Known so far! (I will wait to post pictures later)

Castle Story: 12/4/2014: 12 Days of Christmas Part 1

This might come in handy!

For those of us like me who might need help remembering the song lyrics, we might expect:
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me:
12 Drummers Drumming, 11 Pipers Piping, 10 Lords a Leaping, 9 Ladies Dancing, 8 Maids a Milking, 7 Swans a Swimming, 6 Geese a Laying, 5 Golden Rings, 4 Calling Birds, 3 French Hens, 2 Turtle Doves, and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

Note from me! Just a bit of speculation, but it seems sound!
1. below it says to go 3 times to the Market and 3 times to the Library. If you have more than 1 of these buildings, get them out now to save time collecting. The Market is a 1 day turn-around and Library is 8 hours. :) SW
2. in step 4 you need to send 2 requests to neighbours, so split up your neighbours in 2 and ask the first group for Lords and the second group for Ladies. If you send one request to all neighbours for the first step, you'll need to wait up to 24 hours (potentially, depending on timing) before sending a request for the other step.

1. Tis the Season - Find Old Thomas (go to his house) rewards 1 gem, 2 XP

2. Kingdom's Got Talent rewards 1gem, 2 XP
Find 12 drummers drumming (visit other COMMUNITY kingdoms, NOT NEIGHBOURS)
Hand out 12 festive drums (workshop). 5 wood, 2 hides each. 2 hours.

3. Pipe Dreams
Craft 11 holiday pipes (workshop). 1 living wood, 3 silver and 3 iron. 3 hours.

4. Look before you leap
Dig up 3 Ferns 0/3 (dig) Grasshoppers hide in ferns
Invite 10 Lords to the Gala 0/10 (ask) Ask your neighbours!
Invite 9 Ladies to the Gala 0/9 (ask) The more the merrier!

5. Dairy developments
Give 8 Milk Pails 0/8 (Magic Forge)
Hire 8 maids a'Milking 0/8 (Hire) - collect from cows! (note, not every click will get you a maid)
New item at magic forge - craft Milk Pail (4hr) - 5 Wood 3 Iron Ore 5 Milk

6. Swans on the Lam
Give 6 Royal Beams 0/6 (Give) Build a Swan Enclosure!
Get 7 Swans a'Swimming 0/7 (Give) Collect from ponds! (mermaid pond too)

7. Your Goose is Cooked
Get Geese a-Laying 0/6 (Give) Harvest Wheat or Corn!
Take Goose Eggs to the Market 0/3 (Go) Will anyone buy them?
Research Goose Egg Omlettes 0/3 (Go) Go to the Library!

....

12 Days of Christmas quest! (12 days long of course)

Step 1: Tis the Season
- Find Old Thomas! rewards 1gem, 2 XP

Step 2: Kindom's Got Talent
- Find 12 drummers drumming (visit other kingdoms) [visit via community window, not neighbors]
- Hand out 12 festive drums (use the workshop) [2 hours, 5 wood, 2 hides each]

AND that's all for me until tomorrow. 12 hours for the drums using 2 workshops and I won't finish those before my bedtime. :)

There is also a new item in the "Featured" section of the Market.

Christmas Path for 1000 coins. They look like the Halloween path and Mosaic tiles, but they have a Christmas tree on them!

Alas, they cannot be rotated.

I do wish the paths without radial symmetry would rotate. But more than that I am glad the Xmas path costs coins not gems this time - thanks, TL!!!

I only have 3 hides left after my Trapper Trade earlier today and I just collected from my stable---no hide drops at all. Do they lower these drop rates during events like this, or is it just random bad luck? 'Cause I don't know if I'll be able to get 20ish hides in less than a day or so with cruddy drop rates :(

And does anyone know if the 'reward' for completing all these goals will be like the Thanksgiving event with a Bountiful Table? Or are these just goals that give out gems/coins/xp and no 'prize' at the end?

