Community Prizes - You will receive ALL community prizes earned by the community if you collect at least 600 acorns. But please keep going after you get your 600 because it's usually down to the wire on the last day that these get completed and huge levels of participation are required by all to help achieve the final goal.
80,000,000 autumn acorns - Fall Flagstone (decoration)
220,000,000 autumn acorns - Pumpkin Pal (decoration)
320,000,000 autumn acorns - Hibearnate (super rare, Autumn). Incubation time 15:00, evolution time 22:00.

If you have 6 large / grand farms with food planted 20 hours a day, and collect from the trunk you earn as the first prize 3 times a day, and have something incubating in the nest 18 hours a day, that is 150 acorns per day and 2,200 (aprox.) acorns for the event. If we get an arena during the event (this Friday, probably), that's more. If you win acorns in the mine, more as well. This is doable for anyone online a few times a day, if timed well. And the community prizes require LOTS of people participating so please help the community effort if you can.

I'll keep updating as new info becomes available. Good luck to everyone! :)

Exciting! It's been a while.
Yay!!!
As predicted it is autumn/ fall related .
In the Autumn Festival, you and other players will collect Autumn Acorns to earn individual and community prizes!

You can earn Autumn Acorns by doing the following:

- Hatching animals from your Nest
- Harvesting food at your Farms
- Digging in the Mine
- Battling in Tournaments (level 17+)
- Obtaining the Hollow Trunk or the Giving Tree

Once you collect enough Autumn Acorns to earn the first individual prize, the second individual prize will unlock. After the community collectively gathers enough Autumn Acorns to earn a community prize, all players who have collected enough Autumn Acorns to be eligible will receive it. Your prizes will be placed in your storage. Have fun!

As copied and pasted from info in the event

Yeah this is exactly as I too expected. I'm glad I anticipated it correctly and planted rune prunes that are done in 2 minutes from now. That gives a nice headstart. :)
I see the format is slightly different this time: 3 of the animals are now individual prizes and only one is a community prize. I hope the amount of required acorns is the same though

The second individual prize is an Autumn Atrium habitat that requires 200 acorns.

Everyone remember to place the first individual prize in your forest, the Hollow Trunk. You can use it to collect 4 acorns every four hours.

That habitat and the owl look really pretty. It shall be fun to go for this!
Hmmmm, now where do I put that bright yellowish habitat... Probably on the purple shelf I started expanding on,as I go towards the Solar Bear....

This makes me wonder if we are going to have a Halloween themed Storybook Adventure instead of a World Event?

We normally get a tournament during these events, don't we? To help gain extra of whatever it is we need to collect? Would that start on Friday?

I hope so! I'd love a new Halloween type but if we only get new elements through trios then no. I'm not very good with trios! I'm also hoping last year's animals will return. I only got one :(

Yeah, I'm hoping that there isn't a Halloween trio: I don't have much luck with those. It would be pretty easy to introduce a new type through Storybook Adventures though. You'd just have to have the first day's prize be a habitat and the second day's prize be an animal. Or have the first day's prize be a habitat + animal.

I could see October's Spin to Win wheel having Halloween animals from last year.

I can't keep up. Sold a farm to get the Prize Pony and habitat. Now I've sold the Evolve flower to buy back the farm! I have spots to expand to, it just takes so long. It seems everytime I expand, a new trio has to go there. I love these events, but they will go to storage until I can catch up.

Can someone help explain once you qualify for community prizes. I understand you have to get to 600 acorns before it happens, but how is it determined❓

Once you qualify for the community prizes, you will get any and all prizes that the community qualifies for. The community total, is the total of all the Autumn Acorns collected by everyone playing FFS during the World Event. Each prize will have a total number of Autumn Acorns the community needs to collect to win that prize.

You need to have 600 autumn acorns to become visible to the rest of the community, the community prizes are rewarded once all the community reach the amount required to receive the prize :)

On the last World Event, our community collected a minimum total required of 320,000,000 jeweled scarabs to get all the 3 community prizes. The first prize was rewarded after the community collected a total of 80,000,000 jeweled scarabs, 2nd prize when the community collected 220,000,000 jeweled scarabs and the last one I already said the amount. Hope you understand!

