No food level promotions on Ipod for Bakery Story?

My girlfriend has the same game installed on your iPad. She has food promotion levels (sous-chef, master chef, etc.... 1-4) for each food item.

I have the program on my iPod touch, and there are no food level promotions.

Is this intentional? A bug? If so, how do I fix it?

Are you a high enough level? You have to get to level 8 before you can start mastering food?