According to TL, the rates are always the same, unless they increase them, and then they let us know.
Nobody knows what the reward will be yet. You just have to watch here, and people will post as it is discovered. Usually, someone will update the 2nd post, where it says "Info on update here" right now. So you can check back on this page, and it will be updated as we discover what comes next. :)

Thanks for posting ... I was just looking the lyrics up. Maybe some creative forum members can post their speculations on what we'll need to do for these various items. I assume 8 maids a milking will have to do with milking cows and we will need some of our gold nuggets to make gold rings in the forge. Maybe our chickens will lay goose eggs? But I'm stumped on the other days. Any thoughts?

Got a sneaking suspicion I know what we'll be doing for 8 Maids a Milking!

Let's hope we don't have to chop trees to get the partridge. I've virtually cleared my kingdom of trees!

I *almost* did a trapper trade this morning. Then I remembered it's Thursday and held back. Events pretty much always need hides. And other "rare" drops. So things like hide, fur, bones, creep teeth, rat tails, roast chickens, sap, living wood, silver, jewels, piles of seeds, fertilizer, and wool (which is 100% from sheep but with only 4 sheep would take a long time to re-stock)... I try to have a good stock of those ready.

My guess is we get a decoration at the end - a partridge in a pear tree. Which I would like. :)

When I need wood, I usually just buy the Dead Tree. It doesn't require any watering/growing and you'll get mushrooms and glimmerdust occasionally with the chops. Much faster and less energy than growing trees. The only thing you'll miss is sap, but I have plenty of other sources for that.

We'll need living wood too though, right? And I need living wood to make ornate beams and blocks to upgrade my deep mines anyway at the moment. So forest it is!

ALOT of wood is an understatement. For my level 24 account, where I have no surplus of anything, I have worked out that I need 240 wood just for the swan enclosure.......I need 24 wood beams = 120pcs wood, in order to make 12 fancy beams = another 120pcs wood and 60 sap in order to make 6 royal beams. My tinkers are going to be working overtime.

My choice of tree is the Aspen, which can be watered every 5 mins, I think 6 times (could be wrong) until it is mature and can be chopped straight back down. You only get 6 chops. The dead tree is also good as it comes ready to be chopped.

SpiritWind00
12-04-14, 06:30 PM
Old logs are good for wood too and you get the bonus of petals and mushies as well. The crab apple tree was also really quick to grow and it was watered every 5 mins too. now I better go check my inventory, you've scared me about not having enough beams! :)

Post 2 updated with some extra little hints too! I love events!!!

bookadey
12-04-14, 07:45 PM
Yes - Thanks for the steps - I am starting on the beams now. They take me forever, I have no extras since I upgrade as soon as I make them and living wood is pretty scarce in my kingdom these days.

Have you built Old Thomas' house? That's where you will find him, there could possibly be some quests to complete before you can build the house, check your blue book in the top left hand corner of your screen for quests relating to Thomas.

Whenever a quest says visit a person (find him): it always means click his/her house.

I advise to let the houses/homes of the characters stay in your kingdom, not in your inventory. Now and then you'll need them. And they give nice things, sometimes, when collecting.

Does anyone know if we need wool? I have 30 wool, and I'm debating on doing a Trapper's Trade to help with the royal beams.

@jinka7 i personally believe beams come easier than wool. Save wool unless u have 4 sheeps and visit game often.

I'm wondering if there will be gem purchase available in next week update. Last year they had the Christmas trees and you could buy more for gems. I wonder if they are helping us out by giving us gems.. Hmm.. This will interesting! Excited!! I loved last years so I know I will love this year!!

well. even better, when you play on IOS (ipad/iphone etc) big chance you get the game Treasure Run to earn gems. on my androidphone i haven't gotten that goal yet...

if you play more TL games, make sure to open them and wait to install Treasure Run untill you've got it in your goallist in every game you play.

