Ahhh dang it, I knew I should have checked my game last night and earlier today. All my counters are empty and im scrambling to make stuff. Also, so many recipes and im way behind. Id love to get that sushi table but saving my paltry 60 gems, for if I have to speed my way through a couple things later. This looks fun and super cook.

And I HOPE, we can keep at least one recipe when its all over. We are long overdo for them.

like this one already.. i was surprise to see the really pretty tiles and wallpaper were coin items instead of gems..it actually makes me want to spend gems on that pretty counter now.

my favorite part is going to be all the new recipes but, most of all i trully like how the temporary market items i purchased for these recipes did not count against my storage amount... thanks S8 for that, looks like this festival is going to be a winner :)

EDIT: okay one downfall on this festival, the ginger requirement! my garden only likes garlic and basil these days..

This has happened 3 times already. Making dishes, leave and nothing has processed. Make a dish, game freezes like its had one too many drinks and goes back, but ingredients are gone and no progress. Make dishes, goal recognizes it, game refreshes and I have to start all over again.

The eel sauce needs sugar, plus ive to make a carrot cake and sugar cookies. Ill skip the cookies once my cake is done. IF it doesnt reset. Because I really, really want those recipes if we are going to keep them at the end. The sushi and ramen. Im excited!

But I still have to give my gripe, these times goals like this, all that cooking, stuff using similar recipes is a bit much. And this from someone who can collect five of everything at one time.

I don't understand the step numbering here. Usually it's just Step 1,2,3...not 10-5and 7-3 or whatever. Also, can someone post all the steps in order? Would be great if the OP or mod would keep updating the first post. Whoever posts first should follow up and copy and issue the steps into the first post as they come.

I was thinking the same! I have 3 ginger in the garden rnow, but we need it for each roll dish, which means we would need lots of it! Someone mentioned that Japanese women drops sometimes ginger, but I think it should more often since we can't predict ginger since it's so random.

I rarely get ginger in mi garden :( needing a random occurrence of a certain ingredient don't seem fair. with new npcs we know that when they pop up we will get an item we need, but a garden item where it's all random means even if we planting every half hour n deleting basil and garlic we still not guaranteed to be able to get ginger for this event. Have the chances of actually planting ginger increased?

They are, as you suspected, in the seafood market. It looks like you can do the first quest w/o the market, but the 2nd quest is going to require it. Up to you whether you want to invest. You do have 14 days though.

Not sure if anyone else is facing this issue but under achievements, we don't earn any points for the "Make Sushi!" achievement when we create the Dragon Roll or the Spider Roll. I do believe it is sushi :D

Won't unlock the ginger tea because it's a waste of money for me since I never have enough ginger to make the recipes I already have open. I think this is going to be the ingredient I'm going to be struggling with for this event

You can keep 2 new recipes if you finish both events. The new recipes are the prizes the other recipes that we can't keep are just for the event ;)

I'm exactually the same :( I have 7 plots and lucky if mi gets 1 ginger in 5 harvests, am forever trashing basil and garlic as I seem to have copious amounts.

It's really unfair. I play this game all day an dont see any update until nearly 22.00 (I'm in Norway), then come Oh boy pop up, then I start to do this quest, after that 40 mins, then second quest Sushi comes. An then at 23.34 , they show 13 days instead of 14 days, how unfair???? Give back for me my time... ID is 813vv.

After three full harvests and a couple of visits from the herb lady and Kyoko, still NO ginger. Now waiting for all 7 plots in this round to harvest so I can trash everything and replant in hopes for some ginger.

Expanding the pantry is always a priority to me. Every time you open a new market or upgrade for more items you need the pantry space, otherwise you'll keep getting stuck. I focus on upgrading pantry until the point I'm not regularly pressed for space then I'll focus on upgrading the different stores for more items. Then when I start becoming regularly stuck for pantry space, I go back to upgrading the pantry. Rinse, repeat. Currently I have 125 pantry space and 4 items per store (. With the exception of the fruit stand that I just built) with all stores that are available to me built and finding myself running out of room again, so will go back to focusing on the pantry again. It's a vicious circle, lol

Eta: do you have the spice maker? If you do then use your vanilla and ginger to make spice for more money and making mastery of items during events easier.

You may have had four ginger but I've gotten vanilla I'm not impressed to say the least I can't waste helping hands or gems to speed them up to make room hopefully for ginger chance be a fine thing only to waste the vanilla anyways as I need the sugar for the recipes needed on the quest. Grrrr very frustrated. Everytime the soy sauce is given we should also be given ginger.i have 8 garden plots what are the people that have two suppose to do .....money grabbing comes to mind again buy gems or the ginger offer is the only way these Lower level players could complete this if vanilla is growing more then ginger

No. You can usually tell because recipes that are going to disappear have special "event-only" ingredients, like the eel sauce and wasabi paste. Kyook is going to stop coming after the event ends, so you wouldn't be able to make any of the extra recipes anyway. You'll keep the "yellow stars" from the recipes and the plaque that goes on your wall, but that's it.

You *will*, however, keep the 2 recipes at the ends of the quest lines, in this case Beef Ramen and California Roll. Those don't require an special ingredients and will be permanent additions, but you have to unlock them first!

