There is a new App for RS 2 in the iTunes Store - version 1.7. I've been maintaining my game for my son, who plays at night and I assist during the day while he's at school (sometimes), and I saw this and figured I'd post for those that may not be checking their game very often due to the recent changes.

4/13/2015 - Hello everyone! The team has listened to your feedback and we've made the following changes for the event!


Cook time for the Mysterious Eggs have gone from 3 Hours to 1.5 Hours.
3 of each Flower needed for cooking has been reduced to 2.
For each 10 Eggs needed, it has been reduced to 5.

TIPS - Use at your own discretion!!!

Tip 1 - Once you have enough flowers you can LEARN Mysterious Eggs before you get the Goal to do so. HOWEVER, do not remove it from the appliance until AFTER you receive the goal in order to get credit!!!!

Tip 2 - You're receiving 5 Quick Serves as you complete each goal. Save these to use to speed up the cooking of the recipe so you can make it quickly to that last goal - Step 5. You may also want to make sure you have the necessary Flowers in your supplies to re-cook the meal before using your Quick Serve. It will take quite a bit to time to get all those Eggs, and considering the watering pot decides what gets planted, you'll want to get started on this part of the goal as quickly as possible!!!!

Since TL hasn't designated an actual update date for this game yet, we don't know. The information I posted in the first post came directly from the description given in iTunes, and it just said "starting soon" with no actual day/date listed. You'll just have to keep checking the game to see if the new goals have been pushed through.

I saw this last night. I hope this isn't some hopeless event where we have to wait for some geek to appear and play until the last moment for the goal prize. This sounds fun. I'll see if my extra appliances do me any good.

I think this may be like the train orders on farm perhaps. Give 20 cucumbers....12 pieces of butter..500 lobsters! Ok I'm exaggerating but you get my drift. I wonder what the dancer will give if we unlock her in the end. We shall see.

Well maybe I'll get lucky and one of the first requests will be to give it basil - I have 24 of them with 3 more growing, 0 garlic (though there are 3 growing), 0 vanilla, and only 1 ginger. Nice balancing act there, TL. :rolleyes:

My son keeps asking me why we have so much basil and I tell him the truth - that is all Lilly drops us, that is what keeps growing from the watering pot in the garden, and the few recipes we can use it in, we don't have the other ingredients to make it (garlic/ginger for spices) or we use our limited potatoes for dishes other than Pesto lately. *shrugs*

How much space do you have to hold so many? I go nuts if I have more than 6 basil and I toss them immediately. I just upgraded my shelf to 130. Hadnt ever paid much attention to it until this morning. When I realised I have the parts needed for it, more than I would have anytime soon for expansions.

Same as you, fully maxxed on the pantry at 130. But I only keep a few items with high numbers (4-10) due to refresh time (mayo, butter, onions, lobster, mushrooms)....the rest I just get as needed to cook, so the pantry is usually never above 100 now. Since I don't use the street market, if I can't make it, I don't bother holding it - with exception of 1 or 2 of something so that the item can start the refresh process again.

I do hope that whatever goals that get released with this event aren't so outrageous that the lack of street market won't make them impossible. There is NO WAY that I'll allow him to purchase anything from the Street Market and I told him not to even bother clicking on it in fear he'd mistakenly purchase something, like he did with the additional stove. If he was going to buy another stove for gems, couldn't he have accidently clicked on the chateau stove???? :rolleyes:

No, they are growing like the rest of yours are. When you first place them, they show up, but then they disappear and it just looks like an empty plot, until they're ready to harvest, then it still looks empty but the flower is floating above the plot. It's annoying but at least I know I always fill all my plots so now I just figure the empty ones are the new flowers. LOL!!!

Yeah, good for that considering many of us have so few plots. When I update the first post with the next goal, I'm going to post about the two flowers and that they're found in a separate tab in our pantries. :)

Did you already do the step of collecting the 5 of each flower? If so, you can post the next goal and I'll save it and upload it to my photobucket then attach it to the first post. I may not get to that one for a bit, have vanilla and ginger now growing with only 6 slots available. :(

Just got tulips winderful im tired of seeing vanilla have nine stacked up but at least I have sugar to make spice. You would think with eight plots it would dven out but oh nooooo

I have 8 plots and am growing flowers decently. I used my helping hands to speed things up a little bit and am on level 4. But all I see is the deviled eggs recipe that locked. It said on the game update that there will be something new everyday. I hope so! Otherwise 8 days for one recipe seems over****.

