I got a notification stating that Dragon Tales is now available in Android. So I got into the game and found out that there wasn't anything related to it. Kinda knew it would go that way since it was the same last time..

I went into the Play Store and there was an update for the original DS. Once I did that and went back into the game, the Dragon Tales event was there.

Also installed the original DS and had it come up...as well as the tournament (even though they are my nemesis). Never read much on the dragon tale threads because I didn't have access to the events, but quite curious as to how it plays out.

I had uninstall the regular edition due to lag but only play on the picnic edition from the time it was release.
I tried downloading the regular edition back but got that message which I find odd because I had uninstall/install several times to see if that helped with the lag.

It's a banner (I think) on the right side of the screen along with the tournament and value pack icons. You have to be using "basic" DS, not one of the newer versions like Spring or Country Picnic. It will not show in those.

With so much going on this weekend I'm going to wait a bit longer than I usually do to start this Tales event. I like to know what I'm getting into first, anyway. At least now I don't have to break out the iOS device every time I want to play this. Aside from the Arctic Isles(bleh) and the Albums, I think Android is now all caught up with the iOS version. Raho loves parity.

Tales start with a predetermined number of days. Within each day there are tasks to complete. Some are easy and some are hard . Some can be done ahead of time and some cannot. Would recommend to new players to check back frequently on this site to ask questions and get answers from experienced players. Or hook up with someone on your wall that has done it before and they can give you advice.

Other basics: There is one chapter per day. The early chapters are easy to finish in a day and the later ones increase in complexity and time. One you start you should try to complete all steps that same day. You have until your game resets - mine resets at 2 am cst. Some players spend gold to either skip steps or start a new chapter early. Opinions are mixed on whether or not this is a good strategy.

Some steps can be done early - usually on the first dragon you have to do the feeding on time, but once that first feeding is finished you can evolve your dragon as quickly as you want and save steps on future day. Other steps like crafting a spell scroll can be started in advance of the game - but do not collect the scroll until you reach the step where it is needed.

There are so many details that it is easier to look ahead as many days as you can and ask questions here to formulate your own strategy and timeline for completion. Players at different levels also have different goals and activities sometimes so you will see that on this forum as well.

Good luck.

I'm on android and have the dragon tales. I finished Chapter 1 Acts 1 thru 3 and got the Splatter dragon. Yea!
But, now I'm on Chapter 2 and have to feed my Splatter dragon 15 times!?
Android doesn't have the ability to feed 15 times since we never got the level increase.
I hope TL gave us a way to complete , since they gave us the event.

By feed 15 times they mean feed five times to get to level 2 then five times to get to level 3 then five times to get ready to evolve to level 4. Later steps will involve raising it to level ten but we've never had to raise to 15 before. Fingers crossed!

NB it is very important NOT to feed your dragon before you are asked to do this step because it won't count.
In later steps it is OK to raise it before you are asked.

I assume that with feed 15 times they mean you have to click that feed button 15 times, thus levelling your dragon up to the point where the next step is evolution.

From what I remember when reading the threads about previous Dragon Tales events it's best to start with empty breeding den, nest, evolution temple and farms. So I'm going to wait till I get everything out of there before I start the event

To all Newbies-

If you start at level 31 or lower your tasks will most likely be different. example others have to win in battle arena but since you are not at that level win you STARTED you won't do this (I know this from experience. As my first Dragon Tales as was below level 31 when I started but during the event I went over level 33.When you use the Enchanted Farm and plant Upgrapes, Rushrooms or Diamondates you get a huge amount of XP) You will have other tasks and some of the rewards may be different.

If you are new you may want to post that your are below level 31 and what the chapter and acts are. This way someone rwho eaches level 17 during the middle of this or someone who starts later will have some idea of what is going on.
Also if you are new to the forum, you can go back and edit a post. (example to add additonal chapters and acts each day)

Below are Guidelines posted by Maribou May in last Dragon Tales event (I found them helpful and have not changed any of their statement. I hope you find it helpful )

I wrote up some guidelines after the last Dragon Tales Event. Note that this information is based on past events and may differ from the current event.

How it works:
The event begins at reset (10:30 am Pacific time).
Each day ends and the next day starts at midnight Pacific time.
Each day ends at a fixed time relative to when you started the event. Say you start on a Tuesday, day 2 starts Wednesday at midnight Pacific time, day 3 starts Thursday at midnight Pacific time, etc. If you skip ahead on day 1 to play the tasks for day 2, you will still have to wait until Thursday at midnight Pacific time to start the tasks for day 3 unless you spend more gold to skip ahead.
Each day has a series of tasks. At the end of day one, you will receive a dragon. This dragon will need to be leveled up during the event and will need to go on special quests as prompted. You may need to make this dragon epic, so plan your food accordingly as it may take 100,000 food.
The tasks get increasingly difficult and more time consuming each day. The first 3 days are pretty easy and could all be completed in one day if needed.
You do not need to complete each day within that day. If you fall behind a day you will not have to wait until midnight for the next step, it will start right away.
The prize for the first day is a dragon. Even if you don't want to try to complete the event, you can play day 1 to get this dragon.
There are prizes for completing the tasks for each day of the event. Day 1 you get the dragon mentioned above. On days 2-7 the prizes may be coins & experience points, special event related d?cor, food, or maps. If you complete the event, you will receive a second dragon.
If the event ends before you have completed every task, you will not get the final prize.
Each task may be skipped by using gold. Sometimes parts of tasks may be skipped by using gold such as any task that needs to be done more than once.
Tasks may differ for players below level 31 as these players can't battle yet.
These events are iOS only.

When to Start:
You do not need to start right away. There is a window of time in which you may start the game. Your 7 days start when you start the event so your day 1 may be different from your neighbor's day 1. At the end of this window, the event will automatically start. You can chose not to participate in the event if you wish.
The last 3-4 days of the event will require a lot of attention. Schedule the event to work with your personal schedule. Maybe you have a family reunion and will be busy all weekend. It may make sense for you to start on Friday as the first 3 days are quick and easy (day 1 usually takes 5 minutes total, and day 2 usually takes 5-10 minutes if you plan ahead). Whereas, if you started on Tuesday you would need to spend a lot of time with the game. This either compromises your reunion or your ability to complete the event.
Days 1-3 can be completed in one day if necessary. Say the event automatically starts and you aren't free to play yet. No problem, start when you can.
Starting a day or two after the event begins means you will know what all the tasks are based on the information posted here on the forum. It is always easier if you know what to expect.

