I am using my Matripony in this tournament to find out the strength of this element "Valentine". I got these results:
1-Matripony vs fire ----> neutral
2-Matripony vs fire-nature ---> neutral
3-Matripony vs fire-electric ---> weak
4-Matripony vs dark-earth ---> neutral
5-Matripony vs earth ---> neutral
6-Matripony vs earth-water ---> strong


I have also tried the treent of life (living wood) against fire-Xmas and the result was neutral. That means living wood is neutral vs xmas.

I haven't been playing very long so this is my first tournament, please forgive me if these questions seem dumb.....


So I went to battle against Pyro, won and it said 59:59.. Til next battle or 4 gems to battle now. I left the tournament. A timer showed up above the tournament for 10 mins. When the ten minutes were up I went back in and again it was pyro, fought again another victory again said the same thing 1 hr next battle or 4 gems, and again 10 minute timer above. Am I doing something wrong? Why the 10 minute timer if it should be an hour? Do I have to fight pyro repeatedly?

EDIT: I think it was a glitch, when I came here to check for a response I completely closed the app. When I just went back timer now shows 24:xx. Yeah thought I was stuck on pyro. Lol. Thanks for trying to help.

Okay, I have a couple guesses as to what's happening to you. There are 2 separate things:

1) When you use an animal to fight (in either the arena or battlegrounds), and it loses, it need 10 minutes to heal before you can use him again (unless you gem-heal him). If you want to fight again in less than 10 minutes without spending more gems, you must choose another animal. *

2) Your connection to the server may be not so good. Before every battle, visit a neighbor or something to be sure you are synching with the server. Then as soon as you have finished the battle, do the same thing. This ensures the server is synching every battle. If the server doesn't synch the battle, you may have to fight that same battle again, even if you already won.

Hope that helps.

* If you don't want to wait an hour, and want to keep using the same animal, my recommendation is that you set a timer for 15 minutes. Then it's only 3 gems instead of 4 to skip the timer and get your next battle, AND your animal will have healed in that time.

I haven't been playing very long so this is my first tournament, please forgive me if these questions seem dumb.....


So I went to battle against Pyro, won and it said 59:59.. Til next battle or 4 gems to battle now. I left the tournament. A timer showed up above the tournament for 10 mins. When the ten minutes were up I went back in and again it was pyro, fought again another victory again said the same thing 1 hr next battle or 4 gems, and again 10 minute timer above. Am I doing something wrong? Why the 10 minute timer if it should be an hour? Do I have to fight pyro repeatedly?

The colours to me aren't hurting my eyes, what is hurting my eyes, is that they decided to deleted the table thing, reading a table with this new design is like an offence to anyone that has ever created an organized table, where the info for each round has the right space and the letters had the right size so it wasn't hard to the players to understand and the text was always the same size, we were the ones that could choose to put the letters smaller or bigger, the other thing they had done that is horrible, is the fact that they choose to put the space for the info more smaller and leaving blank space in the sides, what is something that shouldn't be done.

I don't know how anyone can find anything on a table so incredibly squished. Anyone who can no longer read tables, pease add your feedback to that thread if you have a minute. We really need this fixed if we're ever to be able to have information organized and readable.

In the meantime, I'll spend the evening trying everything I can think of to make it readable again. So sorry, everyone. I have no idea why they thought totally ruining the readability of tables by squishing them into the tiniest space imaginable, and reducing the text to so small even those of us who don't need reading glasses now do, was a good idea. :( :( :(

Hey Zenobia, dont be sorry, as it wasn't your fault that they totally screwed up your table and really appreciate the time you are taking to help rectify the problem. They have made it impossible to read the chart now. Im using a ruler as a guide line :) as tgats the only way one can read line by line

I have forced every single cell in the table to have size 2 (normal-sized text), and added lines between every row with an invisible - (text same color as their background :P ). I think it's readable again but it's a whole lot of extra code just to get it to look like it should, other than the gray background. Thankfully, I could turn on WYSIWYG to select everything in the table to resize it rather than type a before and after every single cell individually. I also forced some spacing between columns with more invisible - & nsbp and stuff.

I'm sure that is 100% mumbo jumbo to most people, lol. (Try quoting my op to see how much code it is... and keep... scrolling... down...) But... readable again now I hope? If so, take a screenshot or print it - in case they wake up in 12 hours and look at the forum and change everything again. :rolleyes:

I can't do anything about the forum being only half as wide as my screen now forcing us to scroll twice as much. But I sure as heck can jerry-rig that table to all heck!

It's not your fault that the table turns out to be unreadable, your help is everything in this forum, I love your tables, but they decided to ruin that with the new design, I hope it's fixed now. :)

They didn't edit my post. They changed it so that EVERY table EVER made on this forum defaults to THAT. Take a look at my Blizard thread. Or any of RSG's or anyone else's nice, neat tables. Nice and neat no more! Crumpled up like a piece of paper and about as readable.

It means if anyone wants to be able to read any of the old battlegrounds threads, those of us who made the tables need to go into every thread with a table and jerry-rig it to be readable again. Ay, caramba!

