So we have a few new recipes in the book(appears in the new NEW updated version, bugs are fixed) that say valentine oven....so where is this fabulous oven?!

edit(KP)

While the Valentine's Cards are not available to see in the storage, there are still in your account. Once you get to the right level, you should be able to see them when you tap on the recipe. You will see 20/20 Valentine's Cards (If you have 20) and be able to learn it from there.
Players that do not have Valentine's Cards but get to the level, are able to purchase the Cards with Gems if they would like to learn the recipe. :)

Edit(KP (file://\\Edit(KP))- New RS 2 Valentine application now available in iTunes!!

It's getting closer to Valentine's Day, so Frank is starting to get frantic with delivering his Valentine Cards. You may notice he'll leave you more than one on occasion if he is in a rush to get to his next stop.

As long as you're able to collect the necessary Valentine Cards in time, you will be able to unlock the recipes at a later time. You just won't be able to use them for any of the Goals. Hope that clarifies it for you! :)

Those under Level 35 can still get the XO sign as a prize if they reach Step 9, you just can't go past that step. Save 40 Valentine's and once you reach the higher level's, you can unlock the last two recipes and cook them then, you just won't get the end goal prize of the kissing love birds. There is no reason to stop just because you can't do Steps 10 - 12.

Our wonder is, how was one player able to obtain it? Someone who's a first time poster then disappears into the wind...

I can wait now, just used my last coins on learning surf and turf. But hope it comes back soon and I agree, I loved how things so far are quite inexpensive.

Have you downloaded the new Valentines Day RS2 in the App Store? That's where the new content is. Well except for the recipes, I didn't see any new recipes. Although I did run across a new (I think) piece of decor that I can't find in my section to buy but maybe it's a goal decor and I just haven't made there yet. Idk:rolleyes:

I'm very happy that they released an actual Valentines Day app! Super excited and happy that the new items aren't expensive and they are actually COIN items and not gems!!! Yay!;)

I think I can hold off your poking and prodding for one more day, but that may be my limit. Once I go around tipping tomorrow I'll probably cave in and just download it, will depend on how much sleep I get tonight. The peer pressure is starting to get to me. *giggles*

By the way, I'm really hating Cid, truly, truly, hating him. He refuses to drop a shovel to me. All I'm asking for is one tiny little itty bitty shovel, but noooooo, he keeps giving me gems, which I'm truly thankful for, really, since I don't buy them now, but I REALLY NEED A SHOVEL CID!

Who do I have to bribe and cajole to get him to give me a shovel? See, I'm begging now, and that is so unbecoming. :o

I thought that too first, to download rs valentine when i got a goal asking me to do so... But then i looked at the list of storm 8 games ( by clicking the logo in the upper right corner), and rs valentine isn't listed there. So i downloaded it anyway, because if it isn't listed there... How can we can get gems for it then? Weird way of thinking i guess.. But hey, maybe i secretly just couldn't wait

31!!! Wow, I've gotta be doing something wrong cause I have TWO. Two whole cards....what the heck:( And one didn't even register in the goal. Also I see that at least 4 of the recipes in the new vday oven require 20 cards each to even learn. At this rate, I won't even get to learn all the recipes. I was really excited about this...hopefully my luck turns around as there's still lots of time...*fingers crossed*

Several times i have gotten the message that I have to upgrade my storage capacity when I
tap on Frank. I only had 13 envelopes stored this last time. (I have 2 of 5 needed for goal.)

Instead of deleting boards & shovels I went ahead and upgraded my storage from 85 to 90.

My pantry wasn't full but my tool box was when i couldn't take Franks envelope.

Finding this dude to get an envelope is harder than collecting a child support check. I've only seen him once. 15 days to gather enough cards to unlock all of the recipes is a bit much. I also wish I could buy an extra one. One recipe at a time will become tedious. And they're so pretty!