General Tips:
Check the forum for information on the tasks required for each day of the event. Use this information to plan your approach to the event. It will be much easier if you know what to expect and when you need to be ready to breed, battle, quest, craft, etc.
Do not use gold to skip to the next day. It is not worth it unless you are doing so strategically.
Some tasks can be done ahead of time: quests, crafting (such as spell scrolls), and leveling up the dragon received on day 1. Do not collect until prompted or it will not count!
Some tasks cannot be done ahead of time such as breeding and battling. If one of the tasks is to mate a certain dragon, you need to wait for the prompt or it will not count. Same goes for battling, you need to be prompted first.
You may need to breed two days in a row. Make sure your breeding den is available when needed. Plan your breeding for outcomes less than 24 hours if you need to breed the next day.
Each task may be skipped by using gold. The amount of gold varies depending on the task. Try to avoid using gold at the beginning of the event as the event will get more difficult each day and the temptation, or need, to skip tasks will increase.
If you are stuck on a particularly difficult battle, consider speeding up the time between battles instead of using an Ultimate hit. It only cost 4 gold to battle again right away compared to the 12 gold for Ultimate (30 gold if there is a tournament). You may choose to use Ultimate if you don't have many good battling dragons. If you do use Ultimate, use it within the battle as it will cost you 12 gold instead of the 30 gold required for each battle if you skip the task from the event interface.

Troubleshooting:
If you have completed a task and you haven't received credit for it, try force closing and reopening your game. To force close, double click on the home buton and swipe up on any apps you wish to force close. If that fails, try deleting our game and reinstalling it. Your game progress is saved on storm8's servers so you shouldn't lose any progress. You may wish to make sure you have a login for your storm8 account just in case you need it after reinstalling your game.
When prompted to feed your dragon, usually on the second day, feed it any amount equal to or greater than the prompted amount. If your dragon needs to evolve first, evolve it and then feed it. There should be time on day 2 to do this easily. Or you can pay the gold to skip this step, usually a very small amount of gold.

Planning for the next Dragon Tales Event:
Have the gemstones on hand to craft 2 Spell Scrolls (2 small yellow & 2 small green gemstones). The best way to do this is to trade your duplicate rare dragons. Rare dragons will give at least 2 small gemstones. Common dragons can work as they will give one small gemstone thugh it may not be th color you want. For instance, Wild is a common red-green dragon. Trading it will give you either a smal green or a small red gemstone so it may take several tries to get a small green gemstones by trading Wild dragons.
Consider keeping a stash of food on hand to level up the dragon received on day 1. So far, the most food required has been 100,000.
Have an assortment of small gemstones on hand to craft some required item. It is always easier to not need to speed breed, evolve, and trade just to craft an item.

Does a chapter equals a day? What's the incubation time of Splatter dragon? If I will start the event later, will I have less time to complete it?

Splatter is 4 hours incubation time while Comic is 5 hours.

A chapter is a day. There is no sense speeding up early in the Tales as each chapter starts on a calendar day basis. The 10 day timer doesn't start until you start. I thought the pop up said you had until next Tuesday (the 8th) to start.

Does a chapter equals a day? What's the incubation time of Splatter dragon? If I will start the event later, will I have less time to complete it?

Based on past Dragon Tale events.
1 day = 1 chapter

Splatter dragon 4 hour incubation
Comic dragon 5 hour incubation
Nouveau dragon 18 hour incubation

If the event is 10 days you have 10 days to complete. Day 1 is the first day you start. So people will have different end dates depending on when they started.

Hope this help.

The wording is a bit weird, but it just means to feed it 15 food. Usually one feeding for a level one dragon is around 15 apples anyway, so you only have to feed it once to complete "feed 15 times". Hope this makes sense. :)

"15 food" is different from "15 times".

"15 food" means that, if you feed your Splatter Dragon on lvl 1, one time, you will give to your dragon, 20 apples (food), the "15 food" thing will be complete because you only needed to gave him 15 apples.

while the

"15 times" means that you need to feed your dragon 15 times, each level you feed your dragon is 5 times, so "15 times" equals to 3 levels that you need to feed.

Roguebee, Theone2001, thank you very much!

I decided to start the event now, about 4 hours after it started. When I completed the first three acts, there were only 8,5 hours left. So the first day was very short. I have to learn a lot about these events.

Bad news is that in chapter 9 we have to feed splatter ten more times for an additional 72,000 food bringing him or her to level 12. So we really need food this time and if you cant get comic to level 10 in chapter ten the skip is 295 gems. Keep farming.....and good luck to everyone

Why would they require you to breed a virtue dragon? That seems really unfair...not everyone has one to breed, after all it is a rare. I happen to have 3 , two of which I sold for cash since the incubation time is so darn long. However, my wife doesn't have one and so she can't complete this quest. This seems really random and unfair to many. They should stick to only breeding commons!

That step is chapter 8, she does have a week to try to breed for it - longer if she doesn't start the goals right away. Good Luck!

*Also - Light and Fire only have 4 outcomes - Virtue (33hr), Laserlight (15hr), Love (5hr) and the Prime Power (28hr- both dragons must be lvl 15 to breed this) so chances are good to get a Virtue

Did you skip through all of that?! I like the dragons, specially the one who borrowed Beyonces colorful lakefront wig. But I swear this is going to be tedious. I'll try to do it on two accounts. I'm not looking forward to the stress of it, gold I'll have to surely spend here or there and needing to win a ridiculous amount of battles. Though the last one wasn't TOO bad for me. I had food saved up to feed who I had to feed. Now I have less than 100 apples trying to get a battle dragon to epic.

Good luck, everyone!

