Just use Magic Dragon (someone said on this post this one is strong),
Fire Dragon (I'm win with this level 1 several times (bbb)...look like baby is better than level high for this dragon...can beat Helios Dragon (20) just one hit on other tournament),
Light Dragon can win too.
Previous Tournament win by Sunrise Dragon just one hit (B)...I will use this one for next time again.
Can use Firestorm Dragon too.

Try ivory for the king, mine was only L5, the queen when down eventually to Astro , the princess went down to Flametail bM , can't help on prince as had to ultimate on him as he was eating everything AND he was my first opponent in the tales battle ..... Bad timing on my behalf

This tourney Fairytale worked great for me against Helios. Past winner against Helios: Light, Firestorm, Water, Sunrise, Cotton Candy. Maybe you can also try another white-pink, fairytale type or Dino type dragons if you have one, such as Tiny, Never Ending, Chesire, Big Bad, Dino, Triceratops or Pterodactyle. If you have Diamond and hybrids, try Angel or Unicorn. Good luck. :)

I have used my Ivory level 3 against warrior princess, warrior king and warrior queen and It took them down first time with one bash each time. I only used it because someone else on this blog suggested it. However, not all suggestions here work because what works for one player might not work for another. Keep trying and healing. Olive72, thank you very much for your suggestion to use Titan dragon against Rex! I was able to win with it after three losses.
Also many thanks to the person who suggested to use Flametail against champions. Even if my Flametail is only level 9, it was strong enough to defeat Warrior Princess.
It's the first time I had a level 15 Diamond and it helped a lot in this tournament. I almost did not have difficulties with champions this time. My Warrior Prince is in the nest now.

I won with Fire this time. On previous tourney (Beastmaster's tournament I guess) I won with Light. Another alternatives you can try if you have one: Stone, Golem, Mossrock, Turquoise, Marble, Idol, Tropic, Shell, Turtle. Good luck, Amalsaba. :)
Oh yes, if u have Diamond and hybrids, try Crusader or Prism.

If you have a high level green dragon like Forest (with magic, magic combo) I would use that instead of anything red, white or yellow. If that doesn't work, use the Magic Dragon.

If u feel like it use forest again but this time instead of a magic attack use bash and either use bash only or mix of both. Hope u defeat Helios fhe very next battle. All the best.

I agree too! there seems to be no rhyme or reason to these battles. what works for some people will not work for others and what has worked for one person, won't work for them a second time. It is very frustrating. I'd hate to see so many people devote so much time, logging in every hour to battle just to miss out on the prize (myself included!) it is very unfair

Do you have any purple/pink super rares? or Purple/yellow super rares? Those rank highest on the battle arena calculator, along with champions at 45%. Tricolors like Tricorn & Venetian are up there too (also have the purple/yellow element).

Yes! To the last 7 posts, something is off & it started for me the last flash tourney. I've not been beaten up so bad in at lease a year. I don't mind a few losses. I don't mind one dragon giving me fits here or there but to be here for days and get one or 2 dragons down. I had zero losses to round 19 then it allllll went to pot. Makes little sense!

Well i gave up & used my only ultimate in this tourney. I lost 10 times to Rex, I already had a long spa line from the last flash tourney, so when my spa hit 44, I used an ultimate. I can't imagine the next round being any easier & I won't have anything good to throw at him if I don't stop the bleeding now. My longest loss in one round is in the upper 20's & I fully expect to need the next 24 hrs to do this. Lord I hope I'm wrong but this has been ridiculous. I never complain about losing but I'm starting to not enjoy the tournments. It's supposed to be a game, a fun one. It's becoming a dreadful chore. A chore I won't soon forget considering how busy my little spa is going to be for the next few ohhhh months! ~Jen

I think it was the Princess I used an Ultimate (EDIT no, it wasn't - but I can't remember who it was) because I was going to give up and just concentrate on the Tales - it was cheaper to Ultimate than skip. Then I saw others using "normal" dragons and winning, so I tried the next round and hasn't been too bad since then -apart from Divine, but I persevered and finally got her. I've been pretty constant pushing the exhausted ones through the spa - even popped one in on a middle of the night trip to the bathroom!

It has been a huge learning experience.

Now to get that Prince..... I hope. At this point I will feel no shame if ultimately I resort to Ultimate. Next time I'll go clean! :cool:

That's even more impressive missy. You rocked this tourney with your 43 dragons. I have 35 champs alone. So much good they've done me but I have 420 plus unique dragons and probably 10-15 deplicates. My double epic unicorns came in handy today. The first unicorn loss was so close that I threw in the extra an hour later & wound up winning without having to heal it. After 8/10 losses it was a nice advantage.
I've also been playing for 3 1/2 years so I got some time on you. Which is why I'm very proud of you sticking with it! Almost there!

I was loosing all day to Rex yesterday. I finally beat him this morning mB but after I collected some coins from habitat I noticed that the fireworks are back on the arena :( It didn't register. So I figured use the same dragon to beat it.... It (epic Big Bad filed miserably) and now It's afternoon and I'm still fighting silly Rex.

