If your Barn is full, you can free up some space by selling some items at your Side Shop, or use your items to Craft items at your Buildings.

It looks like you currently have space in your Barn to store more items. You cannot tap on items in your Barn to use them.

You can use the items in your Barn when you go to your Buildings to Craft items. You can also go to your Side Shop, tap on the + icon to sell items from your Barn. When you want to expand (by hitting the Expansion icon), the items in your Barn will be counted towards the total. Whenever you need ingredients or items to Craft, Build and Expand, whatever you have in your Barn will be counted in the total. You just cannot directly tap on the item in the Barn to use it.