When to Start:
You do not need to start right away. There is a window of time in which you may start the game. Your 7 days start when you start the event so your day 1 may be different from your neighbor's day 1. At the end of this window, the event will automatically start. You can chose not to participate in the event if you wish.
.

I just started and my timer says 9 days and 5 hours - which implies perhaps we don't get to start individually - although again this COULD be a time zone issue with my device, as I am about 15 hours ahead of Pacific Time I think. I should check. Anyway, Australian Eastern Standard time, now is Saturday Sept 5, 11:31 am

Edit: Actually - the timer thing says "Event Expires" in 9 days and 5 hours, which may just mean I would have 9 days and 5 hours to start it? Clarification please, Theone2001?

Edit again: completed Chapter 1 and it says the Next Chapter unlocks in 5 hours - so I do think the timer gets a little confused with my local date/time, because 5 hours would be about your midnight, I think?

I missed the raising of Splatter dragon to Level 12 (feed 10 more times) when doing my original count. So it's 68,500 apples to feed Splatter dragon to Level 10, another 72,000 to get to level 12 and another 75000 apples to get Comic dragon to Level 10. So we are looking at 215,000 apples for this event...

In the wiki discussion, the admin mentioned that in the game data, chapter 6 act 2 is originally to raise Splatter dragon to lvl 15. Then on chapter 9 act 3 it says feed Splatter 10 times so it wouldn't have been possible even if the intention of the act is to go beyond level 10. I take it as the information posted regarding chapters 6 and 9 is not yet confirmed but hopefully it will be soon.

First Android Dragon Tales yay, with excitement came some question for me:

1) When it said to craft something, does it mean you have to start crafting the required item or collect the finished craft item to complete the act?
2) Can I send dragon out for quest early than collect later to complete the "Complete X quest" act?
3) Can I evolve my dragon before the required act (Like Chapter 3 require me to evolve Splatter Dragon to lv4, but can I evolve it to lv7 in advance and still complete the act when it comes?)
4) Is it usually enough time to finish the whole Tales without using gold to skip or the time is very tight-seal (like the Rainbow Sentinel quest)?

I would appreciate if someone can clarify these :o

Do you want to breed them from scratch because you don't have them, or are you meaning breed them with another in the Tales?

I only ask because although I had Virtue already, I have had to breed Night now in order to use later - which is tricky, given it is a 23 hour turnaround to get it.

We have all done something similar before ..... That's why the full tales list thoughtfully put on the forum helps..... I've just found I need to trade a yellow gem dragon for the spells scrolls in the future

Correction I need blue hedge for this one not scrolls :)

Yup.... If it's waiting to be evolved you can not feed it, well that's how I read it :)

I'm going to wait with this event till I have either Crusader or Quetzal at level 10, since I'll probably need them during the tournament. Does anyone know before what day the event has to be started? 7 days after release?

Yes, you can evolve before it becomes required in an act. You can also send your dragon out for a quest, just be sure not to hit the finish button before the required chapter, same with crafting.

Pop up said to start by Sept 8. I would assume it auto-starts after that.

Starting with Day 8, time is going to start getting tight with the need to win 4, 5, and 5 times in the Arena. Day 6 could be interesting if you started the Tales on Friday as it is the last day of the tournament.

Yike, lucky I have a bit of gold save up.

Thank you and jacksusa for the clarification. Btw, how is this waiting-between-chapter works? Is it 1 chapter a day? All this waiting is ****ing me :(

My first Tales event! Can't believe it! It is almost the same game for Android and IOS!! So my question is regarding the Cosmic dragon parts, if you already have 1 leveled to 8 does it count or do we have to breed a new one?

Is my thinking or planning right, I usually play the first 3 - 4 chapters by speeding up the chapters, because it doesn't take much gold to do it. As the chapters get higher it takes a lot more waiting time between the next chapter, plus a lot more gold, so I don't see how you can finish on time is you don't speed up in the beginning. The last few chapters the waiting time is anywhere between 4 - 5 days, if memory serves me.

Plus I started 5am eastern time today, I've started the tournament Friday, I'm on the 12th battle, so by the time I have to battle for this event, these battles are going to be a problem trying to win. Now I'm thinking maybe I should have started this event on Monday or Tuesday when I will probably be finished with the tournament and winning a battle won't be so hard. Here's hoping these battles are not too difficult.

My big problem being a newbie is I have no Night Dragon, required for Chapter 7. This is going to mean I need some luck and a lot of juggling.....

When you say newbie are you referring to your level or the fact that this is your first Dragon Tales event? If it is the former, and you are below level 31, you may not have to do that. Last month when I did my first Dragon Tales Event I had a much easier time as they didn't task the lower level accounts with much of the harder stuff. We didn't have to raise dragons to level 10, and obviously the battle arena wasn't an issue. They make you plant more crops and go on more Quests in lieu of those things.

But if you are at a lower level you likely won't complete this at all without spending gold(or real money). Most won't have the food required.

Android newbie to Tales. Does this tale auto-start at 12:01am Tuesday the 8th, or do I need to start it by midnight the 7th? If it auto-starts, do we have 10 days from the start time?

I'm wanting to wait so that the last few days of my 10 are the 15th or later after my husband goes out of town. A lot of this isn't going to be an issue because I can do it during my routine 'maintenance' of the game, and I keep 900,000+ food on hand most of the time (I grow food around the clock). The arena battles are another ball game since they can be challenging at times. From what I'm seeing in the chapter info posted, it appears that days 8-10 are going to be my busy days because of arena battles.

We've decided not to bother with the tournament and save the low level easy dragons for the later days of the Tales. We usually get to the last five or six rounds and get stuck on something with only 10% chance of defeat. I think it's unfair to run the end of the tournament along side the Tale. In previous ones, the tournament has started at the end of the Tale.

I got a gold sale today...am debating on whether or not to buy some, in order to buy food alone to finish. Also wishing I had waited to start the tournament since I am already up to battle 12, so the tough cookies are already appearing. I really love the final prize dragon but the other two I like also. At least I will have a better idea of what I am doing when the next Tales comes around.

You normally have to feed the dragons and level them per directions to epic.

