How do you put smileys and other images on wall and names?

I downloaded emoji and i added the keyboard to my ipod. It works in emails and others but on restaurant story walls it doesn't work at all. Can someone tell me how i can make it work like everyone else putting smileys on people's walls?

When your keyboard comes up, the second from the left on the bottom should be a little globe button. If its not there, double check the setting, though I'm not sure exactly what you would have to change on them.
