Looks like there's 80 new levels on the Battlegrounds.

Ultimate reward is what looks like a Dark-Fire Hybrid (A Rare, if you can believe that... not even a Super Rare) called Terrorier with a 15-hour hatch time. Goal Reward for hatching is 10 Gems and 30 XP Points.

For anyone that's interested in a more in-depth guide on how to pick a hybrid animal that will help you beat your opponents in tournaments/battlegrounds, SANDSCApe (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?73459-New-Battlegrounds-Creature-Terrorier-9-26-14&p=973541&viewfull=1#post973541) was kind enough to write a handy guide on the subject! Enjoy:

FIGHTER SELECTOR (No abbreviations)

Just look for the opponent's elemental Type (e.g., Racmoon, Dream Bat and Gargolem are Dark-Earth), then select the highest rarity and level you have from the recommended types. Elements matter more than rarity. Rarity matters more than level.

Pointed brackets indicate the element that is <DOMINANT> in types that unavoidably have one element that is either weak or neutral against the opponent. (Most opponents will not be weak against two elements that show up together.)

Pure Gem: Use Dark-Water, Dark-Earth, Dark-Nature, or Dark-Fire. <DARK>

Gem-Nature: Use Dark-Fire

Pure Electric: Use Electric-Earth, Dark-Earth, Earth-Nature or Earth-Fire <EARTH>

Electric-Water: Use Electric-Earth

Electric-Earth: Use Earth-Nature

Electric-Nature: Use Electric-Fire, Dark-Fire, Earth-Fire or Nature-Fire <FIRE>

Electric-Fire: Use Electric-Earth or Earth-Fire <EARTH>

Pure Dark: Use Electric-Fire, Dark-Fire, Earth-Fire, or Nature-Fire <FIRE>

Dark-Water: Use Electric-Water, Electric-Earth. Electric-Nature or Electric-Fire <ELECTRIC>

Dark-Earth: Use Dark-Nature, Water-Nature, Earth-Nature or Nature-Fire. <NATURE>

Dark-Nature: Use Electric-Fire, Dark-Fire or Nature-Fire <FIRE>

Dark-Fire: Use Water-Earth or Earth-Fire

Pure Water: Use Electric-Water, Electric-Earth or Electric-Nature <ELECTRIC>

Water-Earth: Use Gem-Nature, Electric-Nature, Dark-Nature, Water-Nature or Earth-Nature <NATURE>

Water-Nature: use Electric-Water, Electric-Nature or Electric-Fire. <ELECTRIC>

Pure Earth: Use Gem-Nature, Dark-Nature, Water-Nature or Earth-Nature. <NATURE>

Earth-Nature: Gem-Nature, Dark-Nature, Water-Nature or Nature-Fire <NATURE>

Earth-Fire: Use Water-Earth

Pure Nature: Use Electric-Fire, Dark-Fire or Nature-Fire <FIRE>

Nature-Fire: Use Electric-Water, Electric-Fire, Water-Earth or Earth-Fire. <FIRE> <WATER>

Pure Fire: Use Water-Earth

Once you select your fighter and enter the battle, your odds are SET, and it won't matter which element button you use. You probably won't believe me, so go ahead and tap the button of the strong element if you like seeing "Strong Attack" flash across your screen. But I guarantee that if you don't roll a Critical, your hit will do standard damage of 25-33% from either element button. If the opponent lands at least 2 weak hits (20-25% each), your animal will survive the 3rd counter attack and get a defensive default victory. Your 4th hit ALWAYS wins, if you get one.

I beat the skyger with the troll

Second one is a FrostFang. Tried troll and lost

Try electric for Frostfang. Water and Electric are natural enemies in battles, I've found :3

Sticking with your thread, 'cause uh, you were totally first, haha.

Level 3 is Plantler

I beat Frostfang with my Vinotaur using nature attacks. Nature also scores "strong" attacks.

I hope looks are deceiving. Because it LOOKS like fire and dark colors and styling (by styling I mean it looks like flames and stars on it). And that would mean there are now FOUR super rares of that combo, while a lot of other combos have only 1 super rare yet. Not to mention the very last prize creature we got was also fire-dark.