As an iOS user I recommend saving your food...read the instructions...it does not give you the waiting times as it was 1 day 4 hours I believe from chapter two...to chapter three.

I'm not entering tournament....as there is 2-3-5 battles thrown in all timed...you can't afford the loss in time if you are battling a boss which has taken me up to 24 hours or more without doing ultimate.

Plus we have to breed forest to another....light ...yada yada ....

Duh I fed splatter vp before the quest directions ...throwing the beginning off

rheeanna

I've run out of time waiting and not spending gold to push things.....it's 6 hours on crafting a hedge....

A day and four hours from chapter 2-3

We have to breed three dragons....forest light and I believe one more.....

I never noticed time getting longer by speeding up the chapters as someone stated.....I have experienced problems getting the dragons epic to get the winner.

Each dragon tale has been a bit different....the first two we only received one dragon ....went through timed tasks with moonlight to get the winner....last dragon tale they had three!

Save food be prepared for the breeding, crafting and 2-3-5 battles and two epic dragons....as mentioned previously feed and level splatter and cartoon as directed or you throw the timing off. I've always run out of time unless I've pushed timers a bit....or not had enough food. This is an amazing dragon ....

Thanks for clarifying this. That means this Tales event is different than the past events (I haven't started my event timer yet, so I didn't realize it was actually 15 times!). Does feeding the dragon "15 times" still count if you do it before it asks you to like how it counts if you craft items ahead of time (as long as you don't collect until it asks)?

Each Chapter starts at midnight Pacific Coast Time. I am in Texas (Central time) so my chapters start a 2AM. If I started today, Chapter 2 unlocks at 2AM Sunday, Chapter 3 unlocks at 2AM Monday and so on until the last chapter 10 unlocks on Monday the 14th at 2AM. The event EXPIRES for me at 2AM Tuesday (9/15).

If you speed up with gold, the days unlock at the same time. Day 3 will still unlock on the 3rd day..... Day 10 will still unlock on the 10th day, you will just have to wait longer in between. It doesn't benefit you to speed up a day unless you are unable to play that next day(s) and want to get tasks done. If you fall behind a day, the chapter for that day starts right away. Be careful if you do fall behind as the event expires on that last day at reset time (2 AM for me)

This Dragon Tale is a bit different with feeding requirements, so be careful about feeding ahead. "Feed to level __" tasks were ok to do ahead, but "Feed __ TIMES" had to be done when prompted. Battles, feeding and breeding only count when prompted and crafts and quests could be started, but had to be prompted before collecting.

Hope this clarified things and didn't confuse :)

Good Luck!

Just to clarify - The steps about breeding the dragons, require you to put that dragon (Forest, Magic, etc) with any other in the breeding den, not to hatch one.

Does feeding the dragon "15 times" still count if you do it before it asks you to like how it counts if you craft items ahead of time (as long as you don't collect until it asks)?

You need to feed the dragon "15 times" when the chapter asks, so I recommend you to only feed the dragon when the dragon tales asks, because if you feed him right away to lvl 10, you will not be able to feed the 40 times needed (15-15-10) since form lvl 10 to lvl 15, you can only feed him 25 times.

The only times I recommend you to feed him before the chapter asks, is when the dragon tales asks to have the dragon on a certain lvl (4-7-10).

This dragon tales is a little bit different, yes, with Sorceress, Amphora, Astro and Portal dragons, we needed to give them, 20 apples each.

About the crafting thing, normally we can craft the Mystic Map before the event asks, and when we reach that step, we only collect the map, the same with the quest, we send the dragon before, and when the event asks, we press on the quest outpost, and quest done. This time I'm not sure if we can do the same thing with the Blue Hedge, I'm waiting for someone to post about that in here xD

Hope I was clear once more! :)

Thanks to everyone who has contributed helpful info so far. This is my first dragon tales challenge and first time using the forum which I've found to be really great for answering the questions I've had without having to even post. As a first-timer to Dragon Tales I was freaking out when I read stuff about arena challenges (having never done one or knowing nothing about what they are) but I've seen it mentioned that challenges are slightly modified for those under lvl 31.

Is there info anywhere on the challenge requirements for users under Lvl 31? I couldn't see it on the Wiki page. My biggest concern is that I don't have the dragons (Night & Virtue). My first breeding attempt was a miss so not sure if I'll strike it lucky in time.

Hello larney84,

As far as I know there isn't anywhere to find that info. I suggest anyone who is level 31 or below Please post that you are level 31 or below and what the chapters and acts are to help out the others below level 31.

My first dragon tales event I was below level 31 and there was no info. I didn't even know the tasks would be different. I thought I would have to do the tournaments. No one posted anything until about half way thru there was a person who started posting the chapters and acts. That helped me out that they posted. but I thought I would only have to craft 1 spell scroll but we (31 and below) had to do 2. I had the gems for one scroll but not the other. So I was scrambling to get the other two gems needed for the 2nd scroll. Also in that event we had to breed a Night dragon (all levels) with another dragon. I didn't have a Night dragon so I paid the gold to skip that step. I didn't complete that dragon tale. But I got a cool dragon from it.
Now I am above level 31. I have not completed a single dragon tales event. But I get some cool dragons from them.

So Please those of you level 31 or below, help each other out and post the chapters and acts.

Also prizes may be different too. So post those as well.

Good Luck!!!

Somebody check my calculations please.
But in chapter 6 act 2: raise splatter dragon to level 10.
but then chapter 9 act 3 : feed your splatter dragon 10 times. (this would be raising it to level 12????)

I thought level 10 was as far as we could go unless you had one of those Noble crystals.

I only have a couple of dragons at level 10 most mine are 6 or below. So my experience is limited.

How much food is needed for this event? I haven't started yet, hoping to farm up enough food before I begin

For Splatter it looks like he may need to go to level 12. (you will need the Noble crystal in order to do this) the food is 110,460 (thats level 1- 11 doing the 5 feedings that will put it up to 12)

Comic will need food for levels 1-9 plus evolution to reach level 10. Food for level 1-9 is 75,000

so total 185,460

Please some check my logic and math.