Well, your comments help to explain a lot. I, too, am a level 49 player with 9 plots. Currently in my inventory I have 12 vanilla with rarely used 31 crab, 28 shrimp and 28 sushi rice. I have no ginger in my inventory and it rarely grows in my regularly cultivated plots. I haven't been able to make any dragon or spider rolls all day. :(

I would love some much needed ginger from Kyoko, or I fear I will never complete the goals. Please change it so she donates to us 49ers as well!

EDIT: I have 4 new time-consuming eight-hour vanillas growing and still no ginger in sight. The silver lining in all of this is that I now have *49* wasabi roots lined up if a ginger should ever appear! ;)

OK it available.... Just can't complete it... I'm level 20 got the goals to do. Finally got 2 ginger today but won't get wasabi stuff or sea food ... Even if i make level 25 in this event wont have enough nails or boards to fix it up since he rarely gives me good things like this isn't fun unless your level 27 n up....

I don't think I would have a problem if I started with no ginger, although I wouldn't be as far along as I am now. While it would have been nice for Kyoto to drop ginger for me, I don't mind that the advantage went only to the lower level players as they don't have the resources Level 49s have for the event.

I dont have much problem with ginger, but lack of sugar a lot ;( wait for so long to collect them. I save all sugars for quest, but still not enough when I jst get 3 evertime collect.
Kyoko jst gave me 3-4 wasabi everytime she visited, so I always have more ginger than wasabi. Now I have 51 soya but jst have 2 wasabi. An no sugar for soya so anyway, always take years for me to make one thing :-)

My advise is to save some sugar for mastery spice. Beef teriyaki requires 2 ell sauces which is 4 sugars each. With mastery spice you spend total 6 sugars for two serving (4 for beef dish and 2 for spice) rather than full 8 sugars. Also it is a way to relieve vanila load.

Sugar is more problematic than ginger for me now.

personally i have yet to see one ginger today and yesterday i got one all day and i have been playing almost every hour at least from around 10am to midnight since festival started.. I still need 20 gingers (if using a mastery spice each time i make a dish) and that is after buying the $1.99 for 5 ginger package deal twice (i rarely buy deals, i don't believe in buying them to complete goals that should be doable when one is constantly playing game all day so am kinda irritated that i bought deal twice).

Now I really don't mind events being hard to complete but, this event that could of been great has turned into a luck of the draw one and that is not my kind of game so i am officially quiting game if i do not unlock the sushi recipe reward due to the lack of a random ginger root, especially when us level 49ers are not worthy of getting them from the kyoko person like everyone else is!!

am only getting mostly garlic with some occasional basil from spice lady too.. at this ginger rate, the only way some of us may find out if that reward recipe is good or not is by reading about it here but, than again the kyoko lady shockingly just gave me my first ginger of the day at 11pm so there may be hope after-all! looks like they are letting everyone get ginger from her now..

I'm awfully short on ginger at the moment and can't seem to be able to plant more then a few a day in the garden. Yesterday I had 7 plots at one point 5 of those had vanilla on them :mad: thats 5 plots out of commission for 8 hours!. Today I have 8 plots and currently I have 3 plots stuffed with vanilla. Now you could say use the vanilla for the mastery spice. However mastery spice needs sugar and all my sugar goes towards eel sauce just like any other challenge of these types you always need loads of sugar and mastery spice needing 2 sugars is really not helpful.

I have 23 wasabi root saved up but no way to make the paste without ginger. I haven't been using a single ginger for any other recipe. All the ginger I had is going to the wasabi paste. I am only on step 5/7 of the sushi sense challenge.

So unless my restaurant hits a ginger jackpot I don't see where the amount of ginger should be coming from that I still need for this event.

But Cid has been dropping an odd amount of hammers for me lately so I may be able to upgrade my butcher shop to gain five ingredients at once. Yes that is very true! However the beef teriyaki isn't really the problem for me. I have been using my mastery spice stock on the beef teriyaki however I burnt that supply as well. I only need 4 more cooks to finish beef teriyaki completely. I still need to do the chicken one but that only requires 1 eel sauce. Hopefully I'll be able to make some more mastery spice when teriyaki is done.

For me ginger is by far the biggest issue as those recipes require more cooks for mastery as well. I can many make 3 ish spider rolls a day or that other dish. And at that rate I can't complete it.

Beef teriyaki needs 2 eel sauce = 4 sugar
Mastery spice needs 2 sugar
2 beef teriyaki without mastery spice = 8 sugar
1 beef teriyaki with mastery spice = 6 sugar

So it's more economical to master beef teriyaki using mastery spice.

I've been doing the chicken dish first while scraping sugars here and there to make mastery spice so I can finish the teriyaki. It was so nice to reach level 24 and finally got vanilla available!
For me it's much easier to tap on Kyoto once per hour and get sauce, and then using sugar make eel sauce. At least I know when I need to go to the game and make it. With rolls I don't know how much ginger I will get and, therefore, it is more efficient to use mastery spice for rolls instead of teriyaki.
Plus I don't have much vanilla for mastery spice so I really can't make a lot of them. I would if I could though haha since I don't really have much shortage on sugar!

