Castle Story: 11/21/2014: Limited Time Thanksgiving Goals

Hey guys!

For this week's update, we have some limited time Thanksgiving Goals! It also includes an item that will help you prepare for Thanksgiving dinner in your Kingdom, so be sure to participate! You must be level 15+ in order to access this set of Goals. You won't need to have completed any other Goals before this.

These Goals are timed and will begin today, November 21st, at 12 PM PST and will expire December 1st at 11:30 AM PST.

1- The bountiful Table 20,000 coins
Royal Beam x 3
Fancy Beam x 3
Super Glue x 3

2- Traditional Stitching
Blue dye x3
Woven Cloth x 3 ( 10 hides/20 wool)
A Holiday Table Cloth x 1

3- Gone in 60 seconds
Search the Vaults for Candlesticks 0/2 (It's quite dark and may take a few tries!)
Upgrade the Bountiful Table to Lv. 2 0/1 (We'll have a candlelit dinner)
upgrade with 2 candlesticks, 1 tablecloth, 10 blue petals and 30 white petals.

4- Pigley's Rampage
Craft 6 Fancy Silverware (in the Magic Forge)
Each silverware takes 2 hours and is crafted using 2 silver ore and 4 iron ore
Craft 6 China Dishes (in the workshop)
Each dish need 5 bones, 1 red dye and 1 silver leaf.
The silver leaf takes 5 minutes to craft and uses 10 silver to make.

5- A Candle Distraction
20 Honeycomb from chopping trees
(note: honeycomb doesn't come from each chop. [crab apple is good, pine not so much. Maple, Apple and lemon also drop, sap trees]
4 candles (each needs 5 honeycomb and 1 wool)
UPGRADE TO LEVEL 3: 6 China dishes, 6 silverware, 3 sugar

reported trees to use: Honeycomb from trees:
White birch - zero
Willow - 3/10, 2/10, 5/10
Oak tree - 7/8, 6/8
red Acer seems to work, yellow not so much
Magic Fruit


6- One track mind
40 cranberries from neighbours
8 honey (each needs 3 honeycomb from trees)
1 large chicken (from chickens) pink chickens count

7- All jammed up
8 berry jam - each one is 1 honey, 5 strawberries, 5 cranberries. 2 hours each
8 biscuits and jam - each one is 2 flour, 4 water, 1 berry jam. 1 hour each.
UPGRADE TO LEVEL 4: 4 candles, 1 large roast chicken, and the biscuits and jam

2 hours to make each berry jam and 1 hour to make bisquits and jam.

8- Pie in the sky
Find 8 pumpkins from harvesting crops. [Seems all crops drop pumpkin, but it's different for lots of players. Some lots of luck with corn and strawberries and tomatoes... SW]
Make 4 pumpkin pies - each one is 2 pumpkin, 2 sugar, 5 eggs. 4 hours each.

9- Finishing touches
UPGRADE TO LEVEL 5: 4 hearty stew, 4 pumpkin pies, 4 water, 4 bread.
The End!


(Note: don't speed up the table, it just gives coins till fully upgraded)
Don't have times yet for how long to craft, but at least we know what we need.

If you already maxed out blue dye, make a holiday tablecloth first, then you will be able to make fresh blue dyes.. :)

I had the same problem, but a Holiday Tablecloth requires 3 blue dye (and 3 woven cloth). Once you start crafting a tablecloth, you'll be able to make more blue dye.

If you are max on blue dye then start making the woven cloths. If you already have some, or once you have finished some, you can start the table cloth, which uses 3 blue dye so you can craft some new blue dye.

The Holiday Table cloth needs 3 blue dye Start with that it will open your potion shop for blue dye :)

It's Here!!! Thank goodness I have materials for table. Had to put away a Farie Worshop so it would fit. I am making 'new' blue dye and cloth, but it let me make the tablecloth with my 'old' stuff. Going to finish making new stuff to make sure I am able to move on to the next step. Whoopee we are on our way to the Thanksgiving Countdown!!

I earn new things through quests, use gems to purchase special items....yet I have a whole storage full of things I cannot put out because there is no room. I visit kingdoms that are so crowded, they just don't look nice, and Im tired of hiding things in storage because I have no room to put them out. Looks like this is going to be another quest where I earn things but only the storage will get enjoyment out of them. I truly enjoy this game, I feel this is the best Team Lava game (for me) however this not being able to expand is getting old and very boring for me.

