The Yellow Star at the top of the screen stands for Recipe Mastery Stars. You can earn yellow stars by spicing your dishes using the Mastery Spice (http://forum.storm8.com/showthread.php?79356-Mastery-Spice/page2) and Confetti Spice (http://forum.storm8.com/showthread.php?81827-The-Spring-Fling-Dance!).