The title of that part of the goal is totally right! ' Lost my nerve' . I sure did. I woke up at 6 am and opened the game. Frank left a letter. After monitoring my game since then, he came back 3 full hours later for my second letter. I'm glad i could collect some letters when the update began, so i'm busy with learning my second recipe. But sadly it didn't register those letters so, many hours later, i'm still stuck with 2 out of 5. Lost my nerves and feeling like a dog who's waiting for his bone. Well, lucky now i finally know how my cats feel who are waiting at my bed for me to finally wake up so they can get their meals after a long long night... Urrghh

Ps: yess i take this game too seriously :o

After I downloaded the game update I got one love letter - which doesn't show up in the progress report and not a single one after that, i.e., Frank isn't showing up.

I force-closed the game, no change, I deleted and downloaded again, as someone recommended earlier in the thread, again, no change.

Since it also seems I am not the only one so affected, I'd like to suggest an extension of the event, for the time - for me, almost 5 hours by now, might be even longer for others - Frank was AWOL.

Frank is a bit of a no-show at my restaurant, too.

Will he show up in regular RS2 or only the Valentine's edition? He showed up once when I first downloaded the Valentine's edition, but that card isn't registering towards the goal & closing he game and even deleting and reinstalling hasn't yielded a visit from Frank. I do hope this gets fixed soon.

He returned after 3 hours for me. Almost exactly since my osso buco had just completed.

For the record, TL, that's a ridiculous respawn rate. If I check every 3 hours (and I mean EVERY, that's never missing because I'm busy plus setting a timer to wake up at night as well, which I adamantly will not do), I can get 8 cards a day, times the 15 days of the event will be 120 cards. That's barely enough to get the recipes if they cost 20 cards each (which the visible ones currently do, who knows if the ones further down the list cost more).

So you've given us enough time to complete the content, provided we plan our entire leves around your game and agree not to sleep for 2 weeks? Ridiculous...

I'm now to the point of thinking this isn't cute or funny or even fun anymore. Total of 3 flipping cards while I read others received over 60??? This is worse than a FS2 event for me right now. Is this really how this is suppose to go or is there a problem? Someone please look into this?

I agree. Why can't this be structured like the mastery goal (and regular RS)--once you cook x amount of the meringue rose you unlock the next recipe. Unless the later steps of the goal award a bunch of cards, but somehow I doubt it!

No, you can delete the regular game for now. Once the original game has a new version update, then you can redownload it and delete the Valentine game.

Lvl49 here :p all the recipes are open to me but I don't have enough love letters.

I'm actually not surprised, from memory strawberries aren't open to users until level 47 or so, I think.

I suspect lvl 49 is the current max level, I'm trying to speed through my leveling to unlock more counter in order to cook the valentine dishes, shockingly my 'next level' requires 9,947,999 XP. As if. (I need to be level 56 to buy more counters.)

That sounds pretty consistent with other TL games, where the "next level" is theoretically available but de facto impossible to reach.

Out of curiousity, do you have a lot of other lvl 49 neighbors? I just haven't seen any lvl 49 places yet, so I'm wondering if you're an exception to the rule or if there are lots out there I've missed. If there are, that's fine, but if not, it seems pretty uncool of TL to include limited time holiday content that 99% of players have no chance of accessing...

I'm now to the point of thinking this isn't cute or funny or even fun anymore. Total of 3 flipping cards while I read others received over 60??? This is worse than a FS2 event for me right now. Is this really how this is suppose to go or is there a problem? Someone please look into this?

I agree. I've had the game open almost continuously since last night (except when I was sleeping) and I have two letters. This shouldn't be a luck thing. It should be a fun event that encourages players to play. I have a lot of fun with other TL holiday events. Why are they making this so frustrating. I can't even get started. If it's a money issue for them, I'm not even far enough along to bother spending any on this. Help TL. Fix your event!

