Gems for cobbler?

Ok, so this little symbol showers up tellin me people wanted cobbler...basically, for 3 gem...although that wasn't clear to me until I spent 1... it was supposed to start, bake and serve ... However, it never showed up on my counter to be consumed...what's up???

It did remove the gems, and quickly followed up with more opportunities for me to spend my gems for food items.

Before I would consider using it again, Id like to know where the first one went.

Same problem. I assumed the cobbler would show up on the counter...please help

Spending gems allows you to skip the task, but it does not do the task for you. So by spending gems you did not have to start, complete, and finish a cobbler in order to complete the task, but that also means that you did not make any cobbler.
