I don't mind that the new appliances need completely different parts. It makes the game more challenging and takes longer to complete goals. If you have some decent neighbours, you can get the parts fairly easily anyway. For example, I'm fairly diligent with answering my neighbours' requests for parts, and they are the same for me. I was able to build 2 appliances within 30 minutes of sending out 20 requests. And then when the game resets, I will get another 20 parts requests approved, and possibly gifted a few more. I feel lucky to have good neighbours.

The only thing about getting new parts for goals, is I dont see the point to be gifting everyday screws, metalsheets (basic parts) if we are not using them anymore, it should be 1 basic and 1 new to complete the fountains and ovens.

Did everyone else get the 1st pic FROSTY FESTIVAL as an announcement letting u know the challenge had started? The only way I knew that the update was here was by 1. Looking at the Design Tab and seeing everything there and 2. By checking the Clipboard and finding the challenge posted there. I'm glad I looked or I might've not known for awhile about it being here. I've gotten used to either Loretta, Jean pierre or Helpful Hazel interrupting me doing whatever I'm doing, which is usually tipping. So I guess I was just waiting for that to happen again.

I also like using the new parts. I'm also happy that TL has rearranged the order of the parts so that we don't have to go all the way to the back of the parts to find them. I just wish they'd move the old challenge parts to the back after the challenge ended cuz I can just imagine the pile of parts we'll end up having to go thru just to get to the general parts. lol

TL rearranging the parts is a bone of contention for me. After a certain time period has passed, and you no longer want to gift the parts, you have to scroll a ways to get to the food, and since Hot Chocolate was already pretty far back, it's even farther back. Since some friends gift you what you gift them, it's a pain to scroll all the way to hot chocolate for the portion of friends that I want to receive hot chocolate from. It's more frequent lately to get just the first food item on the list (after the goals, I specify please no more parts, because I'm bursting with "normal" parts, and I've also been receiving parts from appliances that are no longer available, and the parts cannot be used again). People don't want to scroll through the list to get to the food items anymore.

Accept that not all of us have time to play this silly game of "request and wait!" Not all of us have neighbors who's only goal in life is to sit by the game and answer our every beck and call. So for some of us, this is quite frustrating and in some instances will not allow for the completion of the goal. Some of us have other responsibilities in life as well, and we're happier when we were able to gift basic parts and use them to build goal ovens. :-(
I admit that having to request parts does make the game more challenging, but at some point it goes from challenging to frustrating. I think they need to mix it up a bit. Catering to one "minority demographic" will only stand to alienate the greater majority. More folks have jobs and other responsibilities, then don't!

I saw on here that the goal had started. When I login to the game, I didn't get a pop up stating that it started. The Next time I login, I got the pop up message announcing the Frosty Festival, the 20% off the Fall items that are are about to be removed, the gems for expansion on sale, and to play the Castle game.

I am also pleased that the new parts are first on the list. Unfortunately, I have neighbors that send me Icicles, blue barrels, etc. gifts that I don't need and must decline. They don't take time to read my wall. A few neighbors are sending me basic parts during goal time....Even with 100+ nbrs. I always struggle to build goal appliance during goal time. Yes there is a delay sometimes with requested items, but it would be nice to get goal items instead of basic parts & cappuccino. When I complete a goal, I always post that I'm done and do not sent goal items. But I had a few neighbors who continued to send me Christmas Goals up until This Current goal! 😳

If you need better neighbors, then go get some. There are people all over this forum who are nice and helpful neighbors. Also it helps to
build relationships with people. If you become friends with your neighbors chances are they will be there for you while you are there for them.
And it will bring more happiness to your life.

Its also not always new parts for the challenges, there are plenty of challenges that have used almost all old parts. I also don't see creating new parts as catering to a minority, as trying to bring interest to the game. Certainly I don't want them to only create new parts, but I think we have
our fair share of both. If it becomes always new parts then I am sure enough people will complain to get it turned over. They are being very receptive to us now, and I think it is paying off for them and us. If you feel strongly enough about it, start a thread and see how much support you get. You never know.

