw it, and I thought it was a waste just for the gold it cost. The food is the real kicker though, leveling this dragon to 15 is laughable for 600 food a day. I guess if you're a collector it might be worth buying but otherwise I just don't get it.

Agreed.. I can't imagine who thought 600 food a day from this dragon was a great idea considering what it takes to level up dragons.

This idea has to be up there as one of TL's worst as it relates to game play.

Make sure you are on the regular version of the game and have the most current update.

I should be running the lastest since I can get winter dragon, strange but whatever maybe this dragon hates to be in my den :p

I believe this is the first dragon for food launch, there might be some calculation error or maybe it is what it is, things do get better after the next dragon, Rome isn't built in a day

If I were the designer of s8, after the sales is over for this dragon. I will make it limited n not for sale. Launch second dragon saying if there are 2 dragons in habitat, Bonus of having 2 dragons food is double or triple in habitat. Than players who buy this will be grining n many more players will ask for the relaunch of this useless dragon :p

The idea of having a food-producting dragon is actually not bad, but the price to buy & the food require to raise that as high as a gold dragon but only give about 600 foods/a day is just meh... It's even lower than planting Scalypear. I can't find any reason to buy this dragon for food, unless for decoration purpose.

Also, it seem that they've updated the original DS on Android today and we've finally have this one and the map-producting dragon, but there is no sale (more reason to not buy this dragon  )

prob people with more money then sence will buy this :D id rither buy a Gold dragon or Diamond then this :) maybe we can have a coin producing 1 to call mr Mc Scrooge also :) (ducktales joke)
Wouldn't that be the best thing ever? I would laugh my butt off if they ever announced a coin-producing dragon :D

I was real close buying this dragon, but I realized that 600 food is less than I get from one round of planting Upgrapes..
but I loved the habitat, so I couldn't resist buying one just for decoration
That is a great idea to buy the habitat for a decoration, although it could never be stored and brought back out. I have 2 open orchard habitats this habitat would look good near and since I have the space 25,000 coins is nothing. But the dragon, forget it. If I ever had almost a million in food I sure would rather use it on 50 dragons to get them to at least level 10 before I'd waste the food on this one.
I'll send you an invite and you can see my farm/ orchard decorations.

On Android we just got this dragon and the map giving dragon with the latest update to 2.3.1.1g. Also we can visit others Arctic isles but I can't access my own that I've had literally on ice since moving from iOS to Android a while back. All my dragons are still there but I only get the travel ship from my other account to go and visit, the ship is gone while actually in that account. It's getting really close to full parity. All we need is to be able to visit our own Arctic and album and we're finally equal.

Use the latest update of the main regular Dragon Story, not the seasonal version.

Omg I did not know DS has 2 version on IOS... You save my life... So android call DS harvest moon, IOS DS with pumpkin head dragon n DS without pumpkin head wth....

Another question I never buy dragons before, if I would to purchase this dragon, does it goes to storage as an egg? Reason is because I have no space in my game even if I expand n later clear debris it is to house rainbow habitat sweet tooth which is stuck on my spell shop for days...

I really want this dragon although it is useless but spending gold to buy silver, clear debris, expand time n buy maps is pretty silly

Could a Mod please check to see if this dragon can be used for breeding? If so, what elements would it produce? Thanks :D

It cannot be a parent for breeding, but you can use him in battles.

No. It would immediately go on the nest to hatch.

I thought about buying the dragon, and if I were a newbie I might've. But I get almost double the food in one hour that this dragon provides in an entire day. Maybe sometime in the future when I have all the other dragons.

I did, however, buy both new habitats for decor.

So now this dragon and the cartographer is available for android players but they are too expensive and not worth the money. Why would anyone purchase a fruit producing dragon for 1600 gold bars when it produces 400 fruits/day maximum? We can already produce 700 in every 10 minutes using our good old farms!
Even though it is great that we are a step closer to having all the privileges that IOS players have...

I would have rather paid for an additional farm to make more food than to use that space to put this habitat & use gold to buy this sad dragon that only makes 600 food/day. Even if I had to pay gold for the farm (which I would rather not). It would still be a better use of gold than this. Just my opinion.

Can we get another farm? lol

Android has this and the map dragon now but why do we not get the sale prices for them? I refuse to pay full price, especially when ios gets 75% off

Yes I'm aware of that, but android just got the latest update and both these dragons for the first time. It's bad enough we got them a month late, shouldn't we at least get the sale price? Id buy them both at the sale price which is what ios got