I love this theme! Fall is one of my favorite seasons and all the animals look great! Especially the fox and the owl. I have a thing for foxes and the owl is just sooo pretty! Hope it won't be too hard to get them all, especially with three of them being individual prizes now. Luckily I had rune prunes ready for just such an event, so I had a good start!

Time to collect like squirrels everyone! ;)

I love the world events! I think they are fairly easy, if you play the game just a couple of times a day, plant food, breed animals, mine and the item we are collecting accumulates in plenty of time. I often forget to collect from whatever gives us extra, the hallow trunk this go round. I do stress a bit over the community prizes as they seem to take very long to achieve. But I'm surprised that some struggle all the way through. Hopefully someone will do the reality check (LonePudding usually does a great job with this, as well as others), keep up with reality check and everyone should easily make it through. Good luck all.

So need more fodder, I guess it will come soon a storybook again. Have just returned 48,000 food collected, but that is still too little. Good luck to all

I think it'll be doable for me to get at least 600 Autumn Acorns so I can get the Autumn Atrium and two animals: Harvest Hoarder and Hibearnate (assuming the community gets all three community prizes, but we haven't failed yet). I have 2 upgraded farms and I should be able to upgrade a third before going to bed. Then I can start growing batches of Mystic Mangos (a little bit cheaper per fruit than if I were to grow Rune Prunes).

Getting the 1200 required Autumn Acorns for the Autumn Equifox seems unlikely, and it's a definite no for the Barn Owl. But that's fine, I'd rather have 2 animals obtained without spending gems than spend gems to get all four.

Hi everyone.

As many asked earlier in this thread for a reality check on day to day count of acorns. So here are my calculations.

My calculation is based on the premise that we will need 2200 acorns by day 14 to get the last individual prize
So we need to generate 158 acorns a day to cross the line. If you can do more , well it will so much less stressful at the end.

Day 1 = 158 acorns
Day 2 = 316 acorns
Day 3 = 474 acorns
Day 4 = 632 acorns
Day 5 = 790 acorns
Day 6 = 948 acorns
Day 7 = 1106 acorns
Day 8 = 1264 acorns
Day 9 = 1422 acorns
Day 10 = 1580 acorns
Day 11= 1738 acorns
Day 12= 1896 acorns
Day 13 = 2054 acorns
Day 14= 2212 acorns

BEST OF LUCK & HAPPY COLLECTING !!

Oh dear, there's a bit of a "luxury problem": I just checked the pictures at the Wikia and the Barn Owl is gorgeous in both its adult form as well as in its epic form, but they look very different from one another. It shall be hard to choose. The OP of this thread shows the adult form.
I wished we could get two of those!

They are quite different! My preference is the adult form, but I tend to prefer most animals that way, I don't always like all the white highlights on the epic animals.

Since there are two events going on simultaneously where you have to collect things from food, you do get credited for both. Although it may look like you're only getting candy when you harvest food if you're still on that step of the goal line for the Goblin Gobbler, if you look over at your acorn counter that number should also increase at the same time and credit you with acorns. If not, you should contact S8 support. Good luck!

Soooo the Harvest Hoarder needs as much food as an ULTRA RARE. AND ITS ONLY A RARE.

Yikes! Guess I will keep mine in storage for a while. No room for the habitat either at the moment.

Me too! Have to wait and see what the spooky goal line asks for next... But I already placed the Autumn Atrium and it's absolutely gorgeous! May just be my favorite habitat.

Why do they do this.. As it is the a humongous amount of food is needed to raise a super rare or an ultra from lvl 10 to epic.
I think I will keep this one at max lvl 10 . I haven't checked its earnings yet, but I don't think they will be much.