You know what's funny. I've been done with the tournament since yesterday and guess who shows up in a normal battle? You guessed it - Warrior Prince. I took him down again with the dragon I used to win the tournament - Frostfire. If you're still getting to the end of it, use Frostfire of any level with bash, bash. If you need a 3rd hit, hit him with magic. My results of the tournament are on page 52 if you need a little help.

After losing Watermelon, Splatter, Diamond, Parakeet and Epic Fire and with several in the Spa queue and Light breeding, Magic about to breed (so needs to healthy) I was out of options. Ultimate by Nightlight it ended up being. *sigh* But it is a legal Arena strategy, so I'm not being too hard on myself. I didn't break any rules!

Warrior Prince is in storage - he's going to have to wait a little bit. Nouveau has priority now and the food requirements are going to be very much touch and go, according to my spreadsheet.

On top of that I need to try to accumulate more chandelier crystals and be able to start crafting after the red hedge...... that might be a long shot.....

You could try forestfire or picnic. I definitely find more success with the tri-color dragons against champions. That's just me though, I hope this is somewhat helpful. You're almost there, gl! ;)

What usually works for me on champs is Tri-color, low level dragons. If I attempted to use a Diamond hybrid, I usually failed. I know what works for some may not work for others. I wish you Goodluck!

Didn't have much more time to battle today so I'm not going to win the tournament, but at least I beat the next two opponents and completed the 3 required battles for the Tales. I hope I have better luck with the next champion tournament. I only have Battlesteed so far and he did a great job on most rounds.

Just wanted to give a bit of help for those still battling for Warrior Prince. After trying all day to beat Rex (I finally used Ultimate since I have to work on my dragon tales event too) and Warrior Prince, I finally beat Warrior Prince with a level 10 Fire Giant bWw. I do have to agree with many who have commented that the last two battle arenas have not been fun but stressful. We do have other things going on in our lives besides this game. There are also many more dragons to use in battle which actually makes it more difficult than when I first started. If this continues I may just give up doing the battle arenas and just do casual, less stressful breeding only.

There has been quite a bit of discussion on this thread about how different the last two tournaments were, unpredictable results, etc etc.

I am just throwing a theory out there for consideration. Some of you, I think, also play Fantasy Forest Story. I popped in to have a look at it and have moved myself up to level 10 or 11 when filling in time between DS battles. Anyway, what I did notice is that in FFS battles are much more an integral part of the game and the players win coins, food and gems (equivalent to DS gold). Bear with me, I'm getting to my point slowly, I know.

In FFS when you hit the attack button, words flash up on screen re the attack you have made. "Strong Attack", "Weak Attack", "Critical Hit". Yet the player has no control over the strength of the hit, the player just hits the button. A PyroPony (I think it is) can go to battle against the same opponent with completely different results each time. Lose because of three week attacks the first time, win the second time with a Critical Hit and a Strong Attack.

It is reasonable to assume that the battle code used in these games is very similar or is being made more similar over time (less maintenance with the same code, of course). In DS we see the effect of our attack on the opponent, but not a rating of the strength of our attack, if you see what I mean. Was our attack a strong attack or is the opponent actually weaker? There is no way in the real world a level 1 year old child (a Fire just out of the nest) could be physically stronger and more battle-hardened than a twenty year old soldier (level 15 Infinity), for example, magical powers notwithstanding.

To me, new to all this, the FFS battles seem much more randomised that what I initially thought DS batttles were, based on the calculators available and everyone's careful opponent planning.

But looking at the results of this tournament in conjunction with everyone's comments and my limited experience of the FFS battle programming - it is possible changes have been made to make DS battle results much less predictable and more like what I consider FFS's are: totally randomised.

Just some thoughts....... I could be completely wrong. :confused:

You can get lucky and get a critical hit with anything but the weak and strong attacks are always the same and predictable. There is a very helpful thread on the first page of the FFS forum called: Battlegrounds & Tournaments: Strategy Guide & Discussion. You can find charts there with the strengths and weaknesses listed. They sometimes tweak the strengths of new special elements against the older ones but otherwise it's very set. :)

We also have a very kind member chippychan who always creates an awesome chart specifically for every tournament.

I'll believe you! I'm only "fiddling" in FFS, I have no desire to persevere, but it just struck me as I described. I'll have a look at the thread you mention more from an interest in the programming behind it all than battle strategy. The problem with being an IT person is we always want to know - or hypothesize - how they coded the back end.

I have to say I think the winning food, gems and coins is good. One can never have too much food, it seems, in DS (above level 10) these dragons EAT!

That is really interesting, what he/she is doing charting all those results. I haven't obviously had time to look in detail, but I can see the logic in accumulating the data the way it is being accumulated.

I'll compare the next time I am in FFS. No, I am NOT getting hooked on a second game - I don't have time!
