It's a shame we can't even trade or give away extra items we win in this game. I have like five of everything and I certainly can't justify having so much valentines decor on my tiny farm. If I could I'd give away the stuff I don't have use for. But I will say that their customer service really helped me out earlier. I had won the cat, but my iPad froze as I took a screenshot of it.. and when I restarted the game it was gone. But after emailing them (and showing them the picture I took) they gave it to me again. I wasn't expecting them to, so it was very much appreciated. Love my new cat :)

Same here! I don't have a rabbit, but the Valentine's puppy and the Cupid kitty both sound like the reindeer, which makes a scratching(?) noise. Is that what the rabbit sounds like?

It's getting tedious doing all the activities on my farm. I think I'm giving up working so diligently for goals that are simply unattainable. Will just try to make gifts at kissing booth out of what is now available and turn in collection as many as it allows me. And then I'm done with this event.

36 collections turned in, no pets yet. :( :( :( I've been desperate for the yorkie!!! super sick of getting balloons :p

I'm glad I've been doing the goals, a part of me thought 'just in case they release the pets...' I'm 60% done with flour, 54% done with bacon. Happy I'll get to the cat, but still desperately trying for that yorkie!!!

Based on what we have seen so far from TL, they don't want players to get the pets, so the last goal is likely to be very difficult to complete.


All previous goals have had Valentines parts which needed to be given and it has been working through the collection but we have yet to see a goal which gives the white bear, wreath and necklace. So there is a possibility that these will be needed for the goal.

They are releasing the goal when most players will have turned in all complete collections and have no surplus of difficult to drop items.


Just thinking ahead here. It may be wise now not to turn in any more collections until we see the last goal requirements.

I stopped doing any of the goals after the first one.....once I saw that you only get some of the prizes that you know are going to be multiples from turning in collections. If they had exclusive prizes I'd be completing the goals.

I did too and I think many people did.....and I think that is why they have now put the cat at the end of the questline to force more people into doing these goals and using gems to complete them.

The final quest prize is the cupid cat and has ciarjen said in an earlier post you might not want to turn in your collections yet.

This quest will give the cat as a reward for those that don't want decorations. I myself love the decorations and do not consider them worthless! I look at items available in the store to buy and by having these events Team Lava gives me a chance to obtain decorations by just doing normal things around the farm except ha the making of the valentines hook but it is what it is.

Details of what is required will not be released until February 14th for the cat quest but they were nice enough to give players a heads up so that they can complete the other quests.

New players you have to complete all the quests so that the last quest pops up.

I think it might involve turning in catfish too so better start saving them!

I have not found the quests to be too difficult. When I first saw Hogs & Kisses, the amount of bacon and flour needed seemed impossible, but I just stalked the shop and I had it finished within a couple of hours.

Probably should've been since it is also all fish their asking for, but with the difficulty in getting wreathes, they were probably afraid of a mutiny and stuck with the bags. LOL

Me either and I was wondering if there was some trick to it, like using the bait in hot spots or NOT in hot spots, but neither seems to work. So far all I have are the balloons from the first quest. What a rip off. And I refuse to spend any more real money on this game! It's not fun anymore - it seems like atL just keeps coming up with more and more clever ways to make us spend money to win prizes. This game has come a long way from when it started, unfortunately in the wrong direction. I'm now playing fashion story and despite the lack of 3-d graphics, I'm enjoying it. Disappointed, AGAIN.

I swear, with so many "customers" complaining you'd think TL would make the game more enjoyable and less frustrating. I have enough stress in my life... I wonder if there is a technique to getting the wreath. ? It takes a long time to craft that bait (waiting on sheep, & mining, then waiting for bait to be ready) ..and then I get anchovies! ha! However, I have gotten a wreath 2ce out of about 15-20 bait. So it is possible, just rare.

They made the wreath unobtainable so that the only way to complete collections is to buy the kissing booth. In the past with these type events you stood a chance of completing some collections even if you didn't buy the premium item.

But after the Christmas event in which they lowered drop rates to ensure that people didn't get the prize, I am not surprised they changed this event to make it impossible to win without spending money.