I know what you mean....this event seems more geared towards Easter than a Tropical Cruise Catering Event, so there may be more or maybe this had to be done before that???? We'll have to wait and see and then I can always have Kooky change the Thread Title and have a new Thread started for that Event, if/when it actually happens. What we've had so far doesn't really represent what they wrote in the description of the App in the iTunes Store, does it? LOL!!!

Though I do have to say that it could take some 8 days, and some may not make it at all, with getting the recipe due to the water bucket giving long-term item like Vanilla, or only have a few plots open. Many have been complaining about Lilly not dropping seeds and CID not being around enough, and when he is, he rarely drops shovels. I mean 8 plots is great, but I only had 6 until I noticed I finally had enough shovels to open another plot yesterday, and a lot of people don't even have 4 plots. They will have trouble getting enough flowers to make the dish enough times to get enough of those eggs needed in that last step.

I'm lucky if I see a ginger a day, at this point. Right now I have 1 growing, and it will probably be the only one I'll get today. Ever since they added it to a few more recipes, it has seemed to disappear completely from the game. *sighs*

I was getting a couple each day. Not many but enough for a recipe or 2 if I used them wisely. I just got my first ginger since the update. I can't even make spices with it because then I'd have none for anything else. Making the game harder was one thing but they made it nearly impossible. I've lost literally 1/3 of my neighbors since they changed things. My GOOD neighbors!

My basil and garlic have been cut short, and the long vanillas and gingers keep coming. I only have 5 plots and only two are occupied by flowers. Not even the ones I need either. I have the rest but I'm short of 3 purple crocuses. I need then so I can serve the mysterious egg dish that was ready hours ago :(

I'm starting to notice that (for me) yellow daisy is basically the basil of the flowers we can grow and purple crocus is like the ginger/vanilla. I have so many of one and don't grow as many of the other. While I understand that it's random, I hope it won't get in the way too much for completing this goal.

The purple ones are rare for me too. I had to use the last 8 gems I had to pay for them to get along in the goals. I also noticed vanilla's time has been shortened, which works for me since I now make creme brulee and vanilla shakes. Ginger is super duper rare for me too. I dont think those ginger snaps will ever get learned. Forget anything else. Ive made apple ginger chicken once in about 3 weeks!

I so wish they could perhaps change things up a bit again. I also havent made any spice in a couple days. Im getting too much basil I end up selling and not enough garlic. But im on part four of the goals and I guess that counts for something.

Sorry about that. I also noticed not too long ago I was receiving a message about accepting quick serves as gifts, which was new to me, so maybe they changed something.

Mine did too, except this morning I received some quick serves but got a message that I could not accept them. I used some up, but when I went back, the quick serves from the nbrs were gone.

With only 7 days left, I am not getting many flowers to make eggs. I have 7 plots and rarely get the purple flower. When I do, I only get 2 of them. 3 is needed. Impossible to finish quest that requires 30 eggs.

This is not correct as I have 3 Happy Eggs and I've not used any spicing on them at all. Which spicing are you using and which exact egg do you believe is dropped from only that spicing? Vanilla is only used in Mastery Spice.

Thanks! It must be random than. I was just wondering. I was using my vanilla. I used vanilla spice 5 times and only got the happy eggs. 6th and 7th time I didn't and got pretty eggs. 😂

If there is a pattern by using a certain spice, can someone else please confirm your results so I can update the first post? I've not used any spices and have 3 Happy Eggs.

Also, if anybody has reached the Third Level, can you please let me know how many times you need to cook to master? 1st is 0/5, 2nd is 0/8, but I'm going to be quite a while as I'm not getting any Purple Crocus so can't cook the dish right now. I'm on 2nd level - 1/8, so.....

I did check on this, and spicing the eggs won't affect the odds of which egg you will receive. It will still give you the regular coin bonus though. :)

The Friendly eggs were for Step 4. I doubt they'll have any further use unless another set of goals opens up once we pass Step 5 - getting the Deviled Eggs recipe.

This whole goal chain doesn't seem to have anything to do with what they stated the App update was going to be about, so who knows what will come next? Where is the Cruise Catering Event? Where is Luana? Where is the Spring Decor?