Yeah, I find it a bit odd that there are so many Dark-Fire Supers coming out lately *__* Maybe it'll be a really weird Electric-Fire Super that only looks like a Dark-Fire... though I seriously doubt it >.<

Hahaha, know that feeling! I'm generally pretty much a lurker, though. Good thing for miracles then! ;) I was surprised no thread showed up immediately after the announcement, but then I realized I didn't scroll too far down, d'oh! And I was temporarily distracted when I kept misspelling frostfang in my excitement.

Glad I could help a little! I'll get right back aboard as soon as my phone finishes updated to iOS 8.0.2!

We could always hope that the "red flames" are just that color because of the sometimes strange tinge-dye effect they get when they reach level 15.

---

Round 4: Firepony (level 15)... stupidly used my Vinotaur again. OOPS.

Also, the Planters I faced was only level 12; do levels of the opponents vary from person to person?

locotesx3

Level 4 is a pyro pony. (I should have used water but got 3 strong attacks with sloth and lost)

This sucks not know what the opponent is going to be till after you select yours.

True, though since the title for the Battlegrounds is 'Diamond in the Ruff' it might actually be a Gem-Fire hybrid... though why they'd give away an ultra is something I'm seriously leery about, so it's probably just speculation. Dark-Fire Super is the most likely.

Thanks for the info! Much appreciated. And, yes, I think the levels fluctuate from person to person. The levels I'm posting are all accurate levels I had to battle against so far. So if they're different from other peoples' levels... that kinda sucks in a way :(

Maybe they've considered the input/critiques/comments given by players and this is a solution? It would add variation in being able to obtain an ultra (i.e. obtaining the seemingly unobtainable, hahaha). But of course, I'm just speculating too. Whatever the reason and whatever it is, I don't particularly mind. All I know is that I WANT IT.

---

fjskaj;slagj;slka; that firepony is becoming un-cute real fast. It beat my level 15 frostfang, haha. The plus side to this happening is that I've finally noticed I don't have a rare/super rare water creature above level 10. Guess I should take care of that at some point.

Omg, stop me, I've been calling Pyro Pony a firepony all this time. Face/palm.

Lol, it's fine; it's an honest mistake to make and it's kinda hard not to think of it as a firepony since that's essentially what it is :D

To be truthful, though, if it IS a Gem-Fire animal (doubtful) I'll be a bit disappointed... I mean, who uses a normal dog as the 'royalty' class of hybrids? You use animals like unicorns, dragons and kirins for Ultras... not mangy dogs >.<

Though if it's a Dark-Fire that'll make a bit more sense but it's still a mystery to me why they'd use a common dog for a super when everything else that's a super is a mythical creature or a rare one in the animal kingdom (Ancient Sloth is a good example) *.* Why it couldn't have been a Cerberus is beyond me... that would have been way cooler, imo.

Sadly, it is confirmed that the Terrorier is indeed a FOURTH fire-dark super. WTF, TL? We BEG for a chance an electrical super after the first arena and in response you give us what is far and above the LEAST needed hybrid type AGAIN. FOUR. FOUR fire-dark supers. Frankly, that is just stupid and lame. It would be stupid and lame if there were already two of them no less three. It would be stupid and lame just for the fact that most of us got one just one week ago. It would be stupid and lame if it were any combo that does not include an electrical component. Therefore, this prize is STUPID AND LAME TIMES FOUR.

ETA: CORRECTION! It is EVEN LAMER THAN THAT. It is a RARE. It is not even super rare.

Ahaha, thanks! You've got a point; it really seems less and less likely that it's a gem-fire hybrid. YESSSSS. Cerberus would totally make much more sense for a super dark-fire. Although could you imagine a sprite with three heads as large as the eagle beagle? Face/floor x 3.

Agreed, but it would be a heck of a lot better to have a mythical creature hybrid for a Gem-Fire and/or Gem-Dark than an everyday-animal. Though a three-headed dog that's an ultra would be pretty cute as a baby, now that I think about it... :D

Wow... TL must really, really want to make it even harder for us to get Supers in this game from now on. The fact it's a rare and not a super is just... weird. Let's just hope it can only be 'gotten' via the battlegrounds and it won't be added to the list of rare dark-fires that are already way too common like thunderhawk. That would suck so much. Thanks for the thorough investigation, though, Zenobia. You're always on top of things :D

TOTALLY! I could imagine the baby would have one head, the next two heads, and then adult form with be the three-headed Cerberus.

