If I was you I would try gold again. Followed by Diamond and Air.
Lv 10 Gold has a 45% chance to beat lv 16 Mercury. That's pretty good . And if gold won't beat it first time, I would send him right after healing back into the arena. Diamond is the next best, and several, me included were lucky with Air against Mercury.

Do you have any other green and white dragons that are at least rare? I beat Raven with level 3 Lorekeeper (but Fuzzy didn't work). If you have e.g. Lorekeeper or Pegasus, I'd try that. Or even that level 1 winter rose.

I have the same problem. Tried a few green/white super rare combos but keep losing. Also lost RS, boo and Atlantis. Just need to be patient I guess. Already passed him with no difficulty using RS in my other account.

So happy that you won it. I think from round 25, the level of our dragon doesnt matter anymore. I usually use babies in those rounds an won :) like Mercury, I won in main acc with Air 1 an other acc with Water 1 :D

Dear, level 1 is ok, dont worry to use. If that green-white doesn't help, try other combo: green-blue, green-red... or do you have Chameleon?

Your game connection must have been reset. I have seen this before after clearing a bunch of coins, food, etc. I come back and they are there again. Unless you have a screenshot of the win, I am guessing you are out of luck.

25. Bronzetalon - Tiny 10 M (lost Fire 10, Diamond 10)

I had this same issue in round 23. Beat White Chocolate with epic Hannukah M. Logged in again after an hour and instead of battling mercury in round 24 I had to battle round 23 again. Tried Hannukah again and lost. Then beat it with epic turquoise.

I was then able to beat Mercury with quetzal (6) mB. Still got half n hour for the next round. I hope I've progressed to round 25 because I do not want to deal with Mercury again.

This has also happened to me a few time back then and yes it is very frustrating. The way to avoid this is not to get out of the game immediately after your win. Instead, stay in the game and do something for about a few minutes. Best are action that have the "Processing" screen pop-up (visit neighbor, mining).

Like dragosle said, after winning the battle I stayed in the game by visiting neighbors and healing air dragon. I started using the new May version of DS today, maybe it contributed to repeating the same round after winning it before. Hopefully, this will be my last time to encounter this issue.

Just to sum up those final rounds, as that easily gets lost in the thread and might still be useful for someone. My two most helpfuldragons were:
Level 10 Gold (won 4 rounds in a row, against Infinity, White Chocolate, Mercury and Bronzetalon)
Level 10 Aether (won round 28 against Angel and the final champion round)
I also used level 1 baby Air to defeat Gold (round 29), level 3 Lorekeeper to defeat Raven and level 10 Clockwork to defeat Mermaid (red was good against one of Mermaid's colors and yellow against the other, so I figured a combo of the two with highest rarity I have should do the trick).

I worked on a suggestion given in last tourney and used my new torchlight level 6 though u can try any new one if u have.
I tried my level 3 Torchlight against Bronzetalon, and it looked not bad, but I lost my 11th battle in round 25. I will try my newest dragon that I got today, Ambassador next time. I am fighting the whole day against the same dragon :(

If u feel like it try common dragons too coz sometimes they do the magic trick like basic elements fire, air , water, light etc. Try yellow-green, yellow-red dragons(suggestion by a fellow player in this thread). Have u checked wiki?

Starting to get tired of playing this game. All the glitches I have experienced in the last week alone are SERIOUSLY ridiculous!!!!!!!!! Have lost over 100 gold due to breeding just disappearing! Lost multiple new eggs bc the game skips, freezes and then resets and the egg is then a fail! and NOW during the tournament, twice I have been battling and get through a round, wait for the next one, and the game freezes or skips and I'm back on the same freakin round I just beat! I don't complain when any of this happens the 1st time, but now it's happening over and over again. Just had to go through Diamond (2x), forest, then finally wasted gold/food, to get quetzal to epic to finally beat black diamond, and THEN wait for my next round and go back in, and there is freakin black diamond right there again, and i'm set back to round 21 again! Is anyone else experiencing these issues????

