not getting the food unlockables

Hey. I've had been noticing that when I level up. I unlock options to make new foods. But the problem is I can't make some of the options they give me. They don't show up on my cook book. I go to neighbors and see them able to make foods that I can even at a lower level. Can someone help?

You do realise that different foods cook on different appliances, dont you? The stove, oven and grill all have their own cookbook.

Same thing is happening with me! If I reinstall the app will I loose everything?