For those that have passed the part of the goal to give Frank the 5 letters, can you tell the rest of us if he shows up more often after that part? I'm thinking like the drop rate in other TL games during events, they tend to dwindle when you need them the most, hence Frank barely showing up when we need the 5 cards to pass that part of the goal, but then, once past it, he comes as often as Cid and we'll have enough cards to then deal with the recipes......At least, that is what I'm hoping for, as the current rate is never going to unlock them for most of us. Since last night I've only seen Frank a few times and there's no way I'll have enough for the recipes that it's almost pointless to even attempt to work the goal before it expires on me.

At this point I don't care about the stupid goal. The end decor doesnt concern me anyways. I just want to know if he will continue to leave letters so we can continue using the oven by unlocking recipes.

If not, there was no point whatsoever to make the last one level 47 when only 2.5 players are there!

I was on and off for most of the day and I just now got my 2nd envelope. So let's see, 1 about every 8-9 hours for me???? There is NO WAY at this rate that any of this is even doable. Since this is pretty much the only TL game I even play anymore, I'll say I was not only excited about this event but also trying to keeping a good attitude about this whole Frank situation. BUT seeing that the next steps will just continue to require envelopes in order to complete them, my good attitude has completely flown out the window. This is a JOKE. And seriously, all for a decoration I'm really not even crazy about and not to mention the recipes in vday oven look as if they are just for show and not money makers. I'm wondering why Im even upset over this. So tired of these impossible events that they do on all their games, I could just scream.

I play games to get a break from real life frustrations, NOT for them to add to my list. I've played TL games for literally years but sadly I think the end is very near for me:( Its a shame that all the forums are for anymore is for us to come see what the problem is and to vent to try and help us all through these aggravating times. I have had my game open for the past 8 hours while I do other things and I've gotten only 2 cards! Frank should come around as frequently as the other two item droppers, especially since every recipe is going to require 20 cards. This is such an ironic response from the game developers to the frequent complaints about the rate at which construction items are given.

I had 31 envelopes before Frank dissappeared, but they didn't count towards the 5 envelopes, so that took forever. When waiting for that I already started to use my oven. I'm still at step 6 of the goal (no envelope) so I have no clue if you are required to reach lvl 47 to complete the special event goal. I only have 2 active neighbours and they are both lower levels, I have some visitor friends that are lvl 4x, I enjoy visiting them to see what they are cooking, but the nature of this game is such that you don't really need any neighbour except to complete one of the earliest goals, so I don't even think that's relevant.

If I'm lucky I see him about every 5 hours. Right now I only have 10 cards and in order to learn the Valentine Cookies (part of the goal I'm on now), I have to have 20 cards. It is the same for the Cupcakes, which will come up next. With the average time that I'm seeing Frank, there's barely enough time for me to gather enough cards to learn the recipes, let alone also cook them when Sugar takes so long to refresh and I'm limited to 3 at a time. It also rarely shows up in my street market.

The same on my game. They always arrived together about every half hour. Now Lily only arrives with Cid every other time and Frank is a waste of space. It is not confidence he lacks but lazyitis. He arrives between every 4 to 5 hours. Two days of virtual round the clock playing for 8 envelopes.

The cards are necessary to unlock and learn the recipe, but once learned, they don't require cards to bake. The problem most of us have is that it takes 20 cards to learn the recipe and we can't even get 10. With at least 3 recipes to learn, and only so many days left before it expires, it's doubtful many of us will be able to unlock the 3 recipes we're levelled at to receive.

I didn't have enough cards to learn any recipes, but I went into the oven for some reason or other and noticed the 20 card requirement was GONE!!!

Oh, okay. I could have sworn I looked at it before and couldn't make them, but at least there's one recipe that doesn't require cards to learn. I do wish they would increase the frequency of Frank's visits. As it is, I make sure I am on every 3 hours and it can take up to 10 minutes, but I find he does show up. I even log on if I wake up during the night, just to get an extra card or two. I also just levelled up to level 47, so if I can get the cards, I'll be able to unlock all the recipes. ;-)

This seems to be another example of TLs expertise: how to frustrate players. In FS the breeding rate of limiteds is minute, in DS same, now this. Frank hardly ever shows up, I maybe have 7 letters, and I play a lot. So, this one is not going to happen for me. Fun as a casual game, but I won't spend money to be frustrated. Who needs that?!