This particular update looks like it is a week late and should've been released last week BEFORE Easter, not after. :rolleyes:

My son keeps asking me why we have so much basil and I tell him the truth - that is all Lilly drops us, that is what keeps growing from the watering pot in the garden, and the few recipes we can use it in, we don't have the other ingredients to make it (garlic/ginger for spices) or we use our limited potatoes for dishes other than Pesto lately. *shrugs*

TL wants you to spend real money to get more plots, hence why they offered the 4.99 package deal of shovels/seeds, which expires soon. On top of that they want you to spend gems to speed up the dishes, and/or the plots so you can replant the same vanilla, ginger, basil, garlic over and over again.

I may just be able to make it, but it will be tight and I'm very dependent on what the water can tosses out. I have no quick serves left and I think I may have already received 20 gifts today, so it isn't likely I'm going to get more or even enough to bother using it for any of today's cookings. :(

The parameters change and make the goal not impossible when :
1. you spend gems to get more plots and so increase your chances of getting the right flower to allow you to cook eggs
2. you spend gems to speed up the cooking time of the eggs and so increase your chances of getting all the eggs
3. you spend gems to collect all the outstanding eggs needed to complete the goal in time
4. you spend gems.

I'm glad that you posted this. I also did the math earlier and it does seem really difficult to be able to complete it within the timeframe without gems. Using quick serves will only help so much as it takes 10 to save 3 hours.

I wonder if the eggs were meant to take three hours to cook, which was the amount of time they took to learn. Usually once you learn a recipe, it takes a shorter amount of time to cook it.

If there is an advantage it would only be because those people have friends that also are on facebook, and if that's the case, they'd be neighbors in the game as well. I honestly don't see linking the game up to a facebook as any advantage if none of your friends/family play the game. It isn't like they can send you a gift if they don't play, and if they did, they could just send it via the normal neighbor gifting. There's no way to determine which gift they can send, as just like Farm 2, it's a blind gifting with us having no options to choose from. *shrugs*

I didn't connect my game to facebook and I still got a quick serve every now and again, just not as frequently as I had been when they made those gifting changes. All of us use to be able to send quick serves or random gift box - now only facebook users can send quick serves!?
Non facebook users are only left with the random gift box gift.

Until someone gets passed this last goal and posts the Deviled Egg information, we won't know if it was all worth it or not. All we know right now is the ingredients for cooking Deviled Eggs, but not the Income, XP, Timing.....That we have to wait until someone actually unlocks it/learns it.

Seems the issue us different for everyone, I have all my eggs except fir four stinky eggs left yo get. I have pkenty of glowers and also wish I could turn them if ad I was actually dhort on garlic at one point. I now have ten and scared to delete it. Feast or famine! Finally starting to be able to do all my spice and my recipes, I guess having eight plots does help. Wish I could unlock the ninth and dump all these shovels that jeep piling up. It seems when you don't need them they appear.

I could not agree with you more! I have a total of 363 flowers in storage....yet, I don't have any basil, ginger or vanilla!! I think it's really important for these challenges to not completely disrupt other regular functions of game play. It's great that the flowers are stored in their own limitless pantry, but it's really frustrating to have 8 plots exclusively producing flowers for the duration of the event. Since the garden is completely weighted towards flowers, it would have been great for you to throw us a bone by having Lily visit more often....and maybe having her drop multiple herbs with each visit. Fun must outweigh frustration for a game to be worth playing!

Am confused about the title of this thread as I don't see anything about a tropical cruise. Why isn't this called the Easter egg event? Since the end prize seems to be an egg recipe, not unlocking a cruise. I'm hoping I've missed something because I really want to unlock something other than just a recipe after this.

I'm going to ask Kooky to change the title of the thread, as I mentioned this many pages ago as well. I made the thread title and the first post based off of what TL stated in the iTunes Store for the App Update, not knowing that they were going to release a late version of an Easter Update instead. *shrugs*

It COULD and it SHOULD, but it probably WON'T. They want you to spend gems to skip the eggs you don't receive right before the event ends, IMO. I'm in the same boat and have pretty much resigned myself to the fate of not fulfilling this goal due to their atrocious drop rate.

I have plenty of flowers: 66 Purple Crocuses, 58 Yellow Daisies and 34 Pink Tulips.
I have 5 basil, 2 vanilla. I also have 4 Garlic, 1 Vanilla, 1 Ginger and 1 Daisy growing. Overall pretty good balance between flowers and herbs.
I have 4 Happy eggs, 9 Pretty eggs and 5 Stinky eggs. There is three more days to go.
One problem I run into is that I run out of counter space. I guess I'm playing too much. I don't like to have stoves go unused.
If I have no room to put mysterious Eggs on the counter, I use serving hands or if I run out of those, gems.