It's really annoying that AGAIN these animals have the costs of an ultra rare, but not the earnings. :(
I thought TL had taken a step backwards from these ridiculous feeding costs. I just finished bringing three ultra rares to epic level and I want to build up a 150K food reserve before Haloween comes round.
Now these pretty animals will probably never be evolved beyond level 10. In an ironic way it at least solved my indecision as to whether to leave the owl as an adult or bring it to epic...:(
To TL: +1 for the nice habitat and animals and -1 for STILL continuing with these ridiculous feedings costs :(

Hello everyone,

I see a lot of people saying that they're planting Rune Prunes to get more acorns, but I thought each hour of food is worth one acorn, correct? So, if you can log in every hour, planting Mana Bananas, for instance, you still get the same amount of acorns... Or I am wrong? How many acorns an hour a Rune Prune gets?

Thanks!

No you are correct, I myself go with rune prunes to cover the time I am sleeping and just in case I for some reason can not get on every hour I don't miss any oppurtunity to earn acorns.

Same. I often plant rune prunes before bed so that they are ready when I get off work the next day! :) But it would technically be the same number of acorns as if you planted 20 batches of mana bananas.

I figure if I get the Harvest Hoarder, Hibearnate, and *possibly* the Autumn Equifox (getting it doesn't seem so unlikely now that I have 4 upgraded farms), that I'd only raise Hibearnate to level 15 and the other(s) would stay at level 3. I like seeing limited animals in their baby forms when I go look at other forests.

Does anyone have a strategy for these events, other than continuously planting the 20 hour crops? I have 1137 acorns so far, but my food stores have been seriously depleted with raising fighters during the flash tournament and by my Prize Pony. I'm wondering if for a few hours a day, say four to six hours, I planted charm cherries, just to get that added food boost. After that I'd go back to rune prunes and repeat after that 20 hour period was up. I'm just worried we'll get a storybook event right after this and that we won't get a gap to build our food stores back up.

I don't change my strategy much at all once the event starts. I suspected that we would get a World Event and planted some 20 hour crops that I harvested shortly after the event started. I also try to keep at least 10 explosives on hand for an event to pick up some extra tokens. Once the event starts, I plant Charm Cherries when I have time to harvest them every hour and Nexus Nuts when I can't harvest for a while. As long as you can harvest the crops around the time they are ready, there is no need to change your harvesting strategy for the event. I don't vary my breeding strategy at all except not hatching eggs from storage, since I always try to have an animal in the Breeding Den. You are already more than half way to the last individual prize and we won't hit the half way point for another day and half. I typically get the last individual prize with over a day left by just playing normally. However, I am always producing food and trying to breed new animals.

I hope this helps.

Largely the same here as ninsidstorm8 wrote.
This time round I anticipated the world event correctly and had planted Rune Prunes in advance. After that, I went back to my normal back to back Charm Cherries growing. There's one small difference though: when there's no event on, overnight I would plant a 5 hour something (Nexus Nuts or Spell Melons - depending on my "cash flow"). That tends to leave maybe 1-2 inactive hours overnight. During events therefore, overnight I plant the 8 hour crops.

When I am able to be home or near my iPad or iPhone, and awake LOL, I plant charm cherries and collect on the hour. When I go to bed, I usually plant rune prunes and then go back to the cherries which is when I'm usually home.

However, I also leveled up animals for the tournament that weren't winning which didn't help lol and I am also feeding my unicorn and trying to Breed an Iciclaw which I've managed on one of my accounts so far. I try to always have something breeding/ hatching.

I usually go over the amount needed without trying too hard and just continue collecting for the community goal.

I'm not sure there is any super creative strategy though.

And, yes, my food is very depleted so I hope we don't have an adventure too soon. Good luck to all!

Earlier this morning the Autumn Equifox went into my storage and I can confirm that the Barn Owl indeed takes 2200 acorns to get, so despite the slightly different format this time round, the "prime" personal target animal has the same cost as is normally the case. Good news, because that means it's well accessible when going about business as normal: back to back breeding/hatching, mining and harvesting.

Now... with the habitat deployed and empty and a 13 hour egg next going to the nest (several hours later today) I hope to be able to force-create a big gap between the hatching of that egg and breeding something in the den. I think I'll pair the QQ with a dark-electric animal to have some shots at several animals I still need and to have the highest probability of a long timer. If that works out, I hope to create a large gap to start hatching one of the two Autumn animals I now have in storage.