And yes I've tried got out of the game, restarting, reinstalling, clear space on my tablet, etc. etc. to no avail. and support isn't any help.

Yes few of us are facing this and for me its like the usual stuff but gratefully it didn't happen this time. And that egg fail thing never happened

I just visited our island but I don't know many dragons. You can try aether and celestial too coz they are quite good. I don't have either but I have seen ppl winning with them. Also try Jade and soccer and Germany if u have

If your diamond, infinity, soccer, pyramid, or Passion is not working use Metal, champs, or just use baby green, blue, red, and yellow.

I tried all my best dragons, (fire, honeybee, landworm, moonlight, fruitful, forest, hypnotic, lollipop, ruby, many of them for more than once) but all of them are beaten by this black beast. I'm just about to pay the ultimate attack... Do you have any good idea? Thx a lot!!!

I don't know if there is any truth behind this but I've found that sometimes I have to try the same dragon a couple of times. I tried twice with my level 10 Fruitful on this same round. I won the second time by changing up my attack (bbb) but again, not sure if there's any real game logic behind that.

Levels don't matter in higher rounds even level 1 common dragons like water etc can defeat a champ or diamond hybrid. Do try Fuzzy too you never know it can bring Black diamond down

If I have some Super Rare dragons that aren't at max level can they beat a super rare or ultra rare? I guess I am asking if the level of the dragon makes a difference in the match. I have so many lined up to evolve but getting them evolved takes forever and then having enough coins to get them to max level. Thanks in advance for your help.

They are using the "<" sign to show that their dragon won the round. The m and b stand for the magic and bash attacks, and the capital letters indicates if those attacks were "critical hits." The Magic and Bash attacks are the same thing, just different animations, and the only way to win a round is to score a crtitical hit. As for beating specific dragons, Google "dragon story battle calculator" and click on the first link. Dragon level, dragon type, and dragon rarity all affect your chance of winning.

Lost round 20 for the 18th time. I tried Diamond lost. Sped up and used Crusader and lost lol then sped up again and tried baby magic. Still nothing. Waited another hour and tried epic Gold and lost again. If by tomorrow morning I'm still stuck on him I will just ultimate. I wouldn't mind losing this tournament but I'm behind on keys so I need them. I will probably have to buy some gold tomorrow so hopefully there is a sale going on. Sigh. I have never had this much trouble before!

Wow, I think it's time to face the fact that I'm not going to make it. Since Round 15 I've lost 30 dragons, used Ultimate twice and am still only on Round 21 suffering against Black Diamond. I've been reading advice on the forum and using the arena calculator plus a couple of other resources. Tomorrow will be limited play for me as I have some guest coming for a BBQ. I hope everyone else is having better luck this tourney :)

I was stuck on bladewing for a long time too. I finally won with epic Planet mB. Try that if you haven't already. I read posts where people suggested to use purple type dragons. I know another player that won with metal too.

I just had no more patience against Black Diamond in rnd 21, I spent almost a day battling it unsuccwssfully (half of my dragons are waiting to be healed..), I've just made the ultimate hit but it feels bad as there are 8 more rounds back and I totally lost my confidence that I can beat any dragon ever again :(

Naw....don't loose confidence. I go to Wiki for the higher levels and check the battle arena of the wiki dragon story. That shows me which dragons have the highest chance of beating a dragon. If I have one of those higher chance Dragons and loose, I'll heal them and send them back in the arena for another round,
Plus I check on this forum which dragon others had success with. If one player only had success with it, might be a case of good luck. If more have luck with it, it might have a better chance. Same as above. If I have it, send it to fight , heal. Repeat.
And ....if I can't get a break for too long and it really really works on my nerves...I do exactly what you've done. I use ultimate attack and go into next round.

Got finished this tournament by using epic brightsteel to tsunami 20. In this tournament, I only used one ultimate attack to mermaid dragon since I lost so many dragons at that round.

Yes, it certainly does work for me. While I totally admire how some people know what colors do have the best chance, I never paid much attention to that. Probably bc I use the calculator. Add to that that I don't always remember what dragons have what colors. Using the calculator is for me an easy way to see which of my dragons have the best chance.

