The great Danebow is electric-water so any animals with those elements might get you one. It is a super rare. Don't know the time yet.

As for the Land Shark in this tournament, it is second only to the Steamtrunk in "must win it!"-ness. Love, love, love it!

Positive note - got 21 hr breed time on first try with Lightning Leopard & Frost Fang! Great Danebow here I come! Yay!

Oh, & I ended up with a Mardiclaw on the nest trying for a Crystal Unicorn. Yay!

Oh wow this is not cool... I'm really afraid this is going to make it impossible for me to win without spending a good bit of gems. Especially not with two treasure animals which always seem to manage to get me stuck. I think the most the flash tournaments have had before is 2 ultra rares. So what, TL, it wasn't hard enough? :mad: We already have to spend our entire Saturdays fighting every hour, now we can fight ever hour and still need ultimate hits....

Still cheaper than speed breeding and value packs but really, these tournaments didn't need to be any harder and now it's a third ultra rares??

Interesting... I never thought of it like that. Hopefully no one has ever outright bought a flash tournament prize from the shop. I guess the ultimate hit way makes it pretty much the same price as a value pack animal. Though if you can win even a few rounds it gets a bit more reasonable.

2 losses in the first 6 rounds isn't great in a flash tourney. But I'm sure once I start facing all those ultras, starting next round, that record will get much worse. I don't plan to wake up every hour during the night, so I probably have 16 free battles left. That means I must average at least a 37.5% win rate in the second half.

I've just beat treasure toucan with my sloth level 12

I lost to the treasure toucan twice, beat the puffalo first shot (lvl 15 vinotaur for anyone curious, for the nature element) and... have now lost to the ctulhu 5 times in a row. I can sort of see why since my counter to it isn't fully leveled (level 13 rumblebee) but after this I have two more ultras (who are probably even higher-leveled) to go so it isn't looking good.

I am used the toy poodle too. The way I figure it, I can't beat the treasure element animals in terms of rarity, so I might as well use the rare toy poodle with 2 strong elements over a super rare with only 1 strong, since the super is less rare than the ultra too.

You are so right. I am at round 11 now, but speed up about every half hour. Have to finish this evening, since the biggest part of the remaining hours are at night.

So, 10 tries in and I finally beat the Cthulhu. That means I have the crystal unicorn, the golden retriever, and the land shark left. The crystal unicorn is worrying since I don't have the greatest counter for that, either. (Though the game is so luck-based it barely matters - I've seen people use all sorts of wacky or lower-leveled animals to get through things I got stuck on, so...)

WHY must these tournaments be so frustrating!! Here I am, been battling every hour since the tournament started and still on round five. Every time a tournament comes up my park is even more battle ready but yet it is always a struggle.

I know it shouldn't be easy but when you put in countless hours to feed and evolve your animals to level 15 only to lose constantly. I can't help but to feel somewhat *****ed.

To everyone that feels as if they have less of a chance to win without ultra rares. I have them all at level 15 (except cyclops) and they lose plenty.

This is weird but for me the easiest flash tournament for now, I lost only against unicorn two times, third time I beat it with gargolem. Cthullu I won first round with citrine peregrin, toucan with ancient sloth and golden retriver with toucan. And last flash tournament I didn't manage to finish even though there were less ultras to beat and I used same strong animals. Go figure.

Managed to knock of the Crystal Unicorn on the first try with a level 15 Rumblebee. Now I have a bit over 12 hours to get through the final two opponents. Over all record is 10-10, see post #4 for details.

You might get lucky and 1-shot some things like I did with the puffalo/unicorn earlier! (Obviously not the puffalo for you, but you know.)

I agree - there's already so much chance for failing with breeding (which is also completely luck-based) so I look to tournaments to keep me interested in the game and get me something new. Long tournaments are usually do-able before they end (if you keep up with them every hour) but the short tourneys leave so little room for error (especially for our european etc friends who have even less time than we do) that it just feels really unfair how luck-based it is.

I've seen people beat the thing I'm struggling with in one shot with animals which theoretically are weaker (lower-leveled, lower rarity, not even the right elements). I do suggest that people stick to their strongest animals based on the table on the first page, though, instead of jumping around.