I'm sure you can---it's not like the tournament arena where there's a timer on it so I assume we can go at our own pace until the next battleground levels come around.

TL;DR: Snail's pace = Should Be Safe!

Thanks :D Why not try nature next? I could have sworn that nature is good to battle against for fire opponents. Perhaps if you have a lightning/nature hybrid that might work well? Just as long as the 'strong attack' sign pops up instead of the 'weak attack' one---you know you're going to lose if your hybrid animal only gives you 'weak attack' signals during battle -_-

So did I but it failed (lvl 15 Skyger) :(

It was a weak attack, same with nature. Not sure about fire and rock, though that might be the best elements to get critical hits.

I have this thought regarding when "person one" beats a level with a particular creature & then "person two" uses the same creature & loses... This happened to me several times at Nightmare's battleground & it was frustrating!

I think that what might be happening is something like this... The game takes into account all of a person's creatures when "calculating**" the hits each creature will deliver during a battle.

So, for instance, where "person one" wins a battle with a Skyger, maybe it's the case that... Of all of "person one's" creatures, that Skyger is the strongest match of elements against the opponent...

But when "person two" tries to use a Skyger in the same battle, and they lose... Maybe it's the case that... of all of "person two's" creatures, that Skyger is NOT "person two's" strongest match of elements against the opponent... In other words, "person two" has a creature that's better against the opponent than a Skyger (in terms of rarity/level/element-combo).

Possibly, it's the case that the game is saying... "Hello!! McFly! You have another creature that's a better match against (aka, better able to win against) this battle opponent! Better luck figuring it out next time! Oh, and don't forget you can spend some gems to figure it out quicker!! Just sayin'!!"

I hope all this over-thinking nonsense made at least some sense!

**see SANDSCApe's detailed post (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?73180-Making-Sense-of-the-Battleground) regarding a theory about how the game "calculates" the attacks any given creature will have in battle.

I haven't caught up on the whole thread (THANKS for everyone rushing through and posting for the rest of us!!!)... but I have just a quick note - water is weak to fire glider because the glider has electric. Also, fire is just neutral to it.

Guess it's a bug TL is gonna have to fix b/c it happened in other tournaments/battleground levels I've played previously...

Current theory is that if the strength of the hit isn't shown, it's a "medium" attack; neither strong nor weak.

I really don't think this is how it works. It's hard for me to believe that only my best match will beat the opponent. I have 46 different creatures!

But the link you put does have a lot of good information; Sands is compiling lots of great theories.

Well, I can produce a list of the hybrids with the best odds against each of the 21 types of elemental challenges, but it seems people prefer swapping anecdotes. Folks also have a tendency to chase their own tails (or wild geese) rather than tackle the logic of the system. And of course the overwhelming majority stubbornly refuse to recognize that there is any logic at all.
The battle threads are full of comments about which fighter this or that person used, which hardly matters if the fighter isn't actually chosen for its odds of winning. People are still harping on "strong attacks" or which element button they tapped.
Heaven forbid players should actually pick their fighters using the same method with which the system calculates the odds of victory. What can I say? The system is rather generous with those Critical Hits and there's no urgency on the regular Battlegrounds. But come Tournament Tuesday it's a different story for most. Maybe I'll post my list then, if anybody is interested in doing a little better than the Pick-One-Element or Use-What-That-Guy-Used strategy.

I would love to work things out better. I'm new to gaming but would certainly like to have the odds more in my favour please. Especially after my first exhausting Nightmare battle. I just don't know any better! I have been taking notes when comments say what element works best against certain elements but do have lots of gaps.

SANDS, I'm always interested in your logic/advice so I wouldn't mind hearing what you have to say about this issue. On that note, most people just want to know which type of attack gives the best odds for an easier time of it. It's always been 'this type of element does the most damage so use this' for forum users so that's what they're used to, to be honest (it just goes by faster for the posters and the users). It would be a bit of a pain to redo all the little levels I've got on the first post, but if that's what you think should be done I'll do it to help out everyone else.