Anyway, I hope my tweaking helps. I can't change the background from that dark gray, but I forced the size and spacing to my will.

I've had this experience on first rounds but its usually meant I've taken out the treasure and/or the gems in one round(or within 5 tries) hopefully this is also the case with you

Okay, so Valentine is neutral to Xmas. Thank you so much to everyone who tried it on the Toy Poodle!!!

Now we just need to know its relationship to gem (and living wood, but we can't find that out until they put a Treent in a tournament).

So if anyone is willing and able, please try the Matripony (or another Valentine) vs. the Ruby or Emerald. Fire and nature are neutral so the result will indicate its relationship to gem. Thanks. :)

I also never commented on the animal itself... meh. I actually really like the design, it's not a clone despite it being another dog... the only thing I don't like about it is the elements and the colors. Another earth-fire animal... after the world event full of earth-fire animals! Really? Why??? And if it has to be earth-fire, does it at least have to be the SAME EXACT two colors as so many other earth-fire animals? This design with different/unique colors would have had me genuinely excited. I like his slightly evil look, lol.

ITA - it's not nearly as fun as previous tournaments are. Losing more than winning in the first 7 rounds no less, is not enjoyable. It's stressful and disappointing.

I wish it mattered at all how the early tournament went. It doesn't, really. Over all these tournaments, we've seen people have a tough time throughout the entire thing, but we've also seen that a rough early tournament means an easier later half, or a super easy first half meaning a very hard second half. But then, some people have had a very smooth time for a whole tournament. You can't predict anything based on the early tournament.

There's no rhyme or reason to any of this. I wish that s****/fighter selection mattered more than luck but it honestly feels like 90% luck still. The only thing I can say, is that my tournaments, other than the first couple, have always ended with me having about 40-45 losses. Doesn't really matter where those losses have come. They can be evenly spread or happen almost entirely on one or two rounds.

I'm also going relatively smoothly, at least compared to my first couple of tournaments. (Not as smoothly as the rumblebee, though.) I'll be taking on round 15 in an hour and so far I have a record of 14-4.

Hopefully anyone who's had trouble these first few rounds gets lucky on the later ones!

edit: yeah, agreeing with ready. I do think the last third of the tournament almost always racks up the most losses, but a good or poor start doesn't really correlate with how you do later on. I've seen people complaining about horrible starts and then breeze through the rest. Then I've experienced having a smooth ride until the last few tournaments where I'm stuck for a day on one animal. So, keep your hopes up & keep trucking along, basically. It's a bit sad how based on luck this game is.

Quoting this to show an interesting possible-trend. 10 losses in the first 7 rounds may be a record for me but what's interesting is where those losses came: 7 of 10 of my losses has been using a level 15 ultra rare. It seemed to me last tournament that my ultra rares were under-performing. It seems even more-so this time around. Take iciclaw for example: the ultra-rare emerald dragon lost to him 3 times. Then, since his superior rarity was proving utterly and completely useless, I thought why not replace him with a toy poodle. The rare toy poodle got a critical **** first hit.

It's too early to call in anywhere near statistically significant but it's interesting that after round 1, all my losses were with ultra rares. The ONLY round I have gotten through with no losses was when I tried a super rare first. I am going to try a super rare first for the rest of the tournament if there is one with the same number of strong elements as the ultra I would normally try first.

After a smooth 13 rounds yesterday (results page 3, post 23), this morning ive lost to the confetti yeti 3 times now(I know its not that many but still stuck) ....I don't own any crystal or gem element animals. I have an epic grassquatch and magmacore, lvl 8 thorilla, lvl 12 thunder mammoth, lvl 14 glacial griffin lvl 14 gold lion lvl 14 zapra or lvl 13 ampeater (lost twice) thinking of using my grassquatch...Can anyone give me some advice please on which to use

My super smooth ride continues... At the halfway point, I'm 15-4, which might just be my best ever... though I can't wait to get stuck against the Toucan for 15+ tries like every other tournament lol.

I have hit a bit of a roadblock with the level 15 Noelephant on round 20. Four losses so far with my level 15 Steamtrunk. I had an easier time knocking it off in the Noelephant tournament and it was at level 20 then. The losses were bound to catch up with me, 19-8 overall.

I don't know, my tournament hasn't been that bad and I've been using SRs - mostly epic, one lvl 14. Overall they have done very well. I do use them over my lvl 10 ultras - I've found that even in the case where an ultra might be better rarity-wise, the higher levels on the SRs seem to be better for getting crits.

But of course, zen's ultras are level 15, so you would expect zen to have good rounds with those. Which leads me to conclude that it's highly random.

In the notes I have been keeping about reported results, I have Living Wood strong against both Dark and Gem. I have no first hand knowledge of this since I just expanded to the Treent today. If that is true, you are missing Living Wood strong against gem.

I agree with you. I also experienced more losses in the first 10 rounds than in the later ones which were much more easier.

I just took down Noelephant with my lvl. 10 Love Dove (Critical - Neutral - Critical). I also used it against Pumpkin Panda, Mistletoed Sloth and Toy Poodle and won. So I guess we can't say that love element always neutral against Xmas and it does have power over other elements such as fire and nature.