Probably...unless there's a big need for envelopes for the last few steps. I should finish in a few days. I'm on step 9, and I'm guessing one of the last steps is learn and serve the cheesecake recipe, which I have the 20 envelopes needed to learn. I was around when Frank came every minute though.

Also, on Monday TL employees will be back to work. They'll notice the complaints and go about fixing the spawn times. There's still plenty of time to finish without using gems.

Yeah, I don't think it's quite fair to compare the experiences of those who built a bunch of cards up back when he was always around to the rest of us who downloaded the game a day later... And apparently don't get to finish as a result?

I see Frank every 4 to 5 hours, so I'm averaging about 3 to 4 cards a day. I have 14 cards right now and need another 6 to just learn the Valentine Cookie recipe, then I'll need another 20 cards to learn the Cupcake recipe. I'll never be at the level for the other 2 recipes before this event ends, but I think those recipes aren't included, right? Since most players aren't at the necessary level? For those that are, do they also require 20 cards each to learn?

I may just, and I mean just, make it to learn those 2 lower recipes in time but it doesn't look good, not at the rate that Frank is showing up in my place. Some people are seeing him every few hours, and others only once a day. I guess I should just be lucky to see him every 5 hours.

I really hope the Frank issue is a mistake!

I have played Team Lava games for quite a while now and consider myself a pretty loyal player. I get that money needs to be made, and I think they do a good job and deserve to make it. The reason I have been willing to buy gems is because I think they are fair to players who don't pay (especially compared to other apps) so in between gem bundles I still get something out of the game. In the past, timed events have been mathematically possible to achieve, at least if I was willing to play around the clock for a while, so I have completed many of them, and I have been willing to use gems here and there to finish an event or quest when I'm short on time in real life.

If you make a great game and release lots of items, I will do what I can within my budget to support it - because it's fun! Lots of chores get done around my house when my kids want to earn money for gems, so I can't complain (although none of us plan to buy a show pony;) I don't need to be tricked or pushed to the limit to buy gems. I'm the perfect consumer for micro-payments, so Castle Story is my all time favorite! i don't find it fun to play a game where the marketing strategy is to manipulate players by guiding them to quests they can't complete without payment.

I want to spend my gems on the cute Valentine decorations in the store, not on unlocking recipes. After doing the math for my own account, I truly hope the issue with Frank is some kind of glitch and will be fixed before my daughter realizes she won't be able to unlock more than one recipe!

The heart berry tart takes 2 days to learn, the cheesecake takes 1 full day. It seems pretty difficult to really complete the tasks in 15 days assuming you have to also cook these items. I'm not going to stress out over this, I'm just happy to have another stove for a few hundreds coins when similar recipes require a stove that costs close to 400k coins to purchase.

easy because you guys have expanded inventories and spaces, not so much for those who are in lower levels.

so once the dateline/days are over, would frank completely stop dropping letters? would that mean we will never be able to unlock those recipes?

tiggerhobbes
02-09-15, 07:49 AM
Not sure why you think it's easy for "you guys" especially after I said I've opted out of trying to complete the goals given its difficulties. I think you will find that when you reach a certain level you will face other limits that TL have not yet ironed out. I know I'm not the only one with 20 (max number) counters topped with 10k+ dishes each (some over 100k dishes), as later into the game the recipes have higher yields and don't require as much babysitting. I'm forced to decide if I want to throw away 193,425 plates of tuna casseroles or wait for them to sell out "naturally," and in the mean time stop cooking in order to find counter space for the new stove/ new recipes.