What do you think? :\

Also, the hybrids with the best odds is a great idea but there is one small detail that might be overlooked for most users: Not everyone has Creature X and so on. I don't have a Rampage or Vinotaur like a lot of users have so if Level 15 requires that you need a Vinotaur for the best odds... users like me will be totally out of luck. Perhaps also keep on the list which 'elements' have the strongest attacks AS WELL as which hybrids have the best odds? Or am I totally misreading the situation? 0.o

I only use people's suggestions as a guideline. For me, my lev. 15 Solar Simian is my go to for most battles, no matter whom I'm up against. His nature and fire attacks seem to work for me. And I'll often get "weak attack" on the first couple of hits and then get a "critical hit". Which basically proves Sands' theory that oftentimes it's a "**** shoot".
And a Wild Goose, that's a great suggestion for a new creature! More elusive than the Emerald Dragon, we could all go on a "Wild Goose Chase!" LMAO!!

Well in that case, I'll throw the list up, because it doesn't pin one down to a particular fighter in most cases. I'm trying to finish the Bonsai Tournament in Dragon Story today (started a couple days late) so my focus is there. I haven't even be*** the Terrorier circuit yet. LOL. Probably won't start until Monday, by which time all opponents will be known.
Meanwhile, I'll post my short-hand fighter selector list.

FIGHTER SELECTOR
First on each line is the elemental challenge, followed by the best elemental responses. In most cases, a dominant element is marked at the end in pointed brackets. (This will correspond to the single element many players are already using to select fighters.) Try to maximize rarity and level as you pick your responder. Elements are abbreviated. To avoid confusion, Electric is represented by Z (as in zap), and Earth is represented by R (as in rock).

G: DW. DR. DN. DF. <D>
GN: DF
Z: ZR. DR. RN. RF. <R>
ZW: ZR
ZR: RN
ZN: ZF. DF. RF. NF <F>
ZF: ZR. RF <R>
D: ZF. DF. RF. NF <F>

WR: GN. ZN. DN. WN. RN. <N>
WN: ZW. ZN. ZF. <Z>
R: GN. DN. WN. RN. <N>
RN: GN. DN. WN. NF <N>
RF: WR
N: ZF. DF. NF. <F>
NF: ZW. ZF. WR. RF. <F> <W>
F: WR

Example:
Lion, Daredevil or Glider are all Electric-Fire. If you are facing one of them, look for ZF on the list. It says "ZF: ZR. RF <R>". Your best pick will be either Electric-Earth (ZR) or Earth-Fire (RF). The dominant element is Earth (R), but notice that you do NOT want just ANY super Earth hybrid. So you are looking to use Terradactyl or Magmacore, BUT if you don't have either one, go with Mammoth, Rampage or Camel.

What if you don't have EITHER of those five? Then you're in Crappy Odds Land. Pick some other Earth super or fall back on a common Electric-Earth or Earth-Fire.

Awesome! This will make it loads easier to choose which hybrids have the best chance. However, a better legend would be required to put it up on the first post so users could make more sense of it. I know R means 'Rock' and Z means 'Zap' but what about everything else? Is it thus:

R - Rock (Earth)
Z - Zap (Electric)
W - Water
N - Nature
F - Fire
G - Gem
D - Dark

So an example of using this chart would be:

Fighting against Rock opponents (R) you would wish to use Gem-Nature (Emerald Dragon), Dark-Nature (Pegasus, Moose, Planther, Peamoth, Troll), Water-Nature (Turtilse, Aquatter, Ocean Owl) and Rock-Nature (Plantlers, Bamboon, Grassquatch) --- where the common denominator is Nature element.

Or is there something I'm missing?

Let me know and I'll get to work on putting it on there as a handy guide for users. :)

Yes, with regard to your example, one is best served fighting PURE Earth/Rock with either Gem-Nature, Dark-Nature, Water-Nature or Nature-Fire. But at this stage in the game, Earth is only Rhino. You don't use the Earth list for Earth hybrid opponents. Each hybrid type is listed separately.

