I used 80 Gems to finish the parts needed to open the plot next to the well. I click on the stupid thing and was dumbfounded by the amount maps needed. I don't gripe about much with this game, or anything at all really, but if there is one thing that irks me and makes me want to check in less and less, it's lack of maps and the amount needed to expand.

It's outrageous. And selling four of each map for 4.99 isn't working either. Give me 10 of each and I'll think about it.

I always have more maps than anything else, but am always short on the brown tag things. I used to never get the white certificates but I've gotten a ton of them in the last day or two. Still, even if I spend days trolling for parts in the newspaper it'll be months at best before I can expand to the well. I might be willing to spend $5 of real money for 10 of each part, too... but 4? No thanks. That won't even get me NEXT TO the well!

This sounds even worse than the hot air balloon! At leat with the balloon, you don't need to clear plots to get to it, and the number of maps, permits and deeds isn't TOO unreasonable. And even so, it's so difficult to earn enough parts. I play every day and even though I'm on level 47, I only have TWO deeds from my last expansion! (The white papers). It's so frustrating. I see other farms at my level where they have cleared every single plot. How do they do it? I can't imagine spending that much real money on expansion papers even if I wanted to - it would cost thousands of dollars! Sorry to vent, but I enjoy this game and it seems like TL is only thinking up ways to make it more and more difficult to play. Even their current offer of 4 papers each for $4.99 won't get me anywhere NEAR the well much less into it. So disappointed. Guess I'll have to chalk this up to another feature I won't be unlocking. :(

The very fact that you need to use iron ore to make the coins tells me that it is not worth expanding to.

That's the idea to get you to spend REAL money and 4.99 is not real money try $20 or $30.

That's the idea to get you to spend REAL money and 4.99 is not real money try $20 or $30.

When I say "real money" I just mean actual currency, not virtual coins or gems. I understand that the whole purpose of the game is to make money - they are a business, they have to make money! It's just with games like this, unless I suddenly am flush with unlimited cash, I'm highly unlikely to ever spend $20 or $30 at once. I'll happily spend $60 or $70 or more over the course of a year $2 to $5 at a time, but not all at once. Maybe $10 if it's a great sale on something I feel I really, really want (like a special pet). Maybe.

Small amounts of money at a time feel like helping things along, while things that would truly require a larger amount at once feel like a money grab. The prizes in the treehouse feel like a money grab, for example, since it's truly impossible to get them without spending gems.

They do get "real money" from me and will continue to do so, but it's in a trickle over the course of time.

My thoughts too amyangel96. I would like to be able to put my gems into a safer place eg the cellar as I loose many by accidental taps, especially when grandbub feeds the animals lol. Think if I could safe guard them better I would be more inclined to purchase. Like you I trickle feed to the game knowing it is a business for TL and gives hours of pleasure and dare I say it..frustration too lol..not impressed with the wishing well. Happy holidays to all

I agree. This is just another trick to slow players down in the game by using up papers and coins for no return.

I have just collect 2 pet food worth 49 coins and 1 iron worth 70 coins. The cost to make the silver coin is 140 coins.

I think I might just sell the coins and stop throwing them into the well. It's the easiest item to craft in the jewel maker and sells for $175 but the downside is it takes 6 hours to make.
Really it should sell for more or at least grant decent wishes.

I'm at level 60 and wished I didn't expand there. It's an oversized, overpriced and totally useless well. Even as an decoration item, it's out of proportion and bigger than the buildings. If I could store it, it would be the first thing that goes into my cellar.

Every time TL comes up with something new it turns out to be a bust. I purchased a few coins, made a few and for a wishing well it was clueless! There are needs which TL can easily program in to make it fun but they do not go there. I am trying to make my farm fun and eye appealing, so I was motivated to get it and improve the look of my farm, much as I did for the hot air balloon...to eliminate an eyesore. A TOTAL WASTE OF TIMEAS WE SELL FOR LOW PRICES AND GET JUNK WHICH EITHER DOES NOT SELL IN YEARS GONE PAST OR SOMETHING FOR THE CELLAR! No other way to put it! I will not do the water garden as it does not look worth the effort and is an eyesore I can live with. AN OPTION SHOULD BE TO ALLOW US TO BUY IT AND FILL IT IN FOR SPACE TO FARM ON OR EVEN SHOW OFF OUR CELLAR TREASURES WHICH HAVE NO ROON TO PROPERLY BE DISPLAYED! Is that to much to ask?

I WISH that the wishing well would give items that rarely drop......like land expansion parts or paint or hammers, planks, nails, etc. Then it might be worth expanding there and taking 1 iron and 1 silver and 6 HOURS to make a single coin and then another 4 HOURS for the wish to be granted in the well. 10 HOURS to craft everything plus resources should net you more than items that you can easily craft in less than 3 hours.

100% agree. I wished I'd use all the maps & tools to expand elsewhere rather than wishing well. Even though I do get items such as necklace & belt, other times I also get animal feed & collection album items.

I'd rather not waste tools to get iron & instead use them in mining for train orders. I only drop coin in wishing well when other farmers selling coins on the market.