1 got 1 wreath in 25 baits. Despite it being reported TL have failed to respond to the low/non existent drop rate and that is because it is exactly how they want it. It's a con and if I had spent money on the value pack to buy the baits, I would have reported it to iTunes. It's just wrong!


There are lots of us who actually love this game but the devs continue to strip the fun out of it with each event. I am starting to think it is more about them struggling to keep money coming in rather than greed. It's just a shame that they have to resort to such devious and underhand methods to make the money. There are lots of us who would gladly support the game financially if there was honesty about what we were buying.

It's essentially gambling, and they make much more money off this style of gaming than other methods. It's pretty common knowledge that these mobile app games have a lifespan of a couple of years before people get bored and move on to other things. Mobile game developers have one mission in each of their games - to hook people hard, get as much money as they can in a short period of time (6 months - 2 years), and then move onto the next thing. They aren't in this to cater to us. They are in this to hook us and make a profit. You have to be fully aware of this when you play these games, and accept it for what it is, otherwise you will lose your mind (and a lot of your money). It's just like going to a casino. You can't go there and expect to leave with thousands of dollars. You go there to have fun. And if you aren't having fun - it's time to leave.

Have turned in over twenty five collections and so far only have boxes ,5 ponds, balloons and all the other decorations which are nice but your really only need one of each. I bought the booth as I have done on other occasions and have spent many hours on this game. I realise that this is all down to chance and soon get over the frustration every time I press the and hope that this time it will be a cat or dog and I get yet another pond. What really annoys me is some of the people on this forum who having got the dog and cat then feel free to inform me that it is only a game and that I should spend money to get the rewards. Will these people try not to be so condescending. I am not stupid and understand the rules but I have put as much effort and a lot of my time and money into this particular quest and feel a bit put out that chances are I will have nothing to show apart from mant things in my store. Chance is a wonderful way to play a quest if it is on your side . I only ask that all the people who have got multiple cats and dogs will spare a thought for the many of us who play for hours, spend as much money as they do and end up with nothing more than stuff to go with the rest of the rubbish in their cellar

In the last event that I bought a booth for it shut down at the end of the event and just became a non animated decoration.

All items from that event disappeared from the collection gallery so if this event works the same turn in your collections before the event ends.

I'm having a rough time crafting Valentine's bait (as I'm sure plenty of you are) since I only have 4 sheep. Well, I tried to use my first one of the day, I held my breath, got a wreath.. and then my GAME CRASHED. So, i never actually got it. It reset. I used the bait again and got just a single anchovy. I would strongly advise everyone to turn in as many collection as you can before the event end. Don't wait till the last min to turn in any collection. Once the event is over, you won't be able to craft any collectible on the Kissing Booth or turn in any remaining collection anymore. The Kissing Booth will turn into a pretty but useless decoration, which then you can store it away in your cellar.

I got the puppy on my 46th collection so am much relieved. I still think this event has been badly handled. The kissing booth becomes redundant when the first few collection items stop dropping. I thought the wreaths were a problem but at least I could craft those. I cannot craft roses!

I seem to have more luck with the balloon quest than this Valentine task. Have redeemed tickets to get the gold prize for the first time and got a steam punk kitty!

(Earlier I used the 9 Valentine baits I had saved up and didn't get 1 wreath grrrrr ... I'm learning not to be hopeful with these challenges lol)

I need more catfish, they're being allusive. I really wish I had known this goal was going to pop up when I finished Hogs & Kisses as I wouldn't have sold over 15 catfish yesterday. *cries* I got all the Bass I needed and only need 3 more Anchovies (easy enough to get if I could get the lures), but the catfish isn't showing up in my neighbors shops or the paper. That's the fancy bait and it will give you either salmon or tuna.


And the bait sells for more than the salmon or tuna, so unless you actually need the fish I would not bother making it.


I keep 10 of them in my barn in case I need to get some salmon/tuna quickly for a train order.

Thanks for the information. I hadn't realized when I increased a level that this came along with it. Maybe it is a bait I can craft overnight and then hold on to it like you said, for train orders.

So in a nutshell if you have the iron ore, silver ore and white bears you can hit the skip the wreaths button for fifty gems.
And the kitty will be yours!