It also helped me sometimes to decide which dragon I should concentrate on to feed up to epic. Like my steampunk which came regularly up as a high chance one if it had been a higher level and none of my other dragons would do. Sooner or later that coin dropped and I fed the poor thing up to epic.

Good luck with Fantasy Story. Never got really warm with that one, they might have a calculator for it too?

Sorry I thought u meant Angel. I defeated Infinity with Gold but you can try with Diamond too. It doesn't matter if its not epic try it. Also check wiki and try the dragons mentioned there regardless of their chances and level in between the time if ur diamond lost. In this tourney I have learnt that do send our diamond or diamond hybrid again and again coz eventually u can win either with them or the tries in the time they are in healing with other dragons. Switch your type of attack too like if bmb is not working try mbm or BBB or mmm or MBB or bmm. All the best hun

I'm stuck at the Infinity dragon. Wondering if there's much hope for me, as I don't have many very powerful dragons. My diamond is still at level 9 (I kept it there since I think that form is cuter than epic...) and he has failed twice. My lvl10 aether and lvl9 dawntree also failed. I do have a crusader in the evolution temple going to epic and he'll really be my only hope, but I won't have a lot of time left when he gets out and I have several battles to go.

The strongest other dragons I have are a level 10 Aether (my only level 10 super rare), a couple level 9 super rares, and a bunch of common and rare level 10s. From what I've seen in the guides, color won't help against infinity, the best chance against him is another diamond?

For infinity 14 it doesn't make any difference if your diamond is lv 9 or 10. Both levels have a 45% chance. Same goes for crusader. If I was you I would try using diamond soon as its healed. Crossing fingers for you :)

In my previous tourneys I have always left behind. This is my first one to be done 2days before the end. I had trouble with Mercury the most and Bladewing too then 26 !n 27 were easy n then again was stuck with angel but last two rounds were easy sailing. One try with diamond each round.

Hallo to all of you...I'm on my last round and I'v to wait about an half on hour or so...about this tournament , all I have to say ,is that since I'm playing drago story tournament I only needed 3 or 4 dragons ! all the time! These are: QUATZEL 2 of them, GOLD , DIAMOND, and for time to time ANGEL ! This time I used just quatzel and gold the hole 29 rounds.Round 29 went down with only bash from quatzel, raven the same, angel went down with Bm gold and so on. That's my trick for you all. Try gemstone dragons any of them. Birthstone,black pearl, ruby etc. Also do try Gold again.

I just won with Turquoise, as super rare Stone. I tried it because Stone was listed as strong against white and red elements. If you don't have Turquoise you might try a blue/yellow combination.

Finally I got Tsunami! It was the most difficult tournament for me so far, and I have a lot of dragons to heal now, but I'm glad I had to invest only 1 gold in this tournament for a small speeding. I've finished the tournament and Tsunami is in storage until I have a free slot in a habitat (and an unoccupied nest won't hurt either lol). Rounds 22 (Infinity) and 28 (Angel) were buggers with 5 losses in each (although better than many of those type of rounds in my previous tournaments). My only Diamond is an Astromancer I bought a few weeks ago in a value pack, and I only used it in 4 rounds with a 50% win rate. So I'm happy with my results, and it was not a bad tournament overall.

This was the hardest tournament for me. I ended up having to use ultimate on Gold because I had gone through so many dragons multiple times over. The last round was easy like others said though, beat him with level 5 aether.

Some observations I made during this tourney...

Firstly, I used no gold (no ultimate). I have two accounts - one is a level 52 and the other is 93. No diamond dragons on either account. In fact, the lower level account has far fewer epics than the 93. Interestingly, the tourney was infinitely harder for my level 93 account. In fact, I'm stuck on Gold (round 29) on my higher level account with 8 losses so far. Some of the surprisingly common dragons that won on my level 52 account don't work for the same round on the higher level account. It seems like the difficulty of the round is based on your level to some degree. I purposefully noted the more common dragons that won so new players without a large collection of dragons would possibly find the same success as I did on my lower level account. I'm going to try Marshmallow in about an hour and see if that gets me to the final round. Good luck to everyone still playing and thanks to everyone that has contributed!