If there is no disruptive new goals my game is a perfectly balanced combination of dishes that would allow me to use up all the key ingredients I can collect in time. Throw me a time limited new recipe and everything gets out of whack. I stop one recipe to clear space for a counter, I end up with too much of xyz, which I try to absorb into higher number of other recipe, which then uses up ingredients for other dishes.

Phasing out a regular recipe is serious business! /s. Im not exactly complaining, like I said I'm happy to have a cheap new stove. Its just not as easy as you imagine.

No as I used my gems in Goal to "learn" Valentine Cookies BUT when you go to actually make STILL have to have 20 Love Letters  so DONT WASTE YOUR GEMS!

I discovered this too... Really nasty as this doesn't happen in any other game. Giving up on this goal now, as I haven't seen frank for 3 days...

fenrost
02-09-15, 10:05 AM
tiggerhobbes, you aren't stressing - but the issues are if it's realistic for newbies / lower level players to achieve this goal due to 1)level constraints 2)inventory space constrains 3)time constrains.

12 days left, seeing i am averaging 5-7 letters a day, and there will be a few days i would be away from the internet - it is inevitable for me to use gem to finish this goal, and the last recipe which requires lvl 47 to unlock, there's uncertainty if the inventory letters will be retained after 12 days.

deucedeuce22
02-09-15, 10:17 AM
The real issue is that people think this event impacts the game as a whole in any way. Guess what? It doesn't. It's an optional event that rewards some decorations and recipes you will probably phase out after the event ends.

Finish what you can, but don't let it change your opinion on the game because you didn't earn your xo sign or love birds statue. Besides, there's plenty of time for TL to change Frank spawn times.

tiggerhobbes
02-09-15, 10:46 AM
I think lower level players whom have not yet expanded inventory will have to decide whether to delete seeds and construction parts to make room for letters, just like I will have to decide whether to throw always tens of thousands of dishes to make room for the new goal recipes.

As for letter rate, I don't think higher level players are getting more letters than lower level players, in that sense it's totally egalitarian.

For me the only real advantage I see is I get to choose and prioritize which recipe to unlock first, I don't expect to collect enough letters to unlock them all so I will have to decide now which recipes will integrate best with my other recipes and ingredient balance. The down side is that nobody knows how much each recipe will yield, how much time to cook, etc, so I'm playing blind like everybody else.

deucedeuce22, in RS1, there are items that if you did not finish the goal, it stays locked forever as a reminder that you did not complete/missed the goal. i for one, certainly do not want to see a recipe locked up forever if that would be the case.

fatbearsecondary
02-09-15, 11:21 AM
Moreover, if the goals in RS2 are going to be ones that can't be finished without either 1) spending gems or 2) spending 2 weeks straight organizing one's entire life around the game, I want to know so I can decide that perhaps, this isn't the game for me...

You may say they're optional, and right now they may seem to be so, but if this turns out like RS1, once we're all max level and have been for ages, the monthly goals will be a big part of the game. If they're all going to be run like this, I just want to know so I can spend my time and energy elsewhere.

You shouldn't have to throw away tools? The letters are in their own tab, and their tab doesn't have a limit count at the top.

While the love letters appear to have their own storage space, I do believe that if your toolbox is full, letters cannot be accepted. Frank dropped a letter for me yesterday, and I got the usual "cannot be accepted because your toolbox is full" even though I only had around 11 letters and storage capacity of 85 (my tool storage was at capacity at that time). I then deleted some seeds, and when Frank came back, the letter he dropped was accepted.

also, RS1's goal currently 28 days, RS2 is 12 days. how come?

The RS1 goals are part of the monthly set. One set a month, generally starting on the 2nd Wednesday. These happen to be valentines related, and February's usually are, but there are lots of completely random themes.

RS2 doesn't currently have any such setup. If this game turns out to be more like Farm Story 2 (I think a reasonable guess given their similar appearance/engines and reliance on random part drops), the goals will just be seasonal and time-limited as TL wishes. As far as I know, there's no guarantee or expectation of a monthly goal in FS2. So valentines day is coming up soon and the RS2 goals end closely thereafter.

