Hi everyone, i just noticed a snap 2 day, 12 round tournament for a little yellow creature called 'Ampeater'. Could be wrong about the spelling though.

Anyhow, since its early morning here in Oz, there's just a day and a bit on the clock for me. (Not sure about others).

I don't think I will bother with this tournament. If I really want the creature it is much easier just to buy it later when it is offered in a deal. I didn't do the Yule mule tournament and don't regret it at all. My son missed out on the noelephant (he doesn't have gem creatures so it is nearly impossible for him to win tournaments) and he says he is going to skip this one too.

Since TL learns nothing and does nothing with the earlier complaints about the unfairness of a short tournament i am not going to try.
The time diffference between USA ans Europe give us europeans a big disadvantage in a 36 hours tournament.

TL, two days means 48 HOURS in a normal world.

What I do is using 4 gems to accelerate the battles (not to win), then I go to sleep and when I wake up I'm not too late... But you spend gems... I'm also in Europe.

Best of luck! The animal is pretty cute but I just don't have another tournament in me right now... especially not another super short one (as they are actually harder). I know winning means being serious about playing every single hour available... and I'm just not interested in going through that right now. I feel like the last tournament JUST ended. LMAO. They just want to see how seriously dumb people can be? I don't really get the rewards for breeding an animal... it's really nice if you happen to get it breeding normally, but why would you spend gems just to win back less gems?

I was actually trying to calculate the time schedule in my head, and it doesnt really match up.

The goal does run longer than the tournament. Right now my goal says 3 days, so there might be enough time to hatch it and meet the goal even if you win in the tournament in the last couple hours. Can't tell at this point how big a difference there is between the end of the tournament and the end of the goal.

We'll have to see if this is another egg that I'll store for a while (Assuming I can win the tournament, 2 losses and I am only on round 4).

My usual tournament woes -I cannot defeat a silly fallaby, even with a level 15 unicorn or 15 Steamtrunk. Sigh.

The last three tournaments have been exercises in futility. 7 defeats by the lowly fallaby. Bah humbug.

i actually had to reinstall my game because i got stuck on the round two rhino. i lost five rounds to that thing and it was just so fishy. once i reinstalled it, it was fine, but i've only just now progressed to round four. this glitch is the most game-breaking thing out of all the problems we have in this thing.

this tournament's gonna be really rough for me. looks like a good chunk of everyone else is having that kind of time too. good luck, guys.

I'm not sure I'd even call it a glitch - it could be just bad probability. It happens enough to multiple people each tournament that I think it's possible people are getting unlucky. Whatever works and gets you out of your rut, though! (I've done the reinstall&install trick before and went on to continue to lose the fight like 5x, so I wouldn't call it a cure-all.)

Round 10's magmacore isnt letting me through. Have used multiple frostfang lvl.14, griffin lvl.11 and sea horse lvl.11.

I refuse to speed up the tourney anymore with gems (have done a half-hour speed here and there)

Stuck on Iciclaw... I swear these things are rigged. There's no good reason a same-level super with type advantage shouldn't be able to beat a rare. The Ampeater isn't even that good looking a critter tbh, but there's still the compulsion to try to get it. Also, how is a '2 day' tournament less than 48hrs? Because this thing started LAST NIGHT and I wake up with 19 hours on the clock. Uh... that's not how time works, TL, try again.

Then again, I've also heard about people getting 'stuck' by the game on certain rounds and that deleting/reinstalling works, but I don't know.. Flash tournaments in general just seem excessively difficult - I managed with a bunch of supers to beat the Noelephant without a single Ultimate Attack but with the time constraints so tight on flash tourneys like this one, it feels like you have to pay to win, you know?

I'm sorry to hear that. Last flash-tournament I was stuck on the (steam trunk, I think?) for... 18 times? Re-installing didn't really do anything, since I proceeded to lose like 5 more times. This was near the end of the event, too, so I spent like 40 gems or so speeding through that and the other rounds I still had to do before thankfully winning and passing out.