Larney I'm only a couple of levels above you and this is all new to me too. I had Virtue, but had to try and breed Night on day 1. I was lucky. But it adds extra feeding requirement to get him to level 4 and I've had to map out the evolution timings to ensure I make it on time.

Yes , U r right ! You will have to raise Splatter to Lv12 in CH 9 act 3 and u need to have Noble Crystal for the same !

The coins outlay is horrendous, not just the food required. 300,000 for decorations, 500,000 for a Noble Crystal I didn't have (was not on the Standard Android version before) and if I breed something like a gemstone, I'll need another habitat!

For the newbies like me, I do read that at later levels people have lots of coins, but those of us in the 30-odd levels - this is hard work! But good experience for next time.

I do so like the Noveau - I want, I want!

I'm in trouble as I'm on chap 3 n the splatter is on its way to L10 before the feeding.... I was looking at page 3 where there is no mention abt feeding 15 times again.... What should I do? Spend 15G to skip the step?

If already on the way to level 10, you must have evolved twice already which puts in in trouble for Chapter 5, where you have to raise to Level 7. Do you recall what you have already done with Splatter?

Yes i fed it all the way to L9 and hit evolve to L10. Should have gone back to page 1 to see the original update. Normally I don't make this kinda mistake. Looks like might have to bite the bullet n pay up 15G to skip the step, again on chap 5. Sux........

Hi theone2001, Yes I was lucky to come across some of the info as a heads up earlier in this thread. I started the challenge without knowing what I was doing and that's why I ended up here. I delayed on the picnic thing recently (and didn't realise the significance of taking the basket out of storage etc) so I decided looking for some guidance was a good idea. You've got a good way of looking at things though, any new dragons are a bonus even if not getting to complete for the final prize.

I've now noticed my first difference with being under Lvl 31 with the chapt requirements. Should I just post them to this forum do you think? Cheers :)

Larney I'm only a couple of levels above you and this is all new to me too. I had Virtue, but had to try and breed Night on day 1. I was lucky. But it adds extra feeding requirement to get him to level 4 and I've had to map out the evolution timings to ensure I make it on time.

I only started in the Arena a few days ago - it isn't too bad - my Parakeet has been a wonderful soldier!

Good luck!

DeeDe99 - Well I'm feeling a bit of relief with the arena stuff since I'm only at Lvl 28 but not sure what the substitute task will be. Good to know about Parakeet though (the first rare I got). It could be that the dragon requirements are different - Night & Virtue might not be needed?!? I don't know. I guess that's what I was trying to find out. I've just tied my nest up again for 22hrs with a failed Night breed attempt. But next Dragons Tale I'll be on the same tasks as the ones posted.

This is ridiculous no way can we grow this much food for these dragons to complete this in 10 days has any one got millions of food in stock.i sure haven't

Well, mathematically, in an ideal conditions of having 7 Enchanted Farms, you can grow 4 crops of Diamondate and 4 crops of Rushroom per day; which is:
((800x7x4)+(300x7x4)) x 9= 277,200 food (minus the 1st day since it's only half a day)

With this minus about 1-2 hours a day so it was definitely enough. It just the time is really tight!

The quest takes 3 hours to complete :)

Hi! First time posting here. :3

This has probably been asked a million times, but when crafting the blue hedge, are we supposed to craft it only when we reach the task, or is it possible to craft it beforehand and then collect it once we reach the task?

Thanks!

I'm on day 3. My splatter dragon is already at level 10 but Dragon Story is not recognising that it has already been fed and wants me to still feed it 15 times. At 6000 apples a time I will not be able to complete the quest. Usually it recognises it and allows you to one on :(

Dragosle, thank you very much!
I have enough food, but I worry about winning enough battles in time and getting not too long breeding hours, especially between days 7 and 8 (breeding night dragon with another dragon, and then breeding Virtue on the next day as the first act).

Will other players confirm this --Whether it is Red Hedge or Blue Hedge for them so that prior planning need not go wrong for those like me who has not reached at this chapter yet ??Also I am wondering , how can anyone reach to CH8 so soon , since every chapter opens up next day !! How is this possible ?

It is confirmed. A screen caption was uploaded at the wiki site that requires a Red Hedge on chapter 8. As for your second question, they used gold to unlock the next chapter early of course.

Sorry for that... this time we really have to be extra careful to feed only when prompted because S8 changed the mechanics. Since your Splatter is already on level 10, I think you only have two options: one would be to skip with 15 gold; or two, continue feeding your Splatter dragon 15 times after its evolution making it level 13. But then on chapter 9, you'll have to feed it 10 more times eventually reaching level 15. That's definitely a truckload of apples. It would make the 15 gold cost to skip the most well spent 15 gold ever. xD

I'm sorry about that. I read somewhere that its different now you have to be careful and only feed when prompted. You might have to skip those acts and hold off on feeding your dragon as I think it asks again later to feed it.

Glad to know you don't have the food problem :p

Winning the Arena matches sure is a bit difficult, especially in Chapter 6 when it was the same time as the last day of the tournament where most of players are at the final phrase and all the opponent dragons are at top level, unless you finished it early or holding on the battle and not aiming for its grand-prize. First Dragon Tales for me and it has to be such a tricky one xD

As for the breeding Night dragon part in Chapter 7, my experience is that breeding it with Water will likely to give a Coral fail most of the time. As long as you don't get a Penumbra, everything should be fine since you can prepare for all other acts in Chapter 7 beforehand. Let's be optimistic :)

Hate to see me stuck with a few last nasty dragons towards the end and trying to finish chap 6 at the same time. Good luck everyone.

My math gave me another result theone2001...

From my math:
Splatter food needed from lvl 1 to 12: 20-80-160-400-1,000-2,000-4,800-10,000-20,000-30,000-42,000 -> a total of 110,460 food (you don't need to feed from lvl 12 to 13, the amount for that is 54,500).

Comic from lvl 1 to 10: 75-150-375-900-2,250-3,750-9,000-21,000-37,500 -> a total of 125,000 food (once more you don't need to feed from lvl 10 to 11, the amount for that is 45,000).

