View Full Version : Gems for new ovens NOT GONNA HAPPEN

I refuse to buy new ovens with gems. Does anyone else feel this way? When I buy gems I use them decorating my Bakery with Items I want. Forcing us to use gems for ovens and to complete goals is wrong.

The only only ovens I am willing to buy with gems is the expired ones

I have bought the gem appliances in both bs and rs. Like decorations, there are gem and coin appliances. I'm not forced to buy the gem appliances any more than I'm forced to buy gem decorations. It's my choice to buy or not buy. Of course I would rather they be for coins, but it doesn't appear that's going to change. If they started increasing the price, I think I may stop buying them, but 5 gems isn't that bad.

One of the nice things about the new gem appliances is you don't need parts. I have not bought any expired appliances, since I mastered the recipes on them before they expired. But those take parts, and if they are they more expensive than 5 gems, I don't understand why would they be okay to buy with gems and the new ones not.

I do not like that they require gems to complete goals, but I did them anyways. If they have to have gem goals, I would like it if there were two paths in the goals, one for coins only that gives both appliances and all the recipes at the least, and one that requires some gems and gives awesome decorations that people would be willing to spend gems on. Both paths would be optional, and not dependent on each other.

Then don't buy them. You're not being forced to buy them, and you're not being forced to do gem goals. You're not being forced to do anything actually.

I'd rather spend gems on ovens than most of the stuff in boxes.

They could at least make the gem ovens single-click, like the easy appliances.

I agree w you 100%!! No way! I'll quit playing if I can't build anymore goal ovens w/o gems. Way too many problems with Storm8 in general too. Many unhappy players are quitting. The updates are terrible and only screw up other things.

Don't buy the ovens if you don't want too. Are you really expecting teamlava to give us EVERYTHING for coins? No one is forcing you to buy anything for gems....

I see in the reviews other people talking about the mess they made of the game with that horrible update, but it doesn't seem to be mentioned here!? The gift list is unusable, the pop up menus are garbled, and the goals are demanding we use gems! Such a shame!

You haven't been reading the right threads then. Trust me, plenty of ios players pointed out problems with that update, and plenty of players (though not all) have complained about goals & ovens requiring gems.

I can totally relate where you're coming from but you don't have to purchase them if you don't want too and mastering recipes would take a lot of time esp if you bought 1 gem oven.

Ummm what? They did just try to force us to buy gem decorations to complete the monthly goal that has forever in this history of Bakery Story been coins only so we could ALL complete the goals. I'm not sure we're playing the same game here??

You are wrong... There was one goal back in 2013 that requires a purchase of a gem item.

You wasn't being forced to buy the goal decoration, you could of skipped the part for 5 gems.

If the goal prize was actually, ya know, good looking, I would totes complete it heck, even with gems. But it's not worth imo.

I have bought only one colonial oven. We can earn 2 gems when recipe reach Bar 2. earn another 2 gems when recipe reach Bar 4. total 3 recipes in colonial oven can earn 12 gems. If buy 2 or 3 colonial ovens, we also earn 12 gems only.

We weren't forced to buy the gem decorations. We were given the choice of buying the gem decorations to continue, skipping the goal with gems to continue, or stop doing the goals and not complete them. The world isn't going to come to an end if I don't get an appliance, recipe, or decoration.

They have had gem goals in the past. There was one in the last couple of years to buy a trumpet player for gems. There was one in 2012 for the Olympic goals, and when they first released goals in bakery, restaurant 1 and farm 1, they all required gems. I don't recall the details of the Olympic goals and the first goals, as they were for iOS only and Android didn't even have the option to do them. So having had to sit back while my neighbors and the forum members did goals that I wasn't able to participate in, its nice to have the option to choose between spending gems or not.

I really would like them to be all for coins, but in life change happens. I might not agree with the changes to the game, but I have a choice whether to continue with the goals for gems, skip the rest of the goals, or stop playing the game altogether. Its no big deal; its just a game. For me the game is a stress reliever, not a stressor. There are other games for me to play if I quit, and history shows Storm8 couldn't care less if I or anyone else (paying or non-paying) was unhappy with the changes enough to quit, as there will always be others who will download the game and play it, and many of those players will buy gems.

Thanks for this post. You and I appear to be one of the few players who think the same way and agree with a lot of the stuff that's happening here.

Totally agree! I was hoping the gem ovens didn't require all that tapping as an added incentive! Ah well.

I bought 1 oven from last week's update. I'll be 100 years old before I get my 7 gem profit out of 1 oven.

I agree with you. Especially goals since they are a main part of this advertised as "free app with optional premium content". I have no problem buying gems for optional items I want to buy. I have a problem having to spend my money on items I don't want in order to be able to complete a basic part of the game (aka cooking and goals).