Oh, man! I am feeling really lucky that I got the kitty last night, from a random collection... After crafting all those lures, I don't have many mine tools left, and it would take me the better part of two days to pull all those wreaths out of my kissing booth. I was going to go for the second cat, but I think I will turn in collections instead!

That was easier than I thought and I got lucky right after I finished the quest I turned in a collection and wouldn't you know it I got the cat! Now TL just needs to increase amount of pets per habitat so I can get the 3 cats I have in storage out.

Well, I can do the bears and wreathes but the Iron and Silver is going to be a stretch so....I guess I'll just see how much I may be able to get and right before it ends, gem whatever is left. Since it is 60 and 45 now with nothing given, it will surely be less if I can at least get a few in there. 105 gems for that kitty is still cheaper then the other gem kitties in the market.

But, to add insult to injury, Stormie's shop has GOLD and not SILVER or IRON. At least it also had a map and land deed, but COME ON! You set a goal for Iron or Silver and then put GOLD in your market. :rolleyes:

I was considering attempting this last goal... But it's a tough one, and I've desperately wanted the dog more.... So I decided to pass on it and take my chances....turned in my 47th collection tonight and poof! Cupid kitty!! Now praying I can get the dog before times up!!!

TL must have fallen over laughing themselves with that one. They know the only way to get the wreaths is with the kissing booth and I would expect the next type of these events they will do exactly the same - make one item unavailable so that it is not longer achievable to players who are not spending gems. Very unlike other events like DS and FFS where you can get all the prizes regardless of what you spend or don't spend.

Its so lousy that they made the iron so hard to get, and on top of that, we need both iron AND baits made w iron, and on top of that, the baits dont even guarantee a wreath. Its ridiculous! :(

I'm in the same boat but with Silver and Iron. I have 0 Iron and only 6 Silver. Right now it is down to 87 gems to skip and get the kitty, and considering 87 is a decent price (gem wise) for a kitty when compared to those in the market, I plan on skipping as the goal comes closer to ending. I keep hoping for a pick-axe or shovel but I keep getting regular axe's from my deliveries. Then when I actually do get what I need to mine, I end up with a necklace or a ruby and not Iron or Silver. :rolleyes:

I hadn't planned on doing any of the event until they mentioned that the kitty would be the prize from "Will you be mine", and ever since then I focused solely on those goals, collecting for the next goal while working on one, and etc....That is why I'm trying so hard now, as I put so much effort into this the past few days to get them completed and I really want that kitty to go with the doggy I won in one of my collections.

So I'm just going to keep plugging along and hope I can get some more Silver or any Iron to lower my gem skip cost and finally have that adorable kitty. :)

Last night I was in the mine searching for iron, after being in there most of the evening (the air was getting pretty thick), so I decided to step out for a breather, and check my count. I bought the booth and was crazy enough to spend the $11.99 not once but TWO times thinking after recieving a bunch of the last few valentine crafting things, I would get a bunch of the first few....nope. I have 20 of the last 5 items and have been making cheese and the other things non stop and have gotten 2 roses in the last 2 days and only one envelope. no drops from the craft studio at all. You can not tell me this is not rigged.... I feel such an idiot for wasting good money on this game. Surely for over $30 I could have gotten one of the pixel creatures. :mad::mad: Oh and that's not to mention that I have so many silly rose lanterns and topiary trees and balloons and baskets.... and 3 ponds. Normally I wouldn't scoff at the necklaces but even with me constantly making wreathes in the kissing booth I'm still getting duplicates of what I've already got from turning in collections. I gave up on this quest early on. Kept forgetting there was even an event going on. Too difficult to get the items. Got stuck on the rises and only got 1. Finally gave up and handed in the collection and got a teddy gear. I think this is the worst quest I have done yet. I just didn't care and some days did not even check.

