The Ghost Trap is a one-time use item that "catches" a ghost. These little guys are so mischievous that they simply fly away into other parts of your Farm. But they leave behind a special reward! You will get a candy for one of the later days of the Halloween Item Hunt. Good luck!

The carnival type event will benefit me the most, because I'll be moving this Sunday and don't know when I'll have wifi again. If it's another birthday and fall type event with collecting foolishness, after upgrading every few hours, I'll walk away with nada. And I definitely want every Halloween item given. Mainly the animals. So I'd better make some calls and have my uverse set up by then. Or else I'm throwing a serious hissy fit. I want more kitties!

Suggestions for tomorrow's event!
Do not gift neighbours in the morning.
Keep all pickaxes, shovels, and fishing bait until the event starts.
The event will likely start at 5:30 pm eastern daylight savings time.
Do not harvest your trees or crops but have them ready for collection.
Have all your machines full and ready to collect.
Have all your plane deliveries ready to go.

I'm so excited for this event to start..halloween is my fav time..ofcourse i'm sure as with every event it will be a pain in the *** but i'm excited to see the prizes and such..i'm sure there will be a pet prize..they had a cat last year which stinks because i want a hallow kitty..but i'm sure it will be a dog..altho a dif species would be nice if its not a cat...but i get off at 5 today so just in time to check in on it and find out :) i'm a little afraid of how i'll make it thru financially tho since i've only saved about 10k since buying the deli last week :P

I have never paid for anything in this game and have at times won the animal prize. It's a lt if coming on here and seeing who is selling needed parts and constantly going into the newspaper. I currently have over 200 gems and 400k dollars.

Edit: forced app closed, and now its visible, and everyone is now in Halloween attire. Hoping that will force my candy corn.

I just bought the ghost trap and the required item is tomorrow's collection item. Well the silhouette is the same. So I am guessing that the cauldron is like the ticket booth. As I have only 7 days for this challenge that is the only way to get things for me. What happened in the carnival event is putting me off though.

Yes, someone explain whether 'ghost trap' is necessary? Five gems and then being asked to spend 160 more is appalling!! I may be sitting this one out. After Halloween is over, all that decorative junk is just going to clutter the farm. More stuff for storage.

The ghost trap is a one time use then it's gone. U have to make the lollipop thing in the witches cauldron then give to the ghost trap then u wait (I don't remember how long sorry I gemmed through to see what it did) then the ghost trap gives u a random piece of candy that shows up in your collections gallery then the ghost trap disappears. So it is good to look at but not very useful, in my opinion. The witches cauldron is like the ticket booth for the carnival. Hope this helps.

There are lot's of candies you can make in the cauldron....all the candies for the collection. each candies ingredient is the candy before it....so by making biscuits for the duration, and getting candy corn, and using it to make the pumpkin pop, then you can make the purple candy, then use that to ake the orange....on and on.... I am guessing we will be getting all the candies in the collection, on other days, starting with the pumpkin pop tomorrow? and this is just a way to speed up the collecting. Other than that, it is a very cool decoration and looks good with Morgan in her witches costume....which sadly you can't see because she is blocked out by the bat.....
Glad I had recently downloaded bubble mania and got a whole swack of gems for levelling up in it!!

Thank you to Everyone that answered my post, its kind of a bummer then because im like about 28 gems away from 160 since i accidentally sped up my lemon tree :( i Think that as you guys mentioned its like the carnival booth a way to speed up the process , i guess i will see if i end up purchasing gems but i wish i could of asked before i paid 5 gems for the ghost trap which idk if its useless now without the pot because i thought it was like the fall tree boo:(

And the entire farm was completely "halloweened" out which we actually had a special version to be downloaded from App Store too. Needless to say, this year is unfortunately a dissapointment for me anyway!

I love new events but the problem is still that we need expansions. Where shall we put all the new stuff ? another question, I bought the chaudron but it allows me only to open 2 spaces saying I'm on the max capacity. The ticketshop wasn't like this. I could grow it up with tools. Will it open as the day passes by ? If so, that would be unfair. I can't remember if the ticketshop was the same.

No idea, it is all very confusing.....but based on last events I would not "give" items on the quests which you have days to complete until we know what we are going to need them for in the future.

Normally in these events I have 2 boxes on the right, one showing what the prizes are. Not this time. I have bought the trap but until I know there is a bigger prize (like the leprachaun lookout) it will have to stay as decoration.

Yes, the candies are in the collection gallery, the first tab on the left of the butterfly collection. Seems like you're gonna have to turn in the entire collections to get prizes, which appears to depend heavily on luck... One of which is a dog... But the heavy dependence on luck doesn't bode well for my chances of getting it...

Besides the kitchen, I've been using other buildings to craft goods, but candy corn did not drop in those buildings. Seems like candy corn can only be obtained when you use the kitchen? Someone earlier mentioned that they had candy corn when they cooked stew... Maybe other candies can be obtained when you use other buildings? Though it may not be the case, since it's not really fair to lower level players, who may have fewer buildings...

