So I just clicked on the troll castle to see how much more fertilizer I needed for the upgrade. Instead of the box coming up to show the requirements, the little purple diamond floated up and I was suddenly 31 gems poorer. The purple bubble to show how many gems it would cost to speed up never showed up. Just ... gems gone.
