How to unlock houses?

I'm on Connecticut Avenue, with 24/24 collection but only on the 3rd house.

So how do we get more houses? I read FAQ in game but there are no mentions on houses.

Play and earn more experience in the Property to earn more houses for each one. Even if you already had all 24 Collections for Connecticut Avenue, continue playing this Property to get more houses. You'll see your progress bar towards each house above the "GO" button before entering the Property to play.

What do the extra houses and hotels give us after completing collection?

When you complete a Collection, you increase the amount of dice you get from the Daily Bonus.

I finished the collection for Vine Street days ago and have stayed on Vine Street to get all the houses but it's taking ages and I still have 2 to get.
Besides 1 gem for each house is there any other benefit given?

Nope, there's no other reward other than 1 Gem per house/hotel.