I really hate these random chance events.... I really don't think they're fair, because even if you spend real money doesn't guarantee you'll get a pet (except maybe this new cat quest). This was the first event I was really nervous I wouldn't get the pets because there were two, and with the bait/wreath twist. I completely gave up making valentines bait after the first day, it just completely wasn't worth it. If I didn't buy the booth this time I would of been out of luck. Now I feel bad reading about how many people didn't get pets yet, because I have three dogs and two cats.... Who just sit in my storage. I cant even use them, and I wish I could just give them to people :(

I did it! Whewwwwww! I have been stalking the newspaper and doing deliveries for hours and hours and hours trying to finish Will You Be Mine. I finally got a pick and amazingly got 1 iron. This leaves me needing only 3 more iron, or use 9 gems, and I happen to have 8 gems. Will have 9+ tomorrow after the train.

I guess it is safe for me to buy myself a kitty habitat now!

I am going to still try to get my last 3 irons, just to save the gems, but at least i know its possible without spending any money.

This quest has been a bad experience for me and lots of other people. Still nothing but decorations after god knows how many collections so took the plunge last night and got the Cupid dog from treehouse at a cost of 190 gems. I have been playing for over a year now and used to look forward to these quest but they have become too stressful. This time I chose not to do the daily quests as I decided to buy booth as I thought I would get a better chance with collections as you don't know what the daily quest end up giving you. I enjoy playing this game usually but this has left a bad taste in my mouth., and to add insult to injury it costs 33% more then it did last year as the price of 120 gems rose from ?2.99 to ?3.99. It's nearly over, so well done to all of you who got pets. The rest of us are already saving mining stuff for the next time which I presume will be at Easter in the hope of dogs and cats or maybe even ponies!!!

I am not surprised at all. The game is designed so that players don't get the pets and this particular event this has been more evident than before with some of the devious methods TL has used. All the time players don't have the pets, they will spend money on value packs and using gems to complete collections. If they get the pets, the income stops and this is not what TL wants.

Some players get the pets straight away and this provides the motivation for others to spend their money to complete collections but there will be people who no matter what they do or how much they spend, they will never get the prizes.

All the time people spend money on these lotteries of (rigged) chances, TL will make events like this. It's the newer players they get because players who have done this before, know they are wasting their money.


My advice for playing this game is if you want to spend money getting pets buy the ones in the market or the tree house game where you are guaranteed to get something you want.

Again there are many disappointed players this event and despite calls from us for more fairness in these events, TL continues with the lottery. Interestingly in Castle Story they have removed game content which some players got after a glitch. It's upset many people but TL claim they have done it for fairness to players. Hypocrisy!

I finished cat quest this morning - used 6 gems to complete bcause I did not want to spend my entire day today stalking for those last 2 iron. I plan to turn in a few collections today and I will let you know!

I guess you are right. I guess I am not completely surprised either. I have been playing TL games awhile and they pull these antics with all of their games. I guess what surprises me though is that they made BOTH pets nearly impossibly to get. I truly thought that with some hard work, people could at least walk away with the cat from the quest, and that the dog would be the item many didnt get because of bad luck w the collections. The way they designed that last quest with needing SO MANY nearly impossible mining items and those miserable wreaths was just the lowest of the low. I dont feel the quest portion of this event should have been luck based. (Low pick drop rate, followed by low iron drop rate, combined with horrid wreath success rate...) Keep the collection luck based - fine - but at least let people work hard and earn their cat with hard work.

After having this game for a year and a half this is tbe first quest I actively pursued. I didn't get a pet and I see some got both and some got multiples. I bought gems to get the kissing booth at half price. I'm dissappointed and probably won't do this again. I'll stick to helping others by selling quest stuff cheap in my shop. I have done a few events before this. This is the first one I have given up on. I Have a BIG suggestion for TL!!!!!! Its ok if everyone doesn't get a pet. What I didn't like was that after making the bait, I got tons of anchovies. YIEKS!!!!! At least give a wreath for every bait. Then its ok if we just get deco. At least its not wasted. This event reminded me of the Carnival event. I know I got tons of tiles. But I loved them. I didn't care for the bigger deco. I wish there was some tiles from this one. Here I liked the heart candles and I got only 3. Soooooooooooooooooooooooooo not bad event if u change what you get with the bait.

If they had let people know at the start of the event that the quests eventually led to a pet it would have been very different but they held that information back until people had sold all the stuff that they had made, not bothering to do the other quests and used up any wreaths they had by completing collections.

They tried to trick players at every step of the way. There's nothing nice about that. It just leaves you with an unpleasant, uneasy feeling about all of it.


