The muticolor triangle is the Gemstone type. Since you are facing a Birthstone or a Topaz, with that: The only commom color in the guide it's Black.

Gemstone use: Diamond, Black, Dino avoid: Green, Blue, Pink
Yellow use: Pink, Black, Cosmic, Zodiac avoid: Red, Blue, Gold

I don't follow this guide, I put a Diamond or a Champion type, most of the times, this guide for me doesn't work.

TL needs to get rid of this diamond for me. I defeated him in the tournament & I haven't battled since now for this dragon & I can't defeat him :( I have no diamond/diamond hybrid & just have my berserker dragon & steelflare dragon. Has anyone tried them against diamond?

Some people have luck to have but after 7days it expires and you have to recharge for 150 gold for 7 days. I have it also and i am on ipad.

Lol, same here, steelflare is at 8, spartan at 9. While deciding which one to epic first, I've already fed someone else!

What do you plant?

I have 6 farms. (One day, I'll buy the 7th farm.) On a good day, when the timing works out right, I get 3-5 hours and 1-8 hour crop in. That gets 1000 apples per farm. Many days, I end up with 2-8 hours, a 5 hour and maybe 2-1 hours. That gets more like 950 or so per farm and is a little more work. Depending on cash flow, I may plant the expensive 5 hour crop in the two upgraded farms and add another 1100 apples for the day. So depending on the day, I get between 5500 and 7000 apples. Or 1 feeding of a level 8 Champion. And I have the farms running almost 24 hours a day.

I'm pretty sure I never earn 1000 a day without mining, that's great! Thanks for the tip - I just planted 7 scalypears (the 20hr ones) for the first time in ages because it helps me with items for the world event, when it's over I'll use your strategy.

I am trying to level up my final gold dragon along with a couple of extra champs and I find that the quickest way to build up food if you are sitting watching TV of an evening is to plant the 10 min crops for a couple of hours. With 7 farms that gives you 4200 crops an hour. I do this in the evening when I am waiting to place my night time crops and the loss towards the community goal is minimal.

I'm surprised at hearing you ultimated. I've not had to do that during these battles in between tournaments. I usually don't get those type of oponents. Most times I just stay comsistent with what I use until the opponent falls.

Yikes! That's hard! Can't understand the logic of the choices that are made for each person's island.

Thanks for your advice. I don't have Troll, tried Moon lv 9 but still no luck. I sped up and Barbarian took Onyx out :) Total 12 tried for this dragon, so stupid!

And the surprising is, one hour later, I get Onyx 12. Barbarian just lost. It's time for bed now (11pm) and I will face this terrible dragon tomorrow:)

call me dumb, but i just lost twice to a lower-level polar-bear looking dragon with a snowflake icon. what's that type, and what can beat it? i don't see anything it could be on the front page. i've been slow going with leveling anything to epic, and the closest decent thing I've got besides fire, forest, and air at 10 is a level 9 super rare hammerhead and that's pure water. i'm working on leveling him to epic but holy cow is it normal to have 12.5k feeding costs to epic? because i might just drop the game for that. o-o

I managed to have a little luck with the tournament before (though I didn't manage to win it since i didn't have enough gold to skip anything) and got in the 20s i think but this is ****ing me! :') i don't even know how long i have for the battlecaster dragon... i'm at 43 horns out of willpower and sheer dumb luck, but i need to know how much longer i have and whether i need to burn what little saved gold i have for this one. it'd be nice to have a decent dragon for tournaments.

I went back and looked - good golly you're right! It wasn't.

@panpanpandy - that is one of the Ice Age/Abonimable/Blizzard dragons, you breed them on the Artic Isles, and they're weak against Champions if you have one. If you don't, it's rather hit or miss I'm afraid.

Anyone know how much longer this is available? Wish they had a timer on these limited dragons. I'm almost there and wanted to make sure I get it in time. If I remember right these crafted champions stick around for quite a while... in line with the mining ones it seems. So what 3 or 4 weeks they are available? Started on the 5th and we are almost 2 weeks in.

For anyone struggling with tournaments, etc. go HARD on the tournaments. Battle as often as you can and you'll get it. Once you get a champion dragon and level it to 10 you are golden. The only dragons I have issues with are the diamond ones as I don't have a diamond dragon yet (been playing for months and can't seem to get the Diamond dragon). You'll still win eventually against the diamond ones even if it takes 7 or 8 tries. I look up the best matches for opponents in battle arena on Dragon Story Wiki. I've leveled some of the dragons I see most on the best match-ups winning % (Acrobat, Lightning, Headless, Aether I have at lvl 10 and along with my Spartan 10 and Highland 9 I really don't have much issue beating anything but diamonds as those combined give me a +50% winning % on most opponents). Working on Black Rose to 10 next.