I do agree that calling it "2-day" is ridiculous when it starts with 36h. I refuse to use gems on such early levels. It is just foolish.

I also refuse to use gems if that is the program design - to put a very large speed bump (brick wall?) in the line up every tournament with the express purpose of forcing gem expenditure.

Having a pop up is something a great deal of players have requested. It now comes up on the side of the playing field with a "gold cup" icon. Flash tournaments have always appeared on Fridays PST (Friday updates add flash tournaments, new creatures, new goals, etc.). Tuesday, midday PST, is when main tournaments usually start.

I have decided to attempt to defeat this level 7 fallaby -if for no other reason than to see if it is actually possible. I cannot prove a negative, but the defeat would prove a positive. The failure to defeat round 4 in this tournament will, at least psychologically, prove my point that the game is either rigged or grossly flawed.

Yes, yes it does. I'm almost ready to say that I won't be participating in any more flash tournaments. They are extremely unfair. I was stuck on one round for 14 tries in the last flash tournament... so basically, even starting RIGHT when the tournament started and setting hour timers I was unable to finish without spending gems.

I'm glad I chose to sit this one out, honestly. I do not need the stress.

Just completed the tournament with four losses. I still can't believe my run of luck in this one, 8 straight wins from round 4 to round 12. I used Santa's "Christmas" attack, mine's level 11. First hit crit, second hit strong. Can't remember if it took one more hit after that. Good luck!

I am certain the tournament wasn't active in my game when I shut down my Ipad last night. So I only had it this morning when there was about 22 hours left. The only reason I am certain is because the same thing happened last time and I assumed I hadn't been paying attention so Ive been extra careful to check since then.

Very well said, ready. Sadly, TL has proven in many ways that it has no interest whatsoever in treating all players equally, of giving everyone the same chances as everyone else, and this is just one of those ways. I'd start a thread about that but oh yeah, I did, the Big Picture thread, and they shut that down. In this as in other flash tournaments, where you live and what your waking hours are determines how many free chances you get. In other aspects of the game, we don't even know what determines the preferential treatment for some and not others - there is a quest for this tournament for 5 gems if you hatch the tourney prize in time - does everyone have the quest? Or is it like other quests (other quests for gems) that some players get and others do not and we are never told why some are given that preferential treatment? And it is my opinion too that the timer rounding up to the full day until it's under 24:00 is not lazy, but done on purpose.

I had sailed through this tournament until I got to this sucker. Just can't beat it. Been trying a lvl15 Cosmic Phoenix and a lvl10 Toucan. I have 2hrs before I need to go to bed (I am in UK so I don't actually get 2 days on this and it is now quarter past midnight here). To be honest, I think this is going to be the straw that breaks the camel's back with me in regard to this game. I am just sick to the back teeth now of the randomness and unfairness of it all. Really feels like TL are trying to force you to spend gems. If I do decide to delete this game then I will delete all the TL games I play and turn my back on TL once and for all.

5th loss on the magmacore. Man, what is this? I feel like I got stuck on the same round last time - a couple rounds before the end, but it took me something like 18(!!!) tries to win against the steam trunk last time. I really envy people who seem to have a decently easy ride to the finish line because I have not experienced that yet. I always use Dark/Fire against gem animals. I used a level 15 Cosmic Phoenix to defeat the Citrine Peregrin. I was lucky enough to beat it on the first try.

That is the randomness/unfairness I am talking about. How come you beat it 1st go yet I have been stuck for most of the day using the exact same animal to try and beat the Peregrine and can't beat it? Not having a go at you, congrats for beating it. Just wish I had your luck. Then again, the game shouldn't be down to luck - I can play Bingo or Slots if I want to play a game based on luck.

I completely agree. These flash tournaments are really short and it's hard to win without using gems. The Yule Mule made me so mad, each round is rigged and it's difficult to beat. I really want this Ampeater but I'm not sure if I'll succeed in getting it. I also really hope that TL will makes these flash tournaments longer, preferably 48 like you said and what most players are wishing for.