Note from me! Just a bit of speculation, but it seems sound!
2. in step 4 you need to send 2 requests to neighbours, so split up your neighbours in 2 and ask the first group for Lords and the second group for Ladies. If you send one request to all neighbours for the first step, you'll need to wait up to 24 hours (potentially, depending on timing) before sending a request for the other step.[/I]

nice thought, but what if your neigbours who get the request for the Lords respond faster.. and send 12 Lord or more ;)
then you still have to wait another 24 hours to collect all your Ladies, lol

i'll send the Lordrequest to 11 neighbours of which i know they'll respond within a few hours, wait till i get those, and then spam all the rest with the request for the Ladies ;)

It took me a long time to figure this out - growing trees and chopping them down takes 3 hours of watering and 5 energy to grow +8 energy to chop (3 hours +13 total energy) with a return of 8 wood max depending on the tree. Instead you could buy dead trees (5 energy, no time)=5 wood + misc. items, or old logs (3 energy, no time)= 3 wood plus mushrooms, petals and other stuff you might need. Just a thought for people trying to get enough wood for some of these adventures that require so much of it.

If you have visited 12 community members you should see that part of the goal completed in your quest book. You don't actually have to find anything.

No, the tinker camp usually doesn't participate in the special events. That's not a bad thing though. It allows you to continue to make other supplies.

Anyone gotten to the five golden rings stage yet? I've been working for months to collect the gold nuggets I need to make the gold bar to give to the Baron for his birthday, and now that I'm finally starting to get close (8/10), I'm worried that they're going to want me use some of them for these rings.

Incidentally, am I missing something about how to get gold nuggets? They seem to only be a very rare drop from the deep mines.

No where near this part, trying to think ahead: when asking for lords and ladies, are we sure that we don't have to ask male/female avatar neighbors? Bc my ratio is way skewed and I'll have to find some more lords if that's true. ;) just wondering if I need to be working on that now, bc finding lords that might accept neighbor requests might take some time!

You're probably right plus a few people posted all the steps and requirements already so there's no reason to talk about or ask questions. Kind of miss the days when the entire community work together one step at a time to get through goals and the excitement when someone figured out the next step and we all rushed back to our kingdoms to confirm and rush back to post. At this rate TL should just post all the steps and requirements the day before an event starts.

If the requests were gender specific, it would state so or someone would have posted it along with everything else in the first couple of hours. However I still have NOT received any Lords and I sent those out first and to my most active neighbors but have received almost all of my Ladies. Not even from Stormie's. Wonder if anyone else is having the same issue.
ETA: all my Ladies have come in and now the Lords are starting to arrive. So disregard my Lord concerns

I usually use the Iron Rich Rock, it gives a good drop of silver AND jewels.
On the other hand you can use the forge to convert Iron into silver, before the stage where The magic forge would be occupied by the Milk pails, so it is a win win. That's what I always do and it worked for me until now :)

That is what I don't like about the requests and I wish TL would stop msking us send requests!
The whole Goal is now depending on the whim of another person!

Maybe it is TL 's way to make us spend gems I guess by giving up, or getting bored waiting, or getting antsy and anxious not to lose time...or all the above :p

I know 3 of my neighbors are absent, so I did not send them any requests to begin with, but the others I know for sure they are active now.

Just a thought before you delete neighbors you think are slighting you. It's been pointed out numerous times over the years that the system is not so straightforward as we all think it should be. Just because you sent out a request to a neighbor doesn't mean that neighbor actually got it. So it may not be their fault. People have been reporting for years that they accept all requests ASAP and numerous times a day and yet sometimes the new request state they were sent days earlier and yet it took days to reach them. There has been extensive discussion that the queuing system for requests has issues Just wanted to put it out there before you start deleting neighbors that it might not be their fault.

Just wanted to point out I never said I would delete anyone, but I do think one way traffic is odd, if I answer a request and send one straight away and don't over send requests my system should not get clogged and that neighbour is definitely active, so maybe TL should rethink including neighbour requests if there is a problem until it is sorted out.

Actually it is not the first time with these 2 specific neighbors !
With the Bountiful Table it happened and another event before it.
I sent specifically 9 requests to Lords, and then added Stormie, and 9 after to the ladies, then addded another neighbor ( the slighting ones ) I don't suppose my 21 requests would clog the system, otherwise, TL should stop these requests, if 21 of those are going to get lost on their way to neighbors!

I don't know what her problem is ! I visit daily though she doesn't visit back, and I respond to all her requests as I do all the others pronto, because I know how annoying it is to wait for responses!