So again, I'll type it all out later but
G is Gem,
Z is Electric,
D is Dark,
W is Water,
R is Earth/Rock
N is Nature,
F is Fire.

ZD on the list is Electric-Dark, which doesn't exist yet. I think I will edit that out for now.

I had some trouble, too; but I just kept at it with my Bamboon and Dream Bat. If you had a super rare with Earth element (and didn't have a weakness to its other nature--don't quote me on this since I'm not all that sure, and it doesn't seem to make much of a difference...), it's your best option. I didn't have supers, so I just used my rares that had Earth attacks.

I totally forgot in my excitement and fumbled my way through the entire procedure, haha. I implore you (and whoever gets there) to nab a screenshot of it. I thought it looked pretty awesome. (: I swear I've just been lucky, but every few rounds or so I get knocked back down a few pegs. Plus, I happen to have a lot of time on my hands, haha (and it doesn't help that energy's restored so quickly--ten minutes can go by so fast!). Really, though, I'm happy I can help out! Like I've mentioned before though, you're organizing all the information, so thank you for keeping it all together, coherently in one place!

I know what you mean! I tend to raise all my creatures to level 10, and then stop. My commons and a few rares are all level 15, only because farming 20k apples is much easier than farming 50k or so for the final jump for supers to level 15. My vinotaur is the only super that's max level. That's why I love these tournaments and the free food; I'm hoping at the end I'll be able to max out another super!

LOL, I fear if they name it Buckbeak then the HP franchise will swoop down on them and scream copyright infringement, but chances are it'll be some version of Hippogriff in the name. And no worries about the screengrab---I finally got to that level and managed to know in advance it would be there instead of blindly attacking with no worries :D

And no worries about the screengrab---I finally got to that level and managed to know in advance it would be there instead of blindly attacking with no worries :D

And, yes, we are quite a nice team. Thanks for your continued help! It's so much easier this way ^___^

At least we could always just rename the creature Buckbeak ourselves! I wonder what pun they'll come up with this time... Hahaha! It's a tactic that works! Occasionally. With my trusty Vinotaur at my side and command, I fear no challenge the battlegrounds can throw at me!

Always glad to be able to contribute in any way, and of course, share the workload! (:

I'm stuck on 50 I only have commons at level 15 grrr please any suggestions 

What's your highest super rare that has fire? You could try using that. If not, maybe try your highest rare that has fire if you're not having luck with your maxed out commons. Better yet, refer to SANDSCApe's post earlier:

F for FIRE
N for NATURE
Z for ELECTRIC
R for EARTH
G for GEM
D for DARK
W for WATER

FIGHTER SELECTOR
First on each line is the elemental challenge, followed by the best elemental responses. In most cases, a dominant element is marked at the end in pointed brackets. (This will correspond to the single element many players are already using to select fighters.) Try to maximize rarity and level as you pick your responder. Elements are abbreviated. To avoid confusion, Electric is represented by Z (as in zap), and Earth is represented by R (as in rock).

G: DW. DR. DN. DF. <D>
GN: DF
Z: ZR. DR. RN. RF. <R>
ZW: ZR
ZR: RN
ZN: ZF. DF. RF. NF <F>
ZF: ZR. RF <R>
D: ZF. DF. RF. NF <F>
DW: ZW. ZR. ZN. ZF <Z>
DR: DN. WN. RN. NF. <N>
DN: ZF. DF. NF <F>
DF: WR. RF
W: ZW. ZR. ZN <Z>
WR: GN. ZN. DN. WN. RN. <N>
WN: ZW. ZN. ZF. <Z>
R: GN. DN. WN. RN. <N>
RN: GN. DN. WN. NF <N>
RF: WR
N: ZF. DF. NF. <F>
NF: ZW. ZF. WR. RF. <F> <W>
F: WR

HIP HIP HURRAY! Glad that we were able to finish in time, and, of course, help in speedily compiling the list of rounds. SUPER HAPPY. Haha, speed-battling with no gems and luckily, tons of time on my hands. Definitely two happy clams tonight! That definitely sounds like a solid friendship forged to me. ;) No wonder we made such a great team! But really, everybody deserves a round of applause and more! Great effort!