That's kind of what I meant in my earlier post. The goals are a big part of the "end game", aka the stuff to do after you hit max level. If this game isn't going to have goals that are achievable for most players, that's a problem. And more specifically, if the goals aren't going to be fun for me, *I* want to know before I invest any more time here. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt now b/c I like RS1. That won't last forever.

Tiggerhobbes, I've saw you mention that issue several times. As I level up, this makes me nervous and curious to know how you obtain nearly 200,000k plates of a single plate. Do you close your restaurant to cook? I just can't figure out how I could ever be able to have that much food. But would probably cry if I did and had to toss them! So I guess my question is, how on earth do you have such an enormous amount of food? That is only of course if you don't mind sharing:)

A neighbor of mine just told me that step 10/12 is to Learn the Lovely Cheesecake and to collect Butter.

Well, I guess it is at that point that ends the goal for me and I'm not sure why I'm bothering at all now in worrying about Frank and his arrival times. You have to be level 35 to unlock the Lovely Cheesecake and Butter and I'm only level 24. I'll never make it to that level with only 11 days left.

Step 12 is serve 5 cheesecake, 5 split pea soup, and 5 lobster Thermidor.

Edit: kind of a shame, I took 2 Thermidor off the stove several hours ago, and used my peas for tuna casserole and started some 6 hour lobster bisque just now because I was still waiting for cheesecake to finish learning..

Cheesecake 4 hours per
Thermidor 6 hours per
Split pea 1 hour 30 mins per

Guess I play the waiting game now. At least they can all be made concurrently.

Keep in mind Tuna Casserole turns out 1,700 servings each time you cook it, which is great strategy for spice-boosts. The recipe was available to me before they started having mastery stars and before I even think about rotating different recipes after mastery. By the time the idea of mastery came along I already had too many to phase it out.

Also, I went crazy on the street market early on in the game, upgraded to 12 slots or so before I even upgraded my other three markets. I randomly collected a LOT of mushrooms, it pretty much remained double digit in my storage despite constantly making casserole. I finally deleted a beginner dish last week to make room for another mushroom dish, and finally I'm down to single digit/ teen number mushrooms. It's one of those ingredients that's too good to pass up, but you won't get regularly enough to originally plan to have a lot of mushroom recipes out.

At this point in my game, it's a constant struggle to decide which dish to delete to make room for recipe, or how to limit cooking a certain recipe to make phasing it out less painful. I just deleted 8,000 dishes of carrot cake (from the mastery goal) this morning to make room for my heartberry tart.

I've noticed people in the level 40's also have perpetually filled counters, whereas lower level players tend to have empty counters. I think there's a tippinig point when you will find that players who check in at regular intervals during the day will end up with too many dishes to easily phase a dish out. Think of us like a sealiner, we can change course if we see an obstacle, but it will probably be too slow, too late.

In the mean time, still sitting on my hands waiting for dishes to sell out. I'm opting out of the valentine event because counter space, not because of letters.

There isn't anything to fix. TL knew that those last two recipes on the valentine's oven were locked by level and still put them in the goal, so....What I do wonder is if even though I can't get the ending prize in the 11 days, will Frank still come around after the goal has expired so that when I do EVENTUALLY make that level, will I be able to unlock and cook those recipes? If he's gone at that point as well, then those two will stay forever locked as I'll never get enough cards to Learn those recipes and open them later on. I probably wouldn't have either, to be honest. It doesn't help that Helen just asked for a card from me when I'm desperately in need of them to Learn the Cupcakes.