I always use Dark/Fire against gem animals. I used a level 15 Cosmic Phoenix to defeat the Citrine Peregrin. I was lucky enough to beat it on the first try.

Your welcome, although it seems you were already on the right track. I used a level 15 Pumpkin Panda to defeat the Ampeater. It took me two tries. It was a hilarious battle of the separated head of the Panda vs. the long tongue of the Ampeater.

I don't really have issues with the 6 day tournaments, but these flash tournaments are awful. I'm thinking I won't be trying any of these flash tournaments again unless I really love the animal. I truly believe they are rigged and they almost REQUIRE the spending of gems. Plus they are unfair to European players and deliberately deceitful about how long they last. If they gave 48 actual hours, I would feel differently and would start playing them again.

I said it after the Yule Moose tournament and I will say it again. If you spend a lot of gems winning this tournament, TL is going to keep doing this to us. I fully agree with you. I also hate these flash tournaments. I guess, they did this one to give the players another opportunity to collect some more presents for the Christmas event.

I fully agree with what you've said about spending gems on these short tournaments. I stopped trying for the Yule Mule in the last flash tournament, when there was time for another free try, because I was completely fed-up with that tournament. And even though I liked the design of the Yule Mule, I refused to speed up the tournament with gems or use them for an ultimate hit. I didn't want to support how TL ran that tournament. I also didn't buy the animal when it went on sale.

The more I see how TL runs this game, the more I dislike this company. It's just a matter of time, before I finally stop playing this silly game. I also suffered from constant roll-backs back on December the 26th and because of these awful rollbacks and because of some rollbacks on a rollback when planting, I lost 3 gems due to TL's horrible food gem tap trap. Also I'm sure that a pop-up advertised that the Christmas creatures would be available until January 4th, when instead they got removed yesterday. So I feel deceived.

This and the removal of forum comments that TL doesn't like and the built-in gem traps add-up until I'll be completely fed-up and stop playing. Just know TL, you can remove unwanted comments in this forum, but remember that each player might talk outside of this forum about your games and there you won't be able to censor them. Whenever I will mention your game, I will talk about those bad aspects of your game and your company. And what's with the new aawful game suggestion po-ups that annoy me whenever I visit neighbours? As an iOS device player I wouln't receive any gem rewards for playing other games of TL, so I won't start playing them. It would only get me one thing: more crappy advertisement stuff from you. That's really the last thing I want! I surely won't spend any real money on your game and will never play another game of your company!

I won the tournament earlier in the day without using any gems. Egg scheduled to hatch in 17 1/2 hours and my goal still says I have 2 days ( meaning 24 + hours) to complete. So it is possible to win the goal without using any gems.

I completely agree, it's really annoying how unfair TL is and I'm kind of surprised that I still play FFS and DS. The games are fun and enjoyable, but when it comes to tournaments and gems it gets extremely unfair to players. These flash tournaments are one of the most stressful things about FFS. I hate how they don't even last two days. I'm having to stay up later than usual just to try and beat and win the Ampeater. If I don't get it I'll have wasted all my time on this thing all for nothing.

Im trying to use the chart given on page 1 & zen's colour guide that was re-posted on pg 3 of this thread. Its not that I dont appreciate the help. I think we can all agree in these flash tourneys, every try is important. I was a little disappointed to find that when i used the chart for the 11th round, i ended up with weak attack. Looking over zen's colour chart, i think round 11 has an error, but im not so great at all this so i thought id run it by u guys as experts. Shouldnt round 11 say treasure or dark with earth, electric or fire as top choice? Or is my understanding lacking? And should it not also include the skyger?

Either-or. Theoretically the Treasure animal should be better because it has one element strong over Citrine while also being ultra rare. A super rare dark-earth would be strong with dark and neutral with earth (earth strong to electric but weak to gem). Dark-fire is also strong dark, neutral fire, but fire is purely neutral (not strong to one and weak to the other like earth). Dark-electric should be as well. Dark-water and dark-nature are both weaker choices because water is weak to electric and nature is weak to gem.