So, form my math, in total we will need 235,460 food to feed both Splatter to lvl 12 and Comic to lvl 10.

This is ridiculous no way can we grow this much food for these dragons to complete this in 10 days has any one got millions of food in stock.i sure haven't

In fact, it is indeed possible. On my second account in 1 day, I have collected around 50,000 food, planting during 2 a couple of hours Upgrapes (10min), a couple of Rushrooms (1hr) and when I'm going to sleep I plant Diamondates (5hrs).

Upgrapes give you 3,000 food in 1 hr and 15,000 food in 5hrs.
Rushrooms give you 300 food in 1hr and 1,500 in 5hrs.
Diamondates give you 800 food in 1hr and 1,600 food in 5hrs.

Since my second account is low on food, I needed to do some math to see if I'm able to finish the Dragon Tales or not. Because of being low on food, I will only start the event, in the last day that we can start (Sept. 8th).

I'm not a dragon story expert by any means, but you CANNOT feed ahead of time. You have to wait to be prompted, if you fed to level 10, your gonna be stuck and will have to spend gold to skip or feed it the 6k per pop. But then later when it asks you to feed to level 12 in chapter 9 your gonna be stuck again because it is gonna be prohibitively expensive to feed for the task because you will already be past 12. Don't feed until asked, and be careful with leveling up too much without reading ahead to see what tasks will be expected so you don't go too far too soon with your dragon level.

It's very clever to plant upgrapes to get more food. I was surprised that upgrapes give so much food after looking at your post, so I calculated myself and got different numbers:

Upgrapes give you 600 food in 1 hr and 3,000 food in 5hrs.
Rushrooms give you 300 food in 1hr and 1,500 in 5hrs.
Diamondates give you 800 food in 5hrs and are 3,75 times less effective than upgrapes.

So with seven farms you will get in 5 hours
Upgrapes - 21,000 food
Rushrooms 10,500 food
Diamondates 5,600 food

Even I noticed that there was error in food calculation for Upgrapes ! But u corrected it ! However , I feel , For how many Players planting Upgrapes will not be practicable for such long period of 5 hrs or even more ! Theoretically , if 30 sec Plan is used , u get 720 per hr , so 3600 for 5 hrs and 25200 for 7 plants . It looks really tempting but unless you play only game and do nothing else , then only it is feasible ! But I feel , it will not be practicable option ! So , calculations should be based on sutaibility for majority of Players ! Ultimately , every one should plan and optimise it as it is feasible !

My calculations are right, only about the Upgrapes, but I didn't explained in my post.

6 farms, with Upgrapes will give you in 1hr 3,000 food, and in 5hrs 15,000 food.

I only counted with 6 farms, because I normally leave 1 farm with 1hr of Rushrooms because of the Battles.

Not everyone can play the game for the whole day, I know, and I'm sorry about the Upgrapes calculation, but I forgot to explain what I had done.

But I'm sure that some of the players can play, at least, a minimum of 5hrs per day, and if they can do that, they only need to plant the food with the time and the amount they actually can offer, and during the night, the pumpkins 5hrs crops are the most efficient ones.

You definitely have to be careful about the feeding steps, but the evolving should still be ok. What are we supposed to do, feed the Splatter up to the point of evolving in chapter 3 then let it sit until chapter 5 when it says raise to level 7? I went ahead and evolved it...if it's wrong then it's wrong and I will let you all know.

In other news I bred my Forest with Melody for the first part of chapter 3 and got a Cupcake!

On my level 150 IOS game,
ACT 9, Chapter 3 says to raise your Splatter Dragon to level 13

ACT 10, Chapter 1 says to craft a RED hedge

This would solve the Feed 10 times issue with feeding early. unfortunately, it also means one more level of food required:(

On my small account, I don't have the coin for upgrapes, so I plant 30sec to 3 min crops constantly for a few hours while I watch tv in the evenings to get food.

I'm currently waiting on chapter 4. There's a gold sale going on & I'm debating on whether or not to buy 530 pieces to help stock up on food. I'm alternating between the 10 minute crop & 1 hour crop (300 or 50 foods depending on the amount of coins I have) depending on how busy I am, and I do the 5 hour crop for overnight. I also send my magic dragon on quests whenever I'm not using my splatter (currently on level 7) dragon for quests. What's the best food growing strategy for feeding both the splatter & comic dragon to the required levels? I would like some opinions please.

You can evolve your dragon before the step that asks to have your dragon in a certain lvl, but you cannot feed him before the step asks for that, if you put your dragon on lvl 10 in the first chapter, you will not be able to feed him the 40 times in total needed, so you will need to spend gold.

If you want to put your dragon since the beginning on lvl 10, only do so after completing chapter 2, after that, you will only need to feed him 25 times, since your dragon is on lvl 10, with the 25 times of feed, your dragon will go to lvl 15.

Ouch ouch I do not know if that counts, my Splatter is already LVL 10. I'm in Chapter 3 :(

Actually, if your dragon is on lvl 10, and you didn't gave him any food since he is on lvl 10 and if you still need to do act 2 from chapter 2, that requires to give him food 15 times, you will be able to do so.

Each lvl requires to feed the dragon to the next lvl, 5 times. This means, from lvl 10 to lvl 15 you still can feed your dragon 30 times when you need to feed him 15 times on chapter 2 and 10 times on chapter 9, this makes 25 times in total.

Conclusion, don't feed your Splatter anymore :p Just wait for the chapter and step that asks for the feeding times ahah

Act 9 ch 3 on my level 150 IOS game says to raise Splatter Dragon to level 13.

This would solve the Feed 10 times issue with feeding early. unfortunately, it also means one more level of food required:(

On my small account, I don't have the coin for upgrapes, so I plant 30sec to 3 min crops constantly for a few hours while I watch tv in the evenings to get food.

It's even worse... Feeding 10 times a dragon will evolve him to lvl 12, since he is already in lvl 10, we only needed to feed him 2 levels with 96,500 food, since TL wants us to lvl him up to lvl 13, this will requires feed him more 5 times and spent more food, 79,000 food to be exactly.