The level of your stable only influence the refresh rate. It is possible to have enough wool, I was in a similar situation long ago, but managed to have enough wool.

The dyes only take an hour, and the table cloth takes 12, I wouldn't bother speeding up if I were you, would easily get the three dyes done whilst waiting on the tablecloth.

You can skip making the woven cloth, which requires the wool, for only 15 gems. I will be making one cloth with the wool I have and gem skip the rest, otherwise I feel the event will have timed out before I have collected enough wool.

I would definately go for it, buy atleast the table, you can always finish it with gems (even without buying them for real money).

My very first timed quest I didn't make it too, but that item was still on sale in the market after the quest was over: looks like this one won't be. I'm still very sorry I missed out on the Love Shack, the Valentines-quest from last year.

I know what you said/mean, my English compression is above average, still if you dont have a better use for them it would be silly if you dont do it, but you prolly wont make all 3 woven cloth unless you use gems.

I'm a gem hoarder also, but look at it this way..
Wool to make the cloth costs 2 each, so therefore 40 per cloth, 120 in total.
Skipping for 15 seems worth it.
You'd easily get 15 back the next time you're asked to install and play a new game.
(Which most of us do, play to a certain level then delete)

Edit: though before you do that it might be worth checking if skipping the woven cloth will still give you the cloth you need for the tablecloth. :)
If so, maybe invest the gems in another sheep and get collecting.

well.. i don't totally agree with you, cause what's the use then of making stock if we are not allowed to use it ? but have to craft all over again ! that way the game will be more boring very soon if ther is no use in stocking up in advance to be prepared for goals...

Theres upgrades, they are unlocked when you get far-est on the quest chain, wait till someone post the quests and requirements, id do it, but I kinda made up my mind to be selfish about it some time ago, if you want a hint? send your castle/barracks for adventures on the vault, you need a "rare" drop from there on futures quests

"defective table" hahaha thats rich, its not the first time this happen, I dont know why its programmed this way, but you cant even see the requirements of the table until you get until certain quest (which actually tells you to upgrade it), remember to not collect of the vault until you do have the quest, otherway you will have to wait.

For those who might run out on wool...

I play two games, my main one on my iPad (lvl 50) and a second newer Kingdom on my iPhone at only lvl 25.
I only had enough wool for one woven cloth on my second game so I just skipped the other two with 10 gems.
All three cloths appeared for me to make the tablecloth so spending 10-15 gems to skip the woven cloth if you don't have enough wool may be worth it.

Look closely at the table....there's a folded tablecloth already on it when you buy it from the market. Can't we just use that one instead of making a new one??

Guys! If you have the Witch's Cauldron we got from the World event, check it! If you get any dyes from there it counts towards the goal. I just got the last blue dye I needed checked off from my list when I collected from it! Now it's just about having the luck to get the blue dye when you click on it. :)

I already had 2 woven cloth and more than 3 blue dye from previously. They did not count. It must be newly made. It says "fresh blue dye" and "newly made woven cloth". You can use the blue dye and woven cloth you already have to make the tablecloth but must make more fresh items for that part of the goal.

Harvest Pergola costs 200 gems, always available to buy at market.
This bountiful table only cost 20000 coins and drops FEASTS..

They happen one after another.
I've already sent my Knights to the vault last night so it should be ready to collect later after I finish step 2 (in 10 minutes time now).
Meanwhile I've planted a few sap trees and tended them so I can chop for honeycomb.
I'm converting some iron to silver and gifting neighbours silver as it looks like we'll need lots of it and I'm only at about 60.
And I've prepared a couple more simple feasts for the next vault adventure as well need to send it at least twice.

Dice you also have to get a large chicken in the step where you get the honeycomb you may want to leave room in your inventory for eggs. Also I noticed that I can still craft china plates, candles and silverware even though I am past that step. Do you think it is deliberate and we are going to have more guests arrive later or something happen to the original set? Or maybe it's a glitch.

Yes it's in the magic forge.

I think it's level related rather than goal related.
I can't specifically remember as I'm at level 50 so have been able to make silver for over a year.

Iron rich rocks often give a bit of silver too. On average I'd get 2-3 out of 8 chops.
Though sometimes I'd get none.

Hmm, I am a bit frustrated by the structure of this event. All of these goals seem really fun, and I love Thanksgiving so I am especially into the cranberries and pumpkin pie and such. But if we won't get any of these goals past #3 until we upgrade the table to level 2, and upgrading the table to level 2 is going to take multiple trips to the vault, then the parts you need to check in often for aren't going to start until the weekend is over and many players will be back to work (or school, or whatever else).