I just keep thinking in the back of my mind that if I keep throwing coins into the well that sooner or later I'll get some rare ultra cool reward. Like maybe a pet or decoration like you'd find in Piper's treehouse. I really want TL to tell us exactly what items or categories are possible to get from the well. If it is possible to get the high dollar items it might not be so bad after all.

same goes here. i am level 35 and the wishing well is the last expansion of "special things" or "tricks" TL has made. lol. i have been playing this game for 2 years since the first time it popped up on my dragon story newsfeed. i got 30 gold by purchasing this game. then i found my self leaving my 96 level dragon story and stuck on my farm. i have never ever wasted my real dollars for any game i am playing, i just hope to my luck. i often see the deeds maps and white papers on the market and grab them as fast as i can before the others do. and do the fishing and mining as many as i can to collect not only the main items but also the support tools to upgrade my barn and silo, as well as my buildings. i manage my playing time, one week selling things, any thing, and another week completing the plane request.
i stopped completing the balloon request after my 45 tickets redeemed with a silly red balloon chair (you can see it near my pond) i thought it would be a cat or dog or even 25 gems.
with that plan, i tend to get 30k to 35k per week and i manage my self to spend not more than 5k to shop at the market. i buy only the expansion needs and tools and some stuff while keep selling things that i don't think i need them. so within the "non-selling week" i lost no coins, see?
i wish everyone is as lucky as i am without spending real money. but i did also loose coins for completing silly balloon requests, gosh...
and one important question is, should i buy the wishing well or not???
i rarely buy expansion land because i think i have to purchase the pond, the forest, the balloon, the alpaca, the the water garden, and the well first.
and one more, to save more coins, i don't buy the same building, i had never buy the same building twice. i tend to upgrade what's been on my farm. by doing so, i don't wast the space on my farm as well as my coins. if you consider my planning, you may try it and see the difference. use your intuition, what's the highest demand that day or week and try to support the market.
ah one more again, do not open the stormie trade before you buy all of them on the newsfeed. by doing so, you can earn double of the purchasing items, cheaper and double, what else do you need?
i think i still have more suggestion but i am tired typing, i am using my old old old apple 4 device to play and browse, i just love this old device, lol, i have an android device though, but i don't think i will play something with it.
i tapped and run, rarely leaving comments, and if i forget to tap, don't worry because i shop a lot, you can add me and let's be friend. see ya!!

Very disappointed that I wasted so many expansion parts on the wishing well. So far, I have gotten a bag of corn, and a food item. You have to use one iron and one silver to craft the coin. I think the rewards should be expansion parts and building parts. Food items we can make much simpler.

The Wishing Well is essentially a game of chance. Yes, sometimes it gives back items we really have no use for because we can make them ourselves...but sometimes they give us hard-to-get items. A couple of times I have gotten back decorations that are no longer available for sale, as well as tools and multi-stage crafting items (though the latter have been very, very rare occurrences).

For what it's worth, I only use my Wishing Well when I buy the coins from the newspaper or a neighbor's (or random user's) side shop. Otherwise, it sits unused.

I again, have bought something I don't particularly need yet (the coins for the wishing well) I found 10 of them a week and a half ago, or so.

Is the wishing well worth expanding to at all? I've got roughly almost 90k coins, though I need at least 3 or so expansions to get it,

I like to decorate! I like decorations more than I do any items worth of particular high value.

Out of the two, the well and the air balloon, where should I expand to? I am hearing that you can possibly get decorations from the both of them. Which I like most.

I like the purple colour to the wishing well, and it can be used (slightly) as a decorative piece itself, which I fully intend to make use out of, but is it worth expanding to? I know the drops are random, but I do like the idea of possibly earning decorations.

Are the decorations worth it at all - if you can win them?

See my previous post (right before yours) to see what the Wishing Well might give out. If you have the coins, you may as well expand to it. Decorations are not my priority, but occasionally I have been fortunate and received the items I needed for an order...or received a mining tool when I was running low.

Given the options, I would suggest expanding to the Balloon Dock first. Not because of the possible decorations--though that seems to be your primary interest--and also not because you can also win some pets from the Balloon. I would choose the Balloon Dock because, during events that fill up our Barns and Silos, sometimes--not always, but sometimes--the Balloon provides an opportunity to drastically drain our inventory without simply discarding the items--and as your level increases, that may become a major issue during events. Moreover, you can send off large quantities at once, instead of being limited to only 10 at a time.

Both have their uses, both have their drawbacks, and in the end, you will need to decide which is more easily obtained (the number of expansions needed, for example).

I did expand to the air balloon first, but I'm now also expanded to the well now.

So nice! I have 200,000 coins still - and when I get to selling in the next week or not much after, I'll rebuild up my profit again.

Anyway.

Very nice! I hope to hopefully have a fully expanded farm by the end of the year. Only thing that may set me back in mostly the coins.

But regardless, I'm happy with my well now. I just put a coin in it, hopefully something good comes out of it in the next few hours.

You know, I'm glad I didn't purchase the well in hopes of a rare or good item.

I just got a collectible (the boot/shoe) for the mole collection. Disappointed but not surprised, if I have to admit.

As I said, it's random. Who knows what your other coins will achieve?

Good point. I like using the well as a decoration, so I'm not upset too much over it. Hopefully future coins I use on it, will bring it better prizes! But if not, that is fine. :)

After complaining a bit when I first got the well, I realise now that it can be a good perk in itself.

I've gotten many things from it, though not a decoration yet.

I've gotten 2 things that only higher levels can get and make.

In the collections gallery, this is one of the items needed to turn in the Otter collection. This is a permanent collection where you can win up to 10 Salmon or tuna.

Otter collection? I don't have one. When does it appear?

Otters appear in the river, starting at level 35 on iOS only.

I'm not level 35 yet (only lvl 29) so that explains it. As I have iOS.

Anyway, at least I have a slight head start to getting that collection filled.

Wonder what my next prize will be, will throw more coins in the well tomorrow.