Ugh! Just now realized we're supposed to feed beyond level 10. I wasn't even going to buy the Crystal before getting a good number of my dragons to level 10. Don't really feel like trying to finish this now. We'll see. Good luck everyone!

You only need to feed Splatter to lvl 12, Comic only needs to be on lvl 10.

I have a problem. I didn't read stuff about this story and I fed my splatter dragon and evolved it to level 10 BEFORE I got to Act 2 of Chapter 3. So, needless to say, I can no longer feed my splatter dragon because I already fed him/her. What can I now do? It would seem to me I should get credit for feeding but I didn't.....

I'm on day 3. My splatter dragon is already at level 10 but Dragon Story is not recognising that it has already been fed and wants me to still feed it 15 times. At 6000 apples a time I will not be able to complete the quest. Usually it recognises it and allows you to one on :(

The same happened to me. Now I'm trying to feed it 6000 apples at time. I wish I would have known to wait. very frustrating

I'm sorry about that. I read somewhere that its different now you have to be careful and only feed when prompted. You might have to skip those acts and hold off on feeding your dragon as I think it asks again later to feed it.

It's not suppose to recognize.

And there is indeed a difference :)

I have a question and I hope someone can help. I play on Android and this is my very first Dragon Tales. I am currently waiting on Chapter 5 to unlock. The timer gave 2 days and 13 hrs to unlock. I used gold to unlock the first few chapters so I wouldn't fall behind. My question is, with me waiting for Chapter 5 to unlock without spending 20 gold to unlock it early, does Dragon Tales give you enough time to complete it? Right now I will have only 6 days to complete the remaining chapters. And does it always takes so long for the next chapter to unlock or does that increase the further you get? Thank you for any and all help.

Easiest way to explain... look at a calendar. Each day is a separate block. You can open a block early, but the next block still opens on its original scheduled time. It does not shift forward in time. You can pay to open Chapter 5 early, but chapter 6 will still open on it's original scheduled time. So as a lesson for the next Dragon Tales, you do not need to speed up the first few days of the event as you can do them so quickly. Yes, if you pay attention to the tips and tricks people post, you can accomplish each day's Acts in one day (assuming you don't have a really bad day at the Arena).

Thank You Cocauina, That's why I asked someone to check. But in some later post they are saying the requirements are slightly different by raising it to level 13 instead of feed it 10 times. So the cost could be even more.

Cheers :)

Hello larney84, Yes post it in this forum. That way everything about this event is in one place and easy to find. Just make sure to indicate your a level 31 or below so it doesn't cause confusion. LOL

Some of this stuff is a learning curve in trying to understand how things work. Just FYI for future community events If you have your farms doing 20 hr crops (add in a 5 or 8 hr occasionally to work with your schedule) , plus the breeding, and whatever item gives you something every 4 hours. You should be able to get enough points get through it and get all the items.

Good Luck in this event!

Me too! I have the Blue Hedge crafting in readiness for later and I'm terrified I'll accidentally hit "Finish" by mistake when I am collecting coins from the habitats! My farms are well away from the Spell Shop, but even so......

iPad is supposed to arrive today, hopefully a bigger screen will mean less finger slip-ups!

I've been wondering - how on earth do you Level 150 peeps collect the coins? Having to tap every habitat must be time consuming and, one would think, rather a boring task!

You're welcome! :)

I have done my calculations after the the the Dragon Tales was released xD My second account doesn't have the amount of food needed, in fact, it was low on food, so I needed to see how many food I needed and how many food I needed to plant and what I should plant. I'm also waiting for Sept. 8 to start the Dragon Tales and since Sept. 4 that I've been planting food, had already 89,000 food and now I have 143,000 of food!

Yes, I already saw that, if that happens, we need to add to the amount from lvl 12 to 13 of 54,500 food.

Splatter total amount of food required is 164,960.
Comic total amount of food required is 125,000 (the same).

The amount in total required is 286,960! :p

I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers for the Comic dragon. From level 1-10 it should only cost 75,000 food in total. And the Comic dragon doesn't need to be raised higher than 10

EDIT: I think you calculated raising the dragon up to lvl 11, not 10

EDIT 2 (For Clarity): The total food needed for Splatter is 164,960. The total food needed for Comic is 75,000. This means that you will need 239,960 food for this Dragon Tales.

Since the prize after chapter 5 is 10,000 in food, you can subtract that for the amount of food needed.

Oh, goodness. I'm on android so I'm new to this, but this event looks super difficult! There is absolutely no way I'll be able to grow that much food so fast. Apparently you need to do the acts in each chapter in order? I started crafting my blue hedge at reset and at the same time won a battle. When I woke up this morning, I collected the hedge and went on to win my next battle. But shows me now as only having won one of the two battles required. So I never received credit for winning that first battle prior to collecting my crafted item.

ratsinthecity
09-07-15, 09:16 AM
You ABSOLUTELY have to do the acts in order of the request. You cant battle before it asks for the blue hedge craft and then expect it to credit you for the battles you did before it asked you to do the battles. It will not credit you for things you collected prior to a request (like a crop or a craft), it will not credit you for a quest you claim before it requests you to claim it, it will not credit you for feeding a dragon prior to the request, it will not credit you for a battle you did before the request. It WILL credit you for a dragon level that you have made prior to a request, and it will credit you for a crop you planted ahead of time and harvest when asked if the task is for you to ONLY harvest said crop, it will credit you if you send out a quest and then claim the quest upon request (be sure not to claim the quest before it asks). So, all in all just be careful, some things you can set ahead of time but not claim until requested, some things you cannot do ahead of time at all, and some things it will credit you for doing ahead of time. It is meant to be fun, but there are rules, and it can be confusing what you can do ahead of time, what you get credit for and what you can set up and claim upon request.

I had no gold and almost no food, prior to starting the event. I have 7 farms and 2 gold giving dragons - 10 gold per day.

In order to make all this food needed in time, I had to change my routine of planting dimondates on my 7 farms and harvesting whenever I happen to see them ready.
Since there is also a tournament going on, which I would like to finish as soon as possible so I don't have to do "Win 3 Battle Arena matches" while battling the hardest opponents of tournament I decided to is to plant rushrooms on 7 farms and set alarm every hour to battle, harvest and replant during the day and plant diamondates at night.