Yes I have a Vinataur but I haven't used it in a tournament for a while. I use the Yule Mule for Nature/Fire. I normally use Santa Claws for Treasure creatures but I want to give the Toy Poodle a chance in this tournament. It just lost for the 5th time. In comparing the two dogs, the poodle doesn't look like much of a fighter but I think it can handle it ... eventually.

Note to anyone still hoping to collect the 10 gem reward for the Out of Water goal, There is a little over 7 1/2 hours left in the tournament. Since the reward is only 10 gems, if you don't place the Land Shark egg in the nest within the next 1/2 hour, speeding up the hatching process will result in a net deficit of gems.

Have u tried restarting your device? I do that if I'm stuck and 80% of the time get a Critical when I try again. I used my level 15 Zapra on level 9 if that's of any help to you.

Yay Ive finished this tournament. I didn't log my results as I'm at a 3 day music festival. Got stuck on the crystal unicorn ( 6 tries) but apart from that was kind of a breeze. It really helps to get animals to Epic levels whether they be commons, rares, super rares or ultras. I won't be getting the 10 gems as I'll be losing gems if that makes sense. and now am screwed because Crystal Unicorn.

I don't have any rare dark/whatevers above level 4 at the moment. My highest one is Skyger at 11 - I might as well call it quits right now.

I think this is my last flash tournament, unless I really love the animal, in which case I'll play if I have enough saved gems to get past the last few rounds in this situation. I will never ever spend money to win a flash tournament. I really do not believe they are fair. And based on how many people are really struggling with it, it does seem like they've made it even harder than it already was.

I did not beat the unicorn on my first try.... so I have three more rounds. Not sure if I want to speed them every 15 minutes and try to beat at least a couple more rounds, or just wait an hour, spend 98 gems on the last three rounds, and go to bed. I'm pretty over losing. But I am a little curious to see just how bad my final record would be if I don't use any ultimates.

I'm finally on the final round. Next free battle in 11 minutes. If I don't win it I'm left with some terrible choices: spend 4 gems over and over, using less and less better-matched animals until hopefully I win? Or spend 9 gems over, and over, to reset the timer and heal my toucan until hopefully I win? Try another few free times by setting an alarm and waking up every hour for 3 hours? Or try once now, and if it doesn't work, speed and use an ultimate? Or live without the Land Shark, which I particularly like for it's humor and uniqueness?

This is the first tournament EVER in this game I may not be able to finish without spending a bunch of gems. It is bedtime on Saturday and I've not won. I've never come close to doing this horribly. I even sped the clock 3 times already. If the next flash tournament has 4 or more ultras again, I may not even bother trying. I don't understand why they felt the need to not just make it a little harder (which they didn't even need to do - TONS of players have struggled with and/or given up on flash tournaments before this one) but a LOT harder. Yet again squeezing us for gems. But they pushed too far this time IMO. If one of only a few aspects of this game I can succeed in regularly suddenly becomes impossible, that does NOT make me want to spend money on the game. It makes me want to give it up for some other new games I've been downloading.

I sped and tried Santa Claws and he won! Critical on the third hit. Whew! Only spent 16 gems total. I really didn't want to have to use an Ultimate. At 30 gems, the price is too steep. If Ultimates were 15 or 20 gems, I'd use them. But 30 is too much IMO.

The bulldog tournament was my first and I serious have had at least double the losses in this flash tournament as I had in that one. Very discouraging. I'm extremely tired and am debating also what to do, I've sped up a couple rounds so far just to loose. I real like the shark but hate to spend the gems on the ultimate hits, but reality is that's the only way I'm going to get the shark, I don't have any ultras and the supers I have are just not cutting it, could be that I'm still struggling to level them up. Well off to decide, wishing everyone that's still trying great luck!

Zen, two of my family won final round with Matripony on first attempt, Matripony won for four players on this forum, the winner most recorded here.
Sadly, I didn't manage to get Matripony, so struggling on with Toucan. Ironically, Toucan beat Retreiver for me, after twelve failures with better options.