Did anyone who didn't spend gems get their candlesticks yet? Has anyone gotten more than one candlestick from an adventure?

that never happened for me, if i had installed a new game without it being in my goallist, it won't appear there anymore,, so you will miss out on the gemreward!
i know so, because in the beginning i forgot to open all TL games and wait till i got the new game goal in all of them before installing...

Hmm, I am a bit frustrated by the structure of this event. All of these goals seem really fun, and I love Thanksgiving so I am especially into the cranberries and pumpkin pie and such. But if we won't get any of these goals past #3 until we upgrade the table to level 2, and upgrading the table to level 2 is going to take multiple trips to the vault, then the parts you need to check in often for aren't going to start until the weekend is over and many players will be back to work (or school, or whatever else). Did anyone who didn't spend gems get their candlesticks yet? Has anyone gotten more than one candlestick from an adventure?


I sent out two adventures one in the castle and one with the knights. They are a day each. I got the candlesticks right away with both adventures. I even got the lady finverra statue which I needed for the faerie quest. So send it out now and this time tomorrow you will have your candlesticks. And if you spend the rest of your time preparing by making the others things you need for the rest of the table will set you up for the rest of the levels. This is doable without tons of gems. But to answer your question directly, I only got one set of candlesticks per adventure.

that never happened for me, if i had installed a new game without it being in my goallist, it won't appear there anymore,, so you will miss out on the gemreward!
i know so, because in the beginning i forgot to open all TL games and wait till i got the new game goal in all of them before installing...

Ok, thanks FrostyFinn. I am encouraged that you got the candlesticks on both tries you made! The game dialog makes it sound like it might take several tries to get a single candlestick, and that could take a long time.

For me personally, there just isn't a lot to do for the weekend which tends to be when I can play a lot... and I am assuming that would be true for a lot of other players. I don't have the barracks, so it will take at least two full days to get the candlesticks.

I can't craft the silver leaf, silverware and china in the meantime, since those crafts aren't available yet (and I already have more than enough of all the raw materials needed). I can't start collecting for honeycomb since that won't happen yet (and I already have the trees needed). Same for cranberries, same for chickens. Can't make jam because I won't have any cranberries or honey. And so on, and so on. There will be plenty to do once it all gets going, it just won't get going until we are back into the weekdays and won't have as much time to play.

Anyway, enough whining from me. It is still a great event, I just personally think the structure would have been better if they had set it up so steps 3 and 4 kicked off at the same time.

in the past i played bakery story, dragon story, farm story, fashion story, restaurant story, pet hotel, zoo story, castle story and some others.. and if the goal to install a certain game popped up in one of them, that goal always was a goal in all the other games too..

now i'm only playing castle story, farm story 2, fashion story, zoo story2, and it's still the same.. but to get the gemrewarded game as a goal you do have to wait till you've got it as goal in every game.

once you install the bonusgame before opening all you games and getting it as goal, it will not appear in any otner TL game in the goallist there.

also.. do install it out of the goallist and NOT from the icon below on the left in you screen, cause sometimes that's not registered and you also miss out on rewards

I dont have a sheep so I guess I cant even participate in this. My stable produces wool way too slowly. And the dumb game did not give me the cupcake craze quest to earn gems because i accidentally installed cupcake craze before i opened castle story yesterday.

Buy a second stable and a cheap gem sheep if you can, I did this for the summer gazebo and with one small gem skip when I knew I wasn't going to get enough wool (one woven cloth - we needed 5 then) it was worth the purchase.

Send them now. Don't wait. As long as you only collect once your tablecloth and that section is complete. I had two adventures already underway before the thanksgiving quest started and I waited until the tablecloth section was complete before I collected. I was very lucky to get a candlestick from each adventure right away.

I've got bored waiting for first adventure to come back so am making a second table cloth, have all my ingredients ready for the later quests so taking this time to build up stocks even more. Making a few items to clear room for collecting honeycomb, building up my faerie elixir stocks to rampage on collecting honeycomb. Glad it's not all happening for me tomorrow, will be in hospital for most of the day. Trying to plan ahead best I can.

I am splitting between the chicken and cows so that I could use all of these eggs with the milk in the Royal exchange which sometimes gives hearty feasts and we need 4 of those, and I got 1 already :) lol nothing goes to waste.

