How so I use th? herbs and garlic that Keep filling up my pantry?

A woman with a yellow scarf keeps leaving me basil and garlic. It's filling up my pantry so there's no room for the ingredients I need to make food. Does this serve any other purpose except forcing me to spend money to keep expanding my pantry?
