Was the mardi claw a limited release animal?

I thought it was a limited animal, so how has a breed combo of a terrier and golden lion produced what looks like a mardi claw egg??

Mardi Claw had a limited goal, but the animal was not limited. It is still available in the market.

Thank you for your reply x I was lucky to breed it straight away when it was released so it had never shown up in the market area hence my confusion .
