Monsters no longer dropping tokens

I was fighting monsters and collecting tokens (already traded in tokens for treasure and have 2 gold tokens). Now when I fight these same monsters they are not dropping tokens. What's up?

The monsters only dropped tokens during Season 1 of Monster Mashing ...they won't drop tokens again until the limited time of Season 2 (& nobody knows when that will be).