How did you get your Diamond? I've seen people suggest Aether and Fairy a lot but I've tried that many times with no luck. Tried all sorts of combos that contribute 4 types to the pool. Just no luck whatsoever. I'm of the opinion that it may be a little bit more than random. I think the percentages are different on breeding depending on what you use but its just a theory... unless of course Storm8 has confirmed the random nature of it. I try to use the combos that produce the least number of dragons for the one I'm after but for Diamond, there are too many combos to take the time to scout out. If anyone knows the combo that produces the least number of dragons that includes Diamond, let us know.

I know I'm not Pern, but many of my neighbours and myself have got it using 5/6 colours. I got mine with familiar x scarecrow. I also remember one of my neighbours getting one with lacewing x archangel. Good luck!

I tossed Skeleton and Frightmare together since they made a five-color combo and I didn't have most of the dragons people listed as ones they had bred it with. I took a chance on five colors that gave me a bajillion options of rares and super rares I didn't have already since I am still so new to the game.

Thanks for the info Pern. I've got neither of those but thanks for the info anyway. Consider yourself lucky! Diamond is the hardest to get... and it unlocks so many other dragons... all of which are essential to battle arena.

I just got another lvl 13 Quetzal Dragon draw for the second time in 2-3 days!! Dang it! He's already cut clean through my go to dragons for Battle Arena. Working on my 5th attempt at him today already. Any of those diamond pool dragons I struggle with. My top winning %'s according to Dragon Story Wiki are only like 25% on most of the lvl 13+ diamond pool dragons... I don't know how I've beat the tournament the last two times for Spartan and Highland without using ultimate attack. I got really lucky on several 10% winning % on the lvl 18+ diamonds in those tourneys. Nothing better than watching the health bar go way down on a crit for the end dragons in those tournaments. Fist pump!

Congrats on your first Champion! Yes, after crafting the dragon, you will receive an egg that you will need to hatch. You will need to purchase a Champions habitat with a 24 hours wait.

well they usually stay 4 weeks from date so be gone by jan 5th , prob best level a few to epic in the mean time , i struggled at 1st at that level and admit to ulitmate attacking 5 of them using gold in the mini tournys they had. this will prob throw some dragons that wont go down with out u may have at min , feel free to add this acc or my slowly evolving android acc byteme77

5 of the last 6 arena dragons were released on a Friday, early in the month, so to be on the safe side, I would assume Jan 2nd for the next new arena dragon. However, to keep things from being too predictable, the one in November was released on Election Day here in the States (Tues), so we could be looking at Jan 6th or even the following Friday.

As for the arena, based on my recent experience, (talking like a veteran here, with all of 3 tournaments under my belt), buy your Healing Spa and play in the Arena some. Those first dragons are low level, gives you a chance to figure out what you are doing and to win a few battles. The guide on the very first post here in this thread helps. It actually makes sense after a while. Nothing really to lose trying, just don't expect to get 99 parts this go around.

My advice to all players, just starting in the tournaments: look on line to he whole list of opponents in that particular tournament. Then calculate ahead what your chances are. Presume it will take you 11 hours to do 10 90% rounds, and atleast 15 hour to do 1 10% round. Calculate if you have enough time to beat every round within time (you probably won't).

Then, look at your gold: if you skipp the 10% rounds, costing you 30 gold per round, do you have enough money and time to finish te tournament in time for sure?

If so: use this tacticus when there's a Champion-dragon to win in the tournament.

Once you have a Champion, your tournaments will get way easier! This is the best gold-investment you can do, as I see it.

So never skip an offer to install some other game (I got 4 of them in the last two days), the follow up quest (which is always really small) give you atleast 30 gold, and sometimes there is more gold to be made with playing that game. And who knows, you might like it :) I'm playing 10 TL games...

Thanks. I made my own luck with 12 golds. I just didn't need the stress with 2 horns to go. There's no timer on Battlecaster yet, though. If it went until Friday, that would be really long!

Lip, use any champions you have. Champions are good against literally every type except for: Metal, Olympus, Egypt, Valentine, Soccer, Champion, and Diamond.

Also remember that the more types a dragon has, the better champion is against them!! :D

Get this. I was closing in on 99 battle horns as the Tuesday end was announced. I knew I could make it! This morning I got my 98th battle horn, and then was able to win a battle for my 99th and I got ... a Lighthouse Beacon! I assumed the Tuesday end would not be some random time in the day and was woefully wrong. I'll have 98 battle horns until the end of time to remind me of my mistake!