This is my worst short tourney yet. 24 losses to 12 wins. All my animals used were epic except the rumblebee, which was level 13 at the time. I sped 7 times at 3 gems each for a total of 21 gems used.

I honestly can't fathom why 25% of the animals were ultras. (Well, I can, but it doesn't paint a pretty picture.) It just seems like a bad business strategy to me, anyway. Irritating your customers might get them to spend gems in the short-term, but it's not going to keep them long-term. Certainly this tournament could not be described as a particularly 'fun' activity, which is what I look for in my mobile games. :p

Yeeeeah, won't help XD I only started playing just after Halloween, so I didn't have any way to win a tournament by Thanksgiving, but it's the thought that counts.

Edit: Got the extra gems! Used two gems to speed to the next round (timer was just enough) and Skyger bombed out yet again.

You should take screenshots when you win and if you get rolled back and email support. I have noticed that you get rolled back constantly. I know TL has the capacity of checking your account and verifying your roll backs. Maybe they'll reward you the animal or any gems you spent.

Rollback happened to me on the nightmare tournament. I beat the nightmare with a couple mins left. Got the dancing pony and no nightmare in my storage. Sent S8 a message about it and they gave me the nightmare animal. I didn't have a screenshoot either (but I always take them now)

I did manage to win this tournament without using an Ultimate hit. However, I did spend 13 gems on speeding up battles to get in couple more chances and won with a little more than 1/2 hour to spare. Definitely my worst Flash tournament since the first Steamtrunk flash tournament. My 24 losses is the worst result I have had in any Flash tournament. My 12 losses in round 11 is the most I ever had in any round in any tournament ( previous record was 8).

Just for the heck of it I went ahead and tried my Skyger for the very last time in the last minutes of the round. It still didn't work.

So that was five losses.

Seriously the worst line-up for a flash tournament. I have a hard and fast rule for DS that when I see a certain lineup, I don't even bother because chances are I won't win (took me three losses to that lineup and losing out on them to figure it out) and I think that will be applied here with this one.

Another one to add to my "did not win" list. These very short tournaments are rubbish. Especially when you are not in the right time zone, but TL don't care about that.

I treat them as an opportunity to gain more of the Event items only.

I don't know if this happened to anyone else but I won the final round with my level 11 thorilla without getting a critical hit, just three (mighty) strong hits!! Didn't get the goal gems though. Being in the UK is a huge disadvantage in these flash tournaments and I am not sure I will bother again.

For once a flash tournament wasnt that bad for me, I think 4 tries on one round was my worst. Spent maybe 10 gems to get a couple more tries in as I'm in Europe and sleep twice during these horrid things. But I got him with 7 hours to spare(was going to bed so tried a speed up and won second try) so that was a nice surprise. And thank the makers too!!! Something that actually suits that horrible under the sea habitat

I got the Shark but it took me 91 gems!! I Beated the tucan with one critical hit and I Beated the Saphire in 7 or 8 rounds. The other 2 ultra rare weer difficult and I was almost out of time so I bought two ultimate attacks. Really not cool of tl to put 4 ultra rare in 1 tournament! I'm breeding the Great Dane now :)

I know what you are saying - got my own theory too. I ended up having to use an Ultimate to get past the Retriever. If I had been left with more time I would have carried on but by that point it was 1am in the UK and I wanted to go to bed. I hate having to use an Ultimate and as a rule I refuse to use them. Yes--I do take photos but TL doesn't respond in a timely manner--but I ended up winning the tournament after frantically buying gems at the end ! It's sad how TL runs people ragged :-(. And now my problem is not being able to breed any of the new animals after about 95 attempts!!!!!

I played nearly every hour at the expense of living a real life! I failed an inordinate amount of times even with several ultra rares at level 15 on my side. I ended up speeding, using 132 gems on speeding and ultra attacks, and still did not win the land shark.

No, after that, I will not be thrilled at the gem sale and buying gems to refill my bank, not to acquire the emerald dragon either. (I have no gem animals, but not for the lack of trying. ) I will not be spending any money on any value pack either. That would be self abuse.

SOUR TASTE TEAM LAVA, SOUR TASTE. that was ridiculous.
