Maybe for some. But I refuse to accept Starting Blocks and Relay Batons. Just....no. If those somehow make another appearance outside of the Olympics, I'll kick myself then. But I am fairly confident that some parts are pretty much useless, especially if you're still able to build other stuff. For people that have played long enough to have made just about every available appliance, then accepting anything is a pretty good rule of thumb to follow, as you won't have anything more pressing to use any specific parts on. Otherwise...the decline button is your best friend usually.

I only had 5 in storage, and I typically take some things that could possibly make a comeback, as I have a ton of Piece of Glass, Heating/Cooling Coils, Cookie Pan, etc. People just haven't really sent those items on my neighbor list, so hadn't had too many missed opportunities for those. But since I only build about 4 appliances now, it was OK for me, and I was able to do it easy enough with 20 roses as gifts and the rest of the springs on requests.

i'm with you, lavarain. actually, i decline probably even more than you do (and have been slowly building what old ovens i can to get rid of the parts that seem less useful that i already had in inventory). but i find that, since updates get released when i'm at work and can't really play, by the time i get home i usually have enough of the goal parts in my gifts that i don't even have to request them (since i only build a few ovens each time).

I don't undestand why you would build ovens and waste coins buying the appliances, just to use up old parts when there is no limit to the amount of parts you can store? I have literally hundreds of useless (for now) parts in storage and I honestly couldn't care less. They don't take up room, they're not required to be used, so why waste coins buying appliances just to use them up? I never thought I would need those spring handles again, and hey presto, a year and half later I now actually have a use for them.

actually, these recipes are much more reasonable than we got from goals before.
income isn't main point in making money.

cost $240 for 2hrs recipe is something new in bakery (other costs over $1'000). this is for sure looks mercy for lower level players (:
moreover, they balanced the lower income with higher yields than usual.

so the final picture looks really good. giving you as example:

Fall Fountain 2hrs Recipe: 475srv / -$1'200 / +$1'900 = $700 clear profit (income is usual, $4/srv)
Fondue Fountain 2hrs Recipe: 750srv / -$240 / +$1'500 = $1'260 clear profit (income is lower, $2/srv)

and the same is for all other 2hrs recipes from previous goals - excluding puebla oven, they gave less than $1'000 profit.

the other point is that higher yields are much more appreciated in restaurant, where the food disappears like crazy... but it doesn't seem they're gonna change smth in this way, so it doesn't really matter (:

Eight of each?! That's a lot for a goal oven! I prefer the old 4 parts 5 each requirement... ovens are easier to build that way because it's more diverse. Heck, I'd say even the new oven part requirement for both goal ovens strategy that started last December is better than this. :eek:

i have seen the show button not display the images. Force close your browser and restart it. It fixed the problem for me.

I also have millions of coins so I'm not poor and trying to "save" coins by not buying appliances which I literally have no use for since I've mastered all the recipes in them already just to use up old parts that take up no room in my unlimited inventory. However, rather than having to earn coins in the event that I do need millions to decorate my whole bakery, then I already have it.

Does anyone actually spend time scrolling through their gifts tab? The only time I looked at it was yesterday when I posted that I had hundreds of random parts. Otherwise, I never even look at it, because when I'm building appliances, it already tells me how much I need of each part and what I already have. So the fact I have x amount of random parts doesn't bother because I hardly ever see it.

(i would think you do something like this too, seeing as how well-designed your bakery is?) anyway, avoiding massive stockpiles means i'm also a lot more likely to run out of food than many players, so i often go to my gifts to see if i have any food hanging around. i don't specifically ask for it, but i'll use it if it gets sent to me. and since in android, gifts that you most recently accepted are at the end of the list and not the front, it's always the useless gifts i see first.

I also sometimes like to check that i'm not running lower on one general part than others, because then i'll gift that general part to increase my chances of getting it back. and of course, i have to see how many of current goal parts i have so that i know how many ovens to build to get rid of them.

there's only a couple of ovens that i've mastered, and since i only build 3-5 ovens at goal time, if i build another i will eventually pull it out when i'm back to that type of food (my food matches my decorating). the worst thing about it is making sure not to accidentally accept one more piece than i need, because then i have to build a whole other oven. I am now at the point where I can match my food to my decor so my Valentine bakery only has with the exception of RVC, Valentine's themed food/drinks.

Hi Filo and 2Spoons, and both of you are beloved nbrs and regulars, my 2 cents worth...
I play on my iPad...however I recently had to switch to playing on my android phone during a six week home shifting phase. Lemme tell ya, it gets pretty darn tiresome scrolling thru endless screens of gift junk before getting to the food gifts...
It really is a different experience on each platform and that may contribute to the way each player chooses to play.
Believe me, I'm glad to be back on my IPad...now it just all just lies it there in a sort of spare parts/junky nirvana....

When you finish Sprinkled with Love goal, you will be rewarded with the counter. Then a new goal will show up:

So now both goals for the 1st and 2nd recipe on the second oven appear on my list, however, the second recipe is still locked on the stove.