Of course the level of your animal also plays a factor, but levels being equal, treasure animal should be the best choice, with dark attack of dark-earth, dark-fire, and dark-electric all being equal second choices. If your dark animal is a higher level I'd use that instead. We don't really know whether dark-earth (strong, strong, weak) is better or worse than dark-fire (strong, neutral) because we don't know exactly how the game calculates the odds, but theoretically they should be equal choices.

After some tournaments using the Reindeer I feel like the Holiday attack is neutral against fire, but strong against the treasure and water element. I've used it several times successfully against water-nature animals (with the Holiday attack) and against dark-nature animals (but then using fire attacks). But of course, all of this is totally random.

2) you totally do get gems from those games. I thought the same exact thing as you for a long time... Will explain in more detail tomorrow.
3) please always share your results without ultra rare gem animals! Those results are actually more important for the community because players without gem animals need more help choosing their fighters than those that do have them.

I won the tournament earlier in the day without using any gems. Egg scheduled to hatch in 17 1/2 hours and my goal still says I have 2 days ( meaning 24 + hours) to complete. So it is possible to win the goal without using any gems.

Either-or. Theoretically the Treasure animal should be better because it has one element strong over Citrine while also being ultra rare. A super rare dark-earth would be strong with dark and neutral with earth (earth strong to electric but weak to gem). Dark-fire is also strong dark, neutral fire, but fire is purely neutral (not strong to one and weak to the other like earth). Dark-electric should be as well. Dark-water and dark-nature are both weaker choices because water is weak to electric and nature is weak to gem.

Of course the level of your animal also plays a factor, but levels being equal, treasure animal should be the best choice, with dark attack of dark-earth, dark-fire, and dark-electric all being equal second choices. If your dark animal is a higher level I'd use that instead. We don't really know whether dark-earth (strong, strong, weak) is better or worse than dark-fire (strong, neutral) because we don't know exactly how the game calculates the odds, but theoretically they should be equal choices.

Im trying to use the chart given on page 1 & zen's colour guide that was re-posted on pg 3 of this thread. Its not that I dont appreciate the help. I think we can all agree in these flash tourneys, every try is important. I was a little disappointed to find that when i used the chart for the 11th round, i ended up with weak attack. Looking over zen's colour chart, i think round 11 has an error, but im not so great at all this so i thought id run it by u guys as experts. Shouldnt round 11 say treasure or dark with earth, electric or fire as top choice? Or is my understanding lacking? And should it not also include the skyger?

I guess Skyger has same issue in reverse as treasure. Ranks lower than dark with neutral because of rarity.

This has been my worst experience with tournament
I was stuck at level 6 .. 6 times
Then toucan 5 times then 6 more time when i used gems to speed up
Then i had to speed last few rounds
Last round lost 3 times
Total 35 gems that i saved
Not spending money with unfair timming of tounment
36 hour is actually only less than a day here
With having to work too make it hard to log in

I just appreciate that no new animlas as well
And new design even if its not that cute

My final count:
Lost 32 times in a 36 hours tournament. 14 times alone on last round.
Had to use over 60 gems to speed through the failures of last round.
So my odds on this game are pretty darn bad.
It's all good though bc that's when you know it's time to move on and drop playing it !!

This is the worst one I've played so far. I had to speed up the swift, then got stuck at Toucan, and Citrine. I used the most gems this time around and used the ultimate twice to get the creature. It's a lot less than buying it, but if feel as if they purposely did it to get people to spend money.

Totally unfair yet again, I have got to the point now that I don't bother with this stupid flash tournaments. Living in Europe they are just impossible to complete....as others have said the clock means nothing...