I won with epic Fire, but I would also suggest trying a level 1 Fire or any level 1 basic color (Forest, Air, Water). Sometimes when you have a tough dragon, using a baby works.

Try basic colors (Fire, Water, Forest, Air), especially level 1s or a Rainbow if you have it. Pink also color splits, so any dragon with pink as its first or only color is worth a shot.

Honestly, since there are several breedable white-blue dragons I don't think it is worth spending gold to win this tournament. If I had gotten stuck that badly, I would have stopped rather than spending gold. It's a beautiful dragon, but its only value is being non-breedable. My opinion, your mileage may vary.

I hope you already won against Bronzetalon. For me it was the worst round, my dragons lost 17 times. Then I took a baby firestorm from the nest just before the battle and it won. I think that any baby dragon might work like this against high level dragon.

I don't think this dragon is worth a lot of gold. It will not be very strong in battles.

Every dragon I have tried, some multiple times have had a 45% chance of winning yet none of them have even come close. I do have gold, but I really shouldn't need it. Haven't been posting my results as I've been out and about. But I needed to come and mention that I just took out Bronzetalon on the first try with a Soulmate 6! Wasn't expecting that at all. Just randomly tried it (on rounds like these I tend to go for young, unbreedable Dragons).

Unless something very surprising happens over the next 9 hours, this is looking like it will be second tournament I've ever finished without any gold spent on ultimates. The other was a similarly worthless Musketeer ;) This success is despite deciding, based on a little experience and calculated statistics, that I wouldn't battle any dragon more than 6 times this time without spending gold to get past it. I'm going into round 30 with three dragons healing - a Quetzal (the second defeated by the round 29 Gold), a Landworm (I successfully sent my Landworm army against round 27 Raven and this is the last casualty), and a social (a round 27 Mermaid casualty). Tsunami looks to be vulnerable to a variety of conventional dragons (non-Champion or Diamond) so I think this one's in the bag!

Anybody have any ideas of what a not-available-by-breeding blue and white dragon is good for?

Tsunami is on the nest after battling all day with raven, it was my only tough opponent, thought I had it to easy finally took him down with 1 dose of magic from my level 9 carousel. Bronzetalion seem to get a lot of people I got this 1st go with 1 bash from my level 10 guardian angel. To bed now for me I am in UK timezone, keep going those who can, good luck 😁

I can't believe for a non-champ tournament this one was so hard! I had 22 loses on round 15 before I used the ultimate. Now I'm on 10 loses on around 25. Every round in between took me at least 2 times as well. In hind sight I shouldn't have waited so long on round 15 before I used the ultimate because it left me with very little time to finish. Plus I was gone for a few hours yesterday on a date night with my husband. I'll give round 25 a few more tries just to see if I can get back 5 gold but other than that I'm ready for this tournament to be over! It was a nightmare lol. Congrats to everyone who won! Hopefully next one goes better for me.

Congrats!! Glad I could help someone out, I agree this was my worst tourney yet too, not only hard opponents but the freezes and glitch issues I experienced were unbelievable, lost a bit of gold but thankfully finished barely in time so at least I got a dragon out of it lol.

Took down the Tsunami with a lv10 Fire with one bash, so happy, used no gold to get through it all.

Took down Raven after numerous attempts with Snowman. After two losses in the next round, I gave in and used gold. Last two went down on first try each with epic Air and lvl8 Magic, respectively. Still need 14 keys though even though I have been battling since the beginning of this offer. Thanks to all that posted tips and wins!

(Lost diamond epic; i have no aether; and used lots of 4-golds starting R23...)

Must be my personal record, using three ultimates and three speedups. Probably not worth it but I was in the mood lol. My other three accounts finished with a day to spare so I can only say my main account had bad luck.
