With a little speed breeding, I got this one with a Cosmic 4 and Air 10. :)

Picked it up using Magic and Air.


Yay! Really love this one, so happy I got her! I used Royal and Gold, was hoping for Crownprince or Anubis as fails but no, only 2 Genies and then Rapunzel. I boost instead of speeding.

What I really do hope is that TL don't release another blue/purple dragon. Now that's an overused colour combination! But I agree, this definitely should have been a fairytale type.

I've been trying Royal and Trickster, got two new friends for Royal out of it at least, Crownprince and Jester! Third try I accidentally put Titan in with Royal and have either a Clockwork or Scorpion, which I don't have either, so all in all, three tries with three new dragons isn't too bad for fails! I do badly want this Rapunzel though! I'm going to keep plugging away with Royal and Trickster!!

I can underrstand that frustration, because I got nothing except Mist when Starry Night was out. Wait... I got one patchwork.

It's worth it to keep trying. After all, tRapunzel is a Super Rare. And besides, why would you want Trickster or Peacock as a fail? They would take an entire day to breed and get out of your den! Eight hours is far more reasonable to try again.

Edit: Went ahead and threw Royal x Music into the den, now have a six-hour breeding time <3

5 Genie fails. This is getting seriously frustrating. It's not worth it at all to do the boosted breeding; every time I do (bar 2 times, but that's out of multiples) I get some common fail, so I'll likely just get Genie again. I'll keep trying until the last minute, because she's worth it, but darn, frustration city!

Used Music + Diamond and got Genie, Music, and now a 6 hour breed time. So it must be Rapunzel. How nice, my breeding luck has been awful lately. If I'm on a lucky streak, I'm trying Manticore next with Geode + Diamond.

ETA: combos of a purple-yellow dragon plus Diamond remove Magic, Cosmic, and Royal from the list of possible fails. Plus you get a possible "fail" of a Gold or Anubis dragon.

Um, you are breeding a mist. You can't get Rapunzel with a Diamond and Cosmo, because Cosmo is blue and yellow, and Rapunzel is purple and yellow. You need a dragon that can give purple.

No Rapunzel on either account. I've made 20+ probably almost 30 attempts on this one and nothing. I finally bred a peacock yesterday which I'm happy about. But no Rapunzel. I gave up on my other account and bred 4 new dragons. I guess I don't really care about this one anymore. Congrats to those that got it and good luck to those continuing to try for it.

After an entire week of almost nothing but Genie fails (plus 1 useless Peacock and 1 equally useless Cosmic), I tried a Hail Mary last night. Instead of breeding Magic and Air as I'd done all week, I said, hell with it, and put Peacock in with Air.

Changing Combo - Genie >< Diamond:
First Try: Rapunzel --> Dragon that I tried for 2 years, finally I got one (70 golds, I guess worth it, 1/4 of the real sale price). As I didn't get any other limited dragons instead of this, Past, and Present. Breeding were quite difficult recently.
This phenomenon made me think that what theory actually lied in this. How come Sorceress >< Diamond only resulted in either Genie or Music (90% Genies). This also made me re-think that Sorceress couldn't produce any other dragon other than Genie or Music. In conclusion, IMO, there were only several lucky combo that only can resulted in Rapunzel. Not all Purple-Yellow or Yellow-Purple dragon when combined to Diamond or any Yellow-Purple/Purple-Yellow dragon when combined can resulted in Rapunzel or any other limited dragon.

Wishing everyone who didn't get it this year best of luck when trying to breed it next year... ;)

I obviously haven't bred much yellow & purple... can still try for music and rapunzel.

I got Rapunzel with Genie & Air back when she was first released. :) Of course, now you have lots of new dragons you can try as well. Good luck! I hope you get one. :D

Also, congrats on your Cosmic! I may try your combo to get one :)

Also consider Genie x Diamond (if you have one). There are six possible outcomes, two of which are ultra - rare diamond hybrids, and one less 18 hour fail than Air x Magic (gives the same odds as Yellow-purple hybrid - plus the faintest chance for Gold or Anubis). I do realize that the ultra rare dragons have extraordinarily long breeding times, but if I was lucky enough to get one, I would be over the moon! Not to mention that we are early enough in the Tale that we could catch up. And if all else failed, I would be willing to throw a bit of gold at it.

BTW, my combo worked. 3 Genie, 1 Trickster, and I now have Rapunzel on my nest. WOO HOO! Good luck everyone! :-)

got genie x 2, cosmic (new for me), and royal (just laid the egg on nest)
now i am having a hard time expanding and building habitat for the two new types of dragons i got....
still have >1 day to go to complete expansion >_<

After multiple tries with Genie and Peacock, I ended up with 4 Genies, 2 Peacocks, Cosmic(Peacock&Genie ), and Trickster(Peacock &Air).
Got Rapunzel after two tries with Cosmic and Trickster.

I had similar results to you, MsMelanie. I started off using Magic and Air and ended up getting Repunzel using Cosmic and Royal in 2 tries. I got 4 Genies(finally finished the 3 Genie goal), 2 Peacocks(new to my islands) another Cosmic and I also added 2 Royal dragons which are new for me as I hadn't bred them before. With relatively short breed times and dragons I've never bred before, this was a decent run of attempts. Even though I don't even really want the Repunzel dragon. lol

This is the second time I have been trying for this dragon and I have only breed genies from this. I have air, magic, genie, trickster, sorceress, and music. I have 4 dragons from yellow and purple combos that would be new to me and I only get genie. I added in some red one time for fun and got fire flower, which I needed, but I'm so over purple and yellow. If I don't get a genie for dragon tales I think I'll actually feel a bit happy.

I think some pairings are more predisposed to a certain outcome than others... more than the color combinations suggest. So when I see a bunch of reports of a particular pairing working for a special dragon, I try to duplicate that pairing (and, no, i didn't have the dragon pairs that reported the most success for any of those listed).

I am now on my second Rapunzel since the current Tale began. My breeding pair is Diamond x Genie. I have seen MANY reports of success with these two. I think they are the "magic couple" for the 6 hour breed. Have received Rapunzel on the fifth try, originally, then switched to a different pair to **** time, and back to Diamond x Genie to try for consecutive Genies to earn Dynamite and have a Genie ready to hatch for an upcoming chapter. Received Genie 1st try... then Rapunzel. Good luck!

Thank you for your help, but I tried about 10 times with diamond and genie and only got genie. I think it might be luck more than the combination :)

Rapunzel is the only limited dragon I've bred since October, I think I'm still in shock that she lives on my island. Although I'm still sad I couldn't breed any of the Halloween, Christmas, or New Year dragons.

Been breeding Diamond and Genie, Diamond and Music, Royal and Diamond, and have been unsuccessful with 1 Royal, 1Trickster, and about 6 Genies.

Looking through my dragons, I stumbled upon my (still 7 year old) Chimera Dragon. This is the first time he has gotten the pleasure to visit the breeding den. I guess he thought he'd show out. ;)

Have been trying different combos with no luck, a few minutes ago found this thread, on first page read about someone's success with Cosmic and Air....so I just put those two together to breed....(with boost) and got a 6-hour timer. Looks like I'll have a baby Rapunzel soon - YAY! :)