You're right about the Terrorier, I updated my last post with the information a few minutes after you had just posted, haha. Tomorrow I'll be able to put the egg on my nest. SO EXCITED. Good luck with the rounds you have left! I hope it's a quick process and you'll have your egg in no time at all. (:

Arcadia & Arikatu (twins from another life?), you've done a smashing job of gathering information on the entire Terrorier circuit! The OP is now slammin!

One more question: what is the goal reward for hatching the Terrorier egg? I've started keeping redundant eggs in storage, so, until I decide to hatch Troll, I won't see the goal for the Terrorier battles.

To SANDS - I'm learning a lot. Many many thanks. Surely the odds will now be more in our favour, instead of trial and error and loads of notes! All the info will point to more informed choices thank you.

Do you have a similar concise chart for breeding? You will have but have you also shared here?

To ariku and ArcadiaTofu - You have both worked hard and gave up sleep to lead the way. It means those who use the forum can relax and succeed quicker. Many thanks.

ArcadiaTofu took care of it! Like she said, a pretty fabulous egg! How long's the hatch time? I've got mine sitting in storage waiting on this Daredevil to hatch first, haha.

The eggs hatch time is 15 hours. Mines about to hatch in the next 30 mins if you want to stop by to view the animal :) I wish we were able to use eggs as decoration as well. Some of these eggs are to pretty to hatch lol

Grats on hatching your adorable, little Terrorier! I think I might just do that if ArcadiaTofu hasn't gotten to it yet. I only put the egg on the nest a few hours ago, so I still have another 12 hours to go, haha.

Oh gosh, haha. Thanks for the special mention! It was good teamwork, ArcadiaTofu! (: I'm a little embarrassed: my acclaim to fame being my obsessive nature when it comes to these battlegrounds. I was surprised this time around, usually you guys are a few rounds ahead of me! I'm happy I was able to help, good luck to everyone midst the battlegrounds! You'll get your egg in no time (if you're rushing like me, haha).

LOL. No wonder our BFF status was forged so quickly and strongly! Thank you, thank you. (: Hope it helps when you get around to working on this goal!
The rewards are 10 gems and 30 EXP points. I'll try to post up an image of it when I get to my phone, haha.

I suppose 20 gems is incentive enough to give Troll and Terrorier a home. I kept Nightmare in storage and willingly forfeited the 3 gems I would have received if I had hatched the egg by Sep 21.
But it may be wise to get Troll out of storage and hatched before starting the Terrorier circuit. I remember the Yak goal didn't recognize or count relevant battles that were completed before the goal arrived. I don't know whether TL has fixed the Battleground goals to retroactively recognize progress.

If anyone hatched their Troll AFTER starting the Terrorier battles, yet successfully completed the Terrorier goal, please let us know.

Hey Sand...was looking at the goal reward and the way it is worded is you just have to complete level 80 and hatch Terrorier to get reward. I am only at level 9 and it shows as 75% completed. They are not counting each level this time so I think no matter when you hatch your troll you would get the reward. Also I had not hatched my troll so was going to wait to start until after it hatch but accidentally clicked on the battleground before it finished. Battleground did open but I did not fight. I did get the goal after troll hatched.

Should be using ELECTRIC; that's probably my bad, haha. When I had faced the (LVL 73) Hydro Yak, I didn't know what it was, so I used my Vinotaur and was lucky to be able to score a critical NATURE attack. So I reiterate, you should be using ELECTRIC (follow SANDSCApe's "Fighter Selector" in the first post). If there's no display about the severity of an attack, it's been determined to mean it's "neutral": not strong, but not weak either, just a good ol' regular punch to the jaw.

Ultimate reward is what looks like a Dark-Fire Hybrid (A Rare, if you can believe that... not even a Super Rare) called Terrorier with a 15-hour hatch time. Goal Reward for hatching is 30 Gems and 30 XP Points.

Small typo! 10 Gems and 30 XP Points. (: I WISH it was 30 gems, haha.

Then you're just going to have to keep at it; like SANDSCApe's guide suggests in the first post (and what my607 is trying to direct you to) alternate between your best electric-fire hybrid (super being best, common being less so) to anything else with fire. Spruce Moose is specifically weak against fire natured attacks.