Anyways, the level requirement is there because of the items needed to cook the food. Butter is a requirement and that doesn't unlock until level 35, so even if they lowered the level on the recipes in the Valentine's oven, it wouldn't help as then they'd need to lower the level on the ingredients, and they would never do that.

the Heartberry tart is a bit of a letdown, 30hours to learn,6hr to cook, and only earns $1,050. I have all 20 counters out filled with food and it still sold out before the next batch finishes cooking. (only 350 dishes.)

I hope the other recipes have better yield. More to the point, I hope strawberry shortcake isn't as disappointing (still saving coins to unlock.)

Just checked out your restaurant, looks like you have a few cooking stations left un-used? I think part of the reasons I have so much food out is that I perpetually have something cooking. If I know I can't check my game for a while I put longer duration recipes on all the stoves. Instead of aiming for highest yield recipe, I would recommend having some high yield and some low yield ones so that you will have some leeway to change course when you want to move onto a new recipe.

What recipes you choose really shoud depend on the pattern of what items you can get, I invested heavily on the street market so it's a bit more random for me, and my recipe choices have more to do with having the flexibility to use up each key ingredients if I end up with a lot of them from the market. (mushrooms, onions, beef, potato, peppers, sugar, lobsters, chicken, cream...) Throw anything randomly at me and my kitchen can process it in time.

If you don't rely on street market as much, then I think the recipes you choose should really depend on how many items you can collect from each store. It makes a lot more sense to use up everything you can get, rather than to aim for high volume.

But if you insist, Fajita, Baked Potatoes are the stuff that you really can't get rid of if you tried. I've wanted to phase them out a long time ago but they just won't go away. Lobster anything is just as 'bad,' but it's probably because I keep getting more lobsters (in the market) than I can use and a few stations end up cooking up nothing but lobsters these days. (Lobster Bisque churns out 1,510 dishes each time.)

Good luck, I 'added' you ingame because I don't know how else to check out your restaurant :p If you don't want a new neighbour just accept and delete me, I won't be offended.

Step 10 - learn lovely cheesecake; collect butter
Step 11 - ????????????????????????

Yes. My pantry is close to max today, and the street market is not my friend for the moment. I'm missing one ingredient for just about everything, waiting for the individual markets to refresh or for it to come available at the street martket.

I just finished mastering quiches - and surprise, my market has given me dozen and a half peppers, so out of habit I bought those up. No onions, potatoes or beef today.

Kooky, can you please find out from a TL Community Manager what will happen for those of us that can't get past step 10/12 due to our level being lower than 35? Will Frank still come around after the goal expires so we can at least get the letters to unlock and then Learn/Cook the recipes, or are we out of luck with that as well as the decor item?

It would have been nice if TL split this goal up into two, one for the lower level players to achieve and then another, with another better prize, for the higher level players to also achieve. Yes, the higher level would have received two prizes, but hey, they're a higher level and have been with the game longer - it's their right to get an additional prize for all their hard work.

It just kind of stinks that us lower level players can't get anything but the few recipes....

As a note, 10/12 means you've done 10 steps, not you're on step 10. Count your green dots. I'm on the last step, and it shows as 11/12 with the reward being the love birds.

And the "rewards" are split up, you get the xoxo sign after step nine (I think) and the love birds for completing everything. Refer to the first post in the topic, it has all the information.

Does anyone have cookbook info for the cookies, cupcakes, and cheesecake? Would be nice to get those added to the main post as well.

Apologies if this is already known, but I've just had a visit from Frank and he gave me TWO Valentine cards!

Up until now he's only given one, so that's an improvement! However only being at level 25, it's kind of immaterial for me as I'm obviously not going to be able to unlock the last two recipes...

Thanks for that information as it isn't listed in the first post so those that haven't reached that point, don't realize that there is another prize with this goal chain and none of the pictures posted show the XO sign either.

I'm also glad to see that Community Manager answered the other question some of us had in regards to those that won't reach the required level to cook those recipes before the goal ends what would happen, we'll still get it as long as we get the cards from Frank in time. I don't mind missing out on the decoration but the recipe would have made me sad.

