You don't get a choice with the box, so no guarantee what you will get. You only get one item. Although lower, there still a chance you can end up with duplicate items.
So think carefully and be sure you want to gamble before tapping the box

Wow, it's very expensive for the risk. You should write to developers and ask them to change rules and open all boxes to have ability choose items in the future. There is HUGE difference between (for example) Cupcake display and Poem board. On another hand, TL will have more profit if you buy in 'blind' way again and again...

then i tried again and got the candles.....grrrrr
and i finally decided to use the gems that i saved SO LONG for expansion and tried one last time!

I think the people who choose to buy gems and spend them on the boxes know full well what they're getting into and understand the chances of duplicates. I don't think it's a question of being "played." I'm sure they could look at your expenditures and find some stuff they think it's silly that you buy, too. For the record, I don't buy gems. Just playing devil's advocate.

I am only a member for a month. I didn't know you could get duplicates or even triples. That won't happen again. I won't be made a fool of twice and they are hurting themselves in the long run. Now they lost a "paying customer" times 3 games.

Had you checked here first...perhaps done a search on threads about cases...you may have found that info. I know I did. Check, before trying. So I knew it was a blind gamble when I rolled the dice. I too have duplicates. Luckily I liked them. Really. Grow up.

Ya actually I would....I got four candy canes in farm, before I got something I wanted. Didnt throw a hissy. But there was more there i liked. not even trying valentine because there's only one thing I want and everything else I wouldn't want. It's a gamble. Go in knowing that, or don't do it. Well said! It's hard to understand what the big deal is about someone asking a question! When we all started, we didn't know how the game worked. There's almost no instructions. I played for a while before I even knew there was a forum, let alone knowing how to search it.

Jealous loser: no not everyone can have a nice bakery buying gems. I've seen some bakeries where the owners obviously spent lots of cash but they're still fugly because the owners have no taste and just want to stockpile special ovens and ten thousand tables. I've bought some gems just because I want a nice looking bakery that will inspire me to keep going. I like looking at other bakeries like Linda to get design ideas. Everyone plays differently, some have money but no time, others have enough time to play for hours and earn gems the long way. And then there are people like you who just moan on the forum and waste everyone's time. You don't like it - don't look at it.