Just received my first ginger from Kyoko!! But I still have vanilla tying up 4 spots in my garden atm lol. No worries as we still have 10 days to complete. I wish some of these events weren't so long though.

California Roll is a good recipe, with a good return, not so much Beef Ramen. We have a -lot- of time to complete this event.

The drop rate of ginger & vanilla has definitely increased in my garden. I'm also lucky that many of my regular recipes, have just reached or are approaching 2 star mastery, so I'm earning quite a bit of mastery spice, also.

The commercial range task set is easier, I managed to time it so I was cooking Gyoza for both task sets to get to mastery 2, then cooking Beef Teriyaki for both task sets, thank you for the advance notice of all the goals!!!!

I dont have a high enough level for the rolls part of the challenge, I only have the beef ramen recipe event. I can't anticipate what higher level players need but I just thought to break it down like that for other lower level players that might not have realized or who just got to level 24 like me! Just finished mastery of the chicken dish, I'm on 2/12 teriyaki, 4 mastery spice are waiting for action so I'll definitely fininsh this part on time!

Normally I'm complaining about events or having some kind of trouble with it (food disappearing or not selling or struggling with capacity/quantity etc) but this event has been very enjoyable. I learnt lessons from the cruise ship event (can't remember the theme) but it was a nightmare and my first event. I ended up buying gems towards the end just to find out some people were given 5sec refreshes I was really upset. So the past few events I did as much as I could and missed out on the final prizes. Since then I upgraded my food storages and also all the stores to hold 3 ingredients (not much but really helps) so that's made this event much better.

Don't get me wrong in the beginning I had to do a couple of the dishes twice because they disappeared (broken record, that really needs seeing to by storm8). After that it's been smooth, Kyoko dropped ginger, I grew ginger, as soon as I immediately make wasabi. I agree with everyone else that vanilla is growing on over**** mode! Didn't realise till I checked my pantry and I had already collected 10!!!

I have decided to stop making the eel sauce and make as much mastery spice as possible that way saving the sugar, which by the way is suddenly scarce in the market (no surprises there, so obvious storm8). That will hopefully cut down the amount of times cooking the recipes to mastery level.

I think I had a shortage of beef in the market, but not sugar, sugar was plenty.
I did prefer to use the mastery spice for the rolls instead of for the teriyaki. Ginger isn't predictable, sugar is.

I'm still seeing very little gingers being dropped :( hoping to quickly complete the gyoza and teriyaki challenge so I can finally use the sugar cubes to make more mastery spice (since I've been getting an influx of vanilla recently).

After a ginger drought I can say that I had a good ginger day today. Kyoto dropped some and I was able to grow a bit in my garden and currently have 4 plots of ginger waiting for me :cool: Since I finished the Bon festival part of the event today I no longer need sugar for eel sauce and can finally burn my sugar on mastery spice. With the help of mastery spice it will be a bit easier.

I know these games often use a variation of a standard dish, but the only California Roll I've eaten includes crab, cucumber and avocado. I've never seen it made with salmon.

It would have been nice if the crab and shrimp could stay in the market so a more accurate California Roll could be made. And then later add more dishes with crab and/or shrimp. I've already mastered all recipes with seafood shop ingredients except for these new ones, so more seafood shop recipes would be appreciated.

You need to serve beef teriyaki 5 times. Mastery spice won't help here. Mastery spice is good for when you need to master a level, as it will give you an extra mastery star but it won't increase what is served.

Ive gotten some from her too. Level 49, with 8 plots and shes giving me some about four times now. Not a lot, but its something. Im on the 2nd level of those california and dragon rolls. And I just need to cook the beef dish six more times and Ill be done with that portion.

The reason im so far along is because I skipped a few sections right away, with the 60 gems I had laying around. I didnt know Kyoko would come around so often otherwise I may have finished towards the end without the gems. BUT seeing as to how sugar is a hassle and I needed some for the mastery spice, Im happy I got as ahead as I did. I can focus on other things and be assured ill finish in time.

Other than the easter egg one, where they gave us a huge boost, this will be the first time ive been able and have wanted to put in the work to finish a cooking goal. I tried with the st. patricks one but couldnt get done in time. Now THAT one annoyed me, because I was so close. Im excited about the recipes too. Im tired of making the same stuff over and over again.

So weird, I have been experiencing the complete opposite to everyone else regarding spices. I haven't had a single vanilla this whole quest. All I've been getting is ginger, so I have a huge amount of wasabi and it hasn't been an issue at all to me! Weird! Can I have some of your vanilla so I can make some mastery spice? Lol

Thank you for the first post. I completed the quests and had no idea what the prize was as the Reward screen showed no image or info. I searched all the storage area but nothing. This one was not stressful. I was able to complete it without disrupting my schedule.

My ginger was sparse too. I have enough garlic to protect a whole continent from vampires. I had to delete some as my pantry was full and there were no recipes I could make.

On Android: the recipes for Gyoza and Beef Teriyaki are still available when you click on Commercial range. But there is no option to cook Eel sauce or Wasabi paste on diner stove.