Sandybellee
10-05-15, 02:56 AM
It's good to know that the last individual prize is 2200 acorns. Thanks for the confirmation!

I think my Harvest Horder will soon get out of storage. I have a Planther egg on the nest and a Spruce Moose (yay!) cooking in the den so that will leave a 5 hour gap which I can utilize overnight. I'm really wanting to hatch the Nocturtle asap but since it takes 17 hours, I think Harvest Horder makes more sense. Will have to wait and see...

Well, I couldn't wait and Nocturtle egg is on the nest now. Autumn animals have to wait a bit longer. :)

Thank you ninasidstorm8 and ogreve. Normal, when there isn't an event, I plant charm cherries on the hour and nexus nuts overnight, I too have a few inactive hours during the night time. I had rune prunes ready when this event started, simply in anticipation as well, but the difference in my game play is that I then normally continue to plant them for the duration of the event. I think later today when they're ready, I'll plant some cherries for when I know I'll be able to harvest them. It's great to know that what I normally do has been successful for you guys, because I've always been afraid I wouldn't collect enough. I always make sure I've got something in my nest, and if the breeding pair is going to take a while, I've been buying rhino's or frost fangs, just to make sure there's no inactive time on that front.

Hmm, I just did some math on matters and it turned out it wasn't a bad idea to already speed clear the nest of the Planther. At a cost of 5 gems I did just that and started the hatching of the Harvest Hoarder. That will finish hatching at 23:45 and it only leaves a 4 hour gap with the remainder of my current 13 hour timer in the den. That 13 hour egg will then hatch during the night, while I have a shot at creating another long timer by pairing the QQ with a dark-electric animal.

I too was happy to hear strategies for planting.
I've been doing a set of 5 hour & then the 20 hr foods.
I've been saving to expand to Treent since before the 1st storybook but always had to start over with the events going on.
I'm right over 10k now, but have zero food as I've been trying to raise up to epic some of my good fighters to make tournaments easier. I have tried to follow the advice of animal placement from old post (basically have rarity of animals spread out in each habitat - for example: 1 common, 1 rare, & 1 super. As well as having more high earning habitats - electric, dark, water.

I'd like to get my Treent, but am thinking I need to save a little more 1st & not deplete my whole amount of coins or I'll be in trouble when the next event comes along. Also, thinking I need to power plant food to get my reserves back up.

Any other suggestions on what I can do to earn more quickly to save for Treent as well as plant more to get food reserves back up.
I've got my Iciclaw all bred, & am in good shape with the harvest event. I do try to keep nest full (& try to bred for the unicorn I WILL get one day;). Just so much to. Do;)

If you are having trouble saving coins and food, I would not make expanding to the Treent of Life a high priority. It isn't useful for breeding and it is only useful in battling Dark and Gem animals. If you already have a good fighter in those categories, then I would wait on the Treent until you reach a point where you have more resources ( I rarely use mine). If you are short of food, Charm Cherries and Nexus Nuts provide the most food depending on how often you can harvest them but they are costly. If you are short of coins then you need to expand to the cheapest spots first and fill all habitats with as many animals as you can. Even if you plan on selling the animal, raising it to at least level 4 is a good investment and even up to level 7 for most animals. Then collect coins as often as you can from the habitats. Once you can get your coin collection up, you can afford to plant the more expensive food and resources are not as much of an issue.

Good Luck, in time you will get there.

Thanks! Guess I just have to be more patient. I did recently get the prize pony & have it raised to a level 10 so maybe I just need to make due with that for a while...did anyone ever update the old 'expansion obstacles' thread where there was a picture with cost to clear all obstacles on each plot ( especially now that we have the new purple section). I may need to try to see where's my nextcheaoest location to expand. Although I still really want the Treent, but I don't want to miss out on fall/holiday stuff because I don't have enough coins or $. I have tried to get all my animals to at least level 7 (as recommended in an old thread) & then worked to get ting super rares up to 10+. Some of my commons are still at level 4 tho. But everything is at least at 4

I feel your pain, I am also low on coins and food. I confirmed this morning that even the crops below 1 hour earn acorns, apparently there is a timer we don't see that keeps track of total time planted. Since the 30 second crop is the cheapest per apple, every time I check my game I plant for 30 seconds as long as I can stand it, then plant whatever crop gets me to my next game check. That way I get an extra 1000 or so apples in a day.