Nature wasn't giving me critical hits. I had trouble with him too. I think I ended up winning with poodle strictly Christmas attack. Hope this helps

Thanks for that. As is the sometimes the case I managed to beat it the next go I had after posting with my lvl15 Emerald Dragon. Also managed to beat the ED on lvl28 the first time which is a shock as I always seem to struggle to beat that animal on a tournament. 2 to go!! :)

Very pleasantly surprised - I beat the Toucan on my 4th try! Considering the treasure animal almost always takes me 8-15 tries to beat, I feel quite pleased. Still plenty of rounds to get stuck on though.... but so far, this tournament has been breezy for me.

I used Ocean Owl to beat Toucan. Normally I get it with Sloth... eventually.

Of those three, you're best off sticking with the Frostfang. Do you have any water-dark animals? If you have a higher level water-earth rare or super rare, that might be worth a try too. If not, just keep trying Frostfang and you'll get it eventually!

Finished earlier!! Have to say that I have really enjoyed this tournament. I normally end up getting stuck but despite a few losses I have breezed it. Like a few other players I am really frustrated at the moment with the number of limited animals and poor odds of getting them so it has made a nice change to not get disheartened at every 17hr fail (I am looking at you Mardi Claw!!) and have a bit of fun with this game for a change :)

My advice is to stick with the epic Ancient Sloth. And remember the ultra rares often take a lot of tries to beat.

I did it! I completed my first tournament! And with no ultras! Thank you to all the experienced players that posted so much great info that helped me decide which animal to use. I suffered numerous losses, each time I was very tempted to use gems to go right back to battle, but I refrained. I didn't keep track of which animal I used or how many losses I had because I was sure I wouldn't get far, but next time I will. Now for my nest to get empty to hatch my bulldog! Good luck everyone. Your best Dark/Fire is your best choice unless you have a Gem/Fire. I prefer Nightmare, but your Onyx Ox is a good choice. Level it up if you can. Persistence will pay off eventually, Good Luck.

Thanks so much for your advice. My onyx ox is on level 15, epic, so unfortunately can't level it. I don't have a nightmare :( though I was going to give my pysena a try, being dark/water. He is only on level 9, not evolved yet, but you never know what can happen in this game. Thanks again. :)

Ok here's a first for me, was battlling storm sphinx when I was taken out with one hit (the first hit)!!

weird! Never happened to me and never heard of anyone else that got defeated in the first strike like you. I wonder when TL will stop surprising us like this?!!

Do u have a toy poodle? I was also stuck (3) until I used mine. if you do have one, level it up if you can and use the nature attack. Good luck


Yes tried several times with Level 15 Toy Poodle. No luck haha finally beat the scarecrow with Unicornucopia. After a full day of fails.

Got through it. Last two battles were won with 3 tries using Thorilla and then cold turkey whomped the bulldog with only two taps. Now to hatch....wish there was a more specific timer that showed "48 hrs" rather than "2 days"

I have forced every single cell in the table to have size 2 (normal-sized text), and added lines between every row with an invisible - (text same color as their background :P ). I think it's readable again but it's a whole lot of extra code just to get it to look like it should, other than the gray background. Thankfully, I could turn on WYSIWYG to select everything in the table to resize it rather than type a before and after every single cell individually. I also forced some spacing between columns with more invisible - & nsbp and stuff.

I'm sure that is 100% mumbo jumbo to most people, lol. (Try quoting my op to see how much code it is... and keep... scrolling... down...) But... readable again now I hope? If so, take a screenshot or print it - in case they wake up in 12 hours and look at the forum and change everything again. :rolleyes:

I can't do anything about the forum being only half as wide as my screen now forcing us to scroll twice as much. But I sure as heck can jerry-rig that table to all heck!

Just beat Ruby Razorback using Psyena (after losing several times).

I'm not going to speed anything, and likely wont get to the end of this tourney.

I'm still stuck on Ruby and just lost Psyena. I've tried just about all my water types without nature and even Unicorn. Don't think I will get past R22. I'm not ultimating so I guess I'm here till I either beat Ruby or my time runs out.

Interestingly, I've had no problems with this tournament at all. Until L30 which I have been doing all day with no success. I think I'll use ultimate attack next time because I'm bored with it.

I can't remember the last time I won a time limited tournament prior to this though - I've had shocking luck.

After a terrible few tournaments recently, I've finally had one I actually enjoyed (as it should be, this is a game after all)!

I had just 14 losses and they were spread out - mostly 1 loss or 2 losses and then only 2 animals with 3 losses, so not just one or two animals with loads of losses that can be frustrating and take the enjoyment out of it!

So this tournament:
30 wins - 14 losses

Whereas recently I've had:
12 wins - 30 losses
12 wins - 22 losses
30 wins - 44 losses
Which has just been ridiculous!!

Its seems your game got a glitch. It happened for some of us in previous tournaments. Uninstall and reinstall the game. I guess this trick will solve your problem.
