diamond squares

how to remove diamond squares. I can make a match and it lights up, but wil not count towards total score.

You have to make a match by all of the diamond squares. Once they all are lit up they will take a decent amount of points off your enemy. There is no way of taking them away. If you use them to your advantage, you can beat levels faster and easier.