I saw her table getting one level after another and she did not respond to my requests for 2 consecutive days, so this is the last straw. Ialways give more than 6 months before deleting any neighbor, even those who do not reciprocate, but I guess enough is enough!

The post was addressed to me :) Because I will delete those who do not reciprocate, why have un-neighborly neighbors?
Absolutely the same here! I try not to clog the system, hence I send the strictest number possible.
Anyway TL should rethink this "Requests" goals because it is only frustrating and an exercice in futility!

Spent from the time the glimmer gate sword goal came out til 5 days before Halloween adventures sending them to glimmer gate daily to get 2nd part of sword

got first part of 2nd sword just about the last day of Halloween quest and 3 days ago got 2nd part

Blade got done earlier today and I just beat the queen

Parts for the potion are brewing just now

I only hope I get the stupid ailcorn horn someday

For the lord, lady requests I'm noticing something odd

I will get a request that might say sent 1 hour ago, or 7 hours ago, but they both won't be there, I'll check the game 20 min later, they are there

Why am I getting these so delayed after it says sent, I had a limited item request come through 2 days ago

Did you unlock the Tablet of Tabernum ? the Stone monument with writings on it ? if you did then you need to collect from it, there are 4 shards to collect, the last one is Alchemy to turn Iron into silver in the magic Forge.

I sent to around 50 neighbours for lords and about 50 neighbours for ladies then force closed my game - opened it back up and (about 30 seconds after I made the requests) I had 2 lords and 5 ladies. That was about 10 minutes ago and I've now got 5 lords and 8 ladies.

I don't monitor my neighbours at all, nor have I ever deleted any. Most of them I got because they added me, presumably from seeing my name around the forum, because I don't post on walls. Just lucky I guess.

Edit: it's been 30 minutes now since I send out requests and I'm done, got all of them!

Liloze, (sorry tried to just quote a part of your quote but it wasn't working) I completely agree that the whole request system needs to be looked at. Some people can send out 100 requests and there's no problem. Others (me) can only send out the 20 otherwise my system slows to a crawl. I play through out the day whenever I have a spare minute and clear all request immediately. None sit for more that an hour at a time and yet some will state that they were sent three, five, nine days ago (I'm thinking of past goals).

This time around I sent out 12 requests for Lords to my most active neighbors and 12 hours later got 0 responses. Afterwards I sent out 12 requests for Ladies to random neighbors and few hours later had 8/9. Almost 24 hours later and I finished the Ladies and am still waiting on the Lords request. Makes no sense.

Just wanted to put it out there that in some cases it might be the system and not the person.

You are right it happened with me in the Bountiful Table with a couple of my neighbors as well as I , simply the system refused to deliver our response to one another,at the right time!
Then 2 days later I get to see the Usual " X or Y responded to your requests etc..."
The thing is I never saw this late message about her responding !
But My paranoid /Conspiracy Theory inclined thinking pushes me to point to TL again ...
I can wait...maybe others will gem their ways through requests...'nough said ;)

If you are unsure if a neighbor is not responding or if it is TL one way to politely find out from your neighbor is to post on their wall you are sending them a request during a challenge and if they can please confirm if they are receiving it or if there is a glitch. This is how I had found out with some people they were not getting the requests when sent so it was due to no fault of their own. Thankfully this time I was able to get enough as I just sent to all the players I know respond first and 30 min later blasted others. And when I needed one more I used stormie for that. Good luck everyone who is having trouble, feel free to add me if you need a neighbor to answer requests although I don't write on walls or visit everyone daily. But I do respond to all requests several times a day :)

This has to be one of the most boring quests ever...I gemmed through the pipes because I couldn't bear to sit through 11 crafts with long durations. Now I'm stuck on the milk pails although I have all my milking maids already, and even the royal beams for the next goal. Yawn. Hope the second part will be more fun. The Bountiful Table event was alot better.

For my lords and ladies, I had to force close the game several times before they started to show up in the counter even though I could see my neighbors responded.