The Autumn Acorn collecting is going well. I have a little over 650 acorns at the moment, and I'll have well over 700 by the time Day 7 ends. When the event first started, I was worried about being able to get to 600 to get Hibearnate (assuming we earn all community prizes). But now that I have 5 big farms capable of giving me 120 acorns per day (3 sets of 5 Mystic Mangos) - not to mention what I collect from the Hollow Trunk, hatching, and mining - I shouldn't have any problem earning the Autumn Equifox.

That'd be neat if you got acorns instead of experience points for helping neighbors/neighbors helping you. They could even limit how many Acorns per day you could get from those methods if they were concerned about it making it too easy to earn prizes.

The only way I can get the Barn Owl is if I bought gems, which I'm not going to do. I'm too far behind to be able to catch up. It's fine though, I just didn't want to have one animal all by itself in the habitat, and now I don't have to worry about that :)

Also: for those (Chippychan?) who take an interest in the Autumn element's strengths, I've been testing it somewhat and the complete findings are being recorded in this (single) post: http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?83277-Battlegrounds-amp-Tournaments-Strategy-Guide-amp-Discussion&p=1186463&viewfull=1#post1186463

So far it appears that Autumn is:
-STRONG to water and electric.
-WEAK to cosmic, fire and gem.
-NEUTRAL to dark and Shamrock.
-NEUTRAL or STRONG to earth and nature.

I really hope it is indeed strong to both water AND electric, as that then provides for a good alternative for having an earth-electric animal fight water-electric animals.

I finally finished hatching my Autumn Equifox. Interestingly enough it's cheaper, well, "less expensive" to raise it than the Harvest Hoarder is.
The Autumn Equifox requires the same amounts of food as super rare animals normally do whereas the Harvest Hoarder requires the food amounts of an ultra rare.
I think the feeding costs are higher when an animal is more easily obtained.
I'm 154 acorns away from getting the Barn Owl (my primary target for this world event). By my above assumption, I'm guessing that the Barn Owl will require the feedings of a super rare and that the Hibearnate will require the feedings of an ultra rare.

Got both my Harvest Hoarder and Autumn Equifox hatched (game generated names: Archer and Willow respectively). Their baby animations are just so darn cute. I wish there were a tournament or Battlegrounds for baby animals: I'd feel bad about throwing them in a regular tourney or Battlegrounds.

Now it's just continuing the Acorn collecting until we earn Hibearnate :)

OMG - OMG - OMG: You'll looooooveeeee this one: I just put Autumn up against the Snapdragon, and..... see screenshot! :P
Alright!!! Now I've got an *excellent* reason to raise the Barn Owl or Hibearnate to epic level (even if that doesn''t happen before this Tuesday).
FINALLY I have something that's strong to Spring!!! :)
In a way it makes sense that Autumn is strong to Spring: the 'fall of the leaves that spring brought'...

Well, sometimes when I get bored with specific aspects of this game I try to find "something cool to do or to look at". I was a bit numb after seeing ANOTHER Plantlers egg on the nest and one in the den, so I sped the remaining 5 hours of breeding and hatching time away and put in a new breeding, with 4 elements this time (Quartz Quetzalcoatl + Comet Cougar): 14 hours... that left a 5 hour gap between breeding and hatching and the breeding would end around 4:00 a.m. which is a clumsy time. So, I decided to get rid of the Plantlers egg that had just started hatching too and decided to hatch the Barn Owl!
The reasons are:
-It's something cool and pretty to look at.
-It's difficult to get a gap as large as 17 hours without speeding something.
-I wanted to have this animal hatched ASAP as it is beeyyyoootiifoooollll. If only we could have TWO of these, I'd make one an epic and the other a normal adult!
-Speeding the last Plantlers away gave me precisely the bomb I needed for getting to 70 runes, so I now have started a new expansion that ends around 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. I can then directly create a grand dark habitat on that spot so as to be able to house some of the 'dark-something' outcomes from the current breedings.
-I want to have a good "Spring ****er".