21 losses, 12 wins. Neither this nor the other flash tournament I've played (or have I played more than 2? can't remember) have been particularly kind to me. There's no real rhyme-or-reason to who ends up getting stuck on various animals (last time I got stuck on one thing for 18 tries!!) and I couldn't complete this without speeding. (That said, I haven't spent any money since I joined and bought the unicorn on thanksgiving. If I had to buy my own gems to speed through this, I definitely wouldn't have.)

I see. Well, there are 18 hrs left on the timer, I have a planter on the nest and it needs 22 hrs to hatch. I won't be getting the gems for it. Wish I had known before.

Those of you that felt this tournament was totally unfair and designed to force you to spend gems... It was! You don't have to stop playing the game, just stop playing flash tournaments! They are around for such short time that you won't even notice you're missing something, and the animal prizes have mostly all been duplicates of others with the same elements that already exist. For this one, if you need the electric-earth super rare, you can win the Thorilla in the battlegrounds. They're usually like this.

If you think flash tournaments are unfair and stressful, stop playing them! Don't even start. That's the only way we have to show TL that they need to fix this.

Ugh. I had high hopes and a plan! I worked both days; but I calculated the timing and figured I could play all twelve levels before and after work and during regular breaks. That went out the window when I ran out the door and left my device at home! Pooh! Pizza Guts!

After I got home I had 1 hr and 5 mins left to win five levels. Yes I could have speeded with gems, but decided that was a slippery slope I couldn't afford....I speeded on a previous flash, spent the gems and ended up using ultimate hitting so as to make the loss worth it. I did want the ampeater. Maybe they will re offer some of these tournament animals in future events rather than just outright purchase offers.....Hint hint

But congrats to all of you who made it through! Yay! That had to be effort!

I fully agree with you. I also hate these flash tournaments. I guess, they did this one to give the players another opportunity to collect some more presents for the Christmas event.

I fully agree with what you've said about spending gems on these short tournaments. I stopped trying for the Yule Mule in the last flash tournament, when there was time for another free try, because I was completely fed-up with that tournament. And even though I liked the design of the Yule Mule, I refused to speed up the tournament with gems or use them for an ultimate hit. I didn't want to support how TL ran that tournament. I also didn't buy the animal when it went on sale.

The more I see how TL runs this game, the more I dislike this company. It's just a matter of time, before I finally stop playing this silly game. I also suffered from constant roll-backs back on December the 26th and because of these awful rollbacks and because of some rollbacks on a rollback when planting, I lost 3 gems due to TL's horrible food gem tap trap. Also I'm sure that a pop-up advertised that the Christmas creatures would be available until January 4th, when instead they got removed yesterday. So I feel deceived.

This and the removal of forum comments that TL doesn't like and the built-in gem traps add-up until I'll be completely fed-up and stop playing. Just know TL, you can remove unwanted comments in this forum, but remember that each player might talk outside of this forum about your games and there you won't be able to censor them. Whenever I will mention your game, I will talk about those bad aspects of your game and your company. And what's with the new aawful game suggestion po-ups that annoy me whenever I visit neighbours? As an iOS device player I wouln't receive any gem rewards for playing other games of TL, so I won't start playing them. It would only get me one thing: more crappy advertisement stuff from you. That's really the last thing I want! I surely won't spend any real money on your game and will never play another game of your company!

I have found my best luck against toucan is by using a super rare green/red creature - present pheasant or Vinotaur. (Nature crits)

I have ****ed it with santa claws also but green/red super rare just always seems to work best for me.

Sadly, I zoomed through the first ten rounds only to get stuck on the Citrine Peregrin. I battled up to the last minute, but no dice.

I'll definitely be keeping the combos and advice from this (my first tournament I could reasonably compete in) for future use! (Exeot any that used gem or crystal animals, haven't bred any of those yet)

Did anyone try the Christmas attack on the Citrine Peregrin this tournament? We have figured out that the element is strong vs. water, and neutral vs. everything else... but have not found out if it is strong, neutral or weak vs. gem (citrine, unicorn, etc.)