I can definately understand everyone's frustration regarding neighbour requests.....I sent a request from my level 24 account to my level 49 account for a Lord, I also only sent this request to 10 of my very active neighbours. After 2 hrs the request HAS NOT come through to my level 49, and in fact I haven't had a single response from anyone for Lords or Ladies. ( I have forced closed both accounts). Why, why, why.

Since my last post I am still waiting for three lords I am apparently clogged, I have forced closed I have not received twenty replies because I only sent out nine for the ladies and have got all nine, leaving eleven free for the lords but in the last hour the apparently clogged system has allowed 47 requests ranging in time from 10 seconds to 4 minutes to come through for a mix of ladies and lords I grudgingly accepted all 47 even though I have now been waiting 12 hours for 3 lords to come my way.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!! You didn't have to share or take your time to literally walk us through it all but YOU DID. You are a total rock star. I was seriously stressing b/c I had to start a couple days late (had an atrocious migraine which was not very conducive to looking at a bright screen). I'm now not panicking quite so much although I do have one thing going for me. Ever since getting caught w/my panties down when the HH challenge came along, I now have a system. If I use something, I replace it ASAP - so my inventory is almost completely stocked. Anyway, enough of my rambling - I'm Ashley btw - just wanted you to know that what you (and all the others as well!!!) is GREATLY appreciated.

Hi. I think some requests take a while to get through to the system. Also remember some of us are in different time zones, and when I request I don't usually get all the replies until the next day. I've just built a second and third Market. That way I'll be able to manage the "Your goose is cooked"-goal within a few seconds. After all they require simple building materials (3 of each Stone block, wood beam, simple glue). Afterwards I can put them in storage because they require 3x3.

I just want to say to those that are frustrated with their neighbours for not responding to the Lords n Ladies requests, that I believe it's a game glitch. Yesterday I was playing all day (well mostly, despite breaks while waiting to recharge) and I noticed that I would receive requests that were sent many, many, hrs later than when my neighbour sent them! Some 16 hrs or 10 hrs later! Like I mentioned before, I was on all day and I was sending out requests everytime I would receive them. Some I would receive right away, others many hrs later.

So this is most likely the reason that your neighbours have not responded, not because they are not being very "neighbourly" :)

The milk maids are so cute! I want one permanently in my kingdom!

I gem end the last Lord request last night before bed so I could set off the milk pails. There is definitely something off about the request system.

A suggestion/thought for Team Lava. Personally, I would rather make a ton of items at a shorter crafting time then a few items at a longer crafting time. Ex: I would rather do 30 pails of milk at 30min/1hour than 10 pails of milk at 4 hours. It's just very boring waiting that entire time. Just a thought.

That's hard to say as we don't know what the end will bring. Look over the requirements in post 2, see what you have and don't have. How much time do you have to play? That's a factor too. Events can be really hard for lower levelled players, but not impossible.

All that to say, it really up to you..... :)

Last time TL put the gold required as gold nuggets even some more higher level players struggled with this and it's likely that either gold nuggets or coin gold will be required to make the 5 Gold Rings. They have in the past (in your future) will substitute the nuggets for coins. If we do have to make gold rings even most of us will hope they ask us to use coin even a level 47 player as myself only has 57 gold nuggets but then I've used a few for quests. You may want to think on that or keep your gems as you may want to skip that part. But as TL put the quest at level 15 and upwards it must be attainable otherwise they'll lose players quicker than you can say Bobs your Uncle.

I asked my neighbors for leaping lords and dancing ladies and got back 9 ladies and 9 lords. Waited for a couple of hours more and payed 5 gems for the last lord so I can move on, because it looked to me I would have to wait till tomorrow before I got another lord.
I Am working on dairy development. Found all maids a'milking, waiting for first two milk pails to be ready.
I built additional 2 markets and another library. I to moved around some things. Had to put away evil queen statue and a hayride, but it all fits. I have not much room for anything else. I'd like to think of my kingdom as having that natural look of thing expanding and being built up over the years.

Other than items I had to ask my neighbors for, this has been going pretty smoothly for me. I have been stuck waiting for mithril, large diamond and that weird liquid that comes from harvesting magic garden or Manticores, so I have almost maxed out on most things (maybe have over 80 of a lot of my supplies) as I have been sending out adventures and trading mostly.