FYG: usually when they say "BUY 1 table", it shows that u sdn't do this beforehand (like with wall lanterns this time).
when they say "HAVE 1 table", it means that yr inventory will count too :)

yes, this appliance is a real gift! :)

if u check economics box in the bottom of main post, u can see that mastering 3recipes will give us over 50K expirience!

comparing to previous appliances, this is huge advantage!

(for example, sultan fountain this summer, having same 1/3/6hrs recipes, gave only 10K experience when mastered)

I'm really annoyed right now. On one of my bakery accounts I built one goal oven and had a few dink machines making white hot cocoa, and I was about to level up. I go back a few hours later to serve my cake from the goal oven and I serve my drinks, then the screen says syncing. Next thing I see is a pop up saying I'm ready to build the new goal oven!!! My red velvet cocoas I had served HOURS ago were sitting ready to serve! I deleted the app and reinstalled it and it never synced back. It set me back almost 5 hours during which I would have leveled up. The funny thing is when I requested parts to see if the ones I requested hours ago even went through and they did! So why did my game rewind???

For those feeling frustrated about not getting enough parts to build appliances, just sharing that I normally only build two units of each appliance to complete goals, and I have never had problem getting the final prize. I don't want to spend too much of my cash buying appliances coz I'm trying really hard to save for those expensive expansions.

I only built 4 of the fountain cause they're pretty short recipes, so I just saved the parts and now I've 10 of the oven. XD But that's my limit though haha.

Well today, I was able to build 2 more winter ovens. I had to declined at least 20 gifts, hoping that the goal parts I need will come through. During non-goal times, I have faithful nbrs. Sending me Capp.(which I like). But now during this goal, those same nbrs. are sending me Chocolate Cake, Capp., & Brownies. It is like they don't want me to complete this goal.

As much as I didn't like about having to waste time to collect new parts, I highly appreciate TL's decision to reduce the food amt and to make other goal required items like ovens floors and walls to be relatively cheaper.

FYG: usually when they say "BUY 1 table", it shows that u sdn't do this beforehand (like with wall lanterns this time).
when they say "HAVE 1 table", it means that yr inventory will count too :)

Often with the wall paper you can by any wall paper and it will count since tables and chairs say have and not buy can you buy any tables/chairs and have them count? I'm not a fan of this goals tables in particular. Thanks!

4hrs recipe gives only $2 income per plate...

but still, this goal seems to be more profitable then usually...

if not to count additional ovens and decor we buy, when we master all recipes, the profit wd be +$552k +113k exp!

(not bad comparing to latest christmas quest which gave only $225k and 35k exp)

I wasn't very impressed with this new theme I don't find it attractive and I don't feel as excited to complete the goals :/ I'm hoping whatever is next is more appealing!! I play regularly and love this game. But this one just wasn't my taste I guess.

I really enjoyed the goal, except for the fact that Pierre looks like he's on something...lol I love the look of the new cakes and the high xp. My only complaint is that I feel like the goals are super short. It literally took me less than a week to complete it. The same goes for RS.

I am still working on both goals...about halfway done veggie stews in RS and finishing up thevsecond cakes in BS. I only built two fountains in each...two stoves in RS and three ovens in BS. Would guess the length of time it takes to complete a goal depends on the number of appliances you build.

Anyway depends on cooking time.
I build 4+6 ovens in RS and same for BS.
It took a week in RS to finish, since cooking time shorter.
But in BS it will take total 9 days.

Yeah...a winning streak of goal sets....I loved the Halloween and Christmas goals too...

What I can't understand is why parts for items no longer available are even listed. Irksome to say the least. Example: the Tea Kettle shows as an available appliance, the parts are available and I keep having them gifted to me; yet I am unable to buy it because in my menu it is listed as a goal item. Anyone have an answer?

The dragon scale and dragon tooth are for the mini dragon baker which is a floor decor and is still available.

Yes, they have released goal ovens before, after the goal had expired - mind you, it was 2 years after the expiration. The truffle maker and fruit chocolate dip appliances were the Feb 2012 goal ovens.

Yes, you have to participate in the goals while they are active to gain access to the appliances. For instance, the Winter Frost appliances were only available for the duration that these goals were active. Once the goal ends, the items are no longer available.

However, they do relist old appliances during the 5 Day Goals so there's always the possibility that you'll get another chance to access these appliances.