To elaborate on that last point: In light of a tournament coming up and my discovery that it is strong to Spring, I want to have it handy for that. The evolution times quite handily are only 9 hours, so tomorrow when the Trick-or-Treent finishes its final evolution (11:00 a.m.) I can dedicate the flower to this owl, which finishes hatching around 8:00 a.m.
The Barn Owl only requires the feedings of a normal super rare according to the Wikia, so I intend to have it at level 10 before Tuesday's update, at not too high a food cost. Then, if the Tuesday update brings a tournament only, I can raise it to level 14 (I think I like the normal adult form better of this animal than the epic form) and instantly have a great addition to the fighter squad. If, OTOH, we do get a Storybook, she'll have to do at level 10 for combats. That's a bit weak against a level 20 Snapdragon, which we often find in the later rounds, but I'll have to adjust for that one way or another, depending on what feeding requirements are bestowed upon me next week...

Now... Isn't this one of the prettiest FFS eggs? :P

I just had a 4 hour gap and I too wanted my barn owl hatched so in the nest he went! Of course now ghostrich is going to be done way before barn owl is hatched but I'll try to wait it out because I really wanted to get barn owl to his habitat, I'd like to get him raised as high as I can before the next tournament. Plus I really need to get some of theses animals out of storage.
Good luck to all still trying to get the barn owl, as a community we seem to be on track.

This is the 2nd World Event I have participated in. I only got to collect the habitat in the last one. I'm glad I started the Prune Runes early. I collected my Barn Owl last night💙😊💙I love it's colors!!! I haven't got around to hatching it yet in hopes of getting the Ghostrich. I've already got the Trick or Treent & will work on Frightengale once I hopefully get Ghostrich. I'm still making sure to collect as many acorns as possible for the community to get the Hibearnate. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE❗️💙❗️

I have also already won the Reckless Roc from the Battleground😊 I wish I wouldn't rush through the events that aren't timed, so I wouldn't be stuck with gaps of nothing to do😕

4 batches of 6 mystic mangoes may give you more than rune prunes, and you can speed some up, so you can plant quicker.

On my wife's iPhone I would have probably been cutting it too close for comfort to get the Barn Owl or would have just fallen short somewhat. What I did was to use a decent bit of the freely acquired gems and speed-hatch several of the animals that were in storage there. I sped a Goblin Gobbler, the Ra, a bastet and something else I don't remember off-hand. It's a really handy and useful way of spending gems towards securing the owl.
This way these beautiful animals were finally hatched and started getting productive, as the cash income on that installation doesn't go all that fast, which is a major bottleneck for expansions, causing precious bombs to get lost because the rune amount has been met well before there's enough cash to expand...

I was just mined 15 bombs and managed to get 32 acorns. I have an egg and breeding that both end in 2 hours. I'm not sure whether to speed them (I only have 10 gems) or save it for something else closer to the end of the event. I also have my last 6 rune prunes ready to harvest a few minutes before the end, hopefully they don't end it early! I have 2,009 acorns, I'm so close! Congrats on finishing.

No, I've download all the games already, but...I did just have a look in my goalbook and I found 30 gems waiting there to be claimed! Whoo! So where exactly would it be best to spend these gems? Speeding or buying the acorns themselves? I'll be able to collect from the tree only another 3 times, 4 if I'm lucky.

Edit: I just realised, 1 acorn = 1 gem so I'll be able to buy an extra 40 acorns if I manage to somehow reach 2,160.