Got the same problem as yourself sent out half and half received the ladies but still waiting on lords and I refuse to keep using my gems up!! So if I don't finish this quest I will be blaming TL for stalling requests!! And yes I miss the whole community working together step by step but thankful to those who take the time to post all the steps for us. I understand your consern. I totally failed the Thanksgiving quest with level 16 and started this one with level 18. Anyway, the first part seems easy even for teen levels with one market and one forge. The first three days were tough with lot of crafting (including royal beams for the future), but now I only have to check the forge every 4 hours for milk pail and the rest of the game goes its own way.

I have 9 ponds out and the swampy pond. First two collections yielded 5 swans. Swampy pond is 2/2, regular ponds 3/18.
I also brought out my extra market and library and then constructed one more of each. I had to put some stuff in storage to make room. I don't really like to have so many duplicates but it's better than waiting.

Interesting in the Lords and Ladies collection, I sent out about 15 or so for the Lords first and then about the same for the Ladies. within a couple of hours I had 8 Lords and the 9 Ladies. I sent out about 5 more requests for a Lord including Stormy. within about half an hour I had the last two Lords. What was strange was there were only 10 neighbors listed as having replied to my request.

Update on swans, total of 4 collections. Swampy pond 4/4. The 9 regular ponds gave 2-1-1-3 for a ratio of 7/36.

Forgot to plant wheat enough ahead of time. Two collections of 10 corn yielded 2-1 geese, so 3/20.

Did 3 more collections of the corn. Total of 5/50. 2-1-1-1-0. Going to wait for the 20 wheat to ripen. Have to wait for the libraries and markets anyways.

Collected from 20 wheat and got 2 more geese. So ratio was the same for both.

Dark Cave Formation is very silver rich rock. You can purchase it in Nature, Other and scroll over. The only problem is it costs 30 gems or you can get it from one of the adventures . The Knights brought back a total of two on two adventures, just can't remember which adventures they were. Either Dark Caves or Desert Sands.

Thise swans are slippery! I put out 11 ponds and first go got 1, none from swampy. The second time I used the Quick Collection Method and got 6! Don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but I'm happy it's done. :)

What you may ask is the QCM? It's where you click/collect everywhere, then press Menu/Social/X and it all comes spinning into the centre, first coins, then blue stars, then drops. Maybe it will help you too!

3rd collection I got another 5 using QCM. (Want a few spare as they are so pretty!)

My two sense is, if you can afford it always buy a few extra of everything for backup. You can always store everything when you're done.

I have a weird experience with the requests as well:

I asked my 78 neighbours saturday-evening. The left row for males, the right row for females. I closed the game, and my Ipad. I opened the game about half an hour (don't know exactly) later, curious how many had responded: big surprise, next step of the quest ('dairy developments') popped up, I didn't have to wait anymore for responses!
A bit weird, okay, but very happy, finally a smooth request-happening!

However, when I looked who had responded there were no 19 responses in my list. As far as I can remember: none. They came all later. In fact, sunday, and even this monday-morning I got a notification in my list that a neighbour had responded to my request...

One of my neighbours wrote 21 hours ago (sunday-morning): "I accepted your request for dancing ladies which I saw for the first time. It says you requested 19 hours ago. Just wanted you to know it wasn't there when I went to bed 8 hours ago." And indeed, he was listed as having responded at that same time, 21 hours ago.

No, it doesn't matter if you're full. You'll get the geese anyway. But it may take some tries. I think I harvested 40 of each to get my geese.

That is very good to know. Just harvested 30 wheat after turning 10 into flour and not one goose appeared. Planted corn this time as I did get one from them before. Need some more energy before I can collect again.

What do we need after point 7? After the goose cooked?

In this forum its say what we need from point 1 to 7

What we need after this?

For the 5 golden rings
For the 4 calling birds
For the 3 french hens
For the 2 turtle doves
En for the peer tree?

Anyone know this?

Im almost done with the goose.. Just collect over 16 hiurs the last time in the market..

If we know for the other points, we already can collect for the items...