As to the Valentine bait well that was just a deliberate con.


This is a great game and has huge potential but while TL continue to operate events like it will just drive players away and generate complaints.

Haven't been able to get wreaths since the first couple days of this event. I am also one of the many who has gotten zero pets which is frustrating.

I was playing the mine and every hit was very close and giving up the necklace today. Got two with one pick. I have definately had a bigger drop rate today. But my drop rate has always been good. Just the prizes sck. At least I did get the pup and kitty.

I've completely given up. The drop rate on the first four items in the past couple of days has been dismal at best.

I think I'm on the brink of insanity - I'm upset I didn't get the dog. Its hard to put so much time into something, and not to be pleased with the results. I feel like a failure - over a game? Really?

All of this over a dog that would have been put into storage like his friends. I really need to change my mindset and find something else to waste time with.

I have turned in 75 collections, will turn in a couple more shortly, and I have at least gotten the cat and dog, and a bunch of other stuff I don't know what to do with. Wish I could sell the extra stuff for actual coins!

Or get enough of one item to trade up. Like ten boxes trade up for one picnic, or something. Then ten picnics trade up for something else, until you're trading up for a pet. So we don't get stuck with a lot of garbage in the celler.

I agree. well of course the owners of Farm Story 2 can set up this game any way that they want. I can accept that. However, I would like to see detailed instructions for each new holiday event. This way we know what to expect and whether it is something that we want to pursue. this would significantly reduce the frustration level of the players

Well TL beat me with this one and I caved and gemmed past the Iron and Silver. I only had 4 Iron so to gem passed it cost 48 and I had 12 Silver and to gem passed that cost 9 gems.

In total I'm not complaining as getting the kitty for 57 gems is still way better then 240+ for those in the Market.

I put in a lot of effort to get all those goals done since TL announced that the kitty would be the prize for "Will Be Mine". I hadn't started the first one, with the Roses and Cheese, until they stated that. So.....Since that day I've done nothing but those quests to get this far, and to then have to gem this last bit....Well, it stinks and I feel beaten, but I also know how lucky I am that I was able to make it through as far as I did with starting it so late.

I purchased the booth at the discounted gem price of 80 gems and attempted a few more collections due to overabundance of other items in my collection and zero wreathes, and started turning them in. Of course, what did I get? The dog again. And now I feel nothing but guilty for getting him where others never got him once, I got him twice.

I don't feel guilty about the kitty as I busted my behind off doing those goals and even gemmed through the last, so I put in the effort and got my reward, but the dog.....Yeah, huge guilt factor there in getting the second one. I only turned in those collections in the rare hope I'd get the kitty and then I wouldn't have to gem through the "Will be mine", so when I got the dog I wasn't mad, I was sad as here I got something twice that others couldn't even get once. :(

I actually started buying the helper building for any event right after it is offered. I found that during the Easter event last year when it wasn't an option, I spent far too many gems on what I thought this could be the time in order to complete a collection to get that prized animal.

I think I can do another collection. If the dairy would drop, it would be great. I feel defeated to be stuck on a day one item.

Stormy is selling a shovel and if you get it through the paper, then go to his place, you can buy 2. That is what I just did and used them, got another necklace, and turned in a collection. I got the dog again. The guilt is building up now. :(

I really wish they had let us sell these collection items in the market, and not just for this set, but for all collections. So many people have tons of one item or a few items, and can't get the last item no matter how many moles, otters, butterflies, cupids they click on.

I finally got the puppy. I had all necessary items except the wreath. I realized crafting would take forever so I just used 27 of my gems and on the third try got the puppy. So excited!

Still confused on the new sauce maker. I've made both sauces but when I go to make a drink in the cafe it tells me I need to purchase items at 0 gems- since I have all the needed material. I saw this in the forum but don't know what was said about the glitch. I've shut down and restarted and that didn't fix it. Any ideas?

It might just be invisible, like mine was. I tapped where I had it and was able to store it. Then I could see it in my inventory. Go into edit mode and try tapping where it was. :)

The event is over so anything you were crafting is gone. The booth is invisible now so click on it and hold it down to store it. Not sure if/when it will become visible again.