Normal I would say speed breed, because you will get acorns and bombs to mine with in hopes of finding more acorns. But being so very close I'd probably wait as long as I could and just buy. Or you could plant 1 hour crops and speed, I think it only takes 1 gem, that way you would gain some food too. Decisions decisions! Oh my fingers are crossed for you!!!
Oh and congrats on finding the extra gems that's a pleasant surprise!

I hope the next update isn't a storybook, although I've been hoarding food as well, just in case. If they make the storybook events too often it takes away the uniqueness, in my opinion.

So my game froze when I was tapping things and apparently I tapped the event button that that tells you the progress twice....and the second tap registered as me wanting to spend 267 gems to buy the rest of the acorns. When it unfroze I got the message that I had earned the barn owl and it was in my storage and the gems were gone. (Insert your favorite expletive here). There went the gems I was planning to use to get the Trick or Treent if my last breed attempt didn't go well. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

I would not advise you to do so through speed-harvesting, because every sped hour costs TWO gems, and only give ONE acorn.
Ideally, as you are very low on gems, I also wouldn't do so through speed-breeding, as the speeding of breedings only "cost" gems and don't give acorns.

By far the ideal route for you is to speed-hatch, because 1 hour of speed hatched time = 1 acorn, AND you're "helping" your forest getting populated, which is good for the cash-flow.
I'm looking at your forest right now, and the solution for you is easy-peasy.
The most obvious choices are to first speed-hatch animals that you have in storage that don't require a new habitat to be built. As a general rule of thumb, I'd first speed-hatch whatever you have in terms of world event animals, as these animals can go nowhere else but in the special habitats that were made for them, hence, they're not conflicting with your normal hatching strategies for housing animals of more common animals that can go in the normal habitats.
Some candidates in your forest are (assuming you have all animals):
-Egypt: Ra, Sobek.
-Icecream: Neapolitiger.
-Autumn: Autumn Equifox.

Then, you can put 2 "nature-something" animals in that empty Nature Preserve you have on the lower green plots, you can also upgrade it to house 3 animals, next, you can upgrade the fire habitat next to it and house an additional fire-something animal there; you could of course also sell the Armordillo baby that's in it for an additional spot. ;)

The above should already well cover it. If it doesn't, you can temporarily store some of the very abundant decoration you have around the den (and elsewhere in the forest) and put habitats there that are quick to construct. The fire and nature small habitats construct in only 10 seconds time and can house two animals each. And... if even that wouldn't be enough (which is not the case in your forest) you could temporarily sell the evolution flower and/or 1 or more farms and put habitats there....
Also: I see Halloween animals in your forest, but no Christmas, Valentine or Shamrock (unless I missed them). I'd expect you to have a good deal of that stuff in your storage. You can instantly place one or more of those habitats and then speed-hatch animals into that.

I'd go that route. From the amount of gems you mention having, you can probably only speed-hatch a few animals, so I'd focus on the coolest ones and/or special ones first. Personally I love the Egypt animals. If I were the owner of your forest, I'd start by speed-hatching the Ra and the Sobek (in that order). To be on the safe side: check the Wikia for the hatching times. The Ra is 22 hours from memory, so that's 22 gems to speed (and a 22 acorn income). If you do the math on the Wikia, I'm sure you can find a good solution.

Also, if there are some 2-4 gems left at the end, you could buy and speed-hatch Rock-Rhinos and/or a Frostfang. Finally, depending on the time you do this, and the animals you have in storage, suppose that after all this speeding you're still a little over 8 hours away from the end of the event, you could hatch one final animal without speeding, as long as its hatching time is a maximum of 8 hours.

Good luck! You can pull it off, I'm sure!

This is so helpful, ogreve! Thank you! I completely forgot about the eggs in my storage! I just speed-hatched my Ra, and now my Slippopotamus is hatching. So that will be another 16 acorns, making my total 2,077. If I can somehow manage to get three more acorns (I have no more trunk collections), then all I'll be relying on is S8 not pulling the event early. My prunes are ready literally seconds before the event goes! It's going to be a close one!