But still it is a bit frustrating to see nothing drop after turning my chickens so fat they could easily replace the turkey :p lol

That's strange, I collected from 3 chickens and got 2 big chickens! Do you have any "non-normal" chickens i.e. a pink one or one in a turkey suit? Perhaps the drop rate is higher for those "special" kind?

I just want to say it was d@mn hard work hiding that gigantic table. That dining set is bigger than all but a few of the biggest buildings. With all the extra open space built into the 3x3 block, even the trees can't quite cover it. I spent almost two hours arranging and rearranging different neighborhoods to find an out-of-sight place to put it where it won't spoil the scenery.

I truly appreciate the feasts it will "bring to the table", but something without such a big border of empty space, in a smaller 2x2 block, would have been easier to leave out on display to enjoy its design.

ETA: I really do enjoy the artwork, and made sure to have extra of the tasty jam and biscuits leftovers to savor long after the feast was done. ;)

You can send out as many requests as you have neighbours. You'll get 20 ish (don't know why some get more, some only 20) back per 'day' and then after you've got the daily max, you'll get the progress bar flashing in your goal book, but no change to the amount. For newer players, this is very normal! Hope that helps. :)

I sent out about 100 requests a few hours before the end of the day yesterday (got 27 replies), then sent out another 100 requests an hour after the new day started and got the remaining 13 needed within an hour, so altogether about 7 hours to get all 40 cranberries :) (I actually have 42 cranberries now)

I don't think its been mentioned before, but making dishes, silverware and candles are still available to make after the quests needing them are finished......no need to make a bunch of extra before getting the minimal requirement.

I did get one extra candlestick for my collection before upgrading tho:)

Why bother putting out a quest that only a minority of people will even be able to participate in? What. Is. The. Point? Seriously. I want to know how this type of game strategy could possibly do anything but lead to frustrating a large segment of players. I could see if gems were easy to come by but I haven't gotten more than 5 or 6 since I started which I admit was only about 6 weeks ago. I never got any goal for adding any games. Ever. I don't buy gems until I play a game a few months to see if it's worth trading real cash for. I guess this is yet another teamlava game I won't be spending $$ on. Smh

Love this goal! Finally a reason to chop down all those trees cluttering my kingdom since the last expansion. Since I'm always maxed on wood, there was never any reason to chop them. Also a good use of my 10 lemon trees, 5 orange trees, 5 apple trees, 2 sap trees, living wood tree, and magic fruit tree, none of which I usually collect from since I'm generally maxed on what they give, but good sources of honeycomb without having to plant any more trees. Didn't get anything from goddess tree or spooky tree but could be just random.

I think most players who have a few months' experience in this game have determined that you pretty much have to buy at least 1-2 sheep to get by in this game, preferably more. Sheep is arguably the most important gem purchase to make. But that does not mean you have to spend real money on this game to get by. If you download just 1 promoted game (when they appear as icons in the lower left and in the goals list), and play enough levels to complete all its goals, and manage to avoid gem traps, you get 75 gems, enough to buy 2 sheep without spending any money. That won't help you right now with this limited time quest I'm sorry to say, but it will help you for the next, and for many regular quests in the game.

Thought this was a great goal, until I read that you need to finish all goals to get feasts from the table. As the description said "can drop feasts" I assumed later goals would only give more/other benefits

Just a quick note so far the pine tree has given me the most homeycomb. I got 6 or 7 from chopping one down. I got one from an orange tree once and occasionally from the apple, lemon and maple trees. Haven't tried the magic fruit tree yet.

I doubt TL would offer it if they didn't think you could have a chance. In DS I was at the lowest level when the Halloween quest came in, still managed to get the second individual prize and the community prizes, give it your best shot, don't give up just yet, pick and choose your gem skips, I did with the summer gazebo (Sheeps wool) bought a cheap gem sheep and a second stable and accomplished it just in time. It is possible.

Sorry Noctuaya, don't feel sorry for you...all of us were Level 16 players at one point in this game, and there were challenges that were over our capabilities. For me, it was challenges like this that kept me slogging away in the game (remember, it is just a game) so that I could eventually accomplish some of these greater goals. I can't count all the ones I couldn't finish, but that's part of the game. The goals should not be geared to make it easy for everyone to accomplish, but attainable for those who have kept at it through daily play to make these goals something you can achieve. If you keep playing, you'll soon be at a level where you can do the goals, so keep plugging away! (And try to keep the whining to a minimum!)

Only chickens :) tried my hatcheries 4 times nothing, ( since yesterday) but collected from chickens as well, now I have 3 more large chickens than needed :)
