Still have the same question. Wasn't the game supposed to began automatically today and no time restrictions after that? I began today, did days one and 2 and then got this:

Everyone will get 6 days to complete the event from the time they tap to start. If you do not start by Friday 5/15, the event will automatically start for you.

Everyone will have restrictions. If skip to start a new day with gems, you will still have a restriction and have to wait for the new day.

But why wait more than a day? Sorry but this is new for me. I never began a challenge late. I was released from the hospital today and did the second day thinking to buy some time for the day I 'll have to go back to the Dr. I understand 24 hours but not 36, it feels like a penalty.