And with the seasonal animals, I only played during Halloween, I missed Christmas, Valentine & Shamrock! I really wish now that I played back then, but DS was more my thing. Hopefully they bring some back, maybe we'll get some today! I'd really like the vampire cat :p

I too wish for something like this. In Farm story we have a market to sell things we grow and collect (it actually helped me build my castle quickly in event currently going on).

I also love several features in Dragon Story-FFS probably doesn't want to do these because they will be called just a copycat, but surely they could come up with something similar yet original.
First thing I love in DS is the Stable to store up to 5 dragons and it can be upgraded to hold more.
Second is that dragons can be turn into elemental gemstones that then can be accumulated and then turned into rare dragons.... Imagine if you could turn all those Planthers, Plantlers, Fairy Ferrets, Armoridillos etc into dark, electric, nature, fire, earth, or water stones and then make those stones into a rare animal... No more selling for just $100!!!

As for the last 3 gems: do you still have a few gems left? If so, you can buy a Frostfang egg and speed that away, that gives you 4 acorns. It's best to do so about now, so you can use to last precious moments to harvest the prunes directly when they're available.

Lonepudding and puppyfrog: you might want to send an email about this to support to tell them that you would have made it if the event had ended at the right time.
They can check various things such as hatchings etc. with their server logs (or directly in their database). If you explain it nicely and ask about it, perhaps they'll award you the animal after all.
If you have screenshots showing that you were just off and would have made it otherwise, that's very helpful to them...
I hope you can still get it....

I was on 2147 and went to harvest my last rune prunes and the event had gone. I should have had time :(

I just got the pumpkin pal on both games and it looks like I'm on track to get the owl on both too. I hope I can keep up!
I got the barn owl on one of my games, but not the other. Strange.

LonePudding and others that would have made it if not for the event ending early PLEASE email support. I am so upset for you. I believe this happened in another world event, wonder what the resolution was.

Oh no! That's very unfair! I really hope support can resolve the issue and get everyone their animals! It definately can't hurt to email them, especially if more than one person has the same issue. Good luck guys! Fingers crossed for you!

Here's a bit of advice in this situation:
I would team up via PM with the other people who have reported here that they missed out in a similar way and then let one person send a combined email, summarising the exact situations for each of the people who have had such issues. Briefly summarise each persons exact situation, include their S8 IDs too and attach any and all screenshots that may show your acorn count up to as close as possible before the update. JPEG images contain so-called "EXIF" information in the headers, amongst which date-time stamps. Using that, along with the server logs, TL should be able to verify that you would timely have made it had the event not ended early. I hope for LonePudding that at least the Rune Prunes WERE still harvested right before the update. For PuppyFrog I hope the same can be said about the acquired gems. TL can verify these actions with the timelines of the event.
Finally, you can refer to this particular forum thread and inform them that you were honestly in line for getting the Barn Owl, and that you took all sort of gem-sepnding actions to see to it that you would get the Owl (like e.g. the speed-hatching of the Ra, Slippopatamus, etc.). With any luck Kooky, Elsa and/or Regina may have followed these posts real-time too, and can then hopefully attest for you that you reported the event to being gone before the update time and that you were in line for getting the Owl. If you want, you may refer to me as a "witness", but well, I'm not sure of course if that would help.
I sincerely hope they'll grant each of you the Owl!
Good luck!

Please note, that support will only work on the account of the player that is emailing. The combined email will not work. Anyone that had enough acorns before the time ran out but did not get this animal will need to send their own email to support@storm8.com for assistance.

Also this has been addressed on the bug thread

Elsa;1189071']The Tournament timer and battle animations were fixed in 1.5.2. You're playing an older version of the game. Please update your app for the latest fixes.

We checked on the event and confirmed the end time was 11:30am Pacific for today. If you had enough acorns, but didn't receive the reward, please wait for a response from Support to review your account.

Please continue any more discussions on this issue on the current thread (click blue arrow in Elsa's quote to be taken to the thread).

Thanks

I just got the desired 13 hours timer in the den for the Sugarskull Glider and decided that now would be a good time to speed-clear the nest of the latest Plantlers fail and hatch the Hibearnate. I did just that and look what a beautiful egg it has!