4 days??? OMG, he was driving me crazy he was popping up all the time. Though he mostly only dropped me coins. I don't even have anything special on my farm, just the topiary that you get when you turn in your first collection and I'm always getting butterflies, moles, and now otters (just started getting them Sat when I levelled up).

SMH, I can't believe the difference in our games, honestly. I'd kick cupid over to your farm if I could, he's getting annoying. :(

After the Christmas fiasco I decided I would no longer battle to win items with FS2. I did play along some and bought the kissing booth when it went on sale. I knew I'd never get the cat or dog (and I didn't--just multiples of junk now taking up room in the cellar), but I thought I'd play casually and it would be cute to add to my carnival stuff. Now we can't even do that?

I understand TL needing to make money and have no problem with that. I'd even spend some if I saw the return rate is fair. I also understand the rationale of random reinforcement. I use it regularly. But TL is not effectively working the two together, and they are about to violate not only maintaining a good reinforcement schedule but not letting loyal people reach the point they don't give a ***n. Actually, that may be they already have violated the latter, based on the comments here.

This was my first event. I hope to be better prepared for the next one.

I really enjoy the events, although I do get kind of worked up about them. I usually end up spending a few dollars on the special craft building, and I think that usually helps. I did notice that the roses got very hard to come by toward the end, which made things tough, but I got my dog and cat from collections anyway, so I am happy about that. When they do a countdown with new things unlocking each day, the pattern so far has been that the last two days involve the pond and the mine. It is always worth hoarding bait and mining tools between events!

I can say I was ready to quit when I did not get the wiener dog at Halloween, despite massive play time and buying the cauldron. I stopped playing for two weeks. But the thing is, I feel like any way they try to get your money is fair. This is a free game, and that means the app people need a way to monetize it. Why else would they build the thing in the first place? It's not an act of charity! With the amount time I spend playing this game, I think it is worth $5 every so often for an enhanced experience, although the gem drop rate and the opportunity to earn them are very high on this game, so you never really HAVE to buy gems.

Don't feel guilty. I too, like everyone else, turned in dozens and dozens of collections and ended up with like 10 rose lanterns, several ponds etc and no pets. Then all of a sudden yesterday I turned in 3 collections -- and got three dogs. My last collection today before it ended gave me the cat.

Not my fault. No guilt whatsover. Just frustration that it has to be this way, and that because of TL's greed, items can't be traded!! They would never allow us to do that, because then we might end up getting the pets that way, rather than giving them all our money.

Have not complained until now, but this is ridiculous! How can Team Lava take something back that you paid for with gems, in my case full price!! I purchased the Kissing Booth, placed it on my farm and expect it to remain there even after the event is finished!

I also play Castle Story, where TL came in and removed an item they supposedly made a mistake on, making many players furious. I've played both games for several years and purchased many gem packages. I've fallen into lots of gem traps and wasted countless hours on this last event never to get the cute little dog. I think I've had enough!

Every item you put up for sale goes immediately in the newspaper, even if you don't promote it. Personally I don't think promotion makes any difference - it's just a gimmick to get people to spend gems.


You don't know if people are buying by accident. They may be buying just to get rid of the stuff, they only cost 3 coins, or to keep as souveneirs or because they don't realise they cannot be used any more.

Well, there it goes.
I started playing during the Valentine event last year. Everything was so pretty... The doves coming from the pink train station, the cows with hearts. I was looking forward to this year's event.
No special app. No cow paint (at least I still have 4 from last year.) And now despite paying for kissing booth and crafting and mining like mad - no dog or cat, and dozens of useless decorations. How many picnic blankets do they expect me to put on my farm wafting space? 5.
That does it for me and events and spending gems on things like the stupid kissing booth.

I know people have suggested time and again that there should be some way for the collection drop to give you one of each item before it starts repeating them. TL really ought to consider that.

At least there's a nice break of normal farming now... And given how last year's st. Patrick's day went? I'm not worried about that. Congrats to you pet winners! They are adorable.

Cupid is still dropping collection parts for me and the collection is still available to turn in for now too so if you get lucky you can turn in another collection or 2, just need to hope he drops what you need