I've already mastered the Mysterious Egg recipe, the Deviled Egg recipe is laughable in it's rewards, and to be quite frank with you, FrozenTurtle, you've given me NO reason to continue trying. You're telling me 'Good Luck' is a slap in the face as it isn't LUCK that I'll get the eggs, it is TL deciding to drop ONLY what I need, not what they want me to have.

The least you could do is not be patronizing in your response. Instead TL decides WHO gets it and who doesn't, no matter how much work and effort we put into it. It is clearly unbalanced but you don't really care, do you?

Same with all the other events TL do... A whole lotta effort from us for pathetic rewards at the end... The two days only means that you have that long to unlock it. Once it unlocks by meeting the goal, you will be able to cook it as much as you want.

So - glad this egg goal was changed for fellow players. I only needed 1 stinky & 1 pretty to finish so the change ended the goal,
unlocking the new egg recipe for me.

Just a suggestion to game designers for future goals like this - once we master it maybe end
the flower planting in garden plots. Unless many other players want to continue making the eggs
that need flowers to cook. ?

I stored the egg stove thingy right away.
For this one player - i would like my garden plots back.

Guess we just wait for the next new download?

I asked Kooky to change it for me as all I can do is change my posts, but not thread titles (even those I start). Since the Cruise Event hasn't started yet, and we're not sure when it will, I figured it best to keep this thread separate from it. If/When it does begin, there will be a new thread dedicated to it.

Sorry for the confusion, it is just TL stated the Update in the App Store was what I originally posted in the first post (bolded), and not anything to do with the update/goals we did end up getting, so there was no way for me to know when I originally started the thread that the information I was providing was going to be inaccurate. :(

You just need to get 5 of each egg to complete the goal now. Check your pantry and if you do indeed have 5 Happy, 5 Pretty, 5 Stinky eggs and the recipe is still locked for you, try force closing then going back in. If it's still locked email support@teamlava and ask them to check your game.

I was happy to be done and was able to store that egg boiler, but I was most happy at the prospect of getting my HERB garden back!! I definitely would have completed this challenge on time, without the help of the decreased goal requirements. While I'm glad that more players will be able to attain the prize, I see where you're coming from here. I do think that my success would have been linked to my time commitment and strategic use of quick serves, and had the goal been easier from the get go, I would not have needed to expend as much of these resources.

Not sure if there's anything they can or will do, but hopefully this will be a learning experience for future goals. I would, however, be very appreciative of having my HERB GARDEN BACK!!!!! I'm done with this challenge, and have no use for more flowers!!!!! Zero!! Zilch!! Nada!!

I am totally sick of the flowers and really want to spend some time on the recipes with garlic, basil, ginger and vanilla rather than the 400+ flowers I have in storage.

This is easily by FAR the worst quest I have ever participated in. It's grossly unfair to base the completion of tasks on chance, or luck. Regular tasks such as this are supposed to be inclusive and should allow all players to participate on a level playing-field. Having random stuff like which egg you're boiling or which colour flower you're growing attributed to them does not give everyone a fair and equal chance of completion.

I appreciate that the the task has suddenly been made easier (after I'd completed about 75% of it) but it should never have been so heavily weighted against players to begin with.

Why not just make everyone collect 100 eggs (or whatever amount) of any variety?

This quest bombed-out completely IMO by managing to be tediously difficult and boring all at once.

I just did the math on the last goal. We have to collect 30 eggs - 10 each of a specific type. For every batch, which takes 3 hours, I get one random egg. I have less than 7 full days left. This means if everything goes perfect I must get 4 eggs each day, along with getting 5 at least 2 of the days. Of course, this assumes I will get an even spread of the required eggs, not 2 of one type for every one I get of the other 2 types. As of now, I can't even cook these eggs every 3 hours because I don't have enough of the right type of flower every time - this despite the fact that I have 7 garden plots. So, just using the math, I don't see 30 of the right eggs coming out of this.

Unless some of the parameters change, this is an impossible goal to meet. Why bother?I'm rubbish at maths but also sussed from day 1 that this quest was nigh on impossible to achieve.

Why do TL suck all the joy out of playing their games by doing things like this to their loyal players?