Wells definitely don't count for the swans, right? So far I have gotten 1/1 from the mermaid pond, 2/3 from the swampy pond, and 1/4 from a regular pond. None from wells.

Also, when I was on maids a milking, my black cows and white cows gave me lots of maids, and my regular cows gave me none. It's possible that this was just a coincidence, but I am curious whether the drop rates were different based on type of cow (and now type of pond). I guess we will never know, though.

To the people wondering why there is less discussion than usual, my personal opinion - with all of the changes on the boards lately, it is not that surprising. What we had before was almost too good to be true, the game developers themselves sharing information and answering questions that only they would have the answers to, plus posting the sneak peeks and keeping everyone engaged. It has been tough to adjust to the changes.

I do think, though, that kooky and SpiritWind are doing an amazing job. Kudos, you guys. Also, QCM?! Good to know.

This part of the event is PART 1 (see title of thread lol)
The next part will be released on Thursday, at the usual TL update time (noon, Pacific).
...but we can always guess what may be next. I'm betting on golden nuggets for those rings .. And chicken collections for the French hens lol.

This has been a great quest so far. You can do other things, doesn't drain all your energy all the time, reasonable social request. But I am dreading "five gold rings." I have one nugget. They seldom show up and as soon as I get three, I trade them off. Crossing my fingers on this.

I was wondering the same thing. I only have normal cows and I got plenty of maids- beat that goal in a day. Now I only have 1 swan from my 2 normal ponds.

My weird experience is the exact opposite lol
I sent strictly 10 for Lords and 10 for ladies, so as not to clog this "unreliable" system ;)
I had to wait a whole day and a half to get them ! I asked all my neighbors whose names did not show on my news-feed, if they did receive the requests?
All of them said they responded Hours ago! Except the one who is slighting me, she did not even bother to answer!
TL should stop these requests because their system is totally unreliable
And to fail a goal because of a clogged system, and more, a glitch beyond the player's control is totally unfair!

TL PLEASE STOP THE REQUESTS IN TIMED GOALS, especially when everyone is experiencing problems!

Harvested more than 20 corn, 25 wheat all I got until now is 3 geese... Seems they are not that hungry for now,
waiting for a new batch of wheat to grow, maybe by then they'd be starved lol.

For me the first round of harvesting only produced 1 goose. The next lot only 2 more. But just then I harvested around 20 wheat/corn and got 5 geese. So ended up with 8 altogether. 2 spare for the Xmas roast. :D

I wonder if we'll have to make the 5 gold rings out of gold collected from the mine? Best to keep the Magic Forge free I think. We may need to forge some rings out of gold.
Not sure where the 4 calling birds are going to come from. Perhaps a few trades needed of some sort? Or a neighbour request such as "call on 40 neighbours". Maybe we'll need to check the trees too?
3 French Hens will most likely come from the chickens??
2 turtle doves ... hmmm ... maybe need to find some rare turtle dove eggs and hatch them in the Forge?
Partridge in a pear tree ... hmmm ... maybe we're getting a new fruit tree to complement the apple, orange and lemon trees? A new pear tree...? So then maybe we need to harvest pears, bake a pear tart in the Kitchen and trade it for a partridge or earn the partridge as part of a goal or even a quest? Maybe the Magic Fruit and/or the tree will be involved some how as the fruit looks similar to pears?

I wonder if TL is going on "Golden nuggets" road again !
there are level 15 + players that might not have the required amount of golden nuggets!
Maybe Golden coins ?! lol ( i can hear the Baron screaming from here lol )
4 calling birds...Well like our "goosechase" among wheat and corn ( still corn intolerant lol )
Maybe we'll be chopping trees to get the birds?! they nest in trees ...
3 French Hens.... Do our Chickens speak French ? lol "Parlez-vous fran?ais Mademoiselle poule?!"lol
Or maybe something to do with Cooking Coq au vin ?! lol Or we get a chicken wrapped in a French Flag ?! :p
2 Turtle Doves... They usually feed on weed seeds ..are we going to chop patch of Tall Grass maybe?! like the Grasshoppers /Ferns?!
Partridge in a pear tree...These birds don't build their nests in trees but prefer lower places, but I do hope we'll get a pear tree :D It would be a nice addition to the collection of fruit trees :)

Editing to add, Got all the remainder geese ( + 1 goose as a souvenir ) from Corn :)
A 2nd editing to correct : actually it is 2 geese as souvenir :)

I go the opposite way when asking for requests. I was lucky in that my lords and ladies became available three hours before the midnight roll over. I asked everyone letter A-L for lords and M-symbols for ladies, about 100 in each bracket. I had all except two ladies back in those three hours and as soon as the new day rolled around the ladies were finished.