So creature wise, you're probably better off using a Gold Lion, Cosmic Phoenix or Vinotaur, then Daredevil, Ember Bear, Jackalope or Solar Simian and then Fire Glider, Fire Fox or Fairy Ferret, or well, some order of these creatures I've mentioned.

It is difficult, and may take very many tries, but not impossible. Have you tried leveling up a rare or super rare dark hybrid to a high level? Dark attack is strong vs. the unicorn (and emerald). I use a level 15 Chameneon to beat unicorns.

I hatched the troll when I got to level 75 for the Terrorier and the troll goal is completed and the Terriorier goal appeared. I think as long as you hatch it before you finish the Terriorier levels, it should be okay. I didn't hatch the troll since it was in storage and I could wait. I'll update after I finish the goal. The crystal unicorn is giving me trouble.

It isn't necessary to hatch Troll before defeating Terrorier either. I tested this out with Forest Gump: I kept Sloth in storage throughout the entire Hydro Yak circuit. After defeating Yak, with BOTH Sloth and Yak eggs in storage, I put Sloth to nest. Once it hatched, the Sloth goal completion and prize message popped up, then the next goal for the already-completed Hydro Yak circuit appeared, showing a big green check-mark next to the battles part of the goal, and a note to check storage for the Yak egg.

So we can keep a prize egg in storage as long as we wish and, if there's no expiration on the associated goal, we can collect the goal reward whenever we eventually hatch the egg, IF and only if we've activated that goal. The only annoying thing is that the goal for each battle region won't appear until the boss of the previous region is hatched. Makes no sense, really, because the battle circuit itself doesn't wait for the previous goal/s to be completed before it opens up for new battles. Why piggy-back the goals at all?

Presumably, if you hatch your Terrorier while your Troll is still in storage, you'll eventually see the Terrorier goal AND instantly get its reward at the very same time you hatch the Troll and get ITS reward. Gem jackpot.

I guess that the game won't show the next goal without you completing the previous goal. I wonder what happens if someone didn't hatch the sloth, hydro yak, troll or terrorier and goes to the next goal when it's available. Sometimes there just isn't enough coins and space to keep up with everything.

As for that last part, I think even if you hatched the Terrorier before the Troll, you'll have to hatch the troll first to get the Troll reward, the the Terrorier reward.nlike you said, the previous boss needs to be hatched before the next goal appears so it'll make sense if there's no reward until the previous boss is hatched, since there is no goal to complete.

I am very interested! Also, what you post earlier about odds working with "your" best opponent made a lot of sense to me. Thanks for sharing your theories.

This is the latest version of the Universal Fighter Selector, posted in the Making Sense Of The Battleground thread. Adjusted to reflect the Gem strengths we recently discovered.

UNIVERSAL FIGHTER SELECTOR
Search for the line that begins with the challenger's elemental Type, then select the highest rarity and level you have from the recommended responder types. Elements matter more than rarity. Rarity matters more than level.
See the bottom of the post for notes that may help you use the Selector.

Pure Gem: Use Electric-Dark, Dark-Water or Dark-Fire. <DARK>

Gem-Nature: Use Dark-Fire

Pure Electric: Use Electric-Earth, Dark-Earth, Earth-Nature or Earth-Fire <EARTH>

Electric-Dark: Use Earth-Fire

Electric-Water: Use Electric-Earth

Electric-Earth: Use Gem-Nature or Earth-Nature

Electric-Nature: Use Pure Gem, Gem-Nature, Electric-Fire, Dark-Fire, Earth-Fire or Nature-Fire <GEM> <FIRE>

Electric-Fire: Use Electric-Earth or Earth-Fire <EARTH>

Pure Dark: Use Electric-Fire, Dark-Fire, Earth-Fire, or Nature-Fire <FIRE>

Dark-Water: Use Electric-Dark, Electric-Water, Electric-Earth. Electric-Nature or Electric-Fire <ELECTRIC>

Dark-Earth: Use Gem-Nature, Dark-Nature, Water-Nature, Earth-Nature or Nature-Fire. <NATURE>