I think once an hour is about as often as I want to deal with this game, even if I have nothing else to do, which is not true anyway. Any shorter time for food planting would be exhausting.

So far I have 68,469 apples and splatter dragon at level 7 and about to fight 28th dragon - Helios 20. I haven't used gold yet.
I figure if I don't have the apples to feed level 10 splatter 10 times or raise it to 13 I can use gold to skip that.

I only calculated to lvl 10, but I probably messed up a little bit of mu calculattions and added 50,000 that wasn't suppose to be added, but yes you'r calculations are correct.

Splatter needs 164,960
Comic needs 75,000

In total we need 239,960

Thank you for the correction! :)

As an android player, this is my first tale. This is what it tells me:
-As a matter of fact, I have 2 forest dragons, which meant just a 20 sec breeding fail for chapter 3-1;
-I, too, was too fast with feeding and evolving the Splatter dragon, I used 15 gold to skip chapter 3-2;
-Now on chapter 4 waiting for the trading portal (Comet dragon is being crafted!) to craft a hedge, it's a good thing you don't have to finish each chapter within a day;
-Winning battles is usually not a problem, but I'm currently at the end of the tournament, which doesn't come very well timed;
-300k coins on decorations? I think I'll buy an olympic banner...
-Breeding Light, Magic, Night and Virtue dragons no problem, just figuring out which combinations give lowest fail times;
-10k food as a prize is pathetic, since we need over 200k for this tale;
-I wasn't really going to buy the noble crystal but because we have to feed the Splatter dragon after level 10, I'm afraid I'll have to;
-I might speed up the start of chapter 10 (if it's not too expensive), because I'm celebrating b-day sunday!

I might be able to finish this tale, taking in mind that I:
-have plenty of coins;
-started the tale with 180k food. Normally, I'm down to zero food as far as possible, but with the picnic event dragons taking a lot of time to evolve, I was able to save some apples;
-am very lucky to have some time off.

Considering the above, I don't think tale events are fair. If you're not a high level player or have to work 5 days a week, there's NO WAY you can finish the tale without spending gold. I think it's RIDICULOUS that you can play only one chapter a day, it would be VERY NICE to have some extra time left for those time consuming last chapters! (I'm sorry for SHOUTING now and then, but I really think it is NOT FAIR!)

Edit: breeding Light and Virtue with Fire for a 5 hour Love dragon and breeding Magic and Night with Water for a 10 hour Coral dragon sounds good to me. Any other suggestions are welcome!

Ugh! I keep messing up on this event. Just planted food overnight and forgot I was supposed to plant Pumpwings. There go another five hours. Well, I'm probably stuck with Warrior Queen for most if not all of the day tomorrow anyway. Lol

Just want to thank you Sha_gayle, for helping those 31 and lower. I was in the same boat as you at one time too. If possible can you post prizes too. I know when I did my first dragon tales they were slightly different.

Thanks for posting.

Hi! oops sorry about that, totally forgot about the prize after each chapter. I've updated my post now :)

I would also recommend breeding with Olympus. For Magic + Olympus, its only an 8 hr Hermes (longest time is 13 hr Artemis, rather than a possible 25 hr Penumbra).

Is the Dragon Tales event only available for certain phones, Android OS, etc.? Keep getting in game prompts to download the latest version of the game, but there's nothing in the Play Store for me to download.

The DT event is available for android now too. You have to download the original Dragon Story version 2.2.2.1g (not Country Picnic, Pool Party or others) or upgrade the original version if you have it, and you will get the Noble Crystal, new expansions and the new Dragon Tales Event. I am playing on android too, and I got all these features with the original version three days ago.

Olympus... good thinking! :D
Olympus*Magic can also give olympus/blue hybrids, the same goes for Olympus*Night (max breeding time still 13 hours for both combinations!)
I wonder what happens if I breed Olympus with Light or Virtue, since there are no olympus/(white/red/pink) hybrids available...

Olympus+ Magic will only give purple/olympus hybrids because Magic is one of the only dragons who doesn't split (it will never split into red/blue, it just stays purple). However, Night + Olympus will also give all the blue/purple fails, meaning that the max fail is still Penumbra at 25 hrs. But it's still a really good combo, because it adds much shorter common fail times! :)

IRRC, I believe that Olympus+Light or Virtue will only result in a 7 hr Olympus dragon since there are no hybrids (of course virtue can also split into red/white fails).

Hope all that made sense!

I can understand that everyone feels worried reg outcome of breeding Night with another dragon -- since longer time fail may cause problem as next chapter starts with breeding Virtue with another -- so unless breeding den is empty , this can't be done ! But I have seen , many players seem to be worrying about Breeding Virtue with another ---WHY??? Go for ur regular breeding using Ofcourse Virtue as one of the Dragon and there is absolutely no Need to worry about longer fail since there is no breeding programme in next chapters !

How can this event be finished when you have to wait days to start a new chapter? Right now it says I have to wait 4 days to start chapter 7...only have 8 more days to complete the tale...am I missing something?

Did you skip chapters? The game doesn't proceed based on how fast we finish a section. The chapters start for us all at the same time.

I've just reloaded the forum and noticed that some of this info has since been posted (Chapt 1). I'm only up to Chapt 4. I start Chapt 5 in about 30mins. I thought it might be a good heads up just in case some ppl under lvl 31 are thinking about preparing to start say their "Craft a Blue Hedge" earlier ready to collect in Chapt 4 - you can save your 50,000 ;)

I hope this helps out the under Lvl 31 players.

I am ready with chapter 5. I was afraid to do something wrong, so I kept my Splatter dragon in the Evolution Temple till I got the Act 2. Raise Splatter dragon to level 7. Only then I took my Splatter from the temple. I wonder if the act would count as completed if I had a level 7 Splatter in the habitat before getting the act. Could someone confirm that it would count? I would like to evolve my Splatter to level 10 today, but I only will get the act about raising it to level 10 tomorrow.