I think with the gold it will have to be something creative, love the yellow dye idea! If it's for level 15 up, there's no way they would have these in any quantity (just remembering when I was that level waiting for a nugget drop). Maybe it's another hide and seek game, like the swans and geese. Either way, what a great goal!

I'm pretty sure that special cows and ponds have better rates. Nevertheless the chances for regular cows and ponds are good two, I'd estimate them as 30%. I have only one pond and it provides me with swans much faster than I've expected after reading this thread.
The funny thing for me is that I get all my swans with fish. Either both a swan and a fish or just money.

You only need to check regular ponds and the swampy pond. Wells don't work. One side benefit is you are probably getting a lot of fish to either trade or eat, plus mermaid scales.

All my swans were in hiding this morning for my second account, so I changed my tactics from the first thing I would check being ponds to collecting other things first and voila it worked, my swans came from each tap. Luck? Random? Who knows, but it worked for me.

It's probably just the nature of random drops, but I had the same experience with my maids, my swans, and my geese: when I first started collecting, I would get occasional drops, but eventually, at the end, the drops became much more numerous. I think the most extreme case was the geese: I was collecting from a set of 14 farms plots. On the first collection, I got 1 goose. On the second, I got 2 geese. On the third, I got one more. When I started my fourth set, in the first 5-6 plots, I got 4 geese.

According to the first post, the next part will start this Thursday, so the entire event lasts til the 16th, each section picking up on the countdown where the last section ended... You progress through ea step, all keeping the same 12-day countdown, if that makes sense.lol

Yes.

I always suggest that if you can afford it, always have back up buildings and resources. You can always store them if not using but in cases like this, you can pull them out and be done with the goal faster.

The libraries and market places don't have to be upgraded for this event, so if you can afford the initial purchase then I'd suggest getting a couple more now. It'll take a day to collect but it'll be one less day to wait.

Hi! I just finished the Geese part this morning. The timer was showing "8 days remaining". The way I'm reading it, the Christmas Part 1 will have the duration of 12 days, whether Part 2 starts this Thursday, December 11th, or not. I'm guessing, however, the Part 2 will start on the following Thursday, December 18th. In my book, this will still leave u at least 7 days to finish Part 1. Goooood luck!! :)

I don't think that's correct. The event is called the 12 Days of Christmas and lasts 12 days, 12/4-12/16. Each step counts down til 12/16 with part 2 starting on Thursday, the 11th. Yes, that means the second part will only have 5 days to complete and only starts for you once you've finished the last step of part one.

At least that's my understanding of how it is introduced and explained in the first post of this thread.:)

Yes, they definitely said that part 2 starts this week, and it did sound like it too will expire on the 16th. I'm not sure, though, if you'll need to have finished the "Your Goose is Cooked" quest in order to even start on part 2. It might work that way. It makes sense, thematically.

Thankfully, I only need to collect from my Library one more time to be done, and it will be ready when I get home tonight.

Not directly, it was more a general comment as several people are having the same issue. Even if it doesn't help with this week's quest, I would recommend putting on your to-do list to buy and build a second forge. You'll discover (if you haven't already) that a second forge is very helpful on many of the weekly updates.

Are you sure about the 150 carrots? I've read every post and there is no mention of it.

Gah! Can't wait for part two! I felt so proud to actually be done with part 2 with a day and a half to spare. I never have this much time left with challenges like these. I'm always down to the wire- if I can even get it done at all. If I had known about being able to have more than one market, that would have been even better. Waiting the three days was torture. Happy part II everyone! I've been making yellow dye, just in case some of the suppositions are true ;)
