I was not around for the Owl Bear and I love its design! However, I am not going to spend $15 on any animal. $20 for a crystal unicorn makes sense, $5-10 for anything else does as well. As a newbie, I paid $5 for a value pack and felt I actually got value - not sure why they think I would pay $15 now that I'm a higher level.

$19 for me.

I really like my owl bear - I won it and it has been a good fighter in tournaments.

Terrible deal as usual. As far as uniqueness of the elements, a dark-nature super rare is nothing anyone needs to purchase as literally every player gets the Twilight Troll in the battlegrounds. As far as the design, well, that's personal preference. I think he's cute, but is it worth $15+? Probably not. I don't think any of the animals are worth that. There's no way they need to cost more than $5-10 depending on the uniqueness/rarity.

We need more $5-10 value packs that include a creature + food/money. If they want to charge us $15, at least replace food/money with something more valuable like runes, bombs or exclusive decor.

This! If it had a bunch of runes or something... then maybe it'd be more worth it. An exclusive decor tailored to that animal would totally get me thinking to spend, too. But $15 for a non-ultra with only coins/food? After I had $5 packs as a newbie? Nope.

How have they come up with the "full price"? Buying gems to get more food and gold than is in the pack only comes to 7.99 Sterling

My deal for the owl bear includes 15,000 food and 500,000 coins. If I wanted to buy the food straight up 11,500 food is 250 gems the next amount is 22,500 food for 500 gems. 530 gems costs me $19.99, that's already past the value of the pack. 500,000 coins would cost me about a thousand gems which translates to roughly $40. So for minus the animal (that I wasn't even around to get since I'm a newer player) this pack would normally cost about $59.99... Which is also the amount of the pack normally when not on "sale". In this case I'd be willing to pay the $15.99. I can certainly use the food and the coins, but I can easily understand why older players are all "feh, this is useless" because they are sitting on a coin money machine and probably drowning in food, so $15.99 for basically just an animal wouldn't be as appealing. :)

17000 food is 100 gems on my account and 570000 coins is also 100 gems

Same here. I wonder if it scales per level or something? (I'm lvl 40.)

So for me, it's essentially 200 gems for the food/coins (food is always nice, but I don't need it) - so, say, a $10 value, which means that for it to reach $60 they are placing a $50 value on the owl bear. $50 is 1400 gems. It sort of makes sense because I do believe they have tourney animals up for sale for a ton of gems when they're on, but it's just a marketing trick. "look at this great discount! (even though no one would have ever paid the original price for something like this, ever)"

e: I do want to add that if you bought the pack, or are thinking of buying it, or whatever, that's totally cool! People place different value on different things. Maybe to you, personally, a certain animal is worth $15. I just think they'd be more successful with these packs if they priced them cheaper, for reasons I've outlined before.

$15.99, no thanks. $5 I'd buy it.

Lol it's like shopping at Kohl's! But yes, this is how I've figured the cost of the value packs. The tournament animals always do seem to cost as many gems as an ultra rare, probably just so they can do these value packs and claim them as 80% off!!!! I'm not sure who they think that's fooling... it's still $15 for one animal.

I'd like to share some animals I would buy if they were part of a value pack. If they have been in sale before, then I wasn't a player yet (I joined mid November). Here they are:

1) Nightmare
2) Skeletal Dragon (I had the Vamire Cat pack instead)
3) Scarecrow
4) Yak-O-Lantern
5) Cold Turkey (I THINK there was a value pack for this animal, I just didn't really care back then?)

Only if they either cost $5-10 or they came with something more valuable like runes or exclusive decor.
