Yeah... I might play just to see how I do, but I'm not having any expectations of winning. This isn't an animal that I would spend gems to win. I don't really like it very much.

Round 1 - 1 try

If it follows the pattern of the most recent two flash tournaments, I'll win the first 4 rounds easily, lose a couple times each on rounds 5-8, then get stuck on round 9 or so for 10+ tries, thus causing me to be unable to complete the tournament without significant gems. Boy I can't wait for this....

Previous tournament threads are a good source of info. I also have index cards for each animal listing what I beat them with....yes I occasionally have too much free time....but it was easier to look up specific animals this way.

Would anyone have any idea why I can't play in the tournament. I have logout restarted my IPad even did a reset on my IPad nothing works. When I go into the battle ground and click on the battle for 1250 it just sits there and does nothing. I hate this....any suggestions? I am level 33 and have played in other battles before with no problems I really don't like losing out on not getting all the animals that I can without having to pay gems for.

I am so close. I sailed through until the very end. I have thrown my big ***s at this hound and he won't budge! Seven losses on him alone and not a break. Every try is with Epic forms. Three with my Epic Emerald Dragon. In theory I should have been asleep hours ago, especially since I have been speeding at the end here with this hound.

Add: This is all it took. Came here, let off steam, went back and took him down on the first swing with Emerald's forth try. This was surprisingly easy right until the end. Glad he is safe in my storage :D

That happens to me all the time! I come here to moan like the grumpiest person on earth, try again, and the thing I was trying to get is mine straightaway. Happens with every single game, whether it's breeding, collecting, battling etc. I feel so embarrassed that I had a huge moan over nothing, but if it works, you'll see me here complaining every minute!!! Congrats on your new pet dog! :p

They really should give the reward when you got the animal in storage ! Reward is impossible to get if you don't finish fast or if your nest is busy :mad:

Yup it's not reasonable to think we could win and hatch in 1,5 day. I'm in round 8 though. I just completed the battleground and I can't breed the cosmic critter part 3.....I got a whole army of rainguins and some lemurcury things. New super rare animal now and the event. I really don't have my hopes up that I'll win the tournament - even after going 10-2 and only having 2 more rounds to go. I could easily, easily be stuck on round 11 for the next 12 hours and lose out unless I spend gems. That's kind of what I expect to happen... I'll be pleasantly surprised if I can actually beat this tournament and be done with it before going out for the evening. I really hope so. It will be pretty sad if I can't win the tournament after going 10-2 and starting round 11 before noon... and yet, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

I am in shock,having just won this with plenty of time to spare. Lost only one battle in the first ten rounds and then 2 losses on unicorn and 3 on ground hound. I did use gems to speed,to keep apace (euro player here), as fully anticipated being stuck on the later rounds (as happened with Toronado and that evil money badger - didn't win that tourney!) and was not willing to sacrifice sleep for it,ha! My 12 round tournaments usually end up with around 20-30 loses (so add on the 12 wins needed and it's often physically impossible to finish in 36 hours without gems), so just 6 loses is crazy!! :D

My level 15 nightmare beats the crystal unicorn every time. it's rare when he does not take it out on the first time. Nightmare is definately my go to animal when I'm up against that unicorn. I hope that helps someone who may not have tried Nightmare. Good Luck to all still trying.

Thanks for chart. Got thru first 6 with only 2 losses but stuck on Badger for hours. Our side of world doesn't get the full time allowance so unless u have no other life almost impossible to get thru short tournaments these days. Hate to think how difficult it must be for new players who haven't had time to breed ultras. If Badger beats me one more time I'm giving up. I need a NEW game. Please suggest some.

The Ruby Razorback was my nemesis this time. Strange cuz I usually don't have too much trouble with him. 5 losses before my newly leveled up Steamtrunk got him down.

My Level 15 Nightmare has lost 6 times to the Unicorn and counting. Normally it does pretty well but this is the first time the Unicorn was at level 20.

I lost 9 times to a level 18 Crystal Unicorn in the Childebeest tournament but that was a 30 round tournament, so it wasn't as bad. Just to change things up, I may switch to a level 15 Rumblebee for the next battle against the Crystal Unicorn. I have a little over a 1/2 hour to decide and 8 more free tries to get by the last two rounds, if I time things right.

It happened with me in previous tournaments when i'm stuck on Unicorn and non of the the dark animals i have was able to take him down, I was able to beat him with my Epic Unicorn . You may want to try this. I hope it will work with you.

I'm with you on this, I hate to use an ultimate hit, but if the ground hound was offered for 30 gems I'd buy it. Going for one more try against unicorn then I will decide.

This game is so strange. Try using another dark/fire hybrid if you are still stuck on the unicorn. I'm shaking my head here as I've seen your results. I got past the unicorn with my onyx ox. Good luck

Finally took down the Ground Hound on the 7th try. Needed 22 gems to speed up various battles to do it, but at least I managed to avoid the Ultimate Attack. Final record 12-24 with 17 losses coming in the last two rounds. Glad that is over with. Time for some sleep.

I got to the sapphire but after 5 losses it was totally useless to go on.
The fact that they continue to make 36 hr tourneys despite the obvious time difference issue is baffling imho.

I got stuck on the sapphire all day yesterday and boyfriend got stuck on unicorn. No ground hound for our household. Congrats to everyone who did win one :)

I ended up 'buying' the win on my main account; spent a total of 64 gems (4 to 'battle now' by accident, and then two 30-gem ultimate attacks to finally be done with this). I figured if the animal was on sale for 100 gems I'd buy it, so this is why I went with the ultimates to finish.

So my results:
Account 1: 12 wins / 17 loses (my worst flash-tourney to date & spent gems to finish)
Account 2: 12 wins / 8 loses (my BEST flash-tourney to date, no gems spent)

Easiest flash tournament ever for me. I believe this is the first one ever that I've won without spending gems. I must be one of the lucky chosen few that were allowed to win this tournament without gems.... My fighters haven't changed any, so it can't be anything other than luck why normally my record is 11-25 or so (with me having to do at least one ultimate hit), and this tournament all of a sudden I win with practically no losses. I wish all tournaments were like this. That would make the game fun again. But I'll probably get stuck with even worse luck next time since this one went so well.

Final record was 12-8. Worst round was the Ground Hound with 4 losses.