ETA: Oh wait a min, I forgot to take into account the cauldron and how it generates the candies...

Well i found my down side to the event..its exactly like the carnival..or it seemed...til i built my cauldron last night and found that they changed the time it takes to cook them..with the booth almost half was 30 mins and 2 15m and a couple 1hr...but this one is 2x 15m,30m,1hr,1 1/2hr, and 1x 3hr...sigh those are way to long :P
And i need 1 more silly paint can to expand my to a 3x queue :P

Everyday a new item will be opened and there will be a new thing to collect for a different piece of candy. I am pretty sure when the day 2 is open, we will get
a new quest.

So I won't bother, it took me 70 or so collections to get the carnival pony so how are we supposed to manage to craft enough candies.

Yes, I only just got 10 from the 90 biscuits for the lanterns. Usually get hundreds of the first! This does not bode well.

I was trying to do it, but have not had my coffee yet and my brain just didn't want to do math yet.... ;) so if you can work at it steady every day, you should be able to turn in one collection every second day..... We have 18 days so a person could conceivably get 9 or 10 prizes from collections...providing you had the ability to get the cauldron in the first place. In 6 hours I should be able to turn in my first collection! (because I recieved 2 of the frankenstien candies from the trap)
the thing about this event is that people are not going to be selling candies in the newspaper.... unless they don't want to do the event at all, or unless they have gotten all the prizes to be had.

Hey, there's two new goals now. The first ask to buy some Halloween decoration and the second request to buy a "creepy bird cage" or a "dire tree" (I play on French version so maybe it's not the exactely English names).
But in the store, I have only one Halloween decoration: piece of way wich cost 2 Gem for one. No tree, no bird cage and no other decorations I could buy for Gold coin instead of Gem. Is that normal? Does anybody have some other decorations?

I'm very upset! It used to be that when skins would come out for the holidays , some would be for coins and some for gems well unless I didn't look closely enough they are all for gems ! Try tapping on the tree, not the owl. Like last year's Snoozing Bat, the owl is asleep and will only wake up if you tap the tree.

So to make 75 fries, you need 75 * 20 minutes = 1500 minutes = 25 hours?
Plus, you need 150 potatoes to begin with.

turned in my 1st collection and got the hotdog. buuhh. Don't want any pet. want that carousel. and space on the farm. Besides I love the decorations. This year they are not so expensive. I bought 2 of the animated pumpkins with the fire in it. 2 gems is very low price. And the flowers for 250 coins. Thanks TL to make them affordable.

Speaking of the cauldron, I did some calculations & have to say that I think TL missed the mark this time!!

To get a complete set, to turn in for ONE chance at a prize, you need to have one of each, but that means you need to make 9 of the first, 8 of the second, 7 of the third, and so on. Taking a grand total of 30 hours & 15 minutes to get ONE complete set.

Obviously as the days pass & more candies can be collected, we won't have to craft the first few, but it still takes WAY too much time imo.

The times & calculations are as follows to achieve one of each candy.

9 x .25 = 2.25 hours for the second candy (first of the craftable)
8 x .25 = 2 hours for the third candy (second craftable)
7 x .5 = 3.5 hours for the fourth
6 x .5 = 3 hours for the fifth
5 x 1 = 5 hours for the sixth
4 x 1 = 4 hours for the seventh
3 x 1.5 = 4.5 hours for the eighth
2 x 1.5 = 3 hours for the ninth
1 x 3 = 3 hours for the tenth candy

Once we reach day five it will *only* take 19.5 hours to craft the remaining candies to get one complete set, but that still is not great, imo.

TL, is there any chance the times to craft candies in the cauldron will be reduced??? As you can see above, it is actually candies 6, 7 and 8 which take the largest share of time to make a complete set. Reducing those three by 30 minutes would cut 6 hours off the 30.5 hour time to make a complete set. Given that the cauldron is a gem item, it would be nice if it were a little more user-friendly. I traded in one collection so far and got a silly stack of pumpkins (deco).

Two candies in two days of trying to fry up some candies means this event is over for me. It does not matter if it rains down the rest of the "treats", you can't do anything without one of the puzzle pieces. TL needs to get this game on a level playing field if it wants to keep us engaged in this or other games they constantly push on us. If we got as many candies as we do promotions for other downloads, we would have gotten on to the next task hours ago.

Oh yea they had a tech error and released them early haha I had forgotten , let's hope that happens again lol. I'm doing the same when I read your comment I thought I should probably start making bait and saving tools in case the candies come up in the pond and mine :)

For these events, I continuously produce in all buildings, but only collect from the ones that are currently dropping candy. I had a backlog of over 20 chocolates! Maybe you can try that for the remaining collections. Good luck all!

Completed Day 3 Goal (purple candy) including the 75 French fries. Day 4 (green candy) someone mention from the chocolatier. I don't have a goal. Is there a goal. Morgan said fish more. submitted four chocolate bars no candy yet.