I agree. I have 7 herb patches and all are mostly filled with flowers and I already completed the task 2 days ago! Surely it can't be difficult to program the task to drop the flower rate once a player completes an event! I have been playing games of all varieties for many years, I have never come across a development team that fail epically on all most everything that they do! Sure I could rage quit the game like many others have, but misery loves company and I've made a number of friends in the game that keeps me from doing so 😋

Games are meant to be challenging. If you just needed one of each egg, and they all dropped at the same time, the event would be over in 5 minutes, and people would then complain that it was too easy. If you don't want to be challenged, then just don't do the goals. I get nervous and frustrated and focused when trying to complete a timed goal, but in its fun to try and complete the task at hand.

I'm amazed TL changed so much about one event! Nobody really complained about the cook time too much and they cut that in half!! I play other TL games like FS2, and those goals are wayyyyyy worse. To get the prize at the end, RS2 goals are a cakewalk in comparison!!! I'll just kick back and applaud TL for making this event easier, so more people could succeed, and remember that games are meant to be challenging. :)

In one of the earlier constructive feedback posts, someone suggested reducing the cook time . I passed this suggestion on.
I was really happy for the reduced cook plus the reduction in the amount of eggs.
I know there was only a few days left when they made the change, but the important thing is that they did, and hopefully will keep this in mind for the next event they do.

There was a whole thread about the cook time being too long, especially combined with needing particular, randomly grown flowers to begin. At one point I had to wait almost 7 hours just to be able to cook an egg because I only had two of one of the types of flowers. I had more than plenty of the other two, just not that one. They had to fix the issue or hardly anyone, without the use of many, many gems (35 per egg) would have completed the quest. My guess is that from a programming standpoint, of all the ways they could have fixed the roadblocks, reducing the cook time and changing it to just mastering the mystery eggs were the easiest to do and most likely to impact the most players. They had to do something, this was a legitimate complaint by the people upset by their ability to reach this goal.

I've already wasted gems and since they changed the way we gift friends I haven't been receiving ANY quick Serves so I ran out of those very quickly. I need two pretty eggs. This is so frustrating! But really why should I be surprised ?!

Second - question I got after expiring last goal on time -Do you still want to get reward for 5 gems? i clicked yes - do why is that egg recipe still locked by goal? I've sent Kooky a PM about those of you that paid gems but still have a locked recipe. When she gets on, I'm sure she'll see it and flag the issue over to the CM's for y'all.

The Egg Boiler only had that one recipe, so if you've mastered it, you can just store it....or leave it out as a decoration. Up to you, snowyglowy.

Yep, me too. Just paid and don't have the goal available. The egg boiler can't be used at all. I just stored it. But we should be able to create deviled eggs after paying for goal.

I finished an egg at the exact time it ended and due to the challenge I had no gems or quick serves left. It counted it as me mastering the eggs but didn't give me my last egg to get the deviled eggs. I am really frustrated. I only needed 1 stinky egg and it gave me no egg at all. I really wanted the recipe :(

It was last time I paid gems for stupid offer of flowers which are now for nothing as the egg boiler. Dunno what to think. I vould buy much better things. If I knew this, I would never do it. I feel realy deceived.

Yes, you are correct.... when we pay for something (whether it be via gems or quick serves) and are told it will complete the goal, we should get the reward of that goal. Otherwise, what is the point? Regarding quick serves, the message I received when this came up for me (which was just about 2 hours ago) was that I could pay to complete the goal with 5 quick serves (not gems). Since quick serves are free, developers may not think it's a big deal that our goal didn't unlock, but it's still deceptive. I'm puzzled about everyone's reference to paying actual gems, as the message that popped up for me didn't give me an option to pay in gems versus quick serves.

The message didn't say anything about getting 5 quick serves. Certainly we're not all getting different messages, yet everyone seems to have a different version of what the message said. By nature of "completing the goal," we should get the reward of that goal which was the deviled eggs. That's why people are upset. But I could have sworn the message said that we could PAY 5 QUICK SERVES to complete the goal, not pay 5 gems and not get 5 quick serves. Regardless, we didn't get what we were supposed to.

Interesting. I just want the darn deviled eggs. It's not even showing as an option (locked or unlocked) in the master recipe book. It's just gone. And if they did take gems out of my bank, then it better be fixed because I paid real money for all of my gems. I don't remember how many I had before I clicked that message, so I can't verify if it actually removed gems. I do know the message I saw said it would cost 5 quick serves to complete the goal, so I didn't give it a 2nd thought to spend those.

I feel as if the deviled eggs were just a tease to get us to spend/buy gems/q-serves. The "locked by goal" icon for them has totally disappeared off my game now. I play too many of these games at the moment but I WAS ENJOYING IT - TILL NOW 😢