I agree with rosewaterlily that it is now every 2.5 hours instead of every 3 hours for Frank visits. I've had my iPad timer running for the past two days to guarantee that I will have enough to get all the recipes, so I'm pretty confident on those figures.

I am also glad to hear that the cards will stick around so that us lowbies can unlock the recipes after the event if it comes to that. And while we might not all earn finish all twelve steps of the quest line, I believe someone earlier in the thread said that step 10 gives the XO sign as a reward, so that's something to look forward to for folks under level 35.

I think it's a coincidence when he gives 2 cards, as I got 2 cards twice today & later only got one.

...but I wonder if it might have to do with timing? The two collections that gave me two cards were both over 3 hours, & the one that gave 1 card was less than 3 hours. Anybody with similar (or different) experiences?

I'm a little dissapointed that, with level 34, i maybe can't complete this goal. I don't mind not getting the final prize, because it wouldn't suit in my restaurant. But it's the idea that i don't like. I started it, so i want to finish it. When they give you the chance to start it, they must give you the chance to finish it. If you're a beginner level, like level 5 or 6, then i would understand. I'm halfway level 34 so maybe i'm going to finish it just in time. But for those that are under level 30... They just don't get a fair chance.

It's great that everyone gets the chance to eventually unlock every dish for that stove. But what i've read that some leave their sleep for it... That's not the way it's suppose to be. I don't do that, i hope with holding a normal routine with 7 hours sleep and my work, that i can collect enough cards for every dish. No work...no money to support TL, so i hope they keep that in mind :)

Can any high/max levels say whether the strawberry shortcake will require valentines to unlock as well?

Maybe it was always in game and I didn't notice it before, since I'm not even close yet, but its being featured in the loading screen has made me a bit worried. I'm pretty sure we need to collect 80 valentines, total, to unlock the 4 recipes on the special holiday oven. But are there any recipes on the regular oven that require them? Just wondering how many it will be necessary to collect before the event ends.

I'm only at level 40 but I'm almost positive that I remember seeing strawberry shortcake prior to the vday event. I can tell you that the fruit market has strawberries. I think it's safe to say that recipe won't require the dreadful Valentine's day cards.

tiggerhobbes

Strawberry shortcake is a chateau oven recipe, the oven costs 390k coins to unlock. And the recipe itself costs 121k coins to unlock.

Heartberry tart is a similar recipe on a cheaper stove, but IMO none of the valentine stove recipes are truly profitable or even worth doing. (Long wait, expensive to unlock, require rare letters, and yield very little coins.)

I originally was excited to see the recipes, I get too much strawberries and need another recipe to consume them fast enough. Sadly it turns out to be a bit of a flop for me, it's only really worth doing for the goal completion but pretty worthless as a stove.

You have a slight chance of making it to step 10 and getting the XO sign, but making it to the end and getting the love birds would be pretty impossible, IMO. Just don't throw away any of your love letters as you'll need 20 each to unlock each recipe. As long as you have enough love letters before the event ends, you'll still be able to unlock the recipes, just not receive any goal prize (XO sign or Love Birds).

Not unless you can leave up to the butter before it's over. Otherwise, you can save your vday cards and still learn the recipes even when the event is over as you get to those levels. So you'll need to have 40 cards if you wanted to learn the last two recipes in the vday oven.

I think TL is trying to prove that they can make anything or anyone desirable if they make him scarce enough.

Is it bad that I'm actually secretly pining for Cid? If I complete the goal will I get to choose to buy Cid dinner?

Am I the only one stalking Cid and scolding wait staff for bumping into him and freaking out when he orders salad when I made hamburger, steak, stew, pizza, meatballs, grilled cheese sammich, and meatloaf thinking one of these will have to get him hooked and make sure he comes back begging for more?

Am I the only one who jump with delights every time he asks for a drink and I personally served it, instead of letting one of my incompetent wait staff?

Will Cid ask for a restraining order? o_O;;;