Dark-Nature: Use Electric-Fire, Dark-Fire or Nature-Fire <FIRE>

Dark-Fire: Use Water-Earth or Earth-Fire

Pure Water: Use Electric-Dark, Electric-Water, Electric-Earth or Electric-Nature <ELECTRIC>

Water-Earth: Use Gem-Nature. Second-best responders are Electric-Nature, Dark-Nature, Water-Nature or Earth-Nature <GEM> <NATURE>

Water-Nature: use Pure Gem, Gem-Nature, Electric-Dark, Electric-Water, Electric-Nature or Electric-Fire. <GEM> <ELECTRIC>

Pure Earth: Use Gem-Nature. Second-best responders are Pure Gem, Dark-Nature, Water-Nature or Earth-Nature. <GEM> <NATURE>

Earth-Nature: Use Gem-Nature! Second-best responder is Pure Gem. Third-best responders are Dark-Nature, Water-Nature or Nature-Fire <GEM> <NATURE>

Earth-Fire: Use Water-Earth

Pure Nature: Use Pure Gem, Gem-Nature, Electric-Fire, Dark-Fire or Nature-Fire <GEM> <FIRE>

Nature-Fire: Use Pure Gem, Electric-Water, Electric-Fire, Water-Earth or Earth-Fire. <GEM> <FIRE> <WATER>

Pure Fire: Use Water-Earth

NOTES

Sections in blue text were adjusted for Gem's dominance over Earth & Nature.

Dominance: Indicated inside the <POINTED BRACKETS> whenever responders have at least one element that is neutral or weak against the challenger. If no dominant element is indicated, ALL the responders' elements are strong against the challenger. E.g., against Dark-Fire, WATER, EARTH and FIRE are ALL dominant. In such cases, if you don't have a super with two dominant elements, use a corresponding rare; otherwise, select a super with just one of the dominant elements.

Selection Example: If the challenger is Glider, Daredevil or Lion, look for Electric-Fire in the Selector. Recommended responders are Electric-Earth or Earth-Fire, and EARTH is the dominant element. If you don't have Terradactyl or Magmacore, you would use Mammoth, Volcamel or Rampage. If you have neither the supers nor rares for this set of responders, you are better off going with a super EARTH like Gargolem, Griffin, Grassquatch or Sloth. Try not to use Shock Fox, Armordillo or Rhino unless the challenger is the common Glider. The dominant element is indicated so that you can pick a second-best super if needed.

Winning: Once you select your fighter and enter the battle, your odds are SET, and it won't matter which element button you use. If you don't roll a Critical, your hit will do standard damage of 25-33% from EITHER element button. If the opponent lands at least 2 weak hits (20-25% each), your animal will survive the 3rd counter-attack and get a defensive default victory. Your 4th hit ALWAYS wins, if you get one, even if you don't get a Critical.

Something similar happened to me on the Dragon Story, but they helped me, this time they told me they can't give it back. 😔 So I lost my little one.

I had similar situation on candy blast mania, they said they cannot give back reward! That is a very mean action, I think if they really want to help, there is simple solution, like give you gems to buy a new one, but they just don't want to do it.

These kinds of thing make players lose passion on the game, but they don't care.

I would even buy it if it was available but I looked and u can only get it after finishing the battlefield! So I am upset, yup.

I am surprised but pleased to say they gave me the Terrorier after all! I replied once more telling them that It was from the battle prices and that I was sad bc I couldn't get it any other way and then they replied telling me it was a one time thing but it was on my storage and that I must be careful not to delete it again! I'm happy! :D

I am really glad they did the right thing! I have never believed them when they say that all actions (eg accidental purchases) are permanent and unable to be reversed. This proves they CAN help.

Does anyone have different opponent? My lvl 1 was with frostfrang, lvl 2 was with pyro pony, now lvl 3 was with rock. I'm confused.

My son is having a lot of trouble beating level 70, nothing seems to be winning against the emerald dragon.

I'm on level 115 of the battle grounds and it's a level 10 crystal unicorn. It's a gemstone species which I don't have, I have only gone up to water because I'm on level 13. Does this mean I won't be able to defeat the crystal unicorn?
