Battle/Tournament Dragon Pieces for Crafting

I am the worst at battles and I have never won enough to earn the pieces needed to craft a dragon. Because of this, I have all kinds of pieces in my storage for different dragons. Do these dragons cycle around, where in the future I will be able to earn more pieces and craft the dragon? Or are these pieces just sitting in my storage never to be used????

So far, there has only been 1 re-introduction of an old/expired dragon that required us to ask neighbors for more parts.

The rest, however, are stuck in our storage as they are useless until TL finally re-introduced the expired dragons back into the game