Weird. They started not locking the counters so you can buy them straight away and put the first recipe out on it. It was a constant complaint from players so they changed it. But now it seems they have changed it back to having locked counters as part of the goal? I do wonder if it's because they chose to have a floor display unlocked instead when that would normally be the goal prize instead of the counter.

Fair point. I HATE playing on Android because it's so freaking slooooow. I'm pretty sure it's not my tablet. I play on iOS and it's so seamless and smooth. I only use Android when I want to buy old content from previous older versions.

Sure it's the same procedure as the old goals where we need to finish the previous recipe first before unlocking the next, but I find the change useless because the goal is just sitting there attracting dust since you can't even cook the second recipe yet.

Fair point. I HATE playing on Android because it's so freaking slooooow. I'm pretty sure it's not my tablet. I play on iOS and it's so seamless and smooth. I only use Android when I want to buy old content from previous older versions.

yeah, i only realized there was such a speed difference recently when someone around here was saying how quickly she could tip her ridiculous number of neighbors (only ridiculous to me, of course), and I finally found out that it was because ios is WAY faster. i thought it was just that you guys had blocking and could continue to buy otherwise discontinued tiles & walls, i had never realized you also had no lag. sigh. oh well!

That's called the turbo tipping. XD Actually there's no official name for it, I just prefer to call it that way. Haha.. =x Erm, it also depend on your internet speed. I can't 100% guarantee there's no lag.

lol I was lazy about mastering my goal oven recipes and only last week mastered the Haunted Parfait (along with the rest of that oven's recipes) even though my bakery is decorated for Valentine's Day? Oh well, my bots ate it all quickly. I have specific counters that I prefer, but I do nt mind theming my food to a holiday, which is what I've been doing for awhile now.

Oh. So it's not my phone or my connection, it's android that's why it lags. I always wondered why others had so much time and gave so much effort into tipping.

I'm pissed too that the counters are locked. I had to use old counters instead.

.....but like others have mentioned the counters at the end make no sense........I want to put the new recipes on the new counters ...the goal order has reverted to the way it used to be.....please TL make the counters one of the first things to unlock. The current way it means you almost finish the goals before you can redecorate to the goal theme and basically that means I spend less on redecorating ie not good for the TL coffers LOL

Completely agree! Thankfully the Pink Gift Counters fit in perfectly with the theme. I'll buy the goal counters to complete the goal, but won't use them. Goal themed counters weren't part of goals a few months ago. Go back to that or make them a prize for an EARLY task BEFORE new food needs to be served.

I would almost have preferred that they switched the recipes and put the drinks on the fountain and the food on the stove, though I could see the fountain making the food too since they are dipped in chocolate. It's just seriously throwing me off seeing drinks sitting on top of a stove. I could get behind it if it were just tea or something, since that takes boiling water, so maybe the coffee gets a bit of a pass there too. But ice cream?! Seriously?? The only explanation that can suspend my disbelief is that...it's just a game? That's all I got...

if it makes you feel better, most ice creams do involve use of a stove. you cook a custard first, let it cool down, then put it in the ice cream maker to churn & freeze. and of course the hot fudge on top would involve the stove (or microwave).

Yes, I agree, I don't care for the drink recipes. I think there are already way too many drink machines in this game ... now the ovens are making drinks too !?!? I'm a 'purest', I think the majority (like at least 80%) of the recipes should be items that are baked, with just a few drinks.

You should have a goals tab (looks like a notepad in top left corner on IOS deviced) this is the new February goals - take a look on the first page of this thread for more details. You start with the Winter Frost Fountain - cook through all 3 recipes then you unlock the Choc-Love oven to complete those 3 recipes and end with the goal prize a few posts above once you have completed all goals. Come back and ask more questions after reading post 1 if needed.

Eh, a tiny bit, but I was reaching when I mentioned the coffee honestly, so it's still a bit ridiculous for me overall lol. I don't know why they think that there HAS to be a drink machine and an "oven" every single time. There's a few times where they deviate from that formula, but it seems like it happens more times than not. And now we're making it from appliances that are typically made for food and not drinks. In RS, extra drink machines may be decent to have. But for a Bakery, I think more baked goods over drinks would be better, as Anna mentioned. Not to say that we should always get baking appliances every single update, but it definitely should be the majority of the time.

The recipes were fine, just would have rather that they made a drink/treat machine rather than a stove, is all... :/

I finished this goal last night!!! Whew....That last recipe chocolate martini @ 30 each kicked my butt! None of my neighbors have finished yet. This is the first time I completed a goal before other players! I love the final prize! Happy Dance! I'm glad to be done with this goal.

Um...I finished the goals and tried to put the final goal prize in my bakery and it's invisible. I even tried closing it out and going back in and it didn't show up. I can click on it and it says it there, but you can't see it. Anyone else having this problem?

kellyleroc111 - you can store any of the ovens/drink makers you currently have out, and that will open up a spot for a different oven, such as one of the current goal ovens--no need to sell or wait. hope that helps!

soooo I started late, didn't have time to finish.... something new for me, a pop up that said "oh no you didn't have time to finish! do you want to buy the prize for 31 gems?" I clicked on buy now.... it took my gems....and the prize is still locked!!!!
